Democrats Actually Believe Americans Like Obamacare

Direct from their Flat Earth Society meeting, congressional Democrats are claiming that the more Americans learn about Obamacare, the more they like it.

Of course, that completely contradicts virtually all polling on the matter, but since when has reality mattered much to the Democrats?

But, hey, let them believe what they want. If they want to go down with the ship, I won’t stop them.

Seniors HATE saving billions on drugs. Just livid. Next thing you know they’ll be covering children with preconditions. The nerve. Don’t they know children just want to be left alone to die? If they had wanted health care, they would just operate on themselves.

Besides, how will doctors pay those country club greens fees if they can’t defraud Medicare out of a billion or two every now and then?

    • tiredoflibbs's avatar tiredoflibbs March 19, 2012 / 8:52 pm

Well creepy assclown, you will be glad to know that doctors can’t defraud Medicare any longer!

obAMATEUR took $500 billion from the program to pay for obAMATEURcare! obAMATEUR has endangered both Medicare with his obAMAcare scheme and Social Security with his payroll tax cut scheme.

I remember the good old days when Democrats accused the Republicans of putting Medicare and Social Security at risk or “gutting them” to pay for tax cuts.

      Look… obAMATEUR actually did it.

      • dbschmidt's avatar dbschmidt March 20, 2012 / 1:38 pm

Well, as far as the payroll tax scheme — it is covered by the new “hidden” fee on mortgages and refinances that will last the live of the loan costing most of us a home more than we “save.”

All of them are crooks as in reality this fee is not required to replace the lost SS money (like there is any in the Al Gore’s lockbox.)

        From the article

“For every $200,000, it amounts to an extra $15 dollars a month.

… will save a couple hundred dollars from having her payroll tax cut extended but her mortgage broker told her the new fee would cost her almost $9,500.

The $35.7 billion collected in fees won’t go into the Social Security fund to replace the lost payroll tax. It goes to the general treasury where Congress can spend it however they please.”

Obamacare has nothing to do with actual care and everything to do with control. Doctors are leaving the business as a result of the government adding layers of bureaucrats in between them and their patient, so actual care will be diminished. Don’t tell bozo that though, he actually thinks that doctors , you know the people that actually provide the care, are defrauding Medicare. Not saying that some aren’t, but why wouldn’t that be the case with Obamacare? Care to answer that one bozo?

One sure way to get rid of the potential fraud is to repeal it, which will happen beginning 1/20/13. Nearly 60% want the bill either repealed completely, or at least have the mandate thrown out. Also, the CBO just nearly doubled the expected costs of Obamacare so it is becoming more and more unpopular by the day.

My source for doctors leaving the industry? Google. There’s quite a few to choose from – I was just reading one of them.

    • bozo's avatar bozo March 20, 2012 / 5:03 am

Obamacare has nothing to do with actual care and everything to do with control.

Straw man. To paraphrase a horny liberal: “It’s the profits, stupid.”

Doctors are leaving the business as a result of the government adding layers of bureaucrats in between them and their patient, so actual care will be diminished.

Another straw man. Some doctors are not taking on any more Medicare patients as a result of reduced compensation – that’s “greed” for you right wingers. No worries. Greed is good, right? Especially when it’s your money or your life, unless you have no money, then…well, it’s your life.

If your doctor didn’t go to grammar school, high school, college or post-grad at any publicly funded school, then he should complain bitterly that he’s expected to tighten his belt for Medicare patients. But if he got any of his education at any publicly funded institution from kindergarten on, buck it up, buddy. You got here on the good graces of the taxpaying public, now cut us all some slack.

Internationally, doctors rave about the ability to send a bill to one place. No mountain of paperwork. Just heal people, and get paid. Better outcomes, more pay. But what do those fureigners know, except how to get better outcomes with half the expense of Americans.

Unfortunately, RomneyCare is more like this than ObamaCare. But Ocare should be, and I think will be.

he actually thinks that doctors , you know the people that actually provide the care, are defrauding Medicare.

Got me there. There is no fraud in the Medicare system. Hey, fifty billion a year goes out to mysteriously unsick, untreated people, but Republicans just figure since Obozo is cracking down on those abuses, well, then those abuses must be good, right? Those Medicare fraudsters are actually just ethically-challenged job creators.

Doctors are fantastically wonderful, intelligent, good looking people, except for the few who aren’t.

So, show of hands: who doesn’t like children getting coverage for preconditions, or seniors getting a break on drug costs? There has to be some Republican “donut hole” fans out there somewhere, since you guys created it.

You’ve obviously never run a business. Every business has what’s referred to as a break-even point. When your average profit margin falls below the break even point, you might as well do something else. I pass up low profit business all the time, and, you know what — there’s almost always someone who takes it. It’s amazing, though, how often I get calls back from those customers telling me there was a reason the other guy’s price was so low: the product was inferior, his service was inferior, he couldn’t deliver or he charged extra for delivery.

