Ian Roberts was being paid $305,000.00 annually as Superintendent of the Des Moines Public Schools. Here’s the problem: he’s an illegal immigrant. Who overstayed a student visa from 1999. Who has a final deportation order. He was charged with illegal weapons possession in 2020. Who’s “PhD” seems to have come from an on-line PhD mill.
Now, you and I can’t open a bank account without proving beyond a reasonable doubt that we are who we say we are. This guy started working in education in 2000 and has bounced around from one district to another around the country to finally rise to the top as a district Superintendent. And nobody ever checked. Not once. The most cursory examination of his record would have exposed him. Reminder: he was hired (apparently at the behest of one of Michelle Obama’s former White House aides) after the weapons charge. He had a felony record in the books…and he got hired.
Sure, we know why: he’s a black immigrant. That is the only criteria the school district in Iowa looked at – the only thing they cared about. You can just see in your mind the meeting: while Iowa is Red, the education system – as it is almost universally in the USA – is controlled by the Left…they were in their little offices casting about for a new Superintendent in 86% white Iowa and they saw him! Their savior! The Man who would Lead them to the Promised Land…or, more importantly, be a black face up front protecting the school district from scrutiny on such tedious things as reading comprehension…you know: “hey, buddy, you some kinda racist thinking our black immigrant Superintendent isn’t doing his job???”. He was hired without a second thought…and without an actual background check (at least, they all hope so…failure to do that is probably a misdemeanor…if they did do the background check and then tossed it aside, they’re probably all looking at felonies). As I said, we know why he was hired – but we do need to look deeper into the how of it all.
Because just how many such are there? Ultimately, both in the citizen and alien category. That is: people who had no documentation to back up their claims about themselves. People who have wormed their way into positions of grave responsibility even though they don’t have the least qualification for the job. I’m guessing this is a tip of the iceberg…remember, he worked in school districts all around the country for 25 years. As a school Superintendent – and, previously, a school Principal – he had great control over hiring and promotion…how many fraudulent people did he help into the system? And how many people in the system – citizen or not – now have a vested interest in the truth not coming out? And how many other professions are inhabited by phonies and illegals?
It might be that for all immigrants a background check will have to be done. It’ll take millions of person-hours. It’ll cost billions. But everyone who has come in over the past 30 years simply has to be reviewed…their names checked, their credentials verified. And it will have to start with a law saying that if you entered illegally or falsified any evidence, then not only will you be deported – even if now a technical citizen – but you’ll first spend 20 years doing hard time in a federal prison…so, self deport now if you’re faking it. Everyone here under the slightest of false pretenses has to go…I don’t care how long they’ve been here or what allegedly good things they’ve done…if you lied, you’re out. It must be this way. Liars must never be allowed to profit off their lies.
And then we have to start reviewing the credentials of Americans…just where did everyone’s degree come from? Just what skills can they demonstrate in line with what we’re paying them to do? We have to find out who is a fraud and get them out of any position of responsibility. Because it is twofold here: not only are these people no good, they must hire and promote their like in order to defend themselves against exposure. That is, they have to hire people even more questionable and incompetent than themselves. See how this is likely working? He was in the system for a quarter century…that’s a lot of people flying cover. Why? Because they need cover as well.
He didn’t even claim to have an actual degree from an existing program—he invented a degree and program out of whole cloth AND NO ONE CHECKED TO SEE IF IT EVEN EXISTED!
Well, he’s illegal, so we know what to do about him. But what about all those anti-Americans who are legal? Those with visas, including permanent residency visas, can have them revoked. And should have them revoked. (Our weak-kneed virtue signaling about this was first highlighted when we didn’t kick out the foreigners who did the Monkey Dance of Joy on 9/11.)
But even naturalized citizens can have their citizenship revoked. I’ve hollered a lot about the pathetic uselessness of oaths of office, arguing that they should be made mandatory and binding, acting as de facto employment contracts so officials who violate them can be fired. (I still find the arguments against this far from compelling.) But what about the oath of allegiance taken by every single person as part of the naturalization process? Why shouldn’t THAT be binding?
