Oh, Canada…FFS and LOL!

Canadian Conservatives are furious with Donald Trump. He ruined it for them, see? His talk of Governor Trudeau and a 51st State saved the Liberals! If Trump had just kept his big, fat mouth shut Poilievre and the Conservatives would have won!

Yeah, maybe. Actually, there does seem to be some exit polling to support this – especially Boomer Canadians seemed to cast their ballot based on the assumption that Carney will Resist Donald Trump. But that just makes it even more funny.

Hey, I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for Canada. America’s hat is filled with some nice people – and not just NHL draft picks! But it is also filled with some not so nice people. To be fair, their bad people are just like America’s bad people – insane Leftists who hate everything Canada stands for and want to totally destroy the country. The trouble for Canada isn’t that Trump called Trudeau a governor…it is that even the so-called Conservatives of Canada have bought the Left’s version of Canada.

It all started with the Official Languages Act of 1969 – enacted, it should be noted, by Pierre Elliott Trudeau…officially recorded as Justin’s dad but everyone has already noted Justin’s resemblance to Fidel Castro. Strong assumption that while Pierre was in Havana lauding the glories of the Communist Revolution, Mrs Trudeau was getting a detailed tour of Fidel’s bedroom. But, hey, Commies don’t care about that – giving it up for the leaders of the Revolution is a long held tradition amongst Commies and I’m sure if it did happen, Pierre felt it was an honor. OTOH, looking at Justin I can’t help but feel that Fidel is looking up from his eternal residence and is rather disappointed in his progeny…whatever else you want to say about Fidel, he was a manly man…Justin…isn’t even all that feminine a woman. But, anyways: the Official Languages Act: people think it just made French and English official languages in Canada and that was how it was sold – but the details made Canada officially Multicultural…and while the public mind probably thought it meant that French and English cultures would coexist, it really meant that any race-baiter with gripe could latch on to it and get government subsidy and veto power over policy. And that is pretty much what happened. It was the downfall of Canada – it essentially said that Canada was a mistake, that Canadians by making Canada had done wrong and that everyone who hated Canada now had an unlimited claim on Canadians.

And the elder Trudeau did this because he hated Canada. No, seriously; despised the whole thing. When WWII started he was 20 years old and felt that the war had nothing to do with him…just a useless fight between Great Powers. He later claimed regret about not volunteering to fight Nazism but that was merely post-facto drivel to retain political viability. He was Left – the Left doesn’t care about the country. Any country. He might have felt a need to support Communists against Nazis, but he’d never feel it was important to defend Canada against Germany. He entered politics just so he could dismantle the entity called Canada and replace it with something else – something Left. Keep in mind that though French Canadian, he also wanted nothing to do with Quebec nationalists…because he hated Quebec as much as he hated Canada. The last thing the Left wants is to replace one home of patriots with two homes for patriots. He wanted Quebec to remain in Canada so he could destroy both places at the same time.

And as we see in human history, what you pay for is what you get – Canada stopped paying to make patriotic Canadians and started paying for people who hated Canada. Year by year since 1969 the number of people latching on to hating Canada has grown while the number of Canadian patriots declined…to the point now that patriots are a distinct minority in their own country and even the so-called Conservative Party accepts horrors like MAID (that is Medical Assistance In Dying…a quite Orwellian acronym which stands for killing anyone who is old, or sick or is just feeling a bit sad as a means of relieving the health budget). Heck, I checked the Conservative platform and their policy on immigration is simply that they’ll import foreigners more efficiently than the Liberals. Naturally, the Conservatives ran huge numbers of either foreign-born or children of immigrants for office…all clearly showing that being Canadian wasn’t a priority for them. And of course it didn’t work – Liberal Lite vs Liberal is always going to have one outcome.