        Bozo,

Before “The Great Society”, “The New Deal”, among other Socialist crap that has been forced through the system–the doctors were paid by the patients. The cost was cheaper in adjusted dollars and I (and the rest of my family) was never refused–even when we could not immediately afford it.

You carried a policy for catastrophic care and those were affordable, paid the doctor quickly and in full. Another Progressive load of crap that turns out to be anything than progressive.

  6. Cluster's avatar Cluster March 20, 2012 / 8:17 am

    Bozo,

Unfortunately you are too emotionally charged up and too intellectually dishonest to have a rational conversation on health care. One thing you might want to toss around that empty head of yours though – if health CARE is the goal of Obamacare, why are there no plans or incentives within the bill to hire more doctors? The bill does call for the addition of a lot of new bureaucrats, but no doctors or nurses. Why do you suppose that is? And your verbal assault on health care PROVIDERS is typical liberalism and another example of your extremism.

IIRC, your remark/question “Also, you’d rather people be poor and destitute like the guys in Mississippi rather than get government assistance? “ was answered by at least one of the people in the first video who said they preferred their lifestyle to those in the second video.

Also, they had to travel to one of the poorest sections in Mississippi and selectively pick the people in the first video while all she had to do is travel across the street from her (probably subsidized) apartment in NY to find the interviewees in the second.

Why didn’t she go to a major metropolitan city is Mississippi to shoot the first video? Afraid of the results and/or selective bigotry?

Yesterday on another thread, Spook posted a link about the drop off of campaign donations from wealthier Americans, and now it has been revealed that even one of Obama’s pals, and recipient of Obama’s hand outs, is having second thoughts on Obama’s leadership:

Friends describe Jeffrey Immelt as privately dismayed that, even after three years on the job, President Obama hasn’t moved to the center, but instead further left. The GE CEO, I’m told, is appalled by everything from the president’s class-warfare rhetoric to his continued belief that big government is the key to economic salvation.

      Cluster,

The drop off in wealthy donor contributions wasn’t trivial either — it was HALF the amount of this time in 2008. He may have raised (as James noted) $43 million in February, but, at that rate, he’s not going to have a $billion war chest any time soon.

I heard someone say the other day that the rats are beginning to abandon the ship. My first thought was a line from a while back:

When the Obama agenda begins to unravel, and the rats abandon the sinking ship, we’re going to find out, when the smoke clears, that the ship wasn’t sinking after all; there were just too many rats on board – origin unknown.

Is it just me, or does it feel like this current brand of Obama liberalism has set America back about 70 years? There is more racial unrest in this country than there ever has been on the last 50 years. There is stagnant growth, high unemployment, and decreasing wages reminiscent of the 1930’s depression, and Sandra Fluke has set the women’s movement back another 40 years. Weren’t women suppose to be strong, independent and capable of doing anything a man could? Right? But now according to Fluke and Obama, that unless other people pay for a woman’s contraception, than she is rendered helpless. And whatever happened to the feminist cry of “keep your laws off of my body”??

And on this thread we have bozo attacking health care providers and chiding them to just “suck it up” and do what he says. Fascism? You bet it is, but that is what Obama is all about. Just suck it up and do what he says.

    GTFO!!!!!!!

    • Amazona's avatar Amazona March 22, 2012 / 10:35 am

      No, it’s not you.

Under the bizarrely misnamed PROgressive movement, we have REgressed to pre-MLK days, before he preached that the goal of our nation should be to have every man judged by his character instead of the color of his skin, to an ugly place where nothing matters BUT the color of his skin.

We have sunk into a fetid swamp of racial hatred created and nurtured by a party which can only succeed in gaining power if the nation is distracted by various resentments and divisions.

We no longer tell our children that they, too, can succeed if they also make good decisions and work hard. We do not teach them to aspire to the same level of success that others have gained, we teach them that they should drag the successful down to their level.

We went from touting the strength, courage and honor of women to a policy stating that women are so weak they simply cannot be expected to take the slightest responsibility for their choices and decisions, not even to protect the lives of their own children. On the contrary, we are now telling females that they are so weak, so fragile, that an event like being raped is so permanently crippling they can never recover—but that killing an innocent child who may have been conceived as a result of that rape will somehow miraculously make it all better. We went from “bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan” to completely falling apart into a whimpering puddle of HELPLESSNESS at being told one might actually have to pay for a product instead of having a nanny-state entity do it for her.

We have gone from fighting for equal opportunity to whining about lack of guaranteed equal outcome.

We have gone from fighting for the acknowledgement that people are not inherently inferior due to race or gender to an official policy stating that they are, and so must be given special treatment to compensate for their inadequacies.

      And some call it PROgress.

    Ya gotta love Mark Levin.

On his Monday broadcast, syndicated conservative radio host Mark Levin offered his take on a Daily Caller report that tied Media Matters for America to the al-Jazeera network. TheDC reported that the organization’s foreign policy fellow MJ Rosenberg has made some ill-advised statements about the Jewish community and the United States.

