Earlier today I came across yet another one of those stories of the horrific effects of gender mutilation of children. This story was told by the sister of one such boy who’s life was pretty much wrecked by it: the usual thing – kid is depressed and out of sorts, diagnosed after cursory examination as “gender dysphoria” and we’re off to the races. Puberty blockers, dress like a girl, change your pronouns…in this case, it was fortunate that the poor boy held back from “bottom surgery” (you know, where they cut off a child’s genitalia) but the final result was still a completely messed up life. Now out in the world – his sister doesn’t know where – living his life as a gay man.
You can’t, you know?, unblock puberty. Once you mess with that natural development of the human body you can’t have a do-over on it. It either happens in the natural course of events, or it is prevented from happening and so never occurs. And you need to really consider it. Puberty is not just the development of sexual capability. You don’t just grow a beard or breasts depending…your whole body changes and your brain becomes a mature, adult brain. You stop that from happening and you will never be what you were supposed to be. This is why de-transitioners still report massive problems. Relieved that they no longer have to go through the hormones and such, but still permanently mentally and physically crippled by the process. But one thing really struck me: at the end of her story, the lady was still saying that her brother’s “gender dysphoria” wasn’t properly treated. That is the whole problem.
There is no such thing as “gender dysphoria”.
Oh, I know: any Lefty or such who comes across this will reject that statement in fury and refer me to The Science. There are studies! Yeah, whatever. I don’t care. It doesn’t exist. Nobody is born in the wrong body. Nobody is unsure of what their gender is. To me, it isn’t even a psychological problem: it is just stupid. Something bored rich people do.
Do keep in mind that everyone in the West – even the poorest Westerners – are bored, rich people. Bored, rich people who don’t know anything…and so are easily convinced that you can change your gender like changing your socks.
The other day I came across this Tik Tok video of a young lady – maybe 20 to 25 years old – who was having a meltdown over having to work a 40 hour week and pay for her apartment and doing everything for herself (you know: cooking, cleaning). There were, naturally, a lot of “suck it up, sunshine” comments on it and that is a correct enough attitude as far as it goes. But it really didn’t address the source of the lady’s problem: life is nearly effortless and she was upset that it wasn’t completely effortless. She really wasn’t putting all that much effort into it. So, why can’t she just live and not have to put any effort into it? Why wont someone just take care of her so she can just do her thing?
But then you think about it: what would be her thing? Probably some mix of going out to eat, shopping, texting, posting on social media, going to a show. In other words: nothing. She doesn’t have a thing. She doesn’t have a life. She’s a bored rich person who lacks any conception of higher things. That combined with the story of the ruined boy’s life came together and struck me with great force: the real crisis of our time is a rising generation of people who know nothing, can do nothing, have no real imagination but are bored. Very, very bored.
A few years back one of the social media jokesters – observing a story of kids graduating high school when illiterate – observed that if you spend 12 years learning something, you shouldn’t just be able to read, you should be Batman. That really did cut to the chase: we’re sending kids to 12 years of school – and as they want to make pre-K to Graduate School free, the demand is that we send kids to school for 20 years – and we’re really not getting much of a product out of the effort. Over the past few weeks college kids at elite universities have been out in force chanting “from the river to the sea” and, when asked, they can’t identify which river or which sea. College kids. Elite universities. They don’t know basic facts about geography. We’ve all seen this for years. Getting a degree doesn’t require effort; it just requires being there. This is why people are paying $250,000.00 per kid for coaches to help them check off the boxes demanded for Ivy League admission. These coaches are not helping kids master knowledge…they’re telling them what to say and do, what social activities to engage in. In other words, they’re teaching the kids to fake it until they make it.
Now, imagine a world where the kids were actually challenged from Day One. Instead of just letting them slide – because that is easier for the adults – we made them work? Think about it: we’re a very rich society. In 2019 – the most recent year full numbers are available for – we spent a total of $752.3 billion on K-12 education. We had 48 million kids in school that year. That’s $15,600.00 per kid. A teacher with 25 kids in her class represents $390,000.00 in expenditure…and we’re not even getting literacy out of it!
