Trump Triumphus

I mean, he might as well have been leading the Democrats in chains behind his chariot.

I didn’t write about it last night because I wanted some time to ponder it all. As a man old enough to remember Reagan’s greatest speeches, I have to say that Trump’s speech before Congress last night was the best I’ve ever heard. Sure, it was Trump all over the place – that is the Trump style. Sure it slowed in the middle but all Trump speeches slow in the middle. Sure, it could have been fifteen minutes shorter, but if you do that then the peroration wouldn’t work as well as it did.

It was inspiring, hilarious, moving and patriotic. The Democrats played the role assigned to them by Trump – pointing out early that nothing he would say would get them to cheer just set the stage and even when DJ was introduced, Democrats did exactly what Trump needed them to do…sit on their hands. The Democrats, in political parlance, are the “out” party but last night they became the exiled party. They have no connection to the United States…just rude, old, ugly representatives of a ignorant, corrupt and stupid Ruling Class that had its day. Trump placed a vision before us of a united, free, prosperous America reaching for the stars…and Democrats shouted out they didn’t like this…and held up their pathetic, little signs.

We’re moving on, Democrats. The past is past. The future beckons. You can still join us. But you won’t.

Meanwhile, for the sane part of the country – well, as was pointed out in the previous thread: 76% of the American people gave the speech a thumbs up. That is remarkable. We’re supposed to be far more polarized than that. But, perhaps we’re not any longer? Perhaps outside of the Leftwing fever swamps, people are wanting a united America? Sure, not everyone is going to agree with everything Trump does. You can’t even get 10 people to agree on where to get something to eat so getting 340 million people to agree on things is a tough task. But this isn’t about Trump. It is about America. We Americans want our country to work again…not be tied up in boutique Leftist issues that require all of us to bend a knee. Sure, go be a blue haired vegan who rides a bike to Save The Planet. Knock yourself out. But that is you. Your life. Not everyone…and we’re not about to go back to a place where the Left puts one chain after another on us to Save The Planet.

Lefties, we don’t need a Savior. We have one and He’s coming back one day…long before my barbecue kills all the polar bears. Chill.

Most of all it was fun watching Trump last night. Democrats tried to manufacture joy for Harris last year but Trump brings the real thing. And fun will always beat Debbie Downer. We have a lot of hard work ahead. There will be pain as we MAGA, but we’re going to have fun and we’re going to Make America Great Again.

Musk: The left complains of Trump being a threat to democracy but in reality he’s a threat to bureaucracy.

SKF (on X): The Democrats showed up to this speech intent on hanging themselves, and Trump made sure he brought plenty of rope for them.

Nowhere to hide when being ridiculed, forced to sit and sulk. The left is so predictable Trump only needed to wait for them to show their true colors and then amplify how ridiculous they are for everyone to see. Astounding that the left is adamant on digging in, holding positions on issues that is in opposition to the vast majority. There’s commentary that they’re looking for leadership but unable to find someone that meets the criteria; someone stupid enough to be the face of failure while trying to regain relevance on losing issues.

You have to question either the sanity or the intelligence of a group that chooses to be on the short side of an 80/20 issue, and then decides that that’s the hill they want to die on. Bless their little black hearts!

Schumer was out on friendly MSM today and he was gently asked about Green’s tantrum last night and he couldn’t address it…condemn Green and the lunatic base is infuriated, embrace Green and the normies are turned off.

Their only hope right now is a massive economic Depression. Absent that, they’re cooked.

That’s the inevitable conclusion of identity politics. Eventually the tribes turn on each other

Because Identity Politics are about people, and how we FEEL about them, and our reactions when we feel they have let us down or disappointed us, or the hopes and dreams we attach to them.

Reddit evidently posted an imaginary map of North America after the United States loses WW III. It was Reddit, say no more. But one comment was pretty funny,

I didn’t know which deterrent to conquest was funnier—seals in California or Florida Man.