Why should Omar and Tlaib be allowed to continue claiming to be citizens when openly flouting their violation of “ absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen;“? What about people openly arguing against following the Constitution and/or the laws of the United States? I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same…”
Any foreigner who is here, and who advocates for the violation of any American law (including the enforcement of any American law) or resistance to American governance or any of the other anti-American rhetoric we constantly see from places like Dearborn, Michigan, who is not a natural born citizen (that is, born to at least one American citizen no matter where he was born) or who is here on any kind of visa or was naturalized should be summarily stripped of all protections of legal residence or citizenship and deported.
I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion seems to me to be an acknowledgment that it should be binding, and that the subsequent citizenship granted by the taking of this oath can be rescinded if the oath is broken.
I believe we can make it binding – Congress has the authority to pass any law necessary to enforce the provisions of the Constitution; and as the path of naturalization is under Congressional authority, so is the path to de-naturalization if a foreigner did have some mental reservation or purpose of evasion…which Omar clearly had at the time she swore. And then I wonder about the population of Dearborn…just how many people there had a mental reservation or purpose of evasion? On and on like that – it is time we got serious about it.
And it will take an Amendment, but we have to do it – some mechanism whereby even a natural born citizen can lose that status. It will have to be by due process of law, but if we can prove in court that a person no longer feels loyal to the United States, then I want that person de-naturalized and exiled. I insist that the basic requirement of being American is two things:
1. Born here to citizens.
2. Loyal to the Constitution.
This isn’t a big ask. Not a high hurdle. Nothing in there about race, religion, gender or what have you being disqualifying…because I don’t care about any of that. I only want all citizens to be one of mine and loyal to me and mine.
Omar also lied to get her visa and by extension her naturalization as that was a process started by her visa application. Tlaib actually has a Palestinian flag outside her Congressional office instead of an American flag. Some Somali official has been telling her Somali constituents that her first loyalty is to them. I think even advocating for Sharia law ought to disqualify anyone from public office.
We should be able to limit immigration to people who want to come here to be Americans. That sounds obvious, but clearly this is not the goal of many immigrants.
The oath of naturalization does a decent job of addressing this, though it seems to put a lot of emphasis on military service or similar service. I wonder what would be necessary to tweak the oath to put more emphasis on assimilation, laws, etc.
Answering myself: It appears that the naturalization oath is a product of Congressional legislation, and would therefore require further legislation to change it. (“The section of the oath of allegiance about performing work of national importance under civilian direction was added by the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 and is the last major addition to the oath of allegiance as it appears today.”)
Given the attitude of Dems in Congress I doubt that any change could be made to emphasize the requirement for allegiance to the United States and its laws. This might be taken as a demand for the same thing to apply to members of Congress, and for darned sure Dems would fight that.
ICEBlock claims that its purpose is to help illegal immigrants evade arrest by alerting them to the presence of ICE agents.
Now read that again. The app admits that its purpose is to help illegal aliens continue to violate the law.
Then why all the fussing and fretting about the implications of “the gummint” getting involved with Google platforming this app?
Now go back to the admission by the creator of ICEblock that “ its purpose is to help illegal immigrants evade arrest by alerting them to the presence of ICE agents. ” And then compare this to the actual wording in 8 U.S. Code § 1324 – Bringing in and harboring certain aliens:
This app’s owner, Joshua Aaron, is clearly marketing and selling this app for the purpose of commercial advantage or private financial gain, So why all the hand-wringing and fretting? The only quibbling I could foresee on this would be the semantics of “concealing, harboring, or shielding from detection”, but if the purpose is to prevent the illegal alien from being apprehended this would be a hard argument to make. And there is that “residing” part to deal with—-trying to prevent illegals from being removed is also encouraging or inducing an alien to RESIDE here.
Jeff Childers makes yet another great point:
You had to know this was coming:
Completely off topic, but there’s something going on the defies explanation. All three major stock indicies are at or very near all-time highes. Gold and silver are also at or near all-time highs. Precious metals usually run contrary to securities. I don’t think I can recall ever seeing all of them hit all-time highs at the same time.
I think the stock market will be weird for a while – to be sure, Big Money would love to cause a crash to harm Trump, but there is also just a huge amount of money to be made…and those stocks which represent American productivity are probably being bought…but also gold as a hedge against someone sabotaging the markets.
