So, It’s About The Vetting Process?

September 2nd, 2008 at 09:30pm Matt Margolis

As I’ve been watching the media trying to tear down Sarah Palin, it seems like one of the common questions is about the vetting process and whether or not she was “properly vetted.”

You know the media and the Democrats are desperate when their line of attack includes questions the vetting process.

No one asked about Obama’s vetting process when he picked fellow plagiarizer Joe Biden, whose son is a registered lobbyist, and who earlier this year attacked Obama for not having the necessary experience to be president.

Democrats are so absolutely brain dead that they will burn the house down with themselves inside. And that is exactly what they’re doing.

Don’t think for a minute that millions of women around the nation aren’t paying attention, and realizing just how much liberals actually support women, which is not at all. Especially if that woman stands between them and power.

I think since the Reverend Jeremiah Wright [remember him?] kerfuffle garnered so much attention on the political stage this past spring I think it’s high time the nation and the world examined the mind set and the sermons of Wasilla Assembly of God Church pastor Ed Kalnins. Google the name and remember if you say bad things about Bush, you will go to Hell.

Sarah Palin though went one step too far because she is a political amateur. She took the microphone at the Wasilla church where she was saved and gave a long and disturbing speech that did not sound like any sort of rational conversation that was being offered by a sitting governor, but by a firebreathing fundamentalist that should never be a heartbeat from the leadership of the free world.

Not only is Biden a serial plagiarizer, he is a serial liar. No MSM coverage of that, just a pregnant teenager and a husband’s DUI when he was 22, but no MSM coverage of Barack Obama’s cocaine use at 22, just the husband of the VP candidate.

Coverage of Palin’s youngest claiming it is her grandchild, no coverage of Obama’s reported homosexual activities. 3 front page articles in the NYT today about Palin’s daughters pregnancy. Never an article about BO’s cocaine use or his reported homosexual encounters. And of course MSM no investigation of his relationship with terrorist Wm. Ayers, but they’re crying about vetting of Palin who has a pregnant daughter. Uh, I mean, isn’t a Presidential candidate’s friendship with a terrorist or his cocaine use much more relevant than a daughter’s pregnancy.

The only way to vet the Dems is through the internet or talk radio.

  • 4. Pain  |  September 2nd, 2008 at 9:47 pm

It is truly sad that in desperation to have political power the Republican party would allow the Union, once saved by Lincoln and once saved by Roosevelt, to be broken by McCain and destroyed by Palin.

  • 5. Fantasyteam  |  September 2nd, 2008 at 9:49 pm

You are clueless. The American people could care less about the vetting process itself. If the process was not thorough before they put Palin out on the national stage what else is new for Republicans. What this is about is McCain’s decision making process. He was all set to pick Joe Lieberman on Friday. But backed into a corner by the far right wing of the party he backed down and took their choice. Are such rash and reckless decisions expected to be the norm should he enter the White House?

Plagiarism, drug use and homosexuality are not disqualifiers for Democratic candidates like premarital sex is for the children of Republicans. It is the conservatives who elevated themselves to heights that they know if knocked from will lead to their demise. The problem WhatChange is that the right wing paints itself as “without sin” to such a great degree that when they act with human emotion passion or desire it is seen as disgusting to the millions of other “holier than thous” who feel their way is the only way to salvation/lower taxes/world domination.

    Amen.

  • 8. Mark Noonan  |  September 2nd, 2008 at 9:56 pm

    Pain,

Even if your ignorant theory about the GOP being holier-than-thou were correct, the fact remains that it is Governor Palin’s 17 year old daughter you are attacking. Have you no shame? A hundred years ago the things the left is doing here would result in pistols at dawn…

  • 9. neocon  |  September 2nd, 2008 at 10:07 pm

    Frederick darling,

Amen? What evangelical church do you belong to?

    Pain,

You have such retarded, and distorted view of poeple in general, and specifically conservatives, that it’s even hard to respond. I actually feel sorry for someone with such dminished mental skills that I will just let your posts go unchallenged from now on.

And you seriously do need a remedial writing class. That post was very poorly written.

Frederick on the other hand is a completre piece of shit. Why did you run from me the other night?

We didn’t finish our debate. Why? Are you scared?

  • 10. neocon  |  September 2nd, 2008 at 10:11 pm

    Cav,

You’re also a complete piece of shit, but I am sure you know that by now. Considering this country is nearly 90% Christian, why would you think that Palin could not represent them?

Is it only in your ignorant elitist mind that you consider a strong belief in God a disqualifier?

And if we say bad things about Bush, we go to Hell? Since when? And don’t you think Hell is a good place? So why would that be bad?

Do you think you can focus long enough to answer these questions?

  • 11. neocon  |  September 2nd, 2008 at 10:14 pm

    Frederick,

Answer me you mindless twerp. What the hell takes you so long?