Funny. I also liked “this part wouldn’t be that tough”

I figure we swap the Bay Area and LA for Alberta. This way the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames become US-based hockey teams and thus get a chance to win the Cup.

I mean, sure, at the start the new State would be light blue but it is by far the most Right area of Canada and Scott Pressler would bring them into line.

It’s been a while since I was in Alberta but at the time it was as red as we could ask, sneering at those “toffee-nosed hosers over in Keh-beck” and talking about seceding, along with Saskatchewan, to leave the rest of the country to starve and freeze.

My husband and I were in a little restaurant/bar in Red Deer, Alberta, the night the Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup. A guy at a nearby table had been looking at us and he finally called out “so you guys are Yanks, eh?” We started laughing and my husband said “oh, no, we’re just Canucks like you guys, eh?” “But ain’t those Colorado plates on that truck out there?” “We just borrowed that truck..” By that time we were all getting a kick out of this, and they all came over and congratulated the Coloradans and pointed out that we won with a Canadian team so they couldn’t be too ticked off, and they bought us drinks and it was fun.

We had to deliver a horse to Calgary around September 12th or so, 2011, and I will never forget passing line after line of Canadians along the highway headed toward the border, walking or riding horses or on bicycles, waving American flags and saluting us as we drove past. I still get a little teary remembering it. I loved Alberta, and driving at night listening to Canadian Railroad Trilogy over and over.

I don’t know how they put up with it – our Democrats are Rightwing fanatics compared to Canadian Liberals. The Conservatives will nearly sweep Alberta in the next election and it won’t matter because all decisions are essentially made at the national level…and at this point my bet is the Liberals get back in via a coalition after the election.

DC Police Wants $1.5 Million for Jan. 6 Footage

They claimed they couldn’t release the videos due to ongoing investigation. But now that Trump has pardoned all the J6er’s that would no longer be an impediment. The police department is funded by taxpayers, meaning the videos belong to the public. Demanding that kind of money for the release of the videos is staggering arrogance. I’m guessing these videos will reveal a trove of information that will implicate numerous people. But it’s DC we’re talking about so…

After last night’s speech, it should be clear to everyone that we can no longer co-exist with the lunatic left. As you spoke about the Hitler in the previous thread, those are the very kind of people that inhabit the left-wing of American government. They wouldn’t even stand up for the little boy who had cancer, and was awarded membership of the Secret Service, did you see when he went over to the young man to give him a high five when Trump awarded him admission into West Point military school? Really proud of President Trump for doing that. He’s such a good man. But these Democrats they’re gonna have to go someday.

The Dems were defined by what they DIDN’T applaud. I hope the American voters have long memories.

I’m hoping campaign advisors have kept all the photos to use in 2026, especially those surly faces behind those ridiculous auction paddles. I thought the pictures of Pelosi smirking as she ostentatiously tore up Trump’s State of the Union address was as good as it could get to summarize the nature and quality of the Democrat Party, but they outdid themselves this week with an absolute treasure trove of performative stupidity. (And the caveman memes were pure gold.)

As awful as the PEOPLE of the Left are, we can’t lose track of the IDEOLOGY of the Left, which is tyrannical and inhumane. It is all about denying the true nature of Man, his character and nobility and individuality, forcing him instead into a featureless collective ruled from above by elites running a Central Authority.

As Mussolini wrote, in his fawning explanation of Fascism, “….if the nineteenth century was a century of individualism it may be expected that this will be the century of collectivism and hence the century of the State….” and “Fascism accepts the individual only insofar as his interests coincide with that of the state’s”.

“For the Fascist, everything is the State, and nothing human or spiritual exists, much less has value, outside the State. In this sense Fascism is totalitarian”.

The politically illiterate claim fascism is a right-wing construct, but to do this is to deny the basic structure of the movement, which is wholly Leftist in that it is a totalitarian construct based on a massively powerful Central Authority and one in which the individual is subsumed by the collective.

