The end of the world as we know it, says Mark Steyn – and he captures a great deal of the problem in this quote:
…On Thursday night, there was a question on gays in the military but none on the accelerating European debt crisis. It is certainly important to establish whether a would-be president is sufficiently non-homophobic to authorize a crack team of lesbian paratroopers to rappel into the Chinese treasury, break the safe, and burn all our IOUs. But the curious complacency about the bigger questions is disturbing…
For many people, the seriousness of the situation really hasn’t hit home. Oh, its growing, but it isn’t nearly where it needs to be. Good people, we are an ace away from a complete, global meltdown…and such a meltdown which can easily lead to a world war. The world economy is bankrupt and a corrupt Ruling Class doesn’t want to admit it, because admission means immediate replacement. They are hoping we don’t notice until after the election.
But even more serious than that is the moral decline of our civilization…the fact that we’re not having children, we spend money on useless things, we allow immorality to run rampant. All of that adds up to a civilization which wants to die. We have to regain our moral compass and start demanding (beginning with the guy in the mirror, to be sure) that a higher standard is met. If we don’t change it, we’ll be forced in to it anyway…no one is going to pay our way or do our work if we prove too weak to carry the ball. It is either walk out of this liberal blind alley we stumbled in to in 1933, or end America.
We are on track for a national financial melt down, and all the liberals worry about is being offended by executing convicted murderers and stressing over the lack of gay marriages. It’s time to put common sense adults back in charge.
Not everyone is in trouble.
“Buoyed by aggressive speculative trading on volatile energy markets, the Koch brothers accumulated $15 billion in wealth since March 2010, a 43 percent increase.”
http://thinkprogress.org/green/2011/09/21/324969/forbes-koch-brothers-now-worth-50-billion/
Looks like their investment in the TEA party paid off.
What’s the matter, Casper; did the Koch brothers kill your dog?
Spook,
Just like pointing out that the owners of the TEA party are profiting from their investment. Considering that the Koch brothers have far more power over the Right than Soros or anyone else has over the Left, I thought it would be a good idea.
The Koch Bros. own the tea party?? Wow. Sounds like we should elect the Koch Bros. to be POTUS. They certainly are light years ahead of the current idiot that resides there.
And Casper, you should be happy that they are profiting, as they will pay taxes on those gains, which will indirectly keep you employed and help you produce ill informed students. It’s a win – win
Remember, spook, no insane Leftist conspiracy theory is too crackpot for crackpot casper to buy into.
Look at his latest examples of kookism:
“Looks like their investment in the TEA party paid off”
“..the owners of the TEA party are profiting from their investment…”
“…Koch brothers have …… power over the Right ”
The poor man just gets goofier every time he posts.
And this is after HIS OWN QUOTE about these nasty scary eeeevil Koch Brothers adding to their despicable wealth due to “…aggressive speculative trading on volatile energy markets,..
So, to sum it up, daft old casper has decreed that groups across the nation, loosely organized if at all, without a national leader, with no organized funding, a true grassroots movement based on ideology and not on identity, united only by a shared belief in the Constitution of the United States, is now OWNED by some sinister cabal. Is there any proof of this wild-eyed fantasy? Of course not. Is there any indication this movement of ideas and not of membership is OWNED by ANYONE? Of course not. Is there any idea of how such loosely linked groups across the nation even COULD be “owned”? Of course not. The TEA Party is not an entity, but an idea summarized by a simple term which is only an homage to early protesters against unfair taxation. But to poor simpleminded casper, this shared commitment to the foundational document of our nation and this shared belief that it is, in fact, the law of the land, creates a monolithic body which is OWNED by people he has, in his paranoia, determined to be Bad Guys.
But to take this even further into Loonyville, cappy declares that this OWNERSHIP is now really an INVESTMENT that, somehow, has manipulated the ENERGY MARKETS, to allow these sinister figures to PROFIT from this OWNERSHIP.
Yeah—’cause OWNING an idea lets you use your Mind Control to shift energy markets, yep, that’s the ticket. Hey, they are not just controlling the markets, they are controlling the entire non-Left political system of our nation.
Wow.
I’m starting to see why casper is so upset. Gee, who knew? Probably only the same people who also believe that if you adhere to the Constitution you really want to reinstate slavery and take the vote away from women.
And who think it makes sense to say, in response to a comment that being such a rabidly radical doofus in an otherwise sane and conservative state makes you an anomaly, “I am NOT an anomaly—my students love me!”
