Interesting what happens when THE PEOPLE have a voice in deciding about raising taxes, even when it’s “for the children”.

Colorado voters have rejected an attempt to raise state income and sales taxes to fund education, The Denver Post has declared.

With 61 percent of precincts reporting, Proposition 103 was going down in flames across the state, with 35 percent in favor to 65 percent against.

That was also true in Denver. With 86,978 ballots counted through 8:30 p.m., the measure was failing 45.3 percent to 54.7 percent.

Even in liberal Boulder County — home to the measure’s chief supporter — the measure was struggling. Most recent results showed it was winning there, but just by 1,804 votes.

So the MSM is still aghast over the “possible” inappropriate sexual advances towards a couple of women on behalf of Herman Cain, correct? They certainly do spend a lot of time on it, especially MSNBC and the rodeo clowns employed over there that operate under the guise of “political commentators”, who are convinced that these “alleged” lapses of judgement disqualify him for consideration for POTUS.

What’s ironic, is that they continue to worship at the alter of Bill Clinton, so just to refresh their memory – I submit the following:

The affair continued after Lewinsky became a paid White House employee and would last a total of 18 months. During their affair, the President and Ms. Lewinsky had ten sexual encounters in the Oval Office suite, including one instance in which the President, while engaged in sex, spoke to a Republican member of Congress on the telephone regarding sending U.S. troops to Bosnia.

And another not so flattering account of liberals favorite President:

But Broaddrick could not remember the date, even the month, of the alleged 1978 incident. And NBC’s Lisa Myers reported that Broaddrick, a volunteer in Clinton’s first gubernatorial campaign, attended a Clinton fund-raiser three weeks later. “I think I was still in denial,” Broaddrick said. “I still felt very guilty at that time, that it was my fault. By letting him come to the room, I had given him the wrong idea.”

Asked about Broaddrick’s allegation at a news conference earlier in the day, President Clinton said: “Well, my counsel has made a statement about the . . . issue, and I have nothing to add to it.” Attorney David E. Kendall’s statement called the charge “absolutely false.”

The nursing home operator, previously known as Jane Doe No. 5, told Myers that she felt “violated” but finally stopped resisting Clinton’s sexual advances because “it was a real panicky situation.” She said that “he was just a vicious, awful person.”

Pressed by Myers as to whether she was raped, Broaddrick said she had been. “It was not consensual,” she insisted. As for her feelings now toward the president, Broaddrick said: “My hatred for him is overwhelming.”

So the MSM is still aghast over the “possible” inappropriate sexual advances towards a couple of women on behalf of Herman Cain, correct?

There have been numerous news reports that Cain’s alleged physical gestures were not overtly sexual. Howie Carr at the Boston Herald has a humorous take on it.

I don’t know what Herman Cain did or didn’t do at the National Restaurant Association, and neither do you.

But I can quote you some of what the journalistic common nightwalkers of Politico said in their alleged blockbuster: “There were also descriptions of physical gestures that were not overtly sexual but that made women who experienced or witnessed them uncomfortable.”

Not overtly sexual? That could mean anything. Please pass the salt. Get me Joe on the phone. How ’bout them Steelers?

      • dvindice's avatar dvindice November 2, 2011 / 7:47 pm

If this is such a hot issue why did they wait until now to bring out this story instead of hauling it out when Mr. Cain first starting running for the oval office?

Because Jerry Brown’s proposal doesn’t include stripping significant collective bargaining rights, which was the main cause of mass hysteria in Wisconsin. When you disguise union busting as “pension reform,” then people tend to not like your pension reforms.

      • Cluster's avatar Cluster November 2, 2011 / 8:08 pm

So you’re saying that eliminating collective bargaining rights on benefits only (they still have bargaining rights on wages), and generous benefits to boot, was the cause of the mayhem and drama queen moments? That’s a sad statement.

Incidentally, I support FDR’s position on public unions, the questions is, why don’t liberals?

      • David's avatar David November 3, 2011 / 2:32 am

The bill restricts wage negotiation as well. It just doesn’t eliminate it outright.

Saying that they don’t need bargaining rights because they already have good benefits is fallacious because without the bargaining rights the benefits can be reduced with far less pushback from workers.

Private sector employment in the U.S. grew by 110,000 in October, but if that trend continues, given present population growth, the number of unemployed will increase from the current 14 million to 27 million by 2020.

Oh, in case you didn’t get it from my previous response, your extrapolation is just plain stupid. Only roughly 50% of our population is actually part of the workforce, with the rest being stay at home parents, retirees, or children. If you compare job growth to expansion of the workforce and not the total population, you’ll find that at current rates, by 2020 the unemployment figure will be roughly… (wait for it) 14 million.