And that is what doomed the Conservatives…not Trump trolling Justin. Oh, sure, it might have given an extra excuse for Canadians to vote Liberal, but the Liberal rot of Canada is deep and wide. Reminder: the Canadians returned Trudeau to office at the height of the Covid insanity. Having your own government lock you in at home wasn’t sufficient cause to toss the Liberals out…so, Trump quiet or Trump loud wasn’t really going to make a difference.

All around the West we see this – a country officially adopting some multicultural mechanism and then year by year hating itself more and more…to the point where being a patriot is a political liability. And any reaction from the people, when it comes, is too little, too late. I’ve seen protests in Ireland and Britain about the invasions of their country but its all really rather sad. Pathetic. They are disarmed and their Ruling Class has already ensured that they’ll be outvoted every election…and, truth be told, the people who are protesting against the destruction of their own countries still want that “free” government cheese…still want socialized medicine, massive vacation time, generous unemployment benefits, paid maternity/paternity leave, “free” education…on and on and on…and both Left and Right parties give it to them and anyone who takes even the slightest exception to it all is cast out of society. When even Right Brits, Canadians and French talk about preserving their values they aren’t talking about preserving their Christian heritage, their patriotic love of country, their willingness to die for what they believe…they’re talking about preserving the Welfare State for themselves. They just don’t like foreigners getting a check and moving into their neighborhoods. I can’t see any path to recovery for them.

Heck, I only barely see one for us – we’re always a little behind developments in the West. Our Constitution makes change slow…gives us a chance to call a halt. The Democrats have been working diligently to short-circuit our Constitution and ensure we go the way of Canada but they weren’t quite able to get it done and so we got Trump II. We hope that this will put us back on a path to sanity…but nothing is guaranteed. And if the Democrats come back in before the Trump policies become entrenched, then we’ll never get another shot at it…Democrats will simply dispense with the Constitution (likely by packing the Courts and getting whatever rulings they need to impose their views) and that will be that. But we at least have a path out – for the rest of the West, not much hope. Some for Poland and Hungary…but we see that in Romania the EU managed to annul the election of the “wrong” candidate and they got Meloni in Italy to toe the migrant line…once again, “free” government cheese being the motivator here…vote the wrong way, and the welfare checks will stop.

In my opinion, the USA is going to stand alone in the world – we might be able to keep some semi-allies (Japan, India) but only for specific purposes (in their cases, defending against China) but if we restore sanity in America, we’ll mostly be a pariah State. The world will hate us because we’ll be free, sane and patriotic. A standing condemnation of them – and people don’t like to be condemned. We should start working towards a time when we’ll accept Christian and Jewish refugees from Western nations…people who are, say, getting harassed, jailed or killed because they don’t want to be Left. On the firm condition, of course, that they renounce their former allegiance! But these sorts of people will strengthen us long term. We should also start thinking of Europe in terms of any parts of it we want to control – their birth rates are collapsing and they’re being replaced…they will cease to be European but there might be some strategic points we want to seize for our own security interests (Trump isn’t actually joking about taking over Greenland and taking back the Panama Canal…strategically, we have to start thinking about what we need to be secure in the world). We’ll have to build ourselves an unbeatable fleet and restore as much domestic mining, manufacturing and farming as we can…because anything we depend on the world for will soon be at the mercy of people who hate us and want us dead.

And those who want us dead will reside in Ottawa as much as in Paris and Berlin. I hate to think in terms like that – it is such a wrench from the past. But things are as they are – the peoples of the West have made their choice. It is to die – and we are choosing to live. These are irreconcilable world views – absolutely hostile to each other. One or the other must eventually be destroyed so the other may exist. And in that, I’m going to choose my nation – my people – over everyone else.