Levin called on the Internal Revenue Service to review Media Matters’ tax status and called the organization, as he has often done in the past, a “criminal front group.”

“Media Matters is a key political operative entity for the Democrat Party and for this president,” Levin said. “I don’t care if it covers itself in the charitable, non-profit, non-partisan mode, part of the Internal Revenue Code. That’s for the IRS to sort out and the IRS ought to be looking at them, quite frankly, as I’ve said many, many times. That’s why I call them a ‘criminal front group.’”

Levin challenged Media Matters to take action against him for the moniker he has given the group, and said he would use a lawsuit as an opportunity to investigate the organization.

    The gloves are coming off.

What this shrill attack on anything that can be tagged “the Right”, via its adoring account of Brock, lacks is even a hint of relevance to what it is about the of the Right that he despises, or the POLITICS of the Left that drew him in.

We get a whole lot of noise about the fact that Rupert Murdoch did not allow himself to be ambushed by a pack of rabid Left-wing radicals (how DARE he !!!!) and a whole lot of noise about the glee with which Brock likes to attack people he feels are deserving of attack and a whole lot of noise about how DANGEROUS a single TV cable news network is (without a single reference to the fact that it is only ‘dangerous’ to people threatened by the truth) and in general a whole lot of noise, but nothing more than a steaming pile of hysteria which could only appeal to a ‘James’ whose entire persona is one of focusing solely on personal attack and insults.

Sure someone like Brock would be a hero to someone like ‘James’ as they are equally rabid and equally dedicated to attack. There is an effort to imply that Brock saw the light after attacking people on the Left so did a 180 and started going after the REAL bad guys, but in fact all the article does is use Brock’s addiction to personally attacking people as a cover for the author to wallow in his own hateful pathology.

      • Retired Spook's avatar RetiredSpook March 20, 2012 / 12:29 pm

        J.R.,

It’s pretty simple. Cut and paste the URL like you normally do, but in the body of your comment at the point where you want the link to appear instead of at the end of your comment. In front of the URL insert a left arrow (above the comma on your keyboard) followed by the letter “a” (without the quotes) followed by a space and then an “h” an “r” an “e” an “f” and an “=” (all without quote marks or spaces) After the “=” and immediately before and after the URL insert quote marks. After the last set of quote marks insert a right arrow (above the period on your keyboard), whatever word or words you want to identify your link (like “instance of honesty” in my previous comment) followed by a left arrow, a back slash the letter “a” (without the quotes) and a right arrow. I know this sounds complicated, but it’s really not. It’s only complicated because I can’t type it out like it actually appears because the symbols won’t show up in the comment.

A recent exchange between Charlie Rose & Paul Ryan:

ROSE: As you know, Democrats have tried to- and have attempted to- portray you as someone who wants to destroy Medicare, and they have a poster in which you are, in a sense, the poster boy of that. And their argument is that you will, in fact, by a voluntary system, lead to the destruction of something that seniors have come to depend on.

RYAN: The President’s health care law does that already. The President’s health care law puts 15 bureaucrats in charge of rationing the program, and he raids over half a trillion dollars from the program to spend on other government programs. We preserve the benefit for people in or near retirement- the President doesn’t do that- but, in order to do that, you have to reform the program to save the program, and prevent it from going bankrupt. That’s what we do. Scare tactics, I don’t think, are going to work. The country wants to be spoken to like adults, not pandered to like children. We owe the country a choice; we owe them leadership, we think; and if you want to save Medicare and prevent it from going bankrupt, you must reform the program, and that’s what we’re doing.

I love the line about speaking to the voters as adults – something Obama and the democrats never do. Of course the liberal base is comprised of emotionally unstable children, so it’s no surprise.

Militia group to attempt citizen’s arrest in Fla. shooting of Trayvon Martin

(CBS/AP) SANFORD, Fla. – The leader of a self-described black militia group says members will go to Sanford next week to attempt a citizen’s arrest on George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch leader who admitted to fatally shooting unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin.

Najee Muhammad, a member of the New Black Liberation Militia, announced Thursday that members of the group plan to take the 28-year-old Zimmerman to federal authorities since local police haven’t acted.

I work in gated communities ALL the time and am constantly confronted by neighbor watches and board members.
I always identify my self politely, it is not at night, I dont get in their face, and I dont beat the shiite out of them.
I am not wearing a hoodie and I do not fit the MO and resemble the last eight burglars who has struck in the last week or two.

They both handled it wrong. But the use of deadly force is warranted if you are in considerable danger…IE on your back with a bloody nose a split head and a man standing over you pummiling you in a frenzied attack.

This would be NOTHING if the black guy shot the hispanic.

The police supposedly told Zimmerman to NOT follow Trayvon.

It’s night when Trayvon wanted to go to the store, that’s when you go to the store too bit deal. He wore a hoodie big deal, I wear them too. You are the same gender of the last 8 burglars and then?

