OK, false advertising. But it is kinda nice.

Anyways, I finished Secrets, the sequel to Mirrors and I’m actually working on the third book. By that, I mean I finally had to put a lid on Secrets at about 110,000 words and I’m 30,000 into the third book, already. Being locked down does have its benefits! It is a smashing story of love, magic, war and friendship.

Trump’s Executive Order on hiring could be crucial…but only in a 2nd Trump term. If Biden wins, he’ll undo it immediately (and Roberts won’t say “boo” about it). But if Trump is re-elected then he’s basically allowing himself to hire whomever he wants…and that means as people leave government, he can staff it up with Civil Service-protected hires who are on our side. Especially if we can also win in 2024, this will be Trump’s most important legacy…having people like us actually in there, irremovable, affecting policy for decades to come.

And “our side” is what matters, folks. Our victories are always partial and short lived because after we struggle for ages and finally get our little win, their side is always in there to slowly whittle away what we did. We need people on our side in there, making sure that what we win stays won.

Now, if you’ve been watching the news and social media: first, get the psychological and spiritual help you need. After that: ignore everything you saw. I was getting a little down, as well. But then I heard something about the primary turnout for Trump and…I looked it up. It is astonishing. We’re talking massively more people are turning out for Trump in 2020 than turned out for Obama in 2012. I’m serious: it isn’t just a little increase, it is massive. In some cases, orders of magnitude larger. And it isn’t just in Red States: Blue and Purple States have seen it, as well. What does this mean? After all, in both cases it is meaningless: the nominee is already set. And that’s just it: someone on Team Trump is getting these people to show up. We’ve been told that Team Trump has built a ground game like none has ever seen before…and now it is being tested out in the primaries. My bet: large numbers are former Dems and/or rare voters…ie, people who will not show up in polling, especially if they are doing a likely voter screen.

‘Rona panic is again the order of the day: the spike in cases, if it is even real and not merely the result of testing, is clearly 100% caused by the protests…but the Left doesn’t care. They want their panic back because they are afraid of Trump rallies and want an excuse to keep Biden in the basement. This is not the action of a party which thinks it is about to win in a landslide.

    Trump, like him, hate him, or ambivalent about him, is out there every day, probably the most transparently available President in my lifetime. I confess, I don’t particularly LIKE Donald Trump as a human being. I don’t care for his stream-of-consciousness speaking manner, and he says stuff that makes me cringe. I’m neutral on his Tweeting, because I don’t do Twitter. But I LOVE what he’s done in office! And, quite frankly, I love the way he makes Lefties’ heads explode. Biden, OTOH, ISN’T out there — literally. What that means in terms of polling is that people, particularly Independents, can assign whatever attributes to him that they want. At this point he’s almost like the “generic” candidate, ie., Trump vs. any “Democrat.” When millions of people hear him make serious gaffs that call his mental health into question instead of 68 people in a high school gym, the realization is going to hit a lot of them that a Biden presidency would be disastrous. And WRT polls, all you have to do is look back at 2016. Hillary had a similar lead in the polls in June. Hell, she had a substantial lead right up until she didn’t on election night. So, polls, schmolls — pretty meaningless at this point.

      As usual, Spook, I am with you 100%.

      I’ve known a couple of really smart people whose brains just run at different speeds than their mouths, and I see that with Trump. Like my new inability to write by hand because I am so used to a keyboard that my writing can’t keep with with my thoughts so I leave out letters or word fragments or even words, I often see Trump obviously having trouble syncing his speech with his thinking. The result is sometimes annoying speech patterns, and thought fragments that come across in those cringeworthy episodes you refer to.

      You all might remember how stridently I was against nominating Trump back in 2016. It wasn’t that I was worried about him as president, just that I thought he would make a terrible candidate, for the reasons we have just discussed. I figured after Obama and with Hillary being the other option he would be a better choice as president no matter what he did. And like you I have been really impressed with the job he has been doing. I am even finding myself respecting the same thing that always got on my nerves before—his implacable sense of who he is that is now allowing him to just ignore the escalating insanity of the Left and just keep doing his job.

      The ONLY reason to support Biden is that he is not Trump, and I think a lot of that support can be bled off through a campaign that openly addresses that Identity aspect of the election and then points out its dangers. We also need a campaign strategy that comes right out and identifies the Leftist antics of the past few weeks as nothing more than efforts to keep people from paying too much attention to Joe Biden I can’t help but think that the repeated message that “Democrats are willing to see cities burned and the nation torn apart by anarchy if that is what it takes to keep people from paying too much attention to Joe Biden” would get a lot of attention from the squishies in the middle.