I don’t buy the narrative that if “Trump had not said something” the Canadian election would have been different. FFS when do people take responsibility and stop blaming others for their plight?? I am sick and fucking tired of it. That’s all Democrats do in this country … whine and complain every fucking day. It’s exhausting. But Canada is not a unified country and a national divorce is possible. The western provinces have almost no say in national elections and hopefully they plan to change that

Re; American Democrats who are absolutely some of the worst people in the world. In the last 100 days they have done nothing to help improve our country and have done everything to sow chaos and violence. And this is what emotional incontinence and low intellect will do. Let’s be honest … most of the Democrat elected politicians are not adults. They don’t think like adults and they don’t act like adults, they are children. And the best example of that is their continued narrative that Trump is a fascist and democracy is at risk. NO ONE believes that, but they continue to push it … much like children do when they want the parents to believe something. I have never seen anything like it. But then when you go to the store and see someone wearing pajamas and a mask, you realize, they have a base of voters. The biggest threat to the sovereignty and prosperity of America, are these Democrats.

Did you read the referendum? Adjusting for national differences, it is very much like something U.S. conservatives would write:

Election Statutes Amendment Act with the following proposed changes:

      • Banning the use of electronic tabulators and other automated voting machines, requiring all ballots to be counted by hand to protect election integrity

. • Eliminating vouching at voting stations to strengthen identification and verification processes.

      • Requiring unofficial vote counts to be completed within 12 hours of polls closing to provide timely, reliable results

. • Voters being required to cast their ballot in their constituency of residence or by requesting a special ballot.

      • Expanding access to special ballots, allowing any voter to request one without needing to provide a reason while protecting integrity by requiring voters to personally request their special ballot (with exceptions for those needing assistance due to a disability)

. • Updating the Recall Act to make it easier for Albertans to hold elected officials accountable by lowering the signature threshold and extending the timeframe to collect signatures

. • Improving the Citizen Initiative Act process by setting the threshold for all successful petitions at 10 per cent of eligible voters who participated in the last general election.

      • Allow corporate and union contributions for provincial elections while maintaining transparency and accountability through existing financial disclosure requirements.

      • Improve access to voting for First Nations and Métis Settlements during referendums and Senate elections

. • Enhance emergency response provisions for voting disruptions during referendums and Senate elections.

I like restricting some petitions to a percentage of eligible voters who participated in the last general election as well as making it easier to recall officials.

I did see the X account for the Alberta independence folks and they do seem to have to real support…I doubt at the moment enough to make it happen, but the bottom line is that Ottawa has been draining the wealth of Alberta to pay for Quebec and Ontario welfare since the 1960’s (once again, Pierre Elliott Trudeau getting the ball rolling here). I hope they are able to do it – and whether they want to go as a Republic or apply for admission to the Union is a matter of perfect indifference to me – either way works. If I were Albertan, personally, I’d go for independence…why change Ottawa for DC, right? I’d see it as an opportunity to build a self-reliant, low tax and low regulation economic powerhouse benefiting from access to the massive American market.

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona April 30, 2025 / 10:50 am

OTOH, if Alberta were to want to join the Union, it would open the door to adding other states as well—a big push to add 10 states to the Union, including Alberta and Puerto Rico as the Left demands (because what could be more attractive than yet another welfare state?) but an additional eight states as I have suggested.

Also, Saskatchewan is closer to Alberta than to Ottawa, politically speaking, having essentially the same economy and probably a similar political environment, and Manitoba just defeated the Progressives in electing a more conservative government (though the name New Democratic Party is confusing to us in the United States).

Basically, if you look at a map of Canada you see something similar to the political alignment of the United States—the bulk of the center of the country leaning strongly toward the conservative side but controlled by the hard-core Liberals on either coast.

Here’s an idea: Let’s give Canada California, Oregon and Washington on the West Coast and our East Coast down to Maryland, in exchange for their central provinces.

        ROFL – yep; that’s a deal I would take.

But it is growing on my mind – and I allude to it in the post – that it is getting to be crunch time…where those who want to be free and those who want to be slaves are going to separate themselves out and then fight it out. As noted, we do have our servile people here in the USA as much as they do in Canada…it is just that proportionally we have fewer and our system makes it much harder for a transient insane majority to completely take over.