So while we can, and should, reject the public persona of the Democrat Party in the United States we have to remember that this is merely the public face of a brutal and inhumane political movement which denies the humanity and spirituality of man.

“When we get ready to take the United States, we will not take it under the label of Communism; we will not take it under the label of Socialism. These labels are unpleasant to the American people, and have been speared too much. We will take the United States under labels we have made very lovable; we will take it under “Liberalism,” under “Progressivism,” under “Democracy.” But take it we will.”

~ Alexander Trachtenberg, at the National Convention of Communist Parties, Madison Square Garden, 1944

He kind of misunderestimated the tenacity, resilience, and patriotism of the majority of the American people, didn’t he?

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona March 6, 2025 / 11:31 am

Well, it’s an uncomfortably narrow majority, and of that a lot of people still feel that the words “progressive” and “liberal” are descriptions of a positive and benign Leftist ideology, and the focus on the word “democracy” by the Left shows an ongoing acceptance of Trachtenberg’s strategy.

People can be tenacious, resilient and patriotic as all get-out and still be influenced by semantic manipulation of words and definitions. And this is the real secret of the Left.

It’s not just pure propaganda, which is the production of false narratives. It is the distortion of words we think we understand, to plant the subconscious acceptance of an understanding that is not true. This is what the Left does all the time, miscasting the denial of gender as “affirming” gender, or the cancellation of reproduction as “reproductive health” when talking about abortion.

Using benign and even uplifting and positive words like “progressive” and “liberal” to describe a political model that is wholly regressive and illiberal is classic Leftist doublespeak but when people haven’t caught onto the game and seen through the smoke and mirrors it can be very effective.

And in politics, the unspoken message is that when one political system uses a word like “progressive” then, logically, its opposition is the opposite, or REgressive. It’s all mind games, planting unexamined assumptions in the subconscious, and it is deadly effective.

The only effective antidote to this insidious poisoning of the mind is education–that is, explaining the contradictions between the ways the words are used by the Left and their harsh reality. Orwell was brilliant at this, but the Left cleverly undermined his efforts by using words he pointed out as negatives and then sanitizing them so they lost their negative impact. What does “Big Brother” mean these days? Why, it’s just a silly TV show–nothing ominous about that!

Yep – and Chesterton noted in back in the 1930s when the Church of England was debating making birth control legitimate. Chesterton pointed out that the whole debate was ridiculous because of Progressive terminology…this wasn’t birth control, it was birth prevention:

I despise Birth-Control because it is a weak and wobbly and cowardly thing. It is not even a step along the muddy road they call Eugenics; it is a flat refusal to take the first and most obvious step along the road of Eugenics. Once grant that their philosophy is right, and their course of action is obvious; and they dare not take it; they dare not even declare it. If there is no authority in things which Christendom has called moral, because their origins were mystical, then they are clearly free to ignore all difference between animals and men; and treat men as we treat animals. They need not palter with the stale and timid compromise and convention called Birth-Control. Nobody applies it to the cat. The obvious course for Eugenists is to act towards babies as they act towards kittens. Let all the babies be born and then let us drown those we do not like. I cannot see any objection to it; except the moral or mystical sort of objection that we advance against Birth-Prevention. And that would be real and even reasonable Eugenics; for we could then select the best, or at least the healthiest, and sacrifice what are called the unfit. By the weak compromise of Birth-Prevention, we are very probably sacrificing the fit and only producing the unfit. The births we prevent may be the births of the best and most beautiful children; those we allow, the weakest or worst. Indeed, it is probable; for the habit discourages the early parentage of young and vigorous people; and lets them put off the experience to later years, mostly from mercenary motives. Until I see a real pioneer and progressive leader coming out with a good, bold, scientific programme for drowning babies, I will not join the movement.

Excellent point, of course, and it totally exposes the Progressives for the liars they are – they won’t tell us what they are really trying to do but disguise their goals under noble phrasing.