    We do not have systemic racism in this country. We have a lot of systemic ignorance, a lot of systemic victimization, and far too much systemic Leftism. Black Lives Matters is purely a marxist front group using black Americans as pawns, and the Democrat party is wholly complicit.

    Democrats should be considered domestic terrorists and treated as such. They are at war with America and all traditional Americans and the sooner we realize that the better chance we have to save the country. If we continue to think these are simply policy differences, then our country will surely be lost.

We might suffer some rough patches along the way, but the spirit of freedom is too ingrained in the American consciousness to ever be permanently extinguished.

      Does this corporation actually support the violent overthrow of our government, as stated as a primary goal of Marxism and therefore of the “trained Marxists” and committed ideologues who formed Black Lives Matters to advance Marxist agendas, or is it just headed by people too stupid or lazy to look into the movement and learn the truth about it and then find other ways to support racial justice and equality?

    M. Noonan, can you explain why my comment on your post was deleted? I merely pointed out that your claim that the increase in COVID-19 cases is because of the protests is not borne out by where the current outbreaks are occurring. I’ve noticed that many times my comments disappear without explanation. Is there a rationale or convention to follow here?

      From what I’ve seen you’ve had several comments deleted. I can’t speak for the moderator, but one comment in particular several days ago stuck in my craw but was deleted before I could respond. I don’t remember the exact wording, but you accused me of threatening to take up arms if Trump loses. I hate it when people put words in my mouth. I and millions like me would take up arms if someone is elected (or just simply “burns the system down” as one BLM spokesperson threatened) whose goal is to fundamentally transform the United States from a constitutional republic into a socialist state. No different than this from the Declaration of Independence:

      “When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume, among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”

      Now it’s entirely possible that the United States could simply split apart into free and socialist areas without armed conflict — not probable but possible. If I had my druthers, I would prefer to live as one free country, and no one on the Republican side is suggesting anything other than that..

        And now that I think about it, I do vaguely remember responding to a comment of yours about taking up arms. Taking up arms if someone is elected whose goal is to fundamentally transform the United States from a constitutional republic into a socialist state brings up a couple of interesting things:

        1. Such a person would be elected by the American people, so taking up arms implies that you would reject American democracy because you don’t like the result. How do you determine when to reject democracy in America?

        2. Regarding a transformation from a constitutional republic to a socialist state, what do you mean by that? True socialism means that the means of production, etc., is owned and controlled by the government. Do you fear that? Or is a beefed up social welfare program (e.g., universal healthcare) enough for you consider taking up arms?

        Just wondering.

You used the word “elected.” If not in a free and fair democratic election, then how? Of course I understand that we elect representatives to make laws and carry out government on the public’s behalf. But at virtually every level, these representatives are elected democratically, no? Even with the presidency, all 50 states use a popular vote to determine its electors to the Electoral College. So that’s what I meant by American democracy. I’m surprise that was controversial.

        Ronald Reagan once said, “Democracy is worth dying for, because it’s the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man.” By saying that you would resort to armed conflict in the event that you don’t agree with the results of an election seems to indicate that you are willing to dying to subvert democracy.

        I’m not preening, just trying to understand retired spook’s position, and how it comes across to me.

        Regarding the recent protests and associated violence, the protests were in response to police killing a black man in Minneapolis and other similar incidents that have occurred over the last few years. I think the violence was mainly caused by opportunists of all types and political persuasions.

        I have not participated in any protests nor any violence, so your claim that I’m in the process of doing that is false. But if I did peaceably protest, my right to do so would be protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution. And if the government attempted to deny the right of the people to peaceably protest (as happened at Lafayette Square outside the White House), then that would be grounds to oppose the government, no?

        But isn’t everything imposed by the government a “policy choice”? Confiscation of property for redistribution to others is, after all, just a “policy choice”.

        But…let’s back up. Let’s take that sunshine-and-lollipops word “choice” out of the equation. Because under Leftist governance there is very little “choice”. At its core, Leftism is about the consolidation of power in the hands of the few, and that leaves very little “choice” to the masses.

        So now we are a little closer to the truth—that these things can be considered “policies”. And we have seen a lot of Leftist policies we have found unacceptable, like promoting street living and its accompanying filth, disease and crime. Like mob rule, including rioting. Like trying to erase our history. Like continuing to protect a once-free press, originally protected so it could provide truth to citizens, even after it has become nothing but a propaganda arm of one political voice and either hiding or lying about truths that do not promote the agenda of that voice. Like weaponizing federal agencies to be used to bludgeon citizens who do not echo that voice.

