So, Obama’s Connection To Ayers Is a “Distraction”…

…but Sarah Palin’s wardrobe is a legitimate issue?
HAT TIP: Domestic Divapalooza
UPDATE: My friend S.E. Cupp discusses this in a piece in the New York Daily News:
But all the makeup in the world can’t cover over this fact: The gleeful, personal attacks being waged by Democrats and pundits against Palin on this front are just the latest in a relentless and unprincipled season-long smear campaign against the Republican candidate for vice president. They are proof positive that because she is a conservative woman, Sarah Palin simply cannot win.
For months Palin has been mocked by the liberal elite as a hick from Alaska. Because she can’t explain the Bush Doctrine to Charlie Gibson’s satisfaction or otherwise gives less than perfectly crafted answers to questions, she’s an idiot. Her opponents have spent unparalleled amounts of time and energy trying to convince voters that she is not “just like you.” She’s even dumber.
But now, because the McCain campaign has budgeted some money for new clothes, questions about her intellect are shelved for another discussion, and her image takes center stage. Never mind that Republicans aren’t supposed to bring up William Ayers, Tony Rezko, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright or any other non “Issues” with a capital “I.” Now Democrats are hoping to make a serious issue out of Palin’s high heels, her glasses and her new suits.

Mark:
If you want to validate this Ayers affair (which I think is complete fabricated bulls*&^), try to use a more objective source than Fox News.

Lemme guess, you thought the Edward’s haricut issue was a distraction as well?
No, I thought not.

Fox News???
October 25th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
Yes, Ayers is a distraction. I’m glad you finally admit it. Well kind, of sorta.
This wouldn’t be news, if the McCain campaign wasn’t running as the Joe Sixpack representatives. Nor would it be news, if she had bought the clothes with her own money. What makes it news, is that the RNC used campaign money to give here and her family a makeover. That just seems a little wrong.

Lilly, how is the Ayers thing fabricated? Or, does “fabricated” now mean “things Defeatocrats do not want to talk about”?
Eh, I’m probably a racist for even mentioning Ayers.
October 25th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
Especially when McCain himself had derided the use of campaign finances on personal expenses. So, more conservative hypocrisy? Surprise, surprise…

William Teach:
The character assassination game has been played in every presidential election and it is all in the effort to try to distract the American voters from the underlying real issues. This to me is fabrication of a due process that should be based on policy and ability.
October 25th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
Oh, like the Obama camp attempting to smear McCain because he doesn’t use computers or email much? You mean like that?
Due process like the way Camp Barry has tried to silence critics?
Due process like the way Obama is accepting illicit campaign contributions?
In fact, lilly, Obama himself has said that his judgement and character matter. Associating with a known domestic terrorist matters, per Obama himself.

This all could have been nipped in the bud if Obama had come clean describing a purely professional relationship with Ayers.
Instead, we were subjected to one down play, one lie, and one excuse after the next.
“Just some guy who lived in my neighborhood.”
Is a far cry, from sharing an office for three years, introduction into politics in his home, book acknowledgments, etc etc etc.
Why didn’t Obama come clean? Why is he afraid of his professional relationship to Ayers? Ayers is a socialist, perhaps?
Comes down to judgement and that poor judgement has no place in the White House.
We all know if McCain was friends with someone in the KKK, this would be news. Oh wait, the libs are already friends with one who has.

It’s funny how the supposed ‘party of the working class’ uses Republican taxpayer’s money to make Sarah Palin pretty, oh so pretty!
At any rate, this really isn’t an issue…neither was the Bill Ayers faux controversy the McCain campaign was trying to conjure up.

Israeli Americans For Obama?
If Obama gets elected, Iran will continue its nuclear armament program while he tries to negoatiate with them and Israel will be forced to bomb them as quick as possible prior to him getting in the White House on January 20th 2009. Knowing that a naive Obama will negotiate with Iran while they build their nuclear arsenal is therefore a good thing because a known hesitation under Obama will require Israel to react.
Israel cannot count on Obama, they cannot count on him to take decisive action. Any Jewish American who will vote for arack Hussein Obama has got to take that into their calculation. Their choice of Obama could literally lead to another Holocaust.

Terror Morale = Obamas Timetable
Every sound bite, every campaign trail demand for time tables and withdrawals from Iraq or Afghanistan strengthens and emboldens our terrorist enemies. Such statements are like recruiting posters to the “faithful”, who know that if they can just keep up the pressure the Obama & The Democrats will walk away from Americas obligations as well as our duties to ourselves and the world.
These may be unwanted obligations but they are ours nonetheless. If we walk away we will face stronger terror recruiting and weakened Muslim governments who will ignore our cries to root out the breeding grounds for terror in their own lands for decades to come. If we leave before Iraq can stand on its own we will throw the oil markets into chaos and we will encourage terrorists to attempt to create Muslim states all over the region. We will then be faced with terrorism actively expanding and exporting toward the West.
We are at a historic crossroads and to some we have chosen a path that is unacceptable. Unfortunately walking away is not an option because we saw the results of that in the 1990’s and we need to fully support this war at all cost. Make sure you remember that when you consider walking away or support such actions. Millions may die based on the choices you make and countries may fall as happened when your parents & grandparents balked after the Tet Offensive in Vietnam. To our soldiers who have fought and died for hard won victories such an action to will mirror the hippie radicals who spit on them upon their return from Vietnam.