Educating kids isn’t hard. I know teachers like to say it is, but it isn’t. Kids are freaking sponges for knowledge. They want to know. They want to get better at it. They may buck fiercely against the more boring, drudge-like aspects of it (like learning multiplication and such) but they still want to master it. For their own self esteem. To shine among peers. To figure it out. They are, in fact, learning all the time: someone is giving them an education every minute they are awake. It is just that these days, since the adults who are supposed to care have abdicated, it is social media, gaming and Tik Tok influencers who are teaching them…so, they hate Israel without knowing why, are sure that the Climate God is angry and, hey, maybe I’m not a boy after all? That purple-haired xir on Instagram gets 10,000 likes per post and xi say xir not a boy! And that is how it goes. Rich kids, knowing nothing and without anything to do, simply find something to do…something which for a completely uneducated mind seems to offer an explanation of life.
But suppose we spent that $390,000.00 per classroom actually challenging the kiddies? Making them do the work? They will respond to it, just as kids always have. Even if the response was not exactly what the teacher demanded. Churchill’s teachers forcefully demanded that he learn Latin and Greek…he stubbornly refused, even in the face of severe corporeal punishment. Some kids are like that. But he also went and read English literature of the highest order and learned the structure of the English language in order to show his teachers what he could do: his act of defiance was to learn something else and better than any one teacher could have done. “We shall fight them in the fields” had its origin in an 8 year old boy who simply refused to learn Latin.
But the main thing is that he was challenged. He wasn’t allowed to do nothing. His teachers and his parents insisted that he get on and get the work done, even though he was a child of privilege (the grandson of a Duke, after all) and would, in the nature of things, likely be able to take a Ruling Class sinecure. They still pushed. Because you have to push kids. They desperately want to know, but being immature they also always want the shortcut and would prefer to skate. For the past 40 years or so, we’ve been all shortcut and skating – and now we’ve got anti-Semite college students who would make Streicher blush and kids sure that God and Nature placed them in the wrong body. We do have to reverse this.
We need first and foremost to dispense with the current education regime. It is so corrupt and useless that it cannot be reformed. We can’t abolish it right now because too many people are making money off it, but we must start to build a parallel education system which will eventually replace it. In our Red States we should be seeking to create schools that will really challenge the kids. Make them learn. Wash them out if they refuse to learn – for a while there’s still going to be the regular public school system where we can put the precious child mommy doesn’t want challenged in. But parents who have some grit and kids who will accept some discipline…lets have at it. Let us teach an 8 year old Latin. And get them outdoors and exercising. And learning to shoot and otherwise handle weapons. Fix a car, build a fence. Can you imagine a future world, just 20 years from now, where we have a cadre of kids who are deeply instructed, physically fit and armed? How safe and stable will that world be? We won’t have exactly created a generation of Batman…but compared to the sorry specimens that will come out of public schools, we may as well have.
The future can’t be ours. As always, the future belongs to who is there. Right now, what’s going to be there is a kid unsure of gender but certain The Jews are bad. This doesn’t sound too good to me. But we have the power to place in that future – competing with the purple haired ignoramuses – a group of kids who both know and can do.
I think we should do it.
Illegals Explain Difference Between N.Y. and Fla. to Stunned CNN Reporter
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg released five illegals without bail who brutally assaulting two NYPD cops, even though the assault was captured on video. There are also illegals working in groups who’ve committed multi robberies and grand larcenies. Apparently, all of or the majority of them have also been released without bail.
“So what the detectives are telling me is, they have crews here that operate in New York, do all their stealing, then go to Florida to spend the money and then come back. I’m like, ‘Why don’t they just stay and steal in Florida?’ They said, ‘Because there you go to jail,’” Miller added.
