Purge, or Liberation?

As the social media purge of all dissent continues, I posted on Twitter the Rules for On Line Life. They are proving popular. Most are just common sense: the crucial thing is to move to new media and don’t say or do stupid things.

I’ll be terminating my Twitter and Facebook accounts as soon at the other social media platforms have got themselves back up and running smoothly (for Parler, that might be a couple weeks as Amazon axed their servers because Parler refused to censor). If you do social media, you’ll be able to find me at Gab (@ Mark_N_Author) Parler (@ MarkENoonan) and CloutHub (@ Mark_Author). I’m also on this thing called Rumble (MarkNoonanAuthor) which I guess is a sort of replacement You Tube. I’m not quite sure the Purge is working out as planned – what is happening is that the Right is now dispersing to smaller, harder to track platforms which are going to be increasingly out of the reach of the Tech Giants. This is good for us, bad for them.

As for me, I’m glad to be saying goodbye to the Tech Giants. I’ll probably have more time for writing and other things that I actually enjoy. Most importantly, I won’t be on their platforms making them money while also essentially having a permanent spy trying to find something to destroy me over.

I’ve got to ask the obvious question: are blogs like this in danger of being eliminated? I assume you don’t own your own server/s.

    • Mark Noonan January 10, 2021 / 6:59 pm

They are owned by Word Press…which I guess could ban us some day!

Also now a site called Gab, IIRC has documented or has started to document all of politicians in their own words. No BS cuts but the full videos, etc. Never been part of “social media” and don’t think I am going to start; however, I am hoping Parler finds a new home and everyone unites against this massive erosion of free speech.

Think they (Facebook, Google, Twitter) might have also shot themselves in the foot over section 230 protections. Is it just me or would anyone else name their company after a “Twit.”

Blogs are no exception; however, they can be run on smaller sets of servers that would require an ISP to actually kill. Talking about shooting oneself. If an ISP did that they would be financially dead. Then again, for example, I could set up a rack of servers and gain access to several networks like UUNet and promote whatever. Normally and ISP relies on 5 or 6 networks to transfer data from peer to peer so everything runs smooth out where we live.

I can explain how it all works but it would just make your head hurt as it does mine every time I think about it. Oh, and I would not put mine in a bathroom.

What they are doing is forcing us on the right to go to alternates – which will be harder to track and which will allow us to fly under the radar.

A quote from a GAB poster:

China has a state-run media. America has a media-run state.

My view: Lin Wood is a Democrat operative working to discredit the Right and to get alternate sites deplatformed.

      • Amazona January 10, 2021 / 7:10 pm

Lots of False Flag allegations floating around. I don’t agree with this one. The personal cost to Lin Wood for making statements he can’t back up would be so immense it is hard to imagine what might prompt him to say them if he can’t. Ditto for Sidney Powell.

This leads me to the theater of the Dominion “lawsuit” against Powell. This is nothing but a blatant bid for attention to their claim that what she said was false. There is no way Dominion is going to risk going into court to prove that she lied. This is just more of the Left’s use of media to spread the impressions of wrongdoing–like claiming to impeach Trump and the other lies about what happened in DC. All he would have to do would be to produce the public records of what he said. But they know there are a lot of really easily led and manipulated people out there who will murmur “Where there’s smoke there’s fire so he must have done something really bad”.

What web mail on Century Link is now blocked?

My email is webmail on CenturyLink, and it’s not blocked, at least not as of 30 seconds ago.

It opens for me just fine. I think it’s a spoof. It’s a message from Trump on something called Parlay that he has invoked the Insurrection Act, mass arrests to follow.

      • Amazona January 10, 2021 / 8:32 pm

OK…interesting timing as I just posted a comment on what might very well be an effort to discredit Q-Anon by having fake posts on truly crazy topics.

I’m also pretty sure that Trump did not accidentally sign on to “Parlay” instead of “Parler”. When I went through the Apple app store to sign up for Parler, though, even though I put “Parler” in my search what came up was “Parlay” and I had to scroll past a few Parlay ads to get to Parler.

These people truly are desperate. There might be a few tittering nincompoops out there pranking people, but I think there is also a very real, very desperate, very panicky effort to shut down anything Trump might possibly do or so, or at least make it sound insane. Nancy pretending to be worried about Trump still controlling the “nuclear football” is a perfect example of that.

