44 Percent of Voters Say “Bring Back Bush”

According to Public Policy Polling, 44 percent of voters would rather have George W. Bush back as president, while those who prefer having Obama has dropped to 50 percent.

What does this suggest?

Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that’s somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country’s difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans and especially ones like Rob Portman who are running for office and have close ties to the former President.

Given the disaster of the past year, almost anyone would be better than Obama, but definitely count me as a voter who would very much rather have Bush back in office.

I imagine it won’t be long before a majority of voters join me.

As Obama makes the masses appreciate President Bush, consider donating to the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

But, but, but — Bush’s approval rating when he left office 11 months ago was a dismal 23%. What could have possibly happened in that short time span to affect this massive a shift? BHOzo is simply doing exactly what he promised he’d do. How could anyone possibly be unhappy with a politician actually keeping his campaign promises?

  2. Simple, Spook … R-AAAAAAA-CISTS!!!

  3. uffy says:

I don’t want Bush back anymore than I want Obama the Corrupt Dem in office. What I find absolutely fascinating is the complete change in our democratic republic to a Marxist ideology and no one doing a thing about it.
The only people I see standing up to Obama are Palin and Cheney. Glen Beck had the guts to call Obama a Marxist. Obama and his corrupt DEM admin should be tried and prosecuted for unAmerican activities. The next TEA Party on DC should be a million all packing guns and surrounding the WH and Congressional Building.
Am I calling for an armed revolution? You betcha!

    Mark,
To show how foolish the poll is that you mention, here is more on that poll:

Finally 20% of voters, including 35% of Republicans, support impeaching Obama for his actions so far. I’m not clear exactly what ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ they are using to justify that position but there may be a certain segment of voters on both the right and the left these days that simply think the President doing things they don’t agree with is grounds for removal from office. I don’t think Obama has a lot to worry about on that front.

GOP: “Let’s impeach Obama!” for….. whatever.

  5. And 10% of dimocrats want Oblahblah impeached.

    —————————–

OK, 44% for Bush, 50% for Obama.

After considerable effort by the right-wing contingent to discredit, demean and disgrace the President, more Americans still prefer having Obama
as leader-in-chief than Bush. Who would have thought that the ravings of Limbaugh, Beck &
the other Republican shills would have so little effect?

  7. cluster says:

    canadian,

Once again you miss the point (not a shock). What this poll indicates is that just one year of Obama’s leadership has resulted in increasing Bush’s approval ratings by more than 20 points.

The failure of this moronic narcississt in chief is mind boggling, and liberals knee pad defense of him is laughable.

  8. jeremiah06 says:

Ok, Obama has already destroyed over 50% of the masses, are we gonna let him destroy the other 44% of the people? I sure hope not!!!

While the Generals will do their best to win the war in Afghanistan, Obama will be doing everything he can to destroy us from within, and we can’t at all let that happen. And if he gets credit for Afghanistan, America is in deep trouble either way you want to look at it.

  9. keef says:

and liberals knee pad defense of him is laughable.

Laughable, but not surprising, considering what liberals are…

  10. keef says:

Good to see that you’re finally deleting CO’s crap, Mark. Maybe you should consider doing the same to rumptext ranger OO, too…

Yes, I know; he has a way of recognizing idiots.

    But you make it easy.

    G’night, idiot…

  12. uffy says:

CO: “After considerable effort by the right-wing contingent to discredit, demean and disgrace the President,”……Obama is doing that on his own…he doesn’t need any help from the right wing.

  13. Mark Noonan says:

    joe,

You would probably find – had it been polled – that in November of 2001 a certain percentage of Democrats wanting President Bush impeached. Such opinions are, to a certain extent, irreducible – nature of partisan politics.

That said, I can’t describe a set of high crimes and misdemeanors, but I’ll bet that there are a score or more Obama Administration officials who could be brought down by criminal charges, if a real investigation could be launched.

  14. lunaticatlarge says:

Besides playing status quo with ramping health care expenses, it’s difficult to say what Bush Jr. would have done differently this past year. Certainly the Afghani Surge would have been accompanied with 78% more jingoism. That’s sorely missed around these parts, I’m sure.

Otherwise, what would Bush have done? Would he have not handed eleventy gazillion dollars to Wall Street? It’s kind of late for him to have Not Done That now.

I think the major difference that Bush would have brought to the identical policies and acts of Obama is more folksy rhetoric. That’s sorely missed around here, I reckon.

  15. twopolitics says:

Is it time to begin the Hillary grassroots movement?

  16. rightlane says:

There’s a couple a salient point here in the comment section. First, yep, Obama’s doing just what he said he do and more. However, he was careful not to tell the American public what he wanted to do while campaigning for the Presidency! He just kept repeating hope and change doing that bad MLK impersonation. “I have a dream…” too. That he will be impeached before he destroys us from within. Anyone,k that actually listen, to him prior to his run for residency at 1600 Penn. is not surprised by his actions, but, rather, at how long it’s taking the American Public to wake up and admit they’ve made a horrible mistake!

Secondly, CO said, seriously too I think, “After considerable effort by the right-wing contingent to discredit, demean and disgrace the President,…” and your point is. I thought that’s what the opposition party was suppose to do?! No leftist ever did that to Bush. Hey, didn’t I read today that a paper in your loonytoons leftist country suggested limiting couples to one child to combat “climate change.” CO, is your Mao shirt clean? If not, better giterdone before the clean shirt police show up and take off to the “Great White North” reeducation camp ay!!

    Bagni,

Not at all – what we’re missing over the past year is the relentless campaign of slander against President Bush. A Big Lie can only be sustained by endless repetition – the Big Lie about Bush hasn’t had that for a year, and so its fading away…and the truth is coming back, and people are remembering just what a real President is like.

Maybe some of them are finally realizing that the Narcissist in Chief is not a messiah…

  20. cluster says:

Can someone explain what policy would be different if McCain were president?

Probably nothing at all. That’s why many conservatives did not vote for him. Are you new here?

Incidentally, thank you for finding the racism in the poll and calling 25% of the populace bigots, and the other 75% of the American populace stupid. It certainly exposes your liberal tolerance.

It’s too bad you’re not just a little brighter so I could demean you without feeling like I am picking on the mentally challenged.

The ones who thought BHOzo was going to fill their gas tanks and make their home and car payments aren’t too happy; that’s for sure.

wow sadie you could not be more accurate about the average obamateur voter.

Most of the people who voted for the Obamateur could tell you all the contestants for American Idol, but could not identify obamateur’s running mate. These people identified with obamateur because he acted and spoke like the latest candidate for American Idol, America’s Got Talent or Big Brother!

now we see, the chosen one is faltering. He has no leadership capabilities whatsoever. But in your typical forker mentality, chalk it up to racism.

I see from you what it is like to have a simple mind.

I miss having a president who is proud of his country.

It doesn’t have to be Bush. It’s just that it has taken less than a year of Obama to make Bush look damned good by comparison.

Only a pitchfork groupie could take a single word of what I said, pollute it with her own vile racism, throw in ageism and sexism (though sexual identity among the forkers is sooo confusing—kinda this, kinda that, linked only by perversion and well-founded self-loathing) and find it even remotely justifiable.

Because I doubt that many share this particular bizarre pathology, I revert to my original belief that we are dealing with a Sybil here, just many facets of one deeply disturbed and rather vile persona.