(Sorry about the all-caps words, but I’m trying to capture the shrill and strident hysteria of casper’s paranoia.)
I guess in Caspers hyper sensitive, deluded mind, one extra dollar for the Koch Bros. means that another bridge will fall down, another child will go to bed hungry, and another molecule of pollutant will invade the clean air. To the emotionally unstable, profits are scary.
Cluster,
I had never even heard of the Koch brothers until the left decided they would do as the TEA Party bogey man. I’ve yet to get my check from them…
“I’ve yet to get my check from them…”
And yet you still take your orders from them. I’d ask for a better deal.
Mark,
I never heard of the Cloward-Piven strategy before the right decided they would do as a bogey man. One might expect it to be more likely to have heard of a family of billionaires than a pair of nobody professors whose glory days died 40 years ago.
Their glory days died 40 years ago?? The reason Cloward Piven is relevant is because their theories are, and have been instituted. They were the motivating force behind the “war on poverty” which is still on going to the tune of a trillion dollars. How could you overlook that?
Casper,
If I ever were to be owned like that, I would certainly be paid, first.
The fact of the matter is that the Koch’s had nothing to do with the TEA Party. It was a spontaneous movement of the people…and if you don’t like its current influence then I suggest you write a letter of complaint to Barack Obama. It was Obama, by pressing ahead with a leftist agenda, who ensured that the TEA Party would move from a few activists to a mass movement.
dolf “overlooks that” because it would be too uncomfortable to actually discuss the ideas of Cloward and Pivens and apply them to what has been happening here for the past two years or so.
dolf is all about Identity Politics, where you make your decisions based on people, and sometimes on actions, always well seasoned with emotion, and not on actual objective political thought.
So he goes along with the new Left efforts to ridicule those who see the teachings of Cloward and Pivens being enacted in this country. This process is supposed to remain under the radar, unnoticed and certainly unidentified, and when it IS noticed and accurately identified all the Left can do is try to make fun of those who comment on it.
Marx? Why pay any attention to Marxism? The guy was, like, old as dirt when he died, and that was a long time ago. See, he and everything he ever said are magically dismissed! What do his teachings have to do with anything? Nothing to see here, folks, just keep moving………..
And dolf, what does your ignorance of political history (re: Cloward and Pivens) have to do with anything? Just because YOU didn’t know something is supposed to make it irrelevant?
Boy, that would sure wipe out a lot of knowledge……
casper, you really do need to stop adding to your list of lies.
(“I’ve yet to get my check from them…”)
And yet you still take your orders from them.
Really? What orders? Where, and when? How are these orders delivered? is that what that funny tone in my Secret Decoder Ring is all about? It’s time to get my latest “orders”?
Is the key in the change of toys in Happy Meals? Whether or not Sean Hannity is wearing a striped tie? Do I have to go look in the knothole in the old oak tree for a message written in invisible ink? Will Lassie deliver it after she gets Timmy out of the well?
You really are embarrassing yourself, as well as illustrating Early Onset Dementia.
“The fact of the matter is that the Koch’s had nothing to do with the TEA Party. ”
No, the fact of the matter is the exact opposite of what you claim. What did you think that feeble lie would gain you, Mark?
From the Think Progress chart, it looks like the Koch Brothers have most of thier money while the donkies were in charge of congress. How is that possible?
Did anyone see the interview of Netanyahu by David Gregory? Our media is a an embarrassment.
Mark,
I too had never even heard of the Koch Bros until recently.
I’ll bet there are lots of really rich people most of us have never heard of. I never heard of George Soros till a few years ago, and he was internationally famous as a criminal long before he started funding the Rabidly Radical Left in the United States.
Booooooooosh
boooooooooosh
and the eeeeeevil Koch brothers.
Koch’s views are described as libertarian.
He disliked George W. Bush’s presidency.
His favorite presidents are George Washington, Grover Cleveland, and Calvin Coolidge.[14]
He told the National Journal that his “overall concept is to minimize the role of government and to maximize the role of private economy and to maximize personal freedoms.”[15] Today, he worries about too much governmental regulation, writing, “We could be facing the greatest loss of liberty and prosperity since the 1930s.”
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
the NAZI. muslim, loving left reveals them selves…….
Bloomberg News has a story today on how the Zionist Koch brothers bankrolled……..
what a surprise, that they hate them…..