A self-appointed watch guy needs MORE information than the police to start a confrontative dialog, not less. Install some cameras in the neighborhood to get information, but you can’t start a heated argument just to gather information.

Race aside (and yes this wins FLA for Obama), when does a person give up his right to just walk around and not answer questions from big guy just because he calls himself something?

If I walk around your neighborhood “casing” the houses, you call the cops. They do their job. If I walk into your house, you do what you want. I’m for legalizing drugs so tools don’t get stolen from my car.

My point if , you don’t confront me on the sidewalk because I fit some ‘profile’ you imagine from watching too much COPS on TV. Your property/stuff isn’t that important. 1000 robberies < 1 life.

This is the same BS as the SWAT team killing the Iraqi vet for supposed drug related information. We need fewer SWAT teams and fewer CJ majors.

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona March 22, 2012 / 10:59 am

There is a difference between “legally obligated” and “reasonably expected”.

I once wrote a warning about being careful of wildlife. It basically said to be very watchful of chipmunks and bluebirds, etc. At the end it said that attacks were really only from bears, but it was considered racist to put out a warning about bears.

Situational awareness is all about being sensitive to what is different. A young man in a hoodie, walking at night, a stranger to people who keep an eye on things in their neighborhood, a neighborhood which has been hit by burglaries lately, is precisely what would, and SHOULD, stand out to a neighborhood watch.

In this case, he was black. I suggest the possibility, a pretty strong possibility given the concerns of the neighborhood, that he would also have attracted attention if he was Latino or Asian or, believe it or not, white. Contrary to the race-baiting of the racially hyper-conscious Left, there are plenty of details that attract attention besides skin color. Age, clothing, tattoos, not being recognizable by neighbors, even a style of walking, can attract attention before skin color is even noted. Demeanor is the most obvious characteristic seen at a distance.

In my old neighborhood in Denver, there were black families in the neighborhood. And they looked like everyone else in the neighborhood, with the single exception of skin color. When ANYONE who stood out walked through the neighborhood, people noticed. When we had some home invasions and a couple was beaten by invaders, we all became hypervigilant and scoped out every person on the street, and skin color was never an issue.

What the race-baiters seem to be saying is that this young man should have been given a pass just because he was black, no matter what else caught the attention of Neighborhood Watch. Kind of an Affirmative Action. And I say that is as racist as looking at him solely on the basis of his skin color.

He doesn’t like Democrats and finds cartoonish ways of describing them (Bill Clinton=bj Obama=Keynan Marxist usurper Jimmy Carter=nuclear engineer).

He worries too much about people coming to take his good stuff. He puts too much faith in TV news violence and quotes uncommon events as if they are common place, but that just makes him a typical FOX viewer. (Hint violence is overall on the downturn and prison populations are finally decreasing for the first time in decades).

If a sharpton-wannabe believes some of the moronic commentators on B4V and reallly believes you are a racist Nazi and sees you outside his house and thinks you are upto no good and maybe gonna lynch him, he can’t come out of his house, follow you around da hood (and I know you have visited da hood) and then when you stop and tell him to f**k off blow your brains out in self-defense. Especially if he has called the cops 50 times on suspicious crackers.

1 gated community where he teen was allowed NEVER a trespasser
2 the cops said to Mr. Copwannabe to NOT follow to NOT follow

I am courteous and would answer just to calm a tense situation, but in reality unless you are a cop, I don’t owe you an answer unless I am trespassing. There is no gated community vs hood in the US. There are laws that apply everywhere. Even people in gated communities don’t get to harass people they don’t know and declare them suspicious based on their vast experience of watching COPS on TV

STOP with the nonsense. Zimmerman is the delinquent with a gun. Your stuff that you’ve bought at the mall isn’t worth a preemptive attack even if you live in a gated community.

You can bring up previous robberies, maybe they’ll find some dirt on Travyon Martin, etc. it doesn’t matter. Your stuff isn’t that valuable in the grand scope of things that some neighborhood watch dude gets to pretend he’s a badasscop and harass ‘suspicious’ people outside your house.

In fact my in laws live in one and we are usually followed by some ole geezer on a golf cart until he sees where we pull in to then they will stop and chat for a minute.

      from the horses mouth…….

The police maintain that under state law they cannot arrest George Zimmerman, the 28-year-old neighborhood watch volunteer who was licensed to carry a concealed weapon, without probable cause. They turned the case over to the Seminole County state attorney this week.

A few neighborhood residents who say they heard a disturbance were interviewed by the police. But now two witnesses are coming forward to say their interviews were cursory, a charge the police department denies.

“The evidence doesn’t establish so far that Mr. Zimmerman did not act in self-defense,” Chief Bill Lee of the Sanford police said this week, responding to why Mr. Zimmerman had not been arrested. He said he would welcome a federal investigation. “We don’t have anything to dispute his claim of self-defense at this point.”

