We Have One President

As JD Vance posted on X today:

Career bureaucrats don’t get to violate lawful orders from the President of the United States. They answer to the president, and he answers to the people.

Really not that complicated.

And as I said some long while ago: we elect one person to be President. Per the Constitution:

The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.

Not vested in a committee. Not vested in government employees. Not vested in some bizarre coalition of media types, bureaucrats, former Democrat Presidents and RINOs: a President has all executive power. If there’s something the federal government is allowed to actually do, it is the President who does it. This is actually a bit different from every other nation on Earth – because we’re a bunch of American weirdos as far as form of government goes. Personally, I like it – but it is a strange hybrid of Monarchy, Republic and Democracy. If run properly, it works like a charm. All Trump is doing is moving us back to a Constitutional form of government.

And that has the overall establishment (more and more are calling it The Blob – and that’s a good description) in a panic. As I’ve also been saying: there’s trillions of dollars of annual spending at stake here. Huge numbers of people – foreign and American, private and public sectors – simply live off The Blob. They have no other life skill than extracting taxpayer money from it. They don’t do anything. They don’t know how to do anything. Their whole career path (and lots of them have advanced degrees!) is get in and then just rising up the path ever higher in the government/corporate/NGO system. Never having once been held accountable but each year getting more income and benefits. Trump is a threat to that – and it does involved millions of people. Over on Bluesky the Left is apoplectic – and there are subtle calls for violence. If I dug deeper I’d probably find open calls – but looking at Leftist chatter is something you can only do in short bursts.

Of course, I do expect The Blob to react – and I honestly hope that Trump’s security team is absolutely first rate. Vance’s too. Heck, even Rubio’s. Remember, many Leftists are certifiable and just as in the two attempts in 2024, there are plenty of people who will believe that shutting down USAID is the End of Our Democracy and will act accordingly.

UPDATE: Just want to point out something as we really start to get some whines from The Blob about how hard this all is. Peter the Great in his great, reforming drive in Russia relied mostly on a few close aides and some foreign employees because he simply didn’t – or couldn’t – trust a lot of run-of-the-mill Russians to carry out the reforms (they were by and large not liked by the Russian people who preferred to stick with their old ways). This did make sure a lot of Peter’s orders were carried out with dispatch but he got the “cat’s away/mice will play” problem. In other words: if Peter wasn’t directly watching, these people would steal everything that wasn’t nailed down. Eventually it was found out and Peter, being what he was, had the miscreants knouted – this was whipping with a pretty horrific rawhide device.

On the day of the punishment he had it all done in the public square with him and other prominent people in attendance along with a great mass of Russian people. There was no specific number of lashes ordered – they were to be beaten until Peter said to stop. They went at it. Probably quite the horrific spectacle but it was getting Peter’s point across. Why bring this up?

Because when the thieves were a few strokes away from death, Peter ordered a halt. The men with the whips then shouted up to Peter:

“Please, little father, let us beat them a little more: they stole the bread out of our mouths!”

Peter, though, ordered it stopped. Here’s the thing – everyone who works for a non-profit who is making more than the average American income is stealing money out of the mouths of the poor. That they are doing it legally just makes it worse. A non-profit is a charity. Its why we don’t tax it. A charity isn’t a place to have a career – its a place to dispense aid to the poor.

The people losing their place at the troughs should count themselves lucky we’re not whipping them for what they’ve done.

Democrats are completely unhinged on X and haven’t learned a thing … it’s amazing to watch. Just yesterday, reports were that Democrats were requiring a “gender balanced” board to vote for new leadership. They had 2 women, 2 men, and were searching for someone else who represented the “other genders”. This is how far gone they are. Democrats allowed the far left to hijack their party and as a consequence, only 30% of Americans currently have a favorable view of that party … which is still too high in my opinion. My hope is that they will continue to be marginalized to the point of just going away, but based on comments on X from some prominent Democrats, and the fact that MSNBC is doubling down on their narrative … there may be some conflicts down the road. We will learn that when you take away their free money, Democrats get violent.

They’ve learned nothing and forgotten nothing – we’re two weeks into Trump II and his opponents are defending illegal immigrants and government bureaucrats!

The official word is still that we’ll do badly in the 2026 mid-terms – that is the historic norm. But if Trump gets even moderate economic success while Dems keep defending the indefensible, might come out very different.

We are more likely to do badly if we stick to the losing strategy of running against PEOPLE instead of ideas. This next election cycle is probably the most favorable in recent history to cite the bad ideas of the opposition and point out the inevitable bad outcomes from those ideas, instead of focusing on the people who represent them.

We spent four years being ruled instead of governed, and we need to point out that this is what happens when power is consolidated in the hands of a few elites.

New York AG Urges Hospitals to Retain Transgender Procedures for Minors

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Lose federal funding if you continue transgender procedures for minors -or- face prosecution from NY DA for ignoring NY anti-discrimination laws. It would be nice if the appeals court would finally rule on Trump’s appeal to the lower court’s (illegal) NY conviction and then disbar James.

Yet another thing Democrats are still all-in on even though it was an issue in 2024 and cut the GOP’s way. I doubt that 25% will support Democrats in their efforts to do transitions on minors.

