Real Clear Politics has a link to the Palin speech today as well as several quotes – this is the most important part:
…On crony capitalism: “So many of them, they arrive in Washington, DC of modest means and then miraculously throughout the years they end up becoming very, very wealthy. Well, it’s because they derive power and their wealth from their access to our money, to taxpayer dollars.”
“They use it to bail out their friends on Wall Street. And their corporate cronies. And to reward contributors. And to buy votes via earmarks. There is so much waste. And there is a name for this. It’s called ‘corporate crony capitalism,'” she said.
“Like you, I’m not for sale. I believe in the free market and that is why I detest crony capitalism. And Barack Obama has shown us cronyism on steroids. It will lead to our downfall if we don’t stop it now.”…
She gets it – whether by insight or careful study, she understands the basis of what is wrong…we’ve got a self-perpetuating Ruling Class which has fastened itself upon American society. They are like colonial overlords, or a visitation…they are not organically connected to us, but they rule us and bleed us dry so they and their hangers-on can prosper. Unless and until we get rid of them, we won’t be able to restore America.
The people who run our system of government and economics will always stand in the way of reform for the simple reason that any reform will eject them from power. There is no way that those who leech off the American people will voluntarily give up their place at the trough. They will have to be forced out – by peaceful, political revolution. Sarah Palin understands this – so, to be sure, do Michelle Bachmann, Herman Cain and Rick Santorum. But Palin has the national name recognition and the instant ability to raise hundreds of millions of dollars as well as mobilize an army of volunteers.
In spite of all the excellent qualities in the current GOP primary field – and whomever gets the nomination will get my enthusiastic support against Obama – my view is that Sarah Palin is the best option for the GOP in 2012. Palin is the embodiment of the true American spirit…the self-reliant, hard working, family-orientated, ardently Christian core of America. She is the sort of person who crossed the oceans to found America, and who then tamed a continent, built a democratic republic and made America in to the most powerful and generous nation in human history. We can get that America back – but only by revolution. Of all the candidates Palin is not only most likely to do this, but she has the ability to run that long, difficult race which will be necessary for a revolutionary to win the GOP nomination and beat Barack Obama.
So, run, Sarah, run. Become the leader of the revolution and let’s restore America.
I doubt Palin could get the nomination but nevertheless I really hope she throws her hat into the ring if for no other reason but to expose the RINOs in our field. I am still a Cain supporter (Am I still allowed to vote for a black man being white and all or is that racist now?) and would love to see a true conservative (even though I am a fiscally conservative Libertarian) get into White House.
No matter, as I will back whomever the nominee is in order to get the trash out of power as it sits now.
DB,
Cain is an excellent choice and I’ll back him to the hilt if he becomes the nominee..or even in the primaries of Palin doesn’t run and Bachmann falters. My concern about Cain is over his ability to really sustain the long grind…Palin knows it already, Cain is still new to it. Of course, he has time to show me otherwise.
undermining the elite is the only way we can take back america and put it back on the tracks our constitution laid…i doubt herman will be willing to cut so deep that he could correct the corruption…
if we dont back this maverick today…tomorrow will be the some ole crap…buchanan sits in congress…yet…she’s played get along for the last year…not making that big wave that we need to usurp the polical gamesmanship that will forever hold power…palins the only one that has ever bucked the system…and lived to talk about it..
we will see her in the contest in her time…she isnt playing the game…not like romney and perry…she’s standing in the backfield screaming revolution…not jumping in the GOP mess…and i dont blame her…look at what it consists of…bachmans tea party…but she is dead silent when it comes to the tea parties most vocal issues…

until we all stand up for the truth….this nation is going down the tubes…tens of millions of americans…dont believe obama is eligible to be POTUS…in accordance with supreme court precident and our constitution…
we can take him down…but without a united front…nobody will get anywhere…a house divided they say…
See my blog: http://christianityetc.org/blog/a-divided-America . Let’s really discuss this matter. How can we eliminate the major issues that divide us and solve the problem of our “disfunctional” government?
I’ve been preaching this since long before she was picked to be the VP candidate. While I will support ANYONE who runs against Barack Obama, Palin is the only one that I would feel that I wasn’t voting for the lessor of two evils. I like Cain, although he is unseasoned. Bachmann needs to either stay in the House, run for Senate, or if she really wants to be President someday, run for Governor. Perry seems a little swarmy, even though he has solid conservative credentials. Palin has my vote.
Arc,
As JS points out, Palin is the only one we’ve got who has really bucked the system…even in her resignation from the governorship, it was a way of sticking it to the Ruling Class…they (and “they” includes as lot of old-line GOPers) wanted her in the governor’s office as a continuing target…someone to be the victim of an unending string of slanders. She took that away from them…and also showed that office holding is not how she defines herself.