What mental handicap do you battle? Are you spoon feeding your retarded sister Pain?

  • 12. neocon  |  September 2nd, 2008 at 10:15 pm

    Mark,

I am still considering pistols at dawn. Frederick is my first opponent.

  • 13. neocon  |  September 2nd, 2008 at 10:47 pm

Warning to the pitchforkers. I will not only expose your ideas as wrong and childish, but I will verbally assault you as well.

You, and your ilk, are poisoning our country and I will no longer tolerate it.

Take heed, every one of your posts here will be met with factual rebuttals and derision.

If you’re to young and immature to handle it, then go away.

  • 14. Nietzsche-Is-Pietzsche  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 12:14 am

    Neo-

Coming unglued as you are is only showing everyone you’re feeling weak and afraid that Palin and by extension McCain are going down the drain. The media and the American people are getting their first look at a woman that they had no idea existed until last week. I know you’ve already forgot but Obama has already gone through all of this long ago. He passed, beat the most powerful Democrat standing today, and now the media and the American people are comfortable with him. Palin has to have her trial by fire now. If she survives then fine but she isn’t going to get a free ride so cool down and pace yourself.

  • 15. Doug  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 2:04 am

It just shows the media is in bed with Obama. His campaign has been about questioning the judgement of McCain, and MSNBC, especially, has gone with the line that the vetting process shows a ‘lack of judgement’.

It’s no coincidence that on the morning of the announcement of Palin, NBC ran the line asking how many houses does this add to the McCain ticket. They had to have been told by the Obama campaign to run that line of questioning - expecting Romney to have been the VP pick.

    Did Obama Vet This?

Since we are going to ask about family issues, this seems much more serious than a pregnant teenager. A son and a brother of Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.) are accused in two lawsuits of defrauding a former business…

  • 18. Rich  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 9:38 am

So we have a situation where one politician’s middle name is off limits but another’s seventeen year old daughter isn’t? That should be the line Rush and the McCain camp slam the media and the libs with. Pain obviously does not know evengelicals or he would know that they actually support pregnant teens. Speaking of Biden, lets talk about how many deferments he had. Isn’t the left wing definition of a chickenhawk somone who votes to go to war but did not serve? Here we have Biden with five deferments for a non-existant condition and he has a complete pass? The same VP candidate who the media is touting as a foeriegn policy expert, and yet he disagreed with Obama on the Iraq War , which of course is Obama’s so called signature issue. So if Biden is such a foreign policy expert, was he right about the Iraq war or Obama?

    Fantasy (#5)

He was all set to pick Joe Lieberman on Friday. But backed into a corner by the far right wing of the party he backed down and took their choice.

Didn’t realize you were part of McCain’s VP selection committee?

Pain (#6) in response to WhatChange (#3)

“Plagiarism, drug use and homosexuality are not disqualifiers for Democratic candidates like premarital sex is for the children of Republicans.”

You are doing what the Democrats are attempting–comparing “candidates” to the children of candidates. Anything to obscure the actual issues via any abstruse method possible. Not answer a question by asking a total unrelated question. Attack anything other than the candidate on issues. Why not try to go head-to-head. Issue for issue. Presidential candidate (McCain vs. Obama) and VP to VP (Palin vs. Biden). That is what the MSM & Democrats are running from.

NIPS (#14) There are people outside both conventions that have no idea who Biden, Lieberman and a host of others are. People in the know, and political wonks have been talking about her for a good six months now.

BTW, Sen. Obama didn’t beat Sen. Clinton — he was handed it from the start by the super delegates and “party rules.” If they counted even Florida–She would have wiped the floor with him. Must be proud to be a part of a party that doesn’t trust it’s own members to make decisions like adults–but then again, I guess they know you better than I do.

#15 Doug & #17 Rich. Less not forget Sen. Biden’s son (Hunter–the lobbyist) who received over 3.4 Million USD in earmarks from Sen. Obama.

  • 20. Cory  |  September 8th, 2008 at 11:47 pm

I love the post that claims McCain was all set to pick Lieberman for VP! And how would you know that? You’ve been listening to too many far-left pundits who put that out in the media. McCain didn’t refute it nor did he refute all the other media folks who were “sure” he would pick Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee. The fact is McCain wanted to keep his VP choice a secret, just as Obama wanted to keep his a secret, until they were ready to announce them.

So, know what you are saying is true before you say it, otherwise you just make yourself look silly.

And by the way, Obama’s VP choice was certainly not a good one. Biden has been a Washington insider for 30 years - real cozy with the lobbyists, same old Washington politics. His voting record and his record of excessive earmarks and wasting of taxpayers money is horrendous - look it up!

McCain made a far better choice, someone who has actually fought for American taxpayers and won - even against her own party when necessary. Joe Biden has NEVER voted against his party for anything - he’s a “go-along, don’t rock the boat” kind of guy.
