A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, police said.
Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.
Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim’s car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter “B” into her face, Richard said.
“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,” he said.
The American Left, if we let them win, will usher in a new era of fascism that will rival George Orwell’s dystopian vision in 1984.
I am not being dramatic… The story above is hardly unique. I am merely responding to the truth that is very much in plain sight. I am dead serious.
God help us if Obama wins.
UPDATE: There are doubts being raised in the blogosphere about the legitimacy of the woman’s claim. The questions are certainly fair, and we will see what the investigation finds. Of course, as the victim of a politically motivated assault back in 2004, I find the premise of the story plausible. Even if it turns out to be a hoax, it still doesn’t change the fact that the American Left has become more extreme, violent, and intolerant. Mark informed me the other day that tires were slashed at a Sarah Palin rally in Las Vegas this past week. And there have been stories of vandalized cars and homes. There is even a story of a house being shot at for having McCain signs.
UPDATE, by Mark Noonan: As for me, I believe the story – it was reported out here in Las Vegas that some of the people who attended the Palin rally and had McCain/Palin stickers on their cars suffered tire-slashing. The left’s MO has long been this sort of thuggish intimidation – they want people to be afraid to speak their minds and openly proclaim their views in the public square. This sort of situation tends to make people doubt their own views – feeling isolated and surrounded by people who loudly proclaim the other side, it is easy for a person to think, “perhaps I’m just out of step?”. Its why the left also wants to excise all mention of God from the public square – they want that square reserved entirely for the leftwing party line so they no longer have to deal with those troublesome people who dare to disagree.
I’d like to believe that Obama would put a stop to this sort of thing but the pupil of Ayers will only view this as first-rate “community organizing”. We have a real big fight on our hands, and we must win – but, also, keep in mind that if we do win and Obama and his minions are in shell-shocked defeat on November 5th, it won’t be the end of it. These leftists and acolytes of Obama have convinced themselves the he’s already won, and it will be impossible to unconvince them – if they’ll perpetrate violence pre-election when they think they’re winning, imagine what they may do post-election if they are convinced the election was stolen from them.

The Republican manager said he is convinced he was targeted because of new McCain signs he added around his home.
“All I can tell you is this, I have a very good relationship with my neighbors,” Coverely said. “I mow my lawn. The only thing that has changed is I have two McCain signs in my front yard.”
Coverely said he has taken about 300 calls concerning stolen or vandalized McCain signs in the area.
“It says this campaign is getting vicious,” Coverely said.
Coverely said it appears Democrats are becoming more aggressive in the county.
“I wouldn’t say slipping, but I would say the Democrats have become far more aggressive in Seminole County because it is such a heavy Republican area,” Coverely said.

What have I to apologize for? The news story came across from credible sources and it is an action entirely in line with normal leftwing tactics – and, indeed, tactics we have seen used in this very election. That this poor woman is suffering from a mental defect doesn’t get your side off the hook for your persistent thuggishness against political opponents. I would have entirely discounted this if I didn’t have scores of examples at my finger tips of leftwingers using violence and intimidation just over the past 8 years or so – and volumes of examples over the past 50 years.
Clean up your side – make it so that any such story will be disbelieved; but don’t ask for an apology from me.

If you’re not going to apologise, you could at least update the story to indicate that the McCain supporter is a liar and is facing charges.
Margolis could apologise for his ‘dystopian vision’ line given that the incident says way more about McCain supporters than it does about Obama supporters now that it has been shown to be a hoax.
You could apologise for being so quick to paint a picture of what this says about Obama supporters even though the McCain supporter was the one engaging in criminal conduct.
You could apologise for being a smug, self-righteous asshole while you’re at it.

I have hundreds of examples at my finger tips of rightwingers using violence and intimidation over the past 8 years, but I don’t label McCain or Bush as Hitler and the Republicans as Nazis because of them. Both sides have people that do things they shouldn’t.
As to what you should to apologize for? How about jumping to conclusions and slimming millions of your fellow Americans over a bogus story. It was on your BLOG. YOU ADDED TO THE STORY. It’s called taking responsibility. Something that Republicans believed in at one time. There have been times in my life when I’ve screwed up. And while it has never been easy, I’m proud to say, I have always owned up to my mistakes. Maybe someday you will get to that point.

Apart from the fact that it turned out not be true. Apart from the fact that even if it turned out to be true, it would not have been representative an exclusively “leftwing tactic”, but a tactic engaged in by crazy individuals with perceived affinities on both sides.
Apart from those things… the thing I think needs an apology most is the insinuation of guilt by association. By tying Obama to Hitler the implication is that the Obama campaign conspires, condones and/or directs such attacks. That is what is most loathsome.
Additionally, not once was there any inclination by the proprietors of this site to do the Christian thing — to speak out against the violence, any violence, for whatever reason. Instead, what you and Matt did was propagate more fear and hostility. God help us indeed.

Wrong would have been to use it even if I knew it were false, or at least had a strong indicator that it was false. You and Margolis were quick to extrapolate from the original false story a generalised horror story about all Obama supporters, but lemme guess, the story as it now stands says nothing about McCain supporters huh? Just an isolated incident, yeah? And maybe that’s how any right-minded person would have seen it from the outset.
I clearly recall you saying a few weeks ago that bearing false witness was a sin of serious magnitude. What this race-baiting attention whore did is disgraceful. But not a shred of condemnation from anyone here.
Anyone with any capacity for critical thinking could see it was a hoax, or at least there was such a strong indication that it was one that any responsible person would not further use it to whip up political divisions as you and Margolis chose to.

You even said that you would be wrong if you “at least had a strong indicator that it was false.” Well, you did have exactly such an indicator: The girl’s picture. A “black eye” that’s clearly makeup, a backward B that, despite the description of having been “carved with a knife” appeared to not even break the skin. To lie one has to knowingly transmit a falsehood – something along the lines of claiming that Bush tricked us into going into Iraq; that is a lie and if you say it once you know it is a lie, then you have lied and may be called a liar. But if you say Bush tricked us into Iraq and by some bizarre set of circumstances you still don’t have the facts, then you have just transmitted an error and don’t need to apologize to anyone. See the difference?

A few posts back, I repeated some information I had read on a different blog. The information was wrong. Spook called me on it. I researched the information and found out I had made a mistake. I wrote a post admitting I made a mistake. I didn’t bring up other information supporting my case (and there was other information out there). I admitted my mistake and went on. It’s how I was raised. Apparently it’s not how you were raised.
Signs that you too may be a wingnut:
(1) Compare something to Hitler.
(2) Fan of conspiracy theories.
(3) Hallucinations involving socialism
(4) Extreme certainty of viewpoint, not much real data gets in.
(5) (often) Fundamentalist religious beliefs — young earth, creationism.
Many more, but that’s enough to do’er. By the way, spending = taxes => Bush was the biggest taxer in our history. Bush presides over nationalizing the financial system => Bush is a socialist. It goes on and on.
Hate begets hate. The Republicans aren’t bridging gaps. They are making chasms deeper and wider. This is the Republican legacy.

The Republicans have been in charge for 8 years. The Bush administration had a $150 billion surplus in 2001. By end of 2009 it will be a $2 trillion dollar deficit. The Bush(McCain/Palin) administration will cause many of you to lose your jobs and careers and your homes. They are also spending $10billion of your dollars every month in Iraq. How the hell does anyone spend $10 billion/month.