A visibly stunned Hill responded with a simple, “Oh.”
Yet another case of, “Are you really that f..ing stupid. Apparently so. These people should NEVER be allowed anywhere near a position of authority.
https://headlineusa.com/illegals-explain-difference-between-n-y-and-fla-to-stunned-cnn-reporter/?utm_source=HUSA_EMAIL_NSP2000&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=HUSAemail
Let’s not forget that this is the same District Attorney who dragged an old dismissed case out of archives, one which had been deemed not a crime involving an alleged act that was beyond the statute of limitations, invented a unique interpretation of the law, attached it to a federal statute so he could revive it, and used this unholy hybrid of non-crimes to use the power of the State against a political foe, in an effort to influence a presidential election.
His priorities are clear. What is not clear is why he still has a job.
I’ve noted that the Democrats and the Uniparty Right are now saying we can’t deport all the illegals who have come in…saying that logistically it is impossible and that the American people would demand an end to deportations once the MSM starts showing crying illegals being deported.
That is just drivel. Designed to get us to accept our fate. I think the American people are very much in a mood to deport and what arrived here in 4 years can be sent back in 1.
Naturally if we give the Left control of the narrative they will play it to the max. A good communicator could set the stage. I think we need to take responsibility for the influx of illegals because we essentially promised them the sun, the moon and the stars if they would sell everything they owned (and most of those coming here now paid tens of thousands of dollars to the cartels) to come here for Free Everything. We need to own that. We need to say that a segment of our government had done this, for political reasons they couched in false terms of compassion and generosity, but they were using these people to gain power and it was shameful. Now the situation has to be corrected.
And I would make the deportation as pleasant as possible. If we can hand out prepaid debit cards and so on, we can give every departing migrant a thousand dollars and some goodies in a little travel bag, like international first class plane passengers get. And we can and should charter planes to get them back home. It’s just PR. Charter some nice planes, gather a thousand or so people every day at every major airport, have food there and a pleasant atmosphere, and put the people on three nice planes that will get them close to their old homes, or wherever they want to go in their own countries. AND APOLOGIZE FOR WHAT THEY HAVE HAD TO GO THROOUGH
Will people be sad to go? Probably, though some might be disenchanted with the broken promises they have encountered No one told them they would be housed in what really amount to fancy prisons. No one told them about winter. No one told them they would just be hanging around with their hands out like beggars, with nothing to do all day.
So do it, but do it right. Show respect and concern for the people we are sending back. And you know those giant thermometer signs they have to show how close a charity is getting to its goal? Have one of those in the background every place the Agenda Media want to set up cameras, with the cost of correcting the human and economic misery of the Biden failure.
If we haven’t figured out by now that it’s all about the narrative we deserve to always be on the back foot while the Left runs all over us with their brilliant propaganda machine. So the theme should be “Sorry the Dems lied to you, but that’s what they do, and people suffer.”
And in the meantime have an ongoing tally of the economic cost of the Biden Open Borders fiasco. Maybe the RNC could stop buying flower arrangements and buy billboard space, where the cost of fixing the problem is updated every week. And it would not be hard to get some interviews with people who lost everything to come here illegally and had horrible experiences, of rape or robbery, and found the promise of a wonderful life here to be a lie as they got shuffled around to places where no one wanted them, where they had no real homes or jobs. Focus on the HUMAN cost of the Open Borders scheme, and the inhumanity of luring people to make these sacrifices to use them.
I am so sick and tired of the Left controlling the narrative.
… happens in the natural course of events
And therein lies the problem. Nothing has happened in the natural course of events for 60 years now, ever since LBJ and the Great Society. In 1965, 24% of black babies were born into single parent household, and that number is over 70% today. The numbers are lower for white and hispanic households, but those numbers have dramatically increased as well over the last 60 years. The problem is, parents are not raising their children anymore … teacher unions and social media are raising our children, and when parents don’t raise children, there’s no discipline, no structure, no expectations, no guidance, and no love, and that is a dangerous recipe that we are all seeing pay out in real time in Americas cities and streets.