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona April 30, 2025 / 3:31 pm

And as I keep saying, those who support the system that will make them servile don’t realize that is what they are supporting. They are supporting DEMOCRACY !!! and THE RULE OF LAW !! and fairness and tolerance and all that is good, in their courageous defiance of the monstrous EEEVIL Other the Left has created for them.

When/if one will talk to you, he or she will be quite sure that or she does not want consolidation of power in the hands of elites, does not want an 21st Century American version of a monarchy just with a different name but still imposing rules from the top down. He or she is even likely to agree that keeping authority in the states instead of the federal government is a better idea. These people hate and reject the idea of being lied to and manipulated by a corrupt media—they just think this describes Fox, which they delight in calling “Faux” and which has been identified for them as Fake News. They want honest elections, they just don’t think our criticisms of the way elections are run now are valid.

None of them will fight FOR their system, but they will fight AGAINST the Invented Other identified for them as the real danger to the country. They will not fight for this country, or even for the one created 250 years ago, but they will fight for the illusionary country the Left has promised to create once this one is destroyed.

No one was able to convince Don Quixote that he was wrong—-it took finally seeing himself as he was, not as he believed he was, to shock him into reality.

      • Mark Noonan's avatar Mark Noonan April 30, 2025 / 3:49 pm

As Solzhenitsyn said: “no, you won’t believe it until they hiss at you, ‘you’re under arrest!'”.

But it was partially our fault, after all. We forgot what Conservatism was for:

Now if Conservative has any meaning at all, it means anti-Radical. The Radicals are the only inheritors of the revolutionary views which the Conservative party was set up to counteract; and the two can no more act together, if both are honest, than a weasel can act with a rat. Hostility to Radicalism, incessant, implacable hostility, is the essential definition of Conservatism. The fear that the Radicals may triumph is the only final cause that the Conservative party can plead for their own existence. – Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury, 1859

Essentially, the Right tried to go a route which can be best described as “Progressive-Conservatism”…which, as Chesterton was to point out, was merely Conservatives conserving Progressive errors. We really have to get to Salisbury’s position: implacable hostility to the Left. “You get nothing and you’ll like it” has to be our ultimate goal…not least in order to prevent the simple-minded out there from being suckered.

That’s a fine analysis but doesn’t address the biggest question, which is what to do about it.

If I am correct in my own analysis, that most people in the Democrat Party are Democrats because they seek virtue and are just sadly mistaken in their belief that this is dependent on association with the party, then the answer to the question has to be that we must assume the role of showing the foolishness of the delusion.

So how can this be done? Obviously, the most effective approach would be increasing the scope of our media influence. Because so many of the deluded still have faith in the alphabet networks, the most efficient approach would be taking over ABC, NBC or CBS. CNN flirted with the idea of approaching real journalism when John Malone tried to exert some influence, but he evidently either got tired or overridden because CNN never made much of a change and it quickly backslid into its fetid swamp.

It will be a slow and incremental erosion of the effects of the Left’s propaganda machine—after all, this has been the foundation of its appeal for decades and it is brilliantly multifaceted and effective. But now we have the best actual information to counter its nefarious narratives—if we can just figure out how to get our messaging coordinated and disseminated.

Without this we can fuss and fret and analyze everything forever and just be spinning our wheels.

It’s kind of funny to watch no-name Democrats in Congress scurry to get name recognition by jumping on various anto-Trump trains, and then watching those trains go off the tracks. Sometimes the “name recognition” doesn’t work that well, like the already-forgotten Dem Representative who bravely followed other media whores to El Salvador, vowing that she would remain there until Garcia is released.

Naturally, that lasted a couple of days till she tucked tail and slunk back to the U.S. What made this funny was seeing an article about her referring to her as having “abandoned” Garcia in El Salvador. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

The latest entry in the race to the bottom is Rep. Shri Thanedar’s (D-MI) who has filed seven articles of impeachment against Trump. The comments are funny, with one X writer referring to “people with Star Wars names” but the most telling thing about this guy is this: He had “owned a pharmaceutical testing lab. In 2010 he went bankrupt, locked the doors and left all the puppies and monkeys he was testing inside to die”.