Yeah, I don’t think the President has done that. It’s a conspiracy theory going around that the President has “invoked” the insurrection act. The military not in DC on the orders of the President, but they are there to protect the congress and Joe Biden. They’re supposed to be there for the next 20 some days. About 27-8 days I think.

A lot of these sites are pushing these conspiracy theories to drive traffic to their channels, webpages.

I have not read a single Q-Anon post and barely know anything about it. What I think I know is that someone started using this label to post some anti-Left information, or at least claims, and suddenly it was being widely ridiculed as tinfoil hat nonsense. However, the bits I heard about its original postings did not seem nuts at all. This led me to wonder if Q-Anon was one of those voices that had to be silenced, and the weapon of choice was to post some utter nonsense under the flag of Q-Anon to discredit it.

That is an Alinsky tactic, and very easy to do, just as it was easy to slip into TEA Party gatherings and then when media cameras showed up start to hold up Nazi flags and racist signs. No harder than putting on a MAGA hat and breaking into the Capitol building and then bellowing “Let’s burn it all down!” when spying a camera.

In the “Wanna see just how stupid we really are?” segment of Dem obsession with Trump, they want to impeach him after he is out of office.

House Majority Whip James Clyburn told CNN media activist Jake Tapper that House Democrats will wait until after former Vice President Joe Biden’s first 100 days in office to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

“We’ll take the vote that we should take in the House, and (House Speaker Nancy Pelosi) will make the determination as to when is the best time to get that vote and get the managers appointed and move that legislation over to the Senate,” he said.

Clyburn added, “It just so happens that if it didn’t go over there for 100 days, it could — let’s give President-elect Biden the 100 days he needs to get his agenda off and running, and maybe we’ll send the articles sometime after that.”

Do they not understand that the only penalty that can follow conviction by the Senate is removal from office?

Or do they secretly believe that Trump will still be IN office? Hmmmm

    • Retired Spook January 10, 2021 / 10:46 pm

Or do they secretly believe that Trump will still be IN office? Hmmmm

I had not thought about THAT possibility. Too funny!

    • Jeremiah January 11, 2021 / 1:08 am

If I understand it correctly, impeachment twice means that it prevents the person holding office from ever holding office again. I disagree with the impeachment, because President Trump hasn’t committed any offenses that rise to the level of an impeachable offense. I mean, what has he said or done that reaches that level? Some say he “incited the riot at the Capitol” … I listened to his speech before people walked to the ellipse, and never once did I hear him say anything that would lead people to become violent. In fact, in his speech many times he said “be peaceful.” And after it was known that things had gone the other way against his wishes, by Antifa and BLM, he even said “this does not represent who we are. Go home now…in peace!”

No, there’s two factors at play here…the Democrats 1. Hate President Trump, and 2. they are afraid of him. Afraid of him, because they got caught stealing an election, and committing treason by certifying a false election outcome. He has the proof that the proof from Italy that Obama with George Soros’ money ordered the embassy in Italy to use the military satellites be used to interfere with the vote count on the dominion machines. They even have a witness under affidavit to testify to the fact. They know he has it all. That’s why they want him out as fast as they can get him out, because they fear being prosecuted for their crimes.

I’m really impressed by the intensity of the new anti-Trump narrative. It is really quite a spectacle. I even saw a claim that most Americans want him to resign, but yesterday I saw something expressing amazement that his approval ratings had gone up.

There is such a focused and coordinated effort to not just get rid of him but utterly and totally destroy him in every way it is having the opposite effect on me. Knowing what I do know—-that relative to the riots and violence we have been seeing all year what happened on Wednesday was a 2 or 3 on a scale of 10—-and what I suspect, which is organized efforts by the Left to infiltrate the Trump supporters and incite what did happen, I can only see the ferocious drumbeat of the carefully scripted and dutifully parroted narrative as reflective of a very deep concern by the Left that Trump is still very very dangerous to them.

Sheer spite and malice, no matter how deep they run or how they define the American political Left, are still not enough to explain this. And it makes me wonder if Patrick Byrne and General McInerney and even Lin Wood and Sidney Powell might turn out to be the ones with the real inside story on this whole thing.

Of course the Left is aided by “conservatives” eager to jump on what they seem to think is going to be the winning team. Tonight I saw Kimberly Strassel piously bemoan the horrible awfulness, nearly too terrible to even talk about, of “thousands of Trump supporters invading the Capitol”. Yeah, right. Thousands of people. And all of them Trump supporters. Kimberly needs to get a grip.