Societal manipulation is what the Democrat Left excel at and it is the reason why the west has become fat and lazy. Let’s get back to the “natural course of events”, ie; men need women, women need men, children need parents, parents need children, children need structure and discipline, families need a community, and EVERYONE NEEDS FAITH.
And right on queue, this mornings headline screams “UNNATURAL COURSE OF EVENTS”
Bay Area elementary school where just 4% of students are proficient in math and 12% in English spent $250K on ‘Woke Kindergarten’ program

Several years ago I read an in-depth article based on the concept that Latin America would be the salvation of Western civilization. In spite of its occasional flirtation with socialism (due to the opportunism of Leftism in areas of poverty) the core culture of Latin America is very much like what ours was in the United States prior to—to pick an era of change—the 1960s That is, families, children, faith, industriousness and focus on merit and accomplishment, personal responsibility, respect for the past; the elements of American culture that made us great, and which are now so severely eroded they are ridiculed and under attack by their enemies, the Left.
If I were to vote for a pack of foreigners to help American restore herself it would be Nigerian Christians…Mass attendance for Nigerian Catholics is something like 97% weekly and from Bishops to laity they want nothing to do with feeble, left-Catholicism. I’ve seen the videos of these people – poor but filled with joy; under daily threat of Islamist attack yet firm in their faith.
I was at Mass today and it was just another Mass as far as that goes but as it proceeded – and I do think my priest is first rate – I felt that the American Church is really missing its calling right now. There is so much wrong and everyone knows its wrong and we are not hearing a call from the pulpit for a bit of Christian heroism. This is not to say the Church should enter the partisan, political field but she needs to be very much more forthright in calling out what is wrong and demanding repentance.
My church is seeing an incredible growth spurt just in the last year or less – lots of young people and young families. We have a game night the first Friday of every month, the primary goal being fellowship. This past Friday night I was talking to a young couple who just started coming to church since the first of the year and asked them what motivated them. They said there is a hunger among people their age for something to help deal with the daily grind, and that it felt like every other organization they’ve looked at sought to dehumanize them (their words, not mine). I hope it’s contagious.
I don’t know who came up with the Jackass as the symbol of the Democrat Party, but it’s one of the most accurate pieces of symbolism in the history of politics.
You all know how I love to give weather people a rough time when their forecasts are way off the mark. I realize they’re not the same people who claim to know what the temperature is going to be 50 or 100 years from now, but climatology is really nothing more than the study of long-term weather patterns. I don’t even put much faith in 10-day forecasts, so it’s kind of difficult to take multi-decade forecasts seriously
This year has been a tough year for our local weather forecasters. We had one day last summer when the forecast was for low 90s, and our high was 78. And this wasn’t a long-range forecast but the night before. A couple of weeks ago the head meteorologist on our local CBS affiliate predicted 1 – 10 inches of snow. I’m not making that up, and that was hours before the snow started falling. Yesterday the forecast was for a high of 42 by late afternoon. We hit a high of 35 by around 2 PM, and by 5 were were back to 30. Today’s forecast is for a high of 49, and at 12:30 we’re at 33. I keep a tab open on my computer for AccuWeather, and they’re also showing 33 but in the hour by hour details they’re saying it SHOULD be 42. AND THEY’RE STILL GETTING PAID, AND PROBABLY NOT AN INSIGNIFICANT AMOUNT!
A few years ago a Denver TV station was reporting that there was still a possibility of snow, while we had several inches on the ground and flights were canceled. Someone suggested buying the station a weather rock.
You put it on your windowsill and watch it. If it gets hot, the sun is shining. If it is wet, it is raining. And if it’s white it’s snowing.
I find weather.com to be pretty accurate. I check three locations—where I live in Colorado and Florida and my horse property in Wyoming—and the temps and predictions are usually very close to what we get.