Naturally, Dems in Michigan decided “This is exactly the kind of guy we want to represent us” and sent him to Congress.

They merely dance to the tribal drums.

This is the self-congratulatory “party of kindness” (I will never forget Musk’s description of his early perception of the party) and the home of much virtue signaling about love of animals. Anti-hunting, spiritual home of PETA, promotion of throwing paint on fur coats, etc. Yet it is also the party still idolizing Fauci and his beagle-torturing experiments, howling at taking away government grants that serve only to encourage grifters to come up with different ways to torture dogs, cats, rabbits and monkeys, and now even a party that will elect a man who locked up puppies and monkeys to starve.

I think that, once again, we have to look at the successful election interference of the Complicit Agenda Media. Not everyone in Michigan is an idiot, though there are certainly enough to affect the curve. But it is always a case of GIGO and with an energetic media pumping G in, you are going to get G out.

And those Canucks are quite impressed with themselves. I have seen several articles about how Canadians are selling their winter homes in Florida to protest (fill in the current outrage) by Trump. AS IF Canadians are so wonderful that losing them will make us sad. The take on this down here in Florida is that only the Lefty Canucks are sacrificing their lovely winter homes in fits of virtue signaling, with the reaction of “meh”.

I think the hype about the falling housing market in Florida is really an effort to paper over the impact that Leftist propaganda is having, as people are dumping second homes in panic over—you guessed it—tariffs. Once again, the Left is gleefully sacrificing the good of the nation to try to gain traction it its war on Trump and the Right.

Setting aside the foolishness of panicking and dumping your house on an already bad market, these people are throwing away years of equity and possibly even taking losses when holding on for a year or so will no doubt see those housing values climbing back up again. (This is an area where many if not most of the nicer houses were bought for cash by retirees.) A friend here in SW Florida decided to use the equity in his gorgeous house and invest it, so he and his wife bought a modest modular in a lovely little community and put his big house on the market just as the decline hit, and watched its value go below what I paid for my modest little bungalow in 2022 following my tried-and-true strategy of “buy high, sell low”. They just rented the modular and moved back into the big house, figuring it didn’t make sense for it to just sit there when they could enjoy it. In 2022 houses were on the market for a few days at best and you didn’t even make an offer that wasn’t over asking price, and now I drive past For Sale signs on nearly every street. It’s the real estate equivalent of bailing out of the stock market when it tanks.

As incomes have not gone down, taxes have not gone up, inflation has leveled off and in some areas decreasing, gas prices are down, etc. the only reason I can see for this move to dump real estate is panic. And we all know panic is a favorite tool of the Left. And, as usual, what is bad for the people and bad for the country is good for the Left.

As a real estate broker in AZ, I have had plenty of dealings with Canadians and almost to a person, they are not good people. I once kicked one of them out my office one day because he wanted me to help him commit tax fraud. After seeing the settlement statement and realizing the mandatory withholding on foreign investors, he wanted me to adjust the contract to reflect just a $299K purchase price (just under the $300K mark which triggers the withholding) then to write an addendum selling his furniture for an additional $150K as there is no withholding on personal items. Just a complete jerk. Many Canadians are selling in AZ too and I say good riddance. Many of them claim Trump is the reason, but the other reason is because there dollar is so weak, the second they cross that border with their money, they get a 30% increase due to exchange rates. If you run into a Canadian, remind them of this and encourage them to sell lol ….

As manufacturing grows and employs hundreds of thousands of people, and other businesses grow to support them (the people who shut down the petroleum industry in Colorado didn’t just hurt Big Oil or even those who worked in the industry, they hurt the restaurants and drugstores and filling stations and all the little-guy businesses that employed people need) there will be more people wanting new houses, or second homes.