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona February 4, 2025 / 11:18 am

Especially when it sinks in that no real “transition” has taken place. This is merely extreme cosmetic surgery to try to achieve the illusion of being the opposite sex.

      • Mark Noonan's avatar Mark Noonan February 4, 2025 / 1:19 pm

We really do have to force a return to logic here – you’re right: there is no transition. Nobody is born in the wrong body. My position on this remains as it has been: do what you want to do as an adult. If you look like a girl, I’ll treat you like a girl (I don’t do package checks). But reality is reality and we must enforce it…Musk put up a clip of some NPR lady giving a speech and in it she says that adherence to truth is getting in the way of obtaining consensus to get good things done. Think about that – her “good things” can only be done if we lie. That is the crux of the matter here – we’re either going to enforce truth or live lies.

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona February 4, 2025 / 9:00 pm

adherence to truth is getting in the way of obtaining consensus to get good things done

As you keep reminding us, if we listen they will tell us what they are. This is a blatant admission that they believe lying is not only permissible but even called for if they decide the outcome is “good”—by their definition. It’s just more of that relativistic “the end justifies the means” mentality of the Left

I have noticed that what I think is the key question, regarding “trans” people—-“Do you truly believe you really ARE a woman, or do you just wish you could be woman/WANT to be a woman?” Because the two are not the same at all.

There is never any addressing the question of how much of this “born in the wrong body” thing is based on cultural concepts and perceptions of genders and their roles and behaviors, more than on actual biology. That is, that maybe “people expect less of women, women are allowed to be weak, women can change their appearance with makeup and clothes and men can’t, envy of the ability to bear children and nurse them, preference for lives based on homemaking rather than business” etc. Because when we look at so many, if not all, “trans” women who are really men, what we see is acting out stereotypes of women, not real womanly behaviors. Those who aren’t are usually just trying to hijack benefits like being able to win trophies and titles and scholarships by competing against women—or trying to angle their way into ways where they can prey on women, like women’s prisons.

Dylan Mulvaney does not act like a woman. Period. He acts like a superficial stereotype of a silly vapid little girl playing dress-up and playing with Mom’s makeup. Now, I don’t care if a man likes to dress like a woman. I don’t even care if he tries to pass as a woman, if he isn’t too obnoxious about it. I do care if he tries to use this to control society, to impose his belief system on me, to gain unfair advantage over real women, etc. A few weeks ago a clerk at my eyewear store, a man, was wearing a skirt and makeup—but he didn’t use a woman’s name or demand to be referred to as a woman. He was just having fun experimenting with different things, and it didn’t hurt anyone. That’s fine. There is room in the world for all sorts. As the British saying goes “there’s naught as queer as folk” which just means nothing is weirder than people. Period.

Using typical Leftist doublespeak, they refer to this gender-denying process as “gender affirmation“.

Anyone not brain dead knew the US government was spending massive amounts of money on a multitude of things not even remotely having any value for the taxpayers. That a $624,824,543 grant could be awarded where both the recipient and purpose is kept confidential is staggering on many levels. Who knows how long it will take Trump’s administration along with DOGE to find them or how long it will take to 1.) Rescind all of that absurd spending, 2.) Fight in courts the impending litigation, 3.) Prosecute the criminal participants. As fast as Trump is moving, until the left is stripped of their ability to fund & fight, the necessary transformation will take us beyond the time Trump has in office.

A piece of good news that’s probably flying under most news organizations’ radar (hat-tip Jeff Childers)

Speaking of China, late last week, Missouri’s Heartlander News ran a fascinating story headlined, “Missouri asks judge to ding China for $25 billion for hoarding COVID-19 protective gear after unleashing virus.” Missouri’s excellent Attorney General might be on the verge of obtaining the first judgment in the world against China for its role in the pandemic.

    image 9.png

Last Monday, a Missouri court held a bench trial on the state’s lawsuit against China. It was a short trial. China never showed up, thereby defaulting. My guess is China weighed the pros and cons and elected not to participate in discovery.

According to the story, at the trial, the judge questioned the AG over whether the state had jurisdiction to collect on a judgment. Missouri’s Attorney General Andrew Bailey offered evidence that China owns sufficient property within the state to satisfy the judgment.

It is a very good sign when a judge asks about collections. It strongly hints that he’s already thinking past his decision to impose liability.

If Missouri’s case succeeds, it will prove a template that every other state can use. And it gives President Trump more negotiating leverage. Trump could help China by resolving its liability for all 50 states in a single deal.

President Trump and President Xi have a lot to talk about.

As I’ve told you many times before, accountability is slow. It comes in fits and starts. But it does eventually come, one way or another.

My guess is that China is going to rue the day that they purchased massive chunks of real estate in the United States.

I want someone to whisper in Trump’s ear that in 1942 we lent China $9.6 billion in 2024 dollars and that its been collecting interest for 83 years…hey, the PRC says they are the government of China. We lent the government of China money. Not our fault they had a revolution. Pay up, suckers. I figure the interest owed is about 17.3 billion.

Oh, forgot: that loan was in gold. So, we’ll want repayment in the form of 9,458,509 ounces of gold.

And lets not forge the Lend-Lease stuff that was never repaid. $27.9 billion in 2024 dollars. Plus $53.6 billion in interest. This wasn’t gold, so they just have to hand us over, in cash and today, $81.5 billion.