A lot of good ones today – as usual.
Still trying to figure out how to post an image to the blog. Care to share?
What kind of image? You mean like a meme or cartoon?
The images Amazona and I posted are from Robert Malone’s Substack, from his “Sunday Strip.” Right click on the image and select “copy image address.” In the comment block here right click again and select “paste.”
What about pictures that people have sent me over email that don’t have an associated address link?
Most images like memes, cartoons, and news photos are in png format. I’ve never figured out how to post something like a photo off my phone, which is in jpeg format. Maybe Cluster, Amazona or Mark knows how.
No idea – I still have Matt doing the cover art!
Why do Republicans think we need a new law to close the border?? Why do Republicans think Democrats will abide by any new laws to close the border??? We don’t need any new laws and we can never trust Democrats. James Lankford is fucking moron. Kill the bill
https://twitter.com/NEWSMAX/status/1737935126028316795?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1737935126028316795%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thegatewaypundit.com%2F2024%2F02%2Fi-think-so-i-think-i-will-do%2F
Breaking it down further, the $118.28 billion “national security supplemental package” includes: Gotta brand it with a catchy important-sounding name, doncha know? NATIONAL SECURITY somehow depends on funding Ukraine and Hamas, with a slight nod to Israel with what is left after the $10 billion to Hamas. Last I heard a couple of million bucks per state would let a lot of border security be put in place to enforce existing laws. Do that and stop refusing to let Border Patrol do their jobs and stop piling up more pork for symbolic actions that are meaningless.
$60.06 billion to support Ukraine as it fights back against Putin’s bloody invasion and protects its people and sovereignty basically telegraphs its bias. Do we need to have the invasion described as “bloody”?
$14.1 billion in security assistance for Israel at the same time as $10 billion in humanitarian assistance to provide food, water, shelter, medical care, and other essential services to civilians in Gaza and the West Bank, Ukraine, and other populations caught in conflict zones across the globe.
So it’s $14.4 billion for Israel at the same time $10 billion is going to Hamas. Forget the coy reference to “Ukraine and other populations”. Ukraine already has its 60 billion, plus, and I doubt that much would go any “other populations”. This is Hamas aid, period.
$20.23 billion to address existing operational needs and expand capabilities at our nation’s borders, and RESOURCE THE NEW BORDER POLICIES. We need “new border policies”? And they don’t need to be implemented, they just need to be “resourced”? What the hell does that even mean?
$400 million for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to help nonprofits and places of worship make security enhancements. Why? Which “nonprofits” will get this money, why do they have to make “security enhancements” and why is it the job of the federal government to do this? Any guesses on whether Planned Parenthood and NPR will be lined up at that trough, citing security concerns that need “enhancements”?
It’s going to take a billion and a half dollars to do our job in the Red Sea? Gee, maybe we should have an admiral with, you know, real balls instead of a fake identity and some actual military knowledge and planning.
And there is a throwaway fentanyl eradication comment. No details. No funding.
This is a horrible, horrible, inexcusable bill. We should have just refused to play the game. Have any Republicans supported this?
Shortly before 7 p.m. last night and after months of talks, Senate negotiators finally released the text of their ambitious $118 billion compromise package to fund aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan along with new border security funding. By 9 p.m., the package was all but dead.
“I’ve seen enough,” House Speaker Mike Johnson tweeted. “This bill is even worse than we expected, and won’t come close to ending the border catastrophe the president has created.”
Rep. Steve Scalise, the majority leader who controls the floor of the House, agreed: “The Senate Border Bill will NOT receive a vote in the House,” he wrote.
Whether it will get even that far is an open question. The Senate is likely to vote on the bill this week, but some Republicans in that chamber, including Sens. Mike Lee and Josh Hawley, have already savaged the package as well.
