As much as Obama will never admit it, Zombietime makes the case for why it is so.

Ok. We won. The Surge was an rousing success.
Now can we bring our troops home?

WHAT a donkroach, talking point, juvenile MORON!
FmrMarine, isn’t the definition of a donkroach a juvenile moron?
GREAT NEWS!!
Why don’t we let the troops decide when it’s time to come home, after all they are the ones there.
Deleted – patently absurd.
Do you have links to said information?
I’ve looked and I find NO information supporting your claim that the Iraqi parliament was not going to pass the status of forces agreement (SOFA) if it meant trusting Bush or McCain.
Deleted – patently absurd.
So Obama, as the best of warriors do, won the war before he even got started.
The same argument could be made for Reagan ending the Iranian hostage crisis the day he took office, i.e. he was such a profound warrior that the S.O.B.s just gave up.
Sorry, Max. I’m not allowed to help you with that link:-(
There’s always “teh google”.
As for Nov. 22nd, it’s already taken. How about January 19th? V.I. Day could provide a distraction from the blizzard of presidential pardons.
Terror Morale = Obamas Timetable
Every sound bite, every campaign trail demand for time tables and withdrawals from Iraq or Afghanistan strengthens and emboldens our terrorist enemies. Such statements are like recruiting posters to the “faithful”, who know that if they can just keep up the pressure the Obama & The Democrats will walk away from Americas obligations as well as our duties to ourselves and the world.
These may be unwanted obligations but they are ours nonetheless. If we walk away we will face stronger terror recruiting and weakened Muslim governments who will ignore our cries to root out the breeding grounds for terror in their own lands for decades to come. If we leave before Iraq can stand on its own we will throw the oil markets into chaos and we will encourage terrorists to attempt to create Muslim states all over the region. We will then be faced with terrorism actively expanding and exporting toward the West.
We are at a historic crossroads and to some we have chosen a path that is unacceptable. Unfortunately walking away is not an option because we saw the results of that in the 1990’s and we need to fully support this war at all cost. Make sure you remember that when you consider walking away or support such actions. Millions may die based on the choices you make and countries may fall as happened when your parents & grandparents balked after the Tet Offensive in Vietnam. To our soldiers who have fought and died for hard won victories such an action to will mirror the hippie radicals who spit on them upon their return from Vietnam.
We defeated Iraq the day we took the capitol back in 2003.
Now that’s interesting. A new class of comment deletion called “patently absurd”.
Tell me, Leo, would you be prepared to be interviewed for a potential book we’re working on? It looks at the right wing “Echo Chamber” and a part of it uses this blog, via the RSS feed, to “snapshot” each new comment as it’s posted, before you or other editors can delete it. All of these comments are then stored in a cached page so that we can see exactly what was deleted and when it was deleted, the apparent reason.
My email address is taken by the system when I post a comment, so if you’d like to be interviewed for the book, do let me know. We’d LOVE to feature your side of the story, especially since it appears you don’t bother following the editing rules.
I think this is a no-brainer for Obama. He pulls all of the troops out of the cities and villages and sends them home (this would be the majority of the troops) in his first six months according to this agreement reached under the Bush administration. Both sides can find some victory in this. He could really put the icing on the cake by creating a commission to oversee the transition and putting McCain in charge of it.
Deleted – complains about comment policy.
Arctic,
That sounds like an interesting book. Mark deleted a comment I made a couple days ago where I cited several recent news stories suggesting security in Iraq was deteriorating. He reason was that such articles promote “defeatism.” This from a man who references 1984 when he speaks about Obama.
I posted this comment earlier but as you can see it was deleted because I called Mark on his censorship and hypocricy.
It is good to know someone out there is capturing all this site’s hear no evil, see no evil method of journalism for posterity.
Come on, I dare you to delete this again. Prove me right.