Florida’s self-defense law, known as Stand Your Ground, grants immunity to people who act to protect themselves if they have a reasonable fear they will be killed or seriously injured.

This kid was pursued, he was scared and when he defended himself against an armed agressor he was shot. This Zimmerman wasn’t a cop. If he was, Trayvon would be alive.

A spokeswoman for the Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights group that monitors hate groups, said her organization didn’t have any information on The New Black Liberation Militia. The group describes itself on its website as “Developing and Teaching Spiritual, Psychological, Social, Holistic and Scientific Methods and Techniques to ensure the survival of black people in the 21st century and beyond.”

They quote the SPLC. What a joke! They use SPLC as an expert source? A progressive-liberal, racist group who pronounced the tea partiers as extremist and racist. A group that doesn’t even recoginize the New Black Panthers as extremists.

It’s no surprise that you agree, because if this had not happened and was posed to you as a hypothetical you would agree with the current situation anyway. You have a history. There is no sheriff involved, it is the chief of police. The person who introduced the Stand Your Ground bill is as outraged as the rest of the country. (Except you of course.) Trayvon’s body was in a morgue for 2 days before his parents were contacted. The post death examination revealed neither drugs nor alcohol but did they examine Zimmerman? No. Did they do a background check on him to reveal his arrest record? No. Zimmerman was told with emphasis NOT to pursue Trayvon by the 911 dispatcher and he paid no attention to her. HE was the aggressor, not the victim which on its face is in direct violation of the law. If he was a police officer who had shot someone he would immediately be placed on leave and assigned a desk position. But Zimmerman is still walking around with a gun! What if YOUR child had on a hooded sweatshirt and was pursued by an adult who outweighed him or her by 100 lbs and ended up dead?
And I live in the city were you try to conflate two crimes. There is no equivillency. None. Zero and this feeble attempt to draw a connection
is a crude, uncreative deflection. The killing of Trayvon is in no way a justification or an excuse for the other crime. A crime committed by minors, not a self-appointed Barney Fife with a 9mm.

“Earlier reports by the liberal media gave the impression that Trayvon was much smaller than Zimmerman, stating that Zimmerman outweighed Trayvon by 110 lbs and that Trayvon only weighed 140lbs, which seems impossible if he stood six foot three and was on the football team.”

The liberal media have their new Rodney King. It is apparent they are trying to shape the narrative as before. With King, you rarely saw the WHOLE video, you would only see the beating already in progress to make King the helpless “victim”. You rarely saw him get up off the and attacking the police officers and acting belligerent to their instructions, which prompted the “beating” in the first place.

Now the media is showing an innocent little boy the “victim” of the big bad racist bully with a gun. They are sculpting the narrative the way they see fit.

If this incident had not happened they would have to cover rising gas prices and the poor job obAMATEUR is doing to fight it, contrary to their demands they had of Bush in fighting rising gas prices.

        OOH YEAH…..life can be a bmitch….

“John G. is 63 years old and owns a small business. He’s a life-long Republican and sees his dream of retiring next year has all but evaporated. With the stock market crashing and new taxes coming his way, John assumes now that he will work to his dying day.

John has a granddaughter. Ashley is a recent college grad. She drives a flashy hybrid car, wears all the latest fashions, and loves to go out to nightclubs and restaurants. Ashley campaigned hard for Barack Obama. After the election she made sure her grandfather (and all other Republican family members) received a big I told-you-so earful on how the world is going to be a much better place now that her party is taking over.

Having lost both roommates, Ashley recently ran short of cash and cannot pay the rent (again) on her 3 bedroom townhouse… Like she has done many times in the past, she e-mailed her grandfather asking for some financial help.

        Here is his reply:

Sweetheart, I received your request for assistance. Ashley, you know I love you dearly and I’m sympathetic to your financial plight. Unfortunately, times have changed. With the election of President Obama, your grandmother and I have had to set forth a bold new economic plan of our own….”The Ashley Economic Empowerment Plan.” Let me explain.

Your grandmother and I are life-long, wage-earning tax payers. We have lived a comfortable life, as you know, but we have never had the fancier things like European vacations, luxury cars, etc… We have worked hard and were looking forward to retiring soon. But the plan has changed. Your president is raising our personal and business taxes significantly. He says it is so he can give our hard earned money to other people… Do you know what this means, Ashley? It means less for us, and we must cut back on many business and personal expenses.

You know the wonderful receptionist who worked in my office for more than 23 years? The one who always gave you candy when you came over to visit? I had to let her go last week. I can’t afford to pay her salary and all of the government mandated taxes that go with having employees…. Your grandmother will now work 4 days a week to answer phones, take orders and handle the books. We will be closed on Fridays and will lose even more income.

I’m also very sorry to report that your cousin Frank will no longer be working summers in the warehouse. I called him at school this morning. He already knows about it and he’s upset because he will have to give up skydiving and his yearly trip to Greenland to survey the polar bears.