There are a lot questions to be answered, and jostling for position as most eager to turn on Trump is not going to help sort it out. Why did the prior knowledge of Antifa plans to infiltrate Trump supporters and incite trouble suddenly fall off the radar? Why were there so few Capitol police there, and why, if they are really just security guards weren’t they backed up by police? Who came in in white shuttle buses, to be escorted into the building? Why did the Capitol police either open barricades or only make token efforts to stop people from coming in? Who has the laptop?

More to the point, why isn’t anyone openly asking these questions, instead of just melodramatically reading from the same hyperbolic script?

    • Jeremiah January 11, 2021 / 1:29 am

I’m like Gen. McInerney, I believe it it was McConnell, Pelosi, Schumer, and the DC mayor who ordered the police to stand down, as they do in other states where Democrats have control. And as someone else said, Ashli would still be alive if she had on one of those pink genitalia hats like the liberal feminists wear at their rallies, but no because she had on a red MAGA hat, and the American flag tied around her she was a target. I believe that was ordered by Schumer and Pelosi, too. Those two are thoroughly under the control of Satan.

Once Antifa and BLM were let in, then it was the MSM’s to immediately set the narrative, that all Conservative patriots are “violent terrorists,” and that narrative will be used in Congress as the backdrop for sweeping changes in legislation for gun-control, and making life most miserable for anyone who supports President Trump, and like-minded Conservative Patriots in general.

      Tough times ahead!

  7. Amazona January 11, 2021 / 11:53 am

I am beyond disgusted at just how quickly we’ve been gaslighted into a narrative that Is. Just. Not. True. Imagery reminiscent of 9-11?! I’m sorry. I must have failed to notice the two airplanes filled with hundreds of passengers crashing into the Capitol building, demolishing it and killing 3,000 people. Such a reference belittles the loss of of those people that day and the thousands of Allied troops who died in order to bring the perpetrator to justice. But that’s how it is now. False comparisons everywhere.

Stormed?! Please! Aside from a couple of bozos who broke a window to get in, I clearly saw Capitol Police opening doors for protestors to enter, while appearing to cordially chat with them as they strolled through the building. As I’ve mentioned previously, the concerned Americans strolling through Statuary Hall, were all staying inside the velvet guide ropes, surely not the actions of a rabid mob bent on violence or chaos as promoted by the media and now my own church. Stormed? Tell that to American GIs who actually did storm “bloody Omaha” beach, that is, if you can find one. There aren’t many left.
    ………………..

There was one fatality that has been confirmed as directly a result of a possibly unlawful act.** That fatality was that of a U.S. Air Force Veteran who was shot by police while she was crawling through a hole in a door on her stomach and as such, absolutely no threat to anyone. My review of the stills taken at the scene, also showed law enforcement officers on her side of the door looking very relaxed as they made no effort to stop her… stop her before she was shot by another officer on the other side of the door.

How many art works were damaged or destroyed? How many fires were set? How many people actually did break windows or doors?

    • Retired Spook January 11, 2021 / 12:18 pm

I suspect over the days and weeks to come, and depending to some extent on communications venues available and free from censorship, we’ll see lots of cell phone video from inside the Capitol made public. We’ll see who was doing what.

      • Amazona January 11, 2021 / 1:19 pm

I have no problem believing that some real Trump supporters got caught up in the moment, particularly if it appeared that there was tacit permission to enter the building, as seen in some of the videos of officers appearing to open barricades and engage in friendly exchanges with the people swarming in. I can see some Trump supporters even going so far as to take souvenirs. There is a poster from Despair.com, whose motto is MOTIVATIONAL PRODUCTS DON’T WORK. BUT OUR DEMOTIVATOR® PRODUCTS DON’T WORK EVEN BETTER that says “None of us is as dumb as all of us” and another that reads “Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups”. I’ve mentioned the phenomenon of the pack mentality, and it is even more energized by the perception of approval. But stupid does not mean malicious.

What I cannot see is true Trump supporters, rallying to defend him and help his cause, planning to engage in serious violence, then engaging in violence and vandalism on the scale we saw, which was guaranteed to sabotage what the protest was organized to support. What we saw when true violence ensued was exactly what we saw in the professional riots that took place all year, incited by the same people whose online chatter was about doing the same thing in DC, except doing so disguised as Trump supporters.