Mark,
Don’t get me wrong as Palin has been a favorite of mine since before McLame choose her. I would love to see her win the nomination and no matter what the pinheads thinks she would easily win the general.
I like Cain because he is not an insider and dislike Romney & Perry for the same reasons (aside from previous positions) just as I liked Fred Thomson last go-round.
What I am really hoping for this go-round is a sweep that allows us to rid the government of progressives and put the right people in the right positions to help us restore the America I knew.
All I can say is “Godspeed” for America.
DB,
That is pretty much it for me, as well – Palin, Cain, Bachmann…and Rubio, West and Paul (the younger), they represent where I want the country to go.
I’m sensing a theme here from people who learned about Sarah Palin before McCain cast her into the lime light. I also stumbled onto her name just surfing around one day in early in 2008. Here was a lady who got into politics at about as ground level entry point as one could imagine: the local PTA. Then on to mayor of a small town, and chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Commission where she uncovered massive corruption by members of both political parties. She resigned because she couldn’t work with crooks, many of whom are wearing orange jump suits because of her efforts. Then she defeated a powerful and popular GOP Governor — IN THE PRIMARY, and went on to win the general election. One of her first acts as Governor was to sell her predecessor’s extravagant jet that couldn’t land on 80% of the runways in Alaska. At the time McCain tapped her as his running mate, her approval rating (before the media told Alaskans they should hate her) was over 90%, the highest of any governor in the country.
All that said, I’m going to be very surprised if she runs. By all accounts she has no ground organization assembled, and her approval rating is something like 20% — thanks in no small part to the relentless, 24/7 media attacks against her over the last 36 months.
If we allow the media to choose our candidates we are more than doomed.
I guess that I am taking a “Big Picture” view this time around because the Progressives have shown their hand and we need to attack at all levels. Now, I also hear rumor that Christie is contemplating a run as well.
We will need to gain in the Governorships if we hope to repeal the 17th amendment (and wouldn’t mind seeing the 16th go as well). We need the House and Senate to start unraveling the legislative and regulatory mess. Clarence Thomas has done a lot over the past to make this possible. The bully pulpit to push things forward and appoint good people in positions like John Bolton as Sec. of State to restore our place on the world stage.
This is the time for the largest peaceful political revolution in some time (after FDR?) and if it fails I foresee either a second revolution that will not be so peaceful or the end of America as we know it. This country will either return towards a Constitutional-based Republic or fail.
Palin is my first choice too. I worry about her electability. I would vote for her. I would even volunteer to work towards her election, but too many Americans do not think for themselves. Letting SNL one-liners determine your political leanings does not inspire confidence in their judgment. I am not talking about the left here, I understand their reasoning; it is the middle that scares me.
Sara can see Russia from her house. Maybe that is the problem. If she had lied, would they feel more confident in her ability to lead the nation? She mopped the floor with Biden (no big accomplishment there I’ll grant you) at the VP debate in 08, still somehow the election became a referendum on her lack of experience, while Obama, running for the Presidency with less applicable experience, won. Go figure.
DB, don’t get me wrong, I like Cain and he is my second choice. Palin has been there and done that in regards to what needs to happen in DC. Rightlane is correct. The American people have lost the ability to think for themselves. Too many get their info from Saturday Night Live, where the “I can see Russia from my house” (Tina Fey) quote comes from. We have, as I see it 2 major problems in our country now: 1: Economic, including jobs, but mainly debt and spending; and 2: Energy. Ramping up energy production will create jobs. Sarah knows a thing or two about energy. I wouldn’t mind seeing a Palin/Cain ticket.
Palin is MY girl……..
I liked Cain until he kissed the muzzies ass, for me he is OUT
I think perry will ultimately represent the GOP.
Neo, I am not counting Sarah P out yet. I think she is waiting on the first debate with Perry in it. I think she will announce if she thinks Perry did poorly. Perry for all his pluses sure does have a lot of minuses to go along with them.
Look for Sarah P to announce by October 3, which iirc is the last day to register for the NH primary.
arc
id rather see a Palin/Rubio or Palin/West ticket.
Im done with Cain.
Neo, I agree. I think the muzzies scared him good.
why was my post with a link to Sarah’s pic taken off?
the pic is a joke and is all over the net.
Camon!!!
Perry Repeats Opposition to US-Mexico Border Fence
“No, I don’t support a fence on the border.”
hell with this kind of BS we may just as well let O destroy the country…why bother voting?
Run Sarah Run!!!