That’s just the business side of things. Some personal economic effects of Obama’s new taxation policies include none other than you. You know very well that over the years your grandmother and I have given you thousands of dollars in cash, tuition assistance, food, housing, clothing, gifts, etc., etc. But by your vote, you have chosen to help others — not at your expense — but at our expense.

If you need money now sweetheart, I recommend you call 202-456-1111 202-456-1111 202-456-1111 202-456-1111 . That is the direct phone number for the White House.. You can also contact the White House here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/CONTACT/%C2%A0;…

You yourself told me how foolish it is to vote Republican… You said Mr. Obama is going to be the ‘People’s President’, and is going to help every American live a better life. Based on everything you’ve told me, along with all the promises we heard during the campaign, I’m sure Mr. Obama will be happy to transfer some stimulus money into your bank account. Have him call me for the account number which I memorized years ago.

Perhaps you can now understand what I’ve been saying all my life: Those who vote for a president should consider the impact on the nation as a whole, and not be just concerned with what they can get for themselves. What Obama supporters don’t seem to realize is all of the money he is redistributing to illegal aliens and non-taxpaying Americans (the so-called “less fortunate”) comes from tax-paying families.

Remember how you told me, “Only the richest of the rich will be affected”? Well guess what, honey? Because we own a business, your grandmother and I are now considered to be the richest of the rich. On paper, it might look that way, but in the real world, we are far from it..

As you said while campaigning for Obama, some people will have to carry more of the burden so all of America can prosper… You understand what that means, right? It means that raising taxes on productive people results in them having less money; less money for everything, including granddaughters.

I’m sorry, Ashley, but the well has run dry. The free lunches are over… I have no money to give you now. So, congratulations on your choice for “change.” For future reference, I encourage you to try and add up the total value of the gifts and cash you have received from us, just since you went off to college, and compare it to what you expect to get from Mr. Obama over the next 4 (or 8) years. I have not kept track of it, Ashley. It has all truly been the gift of our hearts.

Remember, we love you dearly… but from now on you’ll need to call the number mentioned above. Your “Savior” has the money we would have given to you. Just try and get it from him.

        Good luck, sweetheart.

        Love, Grandpa”

Someone being murdered in the way Trayvon was takes on a higher priority than the price of gas.
There is no narrative, only the stark reality of what happened. And your lack of outrage is reflected in the same callousness in which he was killed and then totally disregarded as having no meaning to anyone; his family, his friends, etc.
Fox news is hardly a credible source, especially when they have devoted 1000 times less coverage to this story and when they have, they tried to turn this into a 2nd amendment issue. Furthermore, everything about the height and weight of both Zimmerman and Trayvon as stated by “John” flies in the face of the actual physical descriptions. But you all keep on investing in this defense. Imagine your outrage when Zimmerman is arrested and the law changed. Maybe you should act as defense council since you know so much about what “really” happened. Maybe you should go up against the weight of public outrage or better yet, talk to his parents and explain to them that their son, who body rot in a morgue for 2 days was the aggressor and that Zimmerman was well within his rights to act as judge, jury and executioner. Good luck!

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona March 22, 2012 / 11:40 am

Well, mitch, you can call it “murder” all you want, but that doesn’t make it so, any more than most of your silly rants have any basis in fact.

Your screed is nothing more than a collection of hyper-emotional projections of what you FEEL, stated as if fact.

You use inflammatory language to add emotion to your post, but it is all coming from your own mind. “Murder”, “callousness”,”totally disregarded as having no meaning to anyone”, “rotting in a morgue”, “judge, jury and executioner.”……quite a lot of hysteria, but all coming from your own feverswamp of a mind.

Why are you so deeply invested in this being a racially motivated hate crime? You dismiss Fox News out of hand as simply not being credible—convenient, but silly. You dismiss the eyewitness account. You dismiss some accounts of the physical size of the two men, cherrypicking the ones that support your hysterical narrative.

When only two people really know what happened, and one of them is dead, the evidence has to speak. And the evidence has the shooter on the ground, on his back, being hit in the face by the shootee. (And no, I will NOT call him a “victim”.)

Maybe YOU should act as prosecutor since you know so much about what “really” happened. After all, you don’t hesitate to make definitive statements based on nothing more than what you want to have happened, because that is what it would take to support your bigotry.

      • tiredoflibbs's avatar tiredoflibbs March 22, 2012 / 12:44 pm

Sorry mitchie, but the media is controlling the narrative just like they did with Rodney King. They are releasing information and sculpting the meaning of the information as they see fit. They are following the media motto: “if it bleeds, it leads”.

Regardless of what little information is out there about the incident. The irresponsible media is reporting on incomplete and out of context information available, making assumptions and the like, not waiting for coherent facts to be released. I never claimed I knew what happened. I only responded with the picture the media is trying to paint.