One growing attitude in the United States is that we don’t need foreigners. We can like some of them, we can welcome some business, but we don’t NEED them and don’t need to put up with snotty attitudes of superiority.

This is a very troubling story. This womans life was destroyed by evil men and yet sexual exploitation of minors remains a YUGE industry. And in fact Biden and other Democrats aided and abetted this practice the last 4 years. Why hasn’t the Epstein list been revealed?? Because many of the abusers are men of power and wealth and they have successfully threatened the right people. I hope Kash and Biondi are strong enough to act against that threat, and when we do find out those involved … we need public executions.

The entire Global Left – from rich to poor and everyone in between, everyone who subscribes to the Global Ruling Class Narrative is just like that…of course you hire an illegal immigrant. After all, its inclusive! Just Dreamers! Only a bigot even takes note of whether or not a person is a citizen!

But, of course, to hire an illegal means to hire someone who (a) is already a known law-breaker and (b) someone who by nature you can’t do a background check on.

Doesn’t matter to the Global Left, of course; if some people have to get robbed, raped or murdered its a small price to be paid by people they don’t know or care about…and that’s if they even hear about it. Remember, the people who buy the Narrative do so because they still watch TV news…and TV news won’t let them know about things like this.

The International Left has a much easier job in other countries, because only in the United States did “capitalism” reflect the ability of anyone to work hard and earn a profit. In nearly every other country, the word was associated, usually quite rightly, with economic oppression, which made it easy for the Left to use not just the word but the concept of property/company ownership as leverage to stir up revolution against it. The success of the American model was the fact that for the first time the Little Man could start his own business and keep whatever he profited from it, with the prospect of greater and greater success. The lack of an official class system also appealed, because “class” had more to do with success than heredity. Class mobility, which was impossible in most countries, was within reach in the United States, with many examples of poor men achieving great success and distinction

This is why I focus exclusively on American politics. History is fascinating and often illustrative, but when it comes to how to run our country the historical records, once we get away from the abstract and conceptual, don’t really have much to do with our own efforts to find, or rather return to, the best blueprint for governing our country.

Trump will only lose faith in someone if they screw up and letting a wife and brother in on a sensitive, though not classified, text conference might call for a private butt-kicking but not dismissal or a request for resignation. Hegseth has done too much of what Trump has been wanting to do, and is proof that if you’re getting flack it means you are over the target.

I know, it’s only Thursday and I like to lead off the week with something funny on Mondays. But this is too funny to wait. The wit of some commenters is truly a national treasure. Just remember, while you are laughing, that the underlying story is deadly (literally deadly) serious—the problem of some states issuing Commercial Driving Licenses to people who do not speak English and letting them go out on our highways driving massive vehicles, unable to read signs or communicate with other drivers, etc. and probably with no foundation in the laws if they can’t read or write English and didn’t have to pass tests. The article says that some states don’t even put names on CDLs.

But anyway, for your entertainment, I present Just For Fun: Typo About English Requirement for Truckers Leads to HILARIOUS New Driving Tests

    • Amazona's avatar Amazona May 1, 2025 / 9:43 am

Ummm—wouldn’t commercial trucking be related to the Department of Transportation? That is, something that the head of that department might oversee? Could it be—just spitballing here, but…..could it be that Buttigieg wasn’t, you know, DOING HIS JOB?

To borrow a phrase Cluster likes to use—-asking for a friend.

( My personal input is that I predicted something like this when NAFTA passed, allowing Mexican drivers without American CDLs (which used to have stringent requirements) to drive uninspected Mexican trucks all across the United States. But even skeptical as I was and am about that particular level of lunacy, it never occurred to me that any state would issue a state CDL to someone who couldn’t speak enough English to pass a written test, or even worse, a CDL that doesn’t even identify the driver.)

