A hot-off-the-presses CNN/Time poll shows Mitt Romney in first place in all the January primary and caucus states, starting with Iowa’s leadoff caucuses. Romney holds a narrow edge in Iowa, taking 24 percent to Herman Cain’s 21 percent, Ron Paul’s 12 percent and Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry’s 10 percent.

PREPARE to TOE the LINE! If you stay home on election day if it’s Romney against Obummer you are a traitor blablabla. I’m voting Herman Cain if he wins the nomination, Ron Paul if it’s Obama vs. Mitt or Perry. Time to prepare the armageddon garden. Thinks aren’t going well for the fiscal conservatives or the libertarians.

In important news. The hapless Illini went from a great start 6-0 to the now mediocre 6-3. Are the planning to lose the next 3 as well?

      • Green Mountain Boy's avatar Green Mountain Boy October 30, 2011 / 6:08 pm

The last poll I saw had Cain up 23% to Flippers 22%. We can only wait and see. It’s no secret that the establishment wants flipper and will do everything in its power to get him.

Prepare to toe the line or be called traitor? LOL Already happened so many times what does one matter? My garden was 3 acres this year and will be 5 next season. If things hold together that long.

Are they planning to lose the next 3 games. No, not planning at all. 🙂

UC Berkeley’s new vice chancellor for equity and inclusion, Gibor Basri, has 17 people working for him in his immediate office, including a “chief of staff,” two “project/policy analysts,” and a “director of special projects.” Says Mac Donald: “The funding propping up Basri’s vast office could support many an English or history professor. According to state databases, Basri’s base pay in 2009 was $194,000, which does not include a variety of possible add-ons, including summer salary and administrative stipends. By comparison, the official salary for assistant professors at UC starts at around $53,000….

Columnist Mike Adams has some fun today with the strange decision of his college, the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, to lump together two serious academic departments (because of a shortage of funding) while once again expanding the campus diversity bureaucracy (for which no funding shortage ever seems to appear).

As Adams figures it, the university will save $80,000 a year lumping together the Physics and Physical Oceanographic Department with the Geography and Geology Department, while committing more funds to five diversity-multicultural offices, each apparently run by someone commanding a hefty salary.

This is an old story on our campuses. Colleges and universities enact severe budget cuts, dropping programs and letting teachers go, while unapologetically expanding their already swollen diversity bureaucracy. This is because diversity now has the status of an established religion on our campuses, while actual teaching deals only in mere learning.

      Well, not exactly …

Basr ~Vice Chancellor Equity & Inclusion; Professor of Astrophysics

O’Rourke, Director of Faculty Postgraduate Initiatives

      Halimah, Chief of Staff

      Jaeger, Director for Educational Partnership

      Campbell, Director Academic Achievement Center

      Hippolitus, Disabled Students Program

Curtis, Director Multicultural, Educational and Gender Centers

Rivas, Director Centers for Educational Equity and Excellence

      Trujillo, Director Graduate Diversity Programs

      Reel, Director Staff Diversity Initiatives

The items in BOLD existed long before the VCEI was created. I also get a kick out of the fact that Basri is a Professor teaching classes.

Basri’s pay was predicated on being a Professor of Astrophysics; and it’s not $194,000.

      Damn those overpaid professors!

        The Hard-Left OWS Plan
        By Lee DeCovnick

The hard progressive left in America has been unleashed into the streets by the community organizer in the White House. The current crop of street pawns, the banal cattle of Occupy Wall Street movement, are fed, herded, and coldly led by the professional agitators from ACORN, SEIU, and the Communist Party of America. These hardcore Alinskyites are well-funded and well-organized. Through a series of set-piece street actions and media events coordinated with the White House, the street cattle’s drumbeat attacks on capitalism, property rights, and traditional religious and working class values have successfully dominated the news cycles.

Yes, we should hold the allegations up to the Clinton standard.

The Clinton standard is BTW ‘if you can get away with it in the MSM, you can get away with it. If you can’t get away with it, you can’t get away with it.” So, he could get away with Paula Jones incident but not Monica Lewinsky.

  5. tiredoflibbs's avatar tiredoflibbs October 31, 2011 / 12:00 pm

Actually the “Clinton” standard by the media is to drag the female accusers through the mud as we saw with Paula Jones, Kathleen Willy, Juanita Broderick, Gennifer Flowers and whistle blower Linda Tripp.