In effect, they are stirring the pot for ratings, just like they did with Rodney King. The full video of King was rarely shown. The part they always showed on their broadcasts were the cops trying to subdue him and paint the incident as a beating “because he was black”. They did not show a belligerent King attacking the police officers which started the whole incident. Nope.

The same can be said for Treyvon. The pictures they release of him looks to make him about age twelve and not the 17 yr old, 6 foot 2 football player. A 6 foot 2 ball player vs a 5 foot 2 man changes the picture doesn’t it? No one knows what really happened, at least not yet. All we have now are scattered facts and huge assumptions portrayed by the media.

However, I am not dismissing the actions of Zimmerman. As it stands right now (unless credible and contrary information comes forward) he should, in the least, be charged with man slaughter. I know you rely on the rating hungry media information for your “trial” of Zimmerman and complete innocence of Martin.

Also, let’s not forget the groups who are trying to exploit this sad incident, but it seems you have fallen for it already. The first groups are those that are making this a pure racial issue – he was shot because he was black. The second group are the anti-2nd Amendment groups – repeal the law and enforce more gun control. You play into their hands with every post. Are you fond of being their puppet?

The drama you write is good for an episode of Law and Order but in reality it does not fit – at least until credible information and not sculpted information has been released.

Right now the media is cashing in on ratings and could care less about the complete truth. They want to get as much mileage as possible from the narrative they are portraying – just like the Rodney King incident.

Oh, BTW, please stop repeating those theatrics. Those theatrics cloud the minds of weak-minded individuals – namely you!

“Neighborhood Watch Shooting: Key Witness “John” Speaks Out

Trayvon Martin was on top of Zimmerman punching him when he was shot! Media has known since Feb. 27th

The following video and its transcript contain the statements by “John” who is a witness to the Neighborhood Watch Shooting. “John” has stated that Trayvon Martin was on top of and beating the Neighborhood Watchman, George Zimmerman. Trayvon was wearing a “hoodie” that evening and Zimmerman was wearing a red sweater.

The liberal media has literally shown pictures of Trayvon as a twelve year old boy as if those pictures were recent. Trayvon was 17 years old and a member of the high school football team.

Internet Blogs are stating that Trayvon was six foot three inches tall and George Zimmerman was five feet two. Earlier reports by the liberal media gave the impression that Trayvon was much smaller than Zimmerman, stating that Zimmerman outweighed Trayvon by 110 lbs and that Trayvon only weighed 140lbs, which seems impossible if he stood six foot three and was on the football team.

Man shot and killed in neighborhood altercation: MyFoxORLANDO.com

Below is a transcript of the Fox News interview of the witness “John” by reporter Keith Landry.

Narration: Sanford police (are) still trying to figure out exactly what happened in this spot here last night. We talked to a man who didn’t want to be shown on camera, who witnessed part of the attack right here then went upstairs to his window and witnessed the rest of it after he called 911.

Reporter: “What are you thinking now about all this?”

Narration: This afternoon I talked to “John” through his front door about what he saw last night during a fight that turned into a deadly shooting.

John: “The guy on the bottom (Zimmerman) who I believe had a red sweater on was yelling to me ‘help, help’. I told him (Trayvon) to stop (beating Zimmerman) and called 911.

Narration: John locked his patio door, ran upstairs and heard at least one gun shot.

John: And then when I got upstairs and looked down, the person (Trayvon), who was on top, beating up the other guy, was the one laying in the grass and I believe he was dead at that point.”

Conservatives know that his God given inner strength can lift him up with our individual encouragement and support. It’s amazing what the individual can do when challenged, unfortunately liberals believe that those challenges are the fault of someone else and government needs to step in.

    Awesome — it worked!

this is just too funny not to share.

White House spokesman Jay Carney carefully deflected Vice President Joe Biden’s Monday night declaration that the successful raid on Osama bin Laden’s hideout was the most audacious military strike in 500 years.

“He meant the decision the president made… was a very difficult one,” said Carney, when asked about Biden’s gaffe. “When you’re president, you have to make the tough decisions.”

Carney kept a straight face amid laughter from journalists attending the press conference.

But Carney stepped back when asked if the bin Laden raid was more audacious that the D-Day landings on the Nazi-held Normandy coast in June 1944.

“Well, the historical assessments, I’ll leave to him and others,” Carney said.

Biden’s assessment of his boss rates Obama above other leaders, including President Abraham Lincoln, F.D.R., Gen. Dwight Eisenhower and George S. Patton, or Gen. DoLittle, who flew ground-based bombers off an aircraft carrier in 1942 on a one-way mission to attack Tokyo targets.

Biden newest gaffe was made at a March 19 fundraiser, declaring “you can go back 500 years. You cannot find a more audacious plan. Never knowing for certain. We never had more than a 48 percent probability that he was there.”

Boy, I sure hope the Secret Service keeps Obama safe until next January 20th.