  7. Amazona's avatar Amazona May 1, 2025 / 11:26 am

    I did not know this:

Under the Biden administration, millions of illegal border crossers who were never removed, never prosecuted, and never ordered to leave were counted as deportations. How? Through parole. Biden’s DHS implemented an expansive use of humanitarian parole, allowing millions of inadmissible aliens to enter the United States legally, remain in the interior, receive work permits, and await proceedings that may never occur. And yet, according to internal DHS documents and statements to the press, these parolees were counted in the administration’s enforcement statistics as “returns” or “removals.”

We talk about the Left’s dependence on redefining words and terms, but to claim that some quasi-legal mumbo-jumbo means that people allowed to remain in this country can be classified as having been “returned” or “removed” has to be a new record of chutzpah in the Semantic Manipulation word game.

Both Biden and Obama reported as “deported” people who never even crossed the border, who were turned away (back when that actually happened) or just changed their minds and decided not to enter.

Rather than change course, they changed definitions. DHS began reporting large, aggregated numbers of “deported or returned” individuals, a phrase that lumps together formal removals, voluntary returns, expulsions under now-defunct Title 42, and even individuals who accepted parole after being caught at the border. This linguistic alchemy allowed Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to claim that the administration had removed or returned more individuals than any time since 2010, when in fact it had done no such thing.

(The “parole” applies to those in the first paragraph, the millions allowed to remain in the country while being officially listed as “returned” or “removed”……)

Unlike his predecessors, Trump is not conflating legal admissions with deportations. His administration has eliminated the statistical gamesmanship that plagued the Obama and Biden years. A deportation now means what it ought to mean: someone here illegally is sent home. No parole, no release with a court date in 2032, no redistribution flights into the interior. The result is a border system that is finally aligned with common sense and the rule of law.

In other words, to understand the facts surrounding deportation we have to start with understanding how each administration defined the word. And when the word “deport” actually does comply with the actual meaning of the word:

A deportation now means what it ought to mean: someone here illegally is sent home.

That did take some guts…but not a lot: after all, it wasn’t like the MSM or the GOP in Congress was going to point this out.

As I’ve said for years: if the actual truth was told – just the factual truth about all sides – then we’d live in a different world. If the truth had been told all through the 2024 campaign, Trump probably would have done north of 75% of the vote. After all, once you really find out what the Democrats and the overall Establishment have been up to, nobody but the most fanatic would continue to support it. And this is why I say that we have to Make Lying Bad Again.

        re: Leftists lying

I know, that is a very big topic, but this is just a small example. I have wondered why the Left is fixated on the “Orange Man” theme, especially after seeing so many photos of Trump looking very normal, with a normal healthy tan, similar to the tans of my golfing friends. I knew the photos showing orange skin looked fake, but I thought it was due to some effort to use artificial tanning to appear to be more tanned, combined with bad lighting. I am not proud to admit it, but I never questioned his skin color in so many Complicit Agenda Media photos.

Then today, in some article about the Photoshopping of photos of the Pope’s funeral to change the apparent brightness of the President’s blue suit, there was a casual reference to the practice of Photoshopping photos of the President to give his skin that creepy unnatural orange color. And when the penny finally dropped, it was with a resounding clang and a loud “DUH!!”

It might seem petty, insignificant, superficial, but in fact that image created by a lying press has influenced the perceptions of a lot of people, and more to the point it illustrates the scope and success of Leftist manipulation of perceptions, which is so essential to the Left’s actual existence.

So this is my mea culpa, admitting with my own red face that even I, who have been comfortable in my ability to spot propaganda and even subtle efforts to influence perceptions, never considered the unflattering photos of Trump as actual overt fakes and not just taking advantage of bad lighting, etc.

It’s astounding how much damage and distrust the government can inflict. There are way too many people in positions of power looking for an excuse to use it. Or worse, people in positions of power using it to steal and destroy anyone perceived as a threat. There is some comfort when a wrongly accused / convicted person get exonerated. Thank goodness for those who step in to help correct these atrocities.