The financial toplines of the bill from the Senate Appropriations Committee include $62 billion of new aid to Ukraine, $20 billion for border security and to combat drug trafficking, and $14 billion of military aid to Israel. There’s also billions allotted for humanitarian assistance in Gaza and Ukraine to deter Chinese aggression in the Indo-Pacific and to “address combat expenditures related to conflict in the Red Sea.”
But, perhaps oddly, it’s the changes to border policy that have many Republicans so steamed. The bill’s advocates argue that it offers desperately needed improvements to the central weakness of current U.S. immigration policy: the overrun, backlogged asylum system, under which a greater number of migrants wait longer times for a date with a judge who can decide whether they qualify to stay under asylum law. The backlog creates its own perverse incentives. For a migrant, getting an asylum court date is currently tantamount to a year or more of free passage around the country, whether he’s likely to ultimately win his case or not. This lures more and more migrants into the pipeline, making the backlog even worse
The bill proposes to address this backlog in several ways. It would allot heaps of new money to broaden the pipeline, from more ICE agents to more asylum officers to more detention beds, making it easier to adjudicate asylum cases quickly and allowing the government to detain more migrants in the meantime. It would also tighten the requirements for who can apply for asylum at all, such as by barring migrants who could have resettled within their own country or who could have resettled in another country on the way to America. And it would create a new pressure valve for the whole system in the form of a near-total temporary border shutdown when crossings are happening in particularly high numbers (specifically, an average of 5,000 crossings a day).
An observation: In our immigration law (yes, there is such a thing) asylum is purely political. Asylum is protection for people being persecuted.
“…the applicant must establish that race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion was or will be at least one central reason for persecuting the applicant.”
It is NOT for people who want better or different jobs or housing or health care. Being poor does not qualify one for asylum.
Under Trump, reasonable rules were in place. People who planned to apply for asylum had to remain in Mexico while applying. And there were rules for who could not qualify:
Paragraph (1) shall not apply to an alien if the Attorney General determines that—
(i)the alien ordered, incited, assisted, or otherwise participated in the persecution of any person on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion;
(ii)the alien, having been convicted by a final judgment of a particularly serious crime, constitutes a danger to the community of the United States;
(iii)there are serious reasons for believing that the alien has committed a serious nonpolitical crime outside the United States prior to the arrival of the alien in the United States;
(iv)there are reasonable grounds for regarding the alien as a danger to the security of the United States;
(v)the alien is described in subclause (I), (II), (III), (IV), or (VI) of section 1182(a)(3)(B)(i) of this title or section 1227(a)(4)(B) of this title (relating to terrorist activity), unless, in the case only of an alien described in subclause (IV) of section 1182(a)(3)(B)(i) of this title, the Attorney General determines, in the Attorney General’s discretion, that there are not reasonable grounds for regarding the alien as a danger to the security of the United States; or
(vi)the alien was firmly resettled in another country prior to arriving in the United States.”
Now the rules have been redefined, and how anyone who is a “refugee” can ask for asylum—and anyone who is here is considered a ‘refugee”.
Supporters of the bill claim that “It would also tighten the requirements for who can apply for asylum at all, such as by barring migrants who could have resettled within their own country or who could have resettled in another country on the way to America. “ I’ll believe that when and if I see it. Maybe repeated public announcements that poverty is not an accepted reason for asking for asylum, that there must be proof of actual persecution for any of the acceptable reasons and a true threat to the people involved. Knowing this and knowing it will be enforced would make a lot of people realize they would not qualify so why bother with the expense and danger of the trip. Under Biden, you can stroll across the border, get a phone and a prepaid debit card, get taken somewhere to stay, get fed, maybe get a trip to some other city, hang out till you get in front of a judge (if you decide to even try, once you are here) and have plenty of time, on the government dime, to collect more benefits and maybe just disappear into the masses without ever even appearing if your number ever comes up.
James Lankford, Mitch McConnell, and Mitt Romney, to name a few, are all on board. This bill is DOA in the House so we can be thankful for that