11.4 million of them are on welfare, or 30%.

There are 229 million white people, (hispanics counted as white)
11.6 million of them are on welfare, or 5%.

      Nah, it was the Democrats.

They are SCARED TO DEATH of a strong conservative black candidate. Cain goes against all the narratives the Democrats have about the black population.

You can already see it in the news. You have the liberal media talking heads and the liberal politicians telling how “Herman Cain is a black person that knows his place.”, “Hermain Cain needs to put down the symbolic crack pipe.”, etc. etc. I even heard a caller on a local radio show complaining how “Herman Cain will dilute the black vote.”

They are scared to death of Cain and are trying to stop him at all costs.

Search the internet if you dare for more comments about Cain….

      …we know you won’t.

      • Cory's avatar Cory November 2, 2011 / 7:54 pm

I’m scared to death of Cain, but it has nothing to do with his skin color. The guy’s big platform is a tax plan that punishes the poor and rewards the rich so thoroughly that it doesn’t even meet current income levels. What is there not to be scared about?

      • tiredoflibbs's avatar tiredoflibbs November 2, 2011 / 9:23 pm

Sorry cory, the liberal mantra is that if you are scared of the obAMATEUR, it is because he is black. This has been the theme since day one and has been regurgitated all over the leftist blogoshpere.

You can’t run away from liberal tactics.

BTW, I see bodie, jeffy, wally has chimed in with his usual poop flinging hoping something will stick. Sadly, for him his screed does not have the desired effect he wants.

It is the only legally correct answer that any President of the United States could make. I am 100% pro-life, however, I have no power under God to prevent individual people from murdering others. If there comes a time that God gives me foresight to know that someone is going to murder another and then asks of me to kill that potential murderer before they do, then I will have that power.

Even our Emperor Obama with all of his edicts does not have that power. He can order you to buy health insurance, but you don’t have to. If you don’t buy the health insurance He can order you to pay a fine to the IRS, but you can still refuse. If Obama knew ahead of time that you would refuse, He could send his goons to your house and kill you before you actually refuse, so that he could say he has the power to force you to do his will.

I was talking about your claim that the others posted talking points when those statements that they made were referenced here before and was not commenting your initial post. It is easy to copy and paste a news link. It is something else to do research in order to make a logical argument – something that is completely foreign to you.

Of course, posting a “source” ONCE every fifty responses does not negate the other times you regurgitate your self-proclaimed statements and try to pass them off as facts.

Wow, again you make a fool of yourself under this Wally alias – time to get a new one. Try elmo, or peter or barney or pick another and keep it. Another pathetic attempt to distort, deflect and lie to save his sorry little butt from being caught in his usual pathetic little tactics.

again, wally, since you cannot learn from previous failures…

You keep repeating the same thing over and over and expect a different result.

YOu have been caught in a lie again. No matter how many times you repeat yourself it won’t become true.

I have explained it before and it is not my fault that you cannot understand simple sentences with your own statements as proof. It is like you don’t understand what you even write (or copy and paste).

        Pathetic.

SO you finally admit to lying and using distraction as a tactic when you are caught at lying!

        A break-through!!!

But then, again, you are set-back by posting a personal attack when you can’t spin your way out of your original lie.

Also notice, you repeat the same action expecting a different result.

Give it up, wally/bodie/monty/jeffy, you can’t escape from yourself.

I will, though, humor you, but we will not let your ignorance get in the way of your question.

What is this new rant about me supposedly supporting Romney? For a while, a while back, I thought he looked like a pretty good choice. I was influenced enough by GMB to recognize his weaknesses and it has been a long long time since I said anything even remotely supportive of him.

I was just commenting on the nonstop ranting and raving about him, the RDS we keep seeing here.

And when you guys “respond” to things that were never said, you just sound like the RRL trolls who infest this blog and do the same thing.

Mitt is not “my guy” and as for dolf’s silliness, well, it’s just dolf’s silliness. I guess that crystal ball of his is getting quite a workout, what with him having such insights into what does and does not matter to whom, and why. “I will blame the Amys and Clusters and Counts in the GOP who have real world experience, but ultimately just don’t care because their lives are only remotely impacted by the economy being a disaster.” is pretty funny, but nothing compared to “I won’t blame the Matts and Marks in the GOP, they don’t even have kids so their real world experience is practically nil.”

Perhaps the little college in the desert doesn’t have anything but the Leftist Compendium of Infinitely Variable Definitions for dolf to look to, to figure out the meaning of things like “real world experience”. His fantasy world seems to be quite extensive, but quite creepy.