He’s won 54% of the delegates so far, and if he continues to win that percentage of the remaining 1,154 delegates, that will put him at 1,181 after the last primary in Utah, with 1,144 need to win. The comments above are curious coming from some of the same people who a couple days ago were so zealous about standing up to bullies. I would suggest that from Trayvon’s perception, he was being confronted by a bully. Remember, he is minding his own business, he is breaking no law, he is on foot. And suddenly he is being followed by a bigger, older guy who just got out of an SUV.

So when Trayvon is confronted in an aggressive manner by the bigger guy, who produces no credentials, who clearly isn’t a cop, he is scared. The phone conversation with his girlfriend supports the idea that he was scared. It’s a desperate situation and he needs to do something to defend himself. So he hits the guy in the nose. The “Stand your ground” law, at least in theory, applies equally to Trayvon as it does to Zimmerman.

Up to that moment Zimmerman is feeling cocky and powerful, but suddenly he gets hit in the nose. And from then on all he sees is red. That’s exactly what the real cops were trying to prevent by telling Zimmerman to stay put. The little actually guy “stood his ground”, in Florida’s legal parlance, to the bully – but the bully had a gun and he pulled it.

The fact seems pretty clear that in his own mind, Trayvon was standing up to a bully. It’s fine ethically for you people here and your kids to stand up to bullies, and for Zimmerman to “stand his ground” – so why not for Trayvon? Double standard, anybody?

Do you have a record of what John allegedly saw?

    • Amazona's avatar Amazona March 22, 2012 / 11:15 am

That is quite a detailed narrative, dennis. But it is wholly imaginary, coming from your own mind and not from any objective external reality.

Yes, it could be true in some detail or even all.

I could invent my own narrative, in which a stranger in a clearly marked Neighborhood Watch area is approached by a man who wants to know what he is doing there, and the stranger replies, very politely, “My name is John Doe and I am visiting my father over at 1111 Elm Street. His name is Jim Doe. If you want to call him to confirm this, his number is ————–” And in my narrative, it all ends here, with an apology to the stranger and an explanation that there have been eight burglaries nearby recently and everyone is on high alert.

A hostile or belligerent response to someone who wants to know what you are doing in a certain place at a certain time might be a knee-jerk reaction to perceived racism, it might be a teen-aged testosterone surge, it might be genuine fear based on brainwashing that all whites want to kill all blacks, but it is still going to make things worse instead of better. We don’t know it was a hostile or belligerent response, but we do know the questioner was physically attacked and knocked down, which seems to indicate that it was.

There is a certain degree of responsibility associated with every action. If someone comes to my door and demands to know my name and why I am here, I will be less accommodating than if I am walking by his house at night in a neighborhood where I have never been, where I am not familiar, and which is clearly marked as a neighborhood where people keep a close eye on things.

      My turf, my rules.
      Your turf, your rules.

      • dennis's avatar dennis March 22, 2012 / 12:23 pm

No, Amazona – the turf / rules metality doesn’t fly. The law applies in any case, and if “stand your ground” is the law in Florida it applies equally to Trayvon as it does to Zimmerman. Doesn’t matter who lives where, if no laws were being broken.

Don’t know where this post will end up, as random placement seems to be the rule on this turf.

      • Robin Naismith Green's avatar Robin Naismith Green March 22, 2012 / 7:50 pm

Amazona, really? “It can’t be true but it could be true.” really? Zimmerman barraged the police with 911 calls to the point where he became a problem and he only reported to police when he sawe someone black. Clearly the man has had some problem with black men in the past. I’m sure it will come out in federal court.

With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: “Do as you please.” “Do as you please.” To the young, I would whisper, “The Bible is a myth.” I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what is bad is good, and what is good is “square”. And the old, I would teach to pray. I would teach them to pray after me, ‘Our Father, which art in Washington…’

And then I’d get organized. I’d educate authors on how to make lurid literature exciting, so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting. I’d threaten TV with dirtier movies and vice versa. I’d pedal narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.

If I were the devil I’d soon have families that war with themselves, churches that war with themselves, and nations that war with themselves; until each in its turn was consumed. And with promises of higher ratings I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flame. If I were the devil I would encourage schools to refine young intellects, and neglect to discipline emotions—just let those run wild, until before you knew it, you’d have to have drug sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.

Within a decade I’d have prisons overflowing, I’d have judges promoting pornography—soon I could evict God from the courthouse, and then the schoolhouse, and then from the houses of Congress. And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and deify science. I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls, and church money. If I were the devil I’d make the symbols of Easter an egg and the symbol of Christmas a bottle.

If I were the devil I’d take from those who have, and give to those who wanted until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. What do you bet I could get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich? I would question against extremes and hard work, and Patriotism, and moral conduct. I would convince the young that marriage is old-fashioned, that swinging is more fun, that what you see on the TV is the way to be. And thus I could undress you in public, and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure. In other words, if I were to devil I’d keep on doing on what he’s doing. Paul Harvey, good day.”

It was as though Paul Harvey had a functional crystal ball back in 1965.
