I think McCain should blow his whole wad on California and NY. What does it matter Pollster.com has California 58%-30% for Obama and New York 52%-33% Obama. he should ignore the fact the gap seems to be widening.

I think this is a great idea. This is McCain’s chance to really lock this election down. I hope he throws as many resources as possible into CA and NY.

I agree,
Its always nice to dream. But the big problem is that the citizens of this nation do not want a third term for team McBush.

“This morning’s news in the Washington Post is that he’s revised his positions on abortion and troop withdrawal! His supporters are being sent to hell in a handbasket and it has to be stopped!” - Former Clinton campaign manager Terry McAuliffe
Oh it’s going to be a fun summer.

neocon,
Do you have a link for that quote?

It’s a good read.

Of course I realize now I wrongly attributed the quote to McAuliffe, nevertheless, this is the sentiment of the left and it demonstrates their intent to force Obama to stop “refining” his issues.
It will make for a fun summer.

neocon,
I hate to break it to you, but the quote was from Donald Sutherland. Great actor and member of the far left. He is actually criticizing Obama for being influenced by McAuliffe.

I see you already caught the misquote. I agree with you that it is going to be an interesting summer, although maybe not the way you think.

McCain already owns So. Calif. except for inner city L.A. and Hollywood. And my friends in the counties north of San Fran to the Oregon border say he is the man up there too.
The rest of the state is mostly red anyway.
We just need to overcome the Nanny Staters and the gay block in San Fran. and Marin county and the L.A. madness I mentioned above.

Good grief, the McCain CA & NY strategy? Lord, this is just sad. Neo “I GUARANTEE IT” con! Two thumbs up!
And then this quote from Bush: “Let’s see, Iraq and troops. Okay. First of all, there was — the people have — okay, you got to have benchmarks. I think there was 15 benchmarks — 18 benchmarks. And one way to evaluate progress is to measure what’s actually happened to what was expected, and the progress is undeniable. What happened was security was such that the politics and the economics could move forward. And for a period of time, that was not the case. That’s why we sent more troops in. The combat brigades of the surge will finally come home. The last one will be home in July. So we are in a policy of return on success.”
I know he’s been like this for years, but what the hell is that guy saying?

I like John McCain but I would advise him to bet his money elsewhere. His Iraq policy won’t fly in CA
13. Mark Noonan | July 8th, 2008 at 12:58 am
What,
It won’t fly in San Francisco and Los Angeles - but that ain’t all of California.
As far as California goes it isn’t so much that Democrats are overwhelmingly powerful as GOPers having trouble generating enough enthusiasm to get people to the polls. Can McCain do this? Hard to say - but his real opening is the relatively poor showing Obama has made amongst Hispanic voters…

Matt:
You really think McCain can pull off an upset win in New York and California??
I’ve got this nifty bridge in Brooklyn i’d like to sell you, then…..
15. Sergei Andropov | July 8th, 2008 at 3:35 am
He is doing this waaaay too early. The only way he’s going to win California is if he dramatically announces his intention to campaign there the day before the election, in the hopes that we’ll all be so paralyzed with laughter that we can’t make it to the polls.

Dumb move to waste time trying to win California.
If California is winnable for McCain, then he’s already got the election by a landslide margin, and he might as well put his feet up and relax, ’cause he’s got it in the bag.
The reality is that the election is NOT in the bag. McCain has to have the good sense forget Democrat-locked California and focus on swing states, all the while hoping against hope that Obama craters so bad by self-inflicted wounds that even the fawning, in-the-tank MSM can’t carry Obama to victory.

Yeah, let us see McCain make a battlegroung of a state on which he has at least a 12-point disadvantage…