The MSM will drag any liberal accuser through the mud, while protecting the alleged offender. Too bad that same does not apply to the non-liberal side of the aisle. As long as the charges are serious enough no matter if evidence exists or not, they treat the story as true and do their best to destroy that non-liberal as long as the story has traction.

    • neocon1's avatar neocon1 October 31, 2011 / 12:34 pm

For several years, the Washington Weekly has published a compiled list of alleged crimes in the Clinton administration. Current events quickly make the list incomplete, necessitating updates. The list, now including 33 Clinton appointees, is by no means exhaustive, but does include activities before taking office.

She even seems to be mad at her silver-tongued husband. When the two were to set off on a luxurious 10-day vacation to Martha’s Vineyard, she left early – four hours early – and flew up alone. And those private vacations. She’s traveled to some of the world’s most plush resorts, taking 42 days off in the past year – that’d be eight weeks of vacay time if she held down a normal job.

Now, she is ready to spew her bilious disgust with America on the campaign trail. A dignified, transcendent first lady? No chance. Michelle is going to break with a hundred years of tradition and play the role of attack dog, heaping derision on her husband’s political opponents like no other first lady before her.

And it’s already begun. Mad Michelle this week popped down to Davis Island, Fla., to hobnob with the very people her husband despises – the 1 percent. At a massive mansion on the bay, filled with the wealthiest of the wealthy, America’s first lady launched into a tirade about “them” – the Republicans.

Israel is seeing its first ever crisis of confidence between a normally docile civilian population and the heads of the armed forces. Mayors and local council heads representing the three-quarters of-a-million inhabitants of the southern towns of Beersheba, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Kiryat Gat and Gan Yavneh, announced Sunday night, Oct. 31, that they don’t believe the army’s claim the missile offensive besetting them since Saturday is over. Their schools stayed closed Monday, Oct. 31, in defiance of Home Front Command orders.

Oh except that he’s proud of Romney Care and wants to be President. He has made that abundantly clear for the last 6 years.

OAKLAND / Agreement reached on crowd-control tactics
November 06, 2004|Henry K. Lee, Chronicle Staff Writer

Oakland police will no longer indiscriminately use wooden or rubber bullets, Taser stun guns, pepper spray and motorcycles to break up crowds, under an agreement announced Friday. A group of protesters took the city to court, and Oakland eventually awarded $2 million to 58 demonstrators for police abuses.

Meanwhile, the Oakland School Board voted on Wednesday night, this week, to close five elementary schools, in large part due to budget constraints. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Oakland school district officials say that the school closings will save about $2 million a year, about what the Oakland Police Department paid out to protesters it abused in 2003.

    **************************************************************************

SO, 7 years ago the Oakland PD had to fork over $2 million for abusive practices. The PD agreed to stop using ALL projectiles for crowd control. That is they wouldn’t even use rubber bullets or flashbang grenades. The CITY closed 5 schools to pay for the abuse. When Scott Olsen sues the Oakland PD, his lawyer can just point to the violated agreement. Looks like a big payout by the city again, maybe this time they’ll close 10 schools. Of course the schools are crappy anyway so no harm there. After all, the police were worried about potential health risks.

    • bardolf's avatar bardolf October 31, 2011 / 4:23 pm

      @GMB

Why didn’t the police remove the people during the morning by just sweeping through? Because they want to make a political statement. Of course speech ain’t free even for the PD and the crackdown will cost Oakland in the millions.

      • Green Mountain Boy's avatar Green Mountain Boy October 31, 2011 / 4:58 pm

Bardolf. Agreed its going to cost Oakland millions of dollars. Liberals eating thier own and the tax payers footing the bill.

I still haven’t seen any evidence proving that the OPD are responsible for Olsens condition. But then I haven’t looked.
        You have some?

      • bardolf's avatar bardolf October 31, 2011 / 5:37 pm

        GMB

As I’ve said, I’ll wait for the OPD to make an official inquiry before laying blame. What I don’t need to do is wait for an inquiry to know they violated their own agreement not to use flash grenades for crowd control.

Here’s an old conservative idea. How about the police go after murderers and thieves and stop worrying about penny ante b.s. like people smoking a joint or camping out overnight in the park. I know, I know, that’s PUBLIC space. But really, conservatives are too busy working jobs inside buildings to worry about hippies in the park. If the hippies get typhoid tough. If park cleanup is the problem, just cut back on those people’s welfare checks.

      • Green Mountain Boy's avatar Green Mountain Boy October 31, 2011 / 8:51 pm