        Try as you might to sanitize Leftist tyranny as mere “policy choices“, we know better.

Easy to sneer at, with a “do you FEAR this?” smirk. Gee, don’t worry about increasing State control over every part your life—-after all, it’s just “beefed up social welfare programs”.

      But there is a spectrum of socialism, ranging from private ownership of production but with property (earnings) confiscated by the State for redistribution for political purposes all the way up to total ownership of production. The Left likes to keep a lot of words and labels floating around, such as “communism” and “socialism” and “fascism”. It keeps the Useful Idiots occupied and distracted and gives them plenty of material to bicker about. And, as we see with recent troll Binkie Boy, bickering is what they do.

      The thing about socialism is that it is so many things. It is a governmental model, based on a massively powerful Central Authority with little and often no power left to the people, a top-down imposition of law and policy created and administered by only a few elites. It is an economic system, in which at its heart there is no private property as everything is owned by the State. It might not be taken, people might be allowed its use and even the illusion of ownership with varying degrees of control and confiscation of proceeds but under socialism the State can step in and take it at any time. And it is a social system, in which the people are controlled by the State. That is, education is controlled by the State, the practice of religion is influenced and often controlled by the State. and the primacy of the family unit is corrupted by the State as it poses a challenge to the absolute authority of the State.

      It appeals to very few on a purely ideological basis. As a matter of fact, in this country most of its support comes from people who vote for its American representative, the Democrat Party, without even knowing a thing about its underlying political structure. They vote on emotion-based ISSUES, obediently led around by wish lists, and they vote on personality and identity.

      Here again we can take a look at Binkie. Like a good little troll hoping to herd opinion in one direction or another, he ignores the core foundation of Constitutional governance and how it is being implemented by this administration and focuses on the superficial and the silly, the frantic effort to appeal to EMOTION. “Aren’t you really just PISSED OFF that Trump is EXTOLLING THE VIRTUES OF PUTIN!!?? Doesn’t that just make you MAD ??” His role, and that of other troll cheerleaders, is not to provide information or engage in the kinds of discussion that encourage thought, but just to try to stir the pot, to try to get some anger going, to try to shift thinking into feeling.

      Sometimes there is a thin veneer of pretense at taking part in what is being discussed, but it is always momentary, just to try to poke holes in what was said, to contradict it or ridicule it, before getting back to the assigned job of getting negative emotions stirred up in hopes of bleeding off support for the one man and one administration that is posing the biggest threat to Leftist power gains in this country we have ever seen.

      You know how the Lefties are always restating what we say? “So in other words….” is a favorite intro of theirs. Let’s try it.

      SO IN OTHER WORDS we are supposed to completely overlook the Trump administration’s methodical gutting of the entrenched agency power that has become a de facto fourth branch of government, legislating without oversight (and evidently knowledge) of Congress, and get upset because he is being polite to another world leader?

      SO IN OTHER WORDS we are supposed to ignore his administration’s exposure of corruption at the highest levels of American government in its establishment of an American Stasi, using its own law enforcement and intelligence agencies to spy on citizens to find things to use against them, and instead get worked up over Trump’s employment of international diplomacy?

      SO IN OTHER WORDS we are supposed to be indignant and even outraged (to engage in some Cultural Appropriation from the Left, borrowing its favorite reaction to anything) because President Trump, the President of the United States, is focusing on the subversive efforts of the Left in this country instead of scolding the head of the Left in another country?

      SO IN OTHER WORDS we are supposed to accept assertions that Trump is doing it all wrong from people who have never accomplished anything but been stooges for an always-failed system they are determined to impose on this country?

      Got it. And my response is, simply, NO. So go sit on a stump and leave us alone.

        A senior Conservative MP is seeking an urgent question in the Commons on Monday about an alleged plot that a Russian intelligence unit offered Taliban-linked fighters bounties to kill coalition troops in Afghanistan.

        British security officials have confirmed to Sky News that the reports about the plot are true.

        I don’t think Russia should be in the G-8 for various reasons: election meddling, crimea, this Taliban mess etc.

Unlike you Lefty trolls, I don’t practice armchair decision-making because, unlike you Lefty trolls, I am smart enough to know I don’t have enough information or experience to make those decisions.

        And unlike you Lefty trolls I don’t spend my time snouting around looking for things to attack Trump about.

        Clearly we have nothing in common. I am a patriot, one who loves my country and who is also white—-Eastern European Irish white, the kind of white that glows in the dark—-and I am smart enough to know that being white and being a nationalist have absolutely nothing to do with judging people by the color of their skin.     This Party slogan appears twice in the novel, once in Book One, Chapter III, when Winston is thinking about the Party’s control of history and memory, and once in Book Three, Chapter II, when Winston, now a prisoner in the Ministry of Love, talks to O’Brien about the nature of the past. The slogan is an important example of the Party’s technique of using false history to break down the psychological independence of its subjects. Control of the past ensures control of the future, because the past can be treated essentially as a set of conditions that justify or encourage future goals: if the past was idyllic, then people will act to re-create it; if the past was nightmarish, then people will act to prevent such circumstances from recurring. The Party creates a past that was a time of misery and slavery from which it claims to have liberated the human race, thus compelling people to work toward the Party’s goals.

    The Party has complete political power in the present, enabling it to control the way in which its subjects think about and interpret the past: every history book reflects Party ideology, and individuals are forbidden from keeping mementos of their own pasts, such as photographs and documents. As a result, the citizens of Oceania have a very short, fuzzy memory, and are willing to believe anything that the Party tells them. In the second appearance of this quote, O’Brien tells Winston that the past has no concrete existence and that it is real only in the minds of human beings. O’Brien is essentially arguing that because the Party’s version of the past is what people believe, that past, though it has no basis in real events, has become the truth.

    This analysis of a book written in 1949, a book written to remind us of the trajectory of the development of tyranny and its inevitable outcome, summed up the rationale of today’s Left working so hard to destroy our history.

    And so we see it happening now. The Left knows that if we admire our past, respect it, we will act to re-create it, which means supporting the structures upon which that past was built. That is, personal liberty, government by the people, personal responsibility, allegiance to the country, allegiance to the Constitution.

    The Left has to present the past as “nightmarish” so they can posture as the alternative to that. But those of us who study and understand history know that with the Left the nightmare lies ahead, not behind.

    America is vulnerable, and now is the time to push for social revolution. It’s why lockdowns have been extended far past any justifiable usefulness. It’s why cities are on fire. And, it’s exactly the same way every communist revolution in history took place. Just look at the most recent example of Venezuela. The United States looks a lot more like a Maduro-era Venezuela than any of us would care to admit.

    Marxism and communism utilize a three-pronged attack to get rid of freedom. The first prong is the culture war. We’ve been seeing this in the U.S. for decades; cancel culture is just the latest iteration. In Venezuela, the culture war helped elect Chavez because he promised to care about the poor and give them things. Does that sound familiar?

    As soon as he was elected, revisionist history began. Statues were torn down left and right because the historical figures didn’t mesh well with the new culture. For anyone trying to keep score, you now know what stage of socialist revolution we’re in.

    When the culture war makes enough progress, there’s enough political backing to go into a planned economy. This is where the state rapidly boosts its own authority and power. In Venezuela, most industries were nationalized. The biggest industry there is oil, and it was one of the first to be nationalized. In the United States, the largest industry is health care. It’s not hard to connect these dots.

    In fact, the U.S. just used a health scare to enter into a planned economy. Remember when governors shut down most forms of commerce for “two weeks to slow the spread?” The U.S. economy is still largely shut down on gubernatorial order. We’re literally in a planned economy. That’s what creates the social unrest necessary for the final part.

    When everyone is too overwhelmed by poverty to think straight, the purges start. Political opponents are arrested. Brown Shirt style gangs oppress anyone who dares disagree with the new culture. You get top-down totalitarianism.

    The brilliance of the communist attack is that most of the brutality doesn’t come from the police or the military (at least at first). It comes from the fanatics who just watch their culture war bring ruin to their own home. Rather than learn and adapt from their failures, they double down. History is full of examples. Cities are burned, starvation gets worse and society collapses. It’s always the same story.

    Whatever the reason, I see that the little pests are back, with their whining and their nonsense and their pseudo-serious queries along the lines of “doesn’t this make you upset?” Poor dummies, so proud of their transparent efforts they just don’t understand how much they are scorned.

    But…I have read that their “success” is measured by how many responses they get, even responses pointing out their stupidity. Which leads me to my question—if this is true, why do we let this blog contribute to their post count? If they are here, they have to be answered—those steaming piles of mental excrement can’t just sit there.

        I still proudly wear my “American By Birth. Southern by the Grace of God.” t-shirt but it tends to only offend people that have no idea about the “War of Northern Aggression.” It is kind of like, in response to an earlier post about the G-8, I am a fan of the “US out of the UN. UN out of the US” until people much smarter than me reminded me of “Keep your friends close. Keep your enimies closer.” reasons as to why we still need the UN.

        What I would like to see is the government out of private colleages including cutting off all Chienese / Russian money and student access. I am not an isolationist but it is time to regain control. It appears we have completely lost two generations of snowflakes we will have to overcome.I believe it is time again for a pause until assimilation.

        Even though the Civil war was not started over slavery–it ended that way and America has over 600,000 examples as to why we are the best Country in the World. Not perfect but always tring to perfect. We ended slavery faster than any other Country IIRC.

      Hey–people rag on each other, all the time, and the way they do that is to start with a characteristic or identifier—tall, short, thin, fat. black, latino, bald, whatever. Normal people—-that is, people whose very sense of self is not rooted in victimhood—-understand this, and don’t whine and snivel about being called “gimpy” because of a limp, or “chromedome” because of baldness. It’s give and take, usually without malice.

      And it doesn’t necessarily indicate a negative attitude. When I heard a woman tell a guy “Oh, man up and stop being such a p***y” it didn’t indicate a demeaning attitude toward women.

      Sometimes I think this new conviction of being guaranteed life in a protective bubble where you never have to hear anything that doesn’t make you happy is one of the reasons our society is falling apart. This whining hypersensitivity is fed by the theme that it is justified because it really has deeper and more virulent meanings than the words or context indicate.

      I have a feeling this guy is blaming a lack of popularity in the clubhouse on his partial blackness. Even THAT has him freaked out—“oh, what do I check, black or white, it is just sooooooo upsetting!”

    Something interesting is happening in the precious metals market. Gold is trading at an 8-year high ($1,798) and Silver is trading at a 4-year high ($18.57) Usually when investors flee to gold and silver something bad is on the horizon. Maybe the radical Left is finally going to start the civil war they’ve been threatening since Trump was elected.

      All I can say is, if they are foolish enough to push it to physical warfare beyond gangs of thugs beating up unarmed civilians, it won’t be a very long war.

      But as I said earlier in an email to a mutual friend, I think that though the Left has been laying the foundation for a violent takeover of the nation if they can’t quite pull off the bloodless coup they and their fellow travelers in Congress and the military have been working on they probably know we aren’t quite there yet. But they have to rush it, even with the risks inherent in pushing too far too fast (the risk of alienating so many Americans they push back and reelect Trump and give the GOP the House and the Senate and a lot of governor seats and state legislature offices) the biggest risk to them is just sitting back and letting Trump coast to a win. They have to do SOMETHING and they have to do it NOW.

      Because a second term for Trump, with the power it carries (no need to tone down rhetoric or actions in anticipation of another campaign) would be devastating for the Left. One or two more SCOTUS nominations, a slew of district and federal judgeships and even more gutting of the entrenched power elites would set back the Leftist movement for a decade, at least. And they know it.

      I would guess that if they are not successful in derailing the Trump Train this election cycle they will escalate the violence, pushing it into something closer to armed rebellion openly against the government itself, soon after the election. And if that happens I doubt it would ever reach down to the citizen level

      Right now Trump is being presented with a list of possible military promotions, with “warnings” from the Left to “not interfere”. But he knows he has complete control not just over who gets promoted but who gets to keep his rank, and I am quite confident that he knows. of those names on those lists, who he would like to promote. A quick purge of Leftist flag officers and appointment of true patriots, combined with quick and decisive action by National Guard troops, would probably quell an effort to mount a serious uprising. A handful of Marxist police chiefs and mayors would not be able to stand up to a serious slap-down.

      Having said that, if some diehards did try to take violence to the people, they might be able to wipe out a bunch of urban types, mostly women and children and clerks, but let them get into the Heartland and they wouldn’t know what hit them.

      I wish the Leftist bully-boys would have to watch this video. There re 3141 counties in the United States and I would bet that more than 2000 of them, possibly even more, could post something just like this, directed not at a local gang but at Antifa and similar subversive and violent groups—-and mean every word.

      Did you see the thugs back down when a middle-aged couple drew down on them? Watching that woman wave her pistol around didn’t strike me as all that intimidating unless I was worried about a stray bullet, but the “courage” drained right out of those wannabe thugs, probably down their pant legs, and I think even gang bangers would shrivel up and blow away faced with people like the ones in this video.
