It is getting a little funny, looking at the opposition: they are just shotgunning out every possible justification for opposition.
The 1953 coup!
US keeps bases in the Middle East!
Trump promised America First!
Israel is the bad guys!
Jews control Trump!
We’re running out of missiles!
Iran wasn’t a threat!
We killed a Mullah during Ramadan!
Blah, blah, blah.
The first thing for any American to consider in relation to Iran is this: what is peace?
Nobody in the opposition will answer it – nor even consider it. Because to consider it is to understand, and the opposition doesn’t want understanding…they just want it stopped. But the bottom line is that the Mullah regime is dedicated to destroying the United States. That they can’t and never will have the power to do so is neither here nor there – it is what they want and what they predicate their foreign and military policy on: destroying us. As long as this is Mullah policy, they will never cease to attack us. Sure, almost all attacks are by proxy, but that doesn’t change the reality. So, once again, what is peace? Where’s the compromise point? What is half a loaf for both sides?
There isn’t one. Unless the Mullahs surrender their dream, there can’t be peace. Trump tried to convince them to do so short of war – and with the example of Maduro as a test of both American capability and Trump’s will. The Mullahs ignored it. And probably with some justification – ever since 1979 in every confrontation it has been the USA which climbed down. Republican or Democrat, Left and Right, everyone was always on the side of an accommodation with the Mullahs. They probably expected that whatever Trump decided to do, it wouldn’t cut at the vitals of the Mullah regime. They bet wrong. And now there will be a change in Iran – we can’t say with certainty exactly what will emerge post-war…but it won’t be what came before. Some sort of compromise will be made by whomever emerges as Iranian leadership. Some modification away from “Death to America.”
Personally, I’m confident that Trump has this well in hand. For instance, in the FY 2026 budget was a big increase in missile procurement…after years of this being neglected, we suddenly did a big bump. Now we know why: Trump wanted the means in hand not just to attack, but to sustain an attack over the long term. This shows that Trump is thinking strategically (fake strategists concentrate on military moves…real strategists concentrate on logistics). Given this, I’d be shocked to find that we haven’t already assessed the situation on the ground in Iran…doubly shocked if we didn’t have special forces on the ground there by now trying to find if there are people willing to storm Iranian government offices. In the end, I expect a change in Iran…even if an alleged Mullah is in charge of the transition, it will be a Mullah who got the message and knows its time to wind up the Islamic Republic – sort of like in Venezuela where the regime is still technically in power, but the moves are already being made to allow for a successor government.
It is like waking up from a dream. Or a nightmare. That is, a world where we were a helpless, blundering giant – able to kill but never able to obtain our strategic ends. A world where a corrupt Ruling Class grew fat off of war while the world fell further into barbarism day by day. In a burst of military action, that whole thing came tumbling down. This could have been done at any time – a real, genuine aerial campaign to destroy the regime’s ability to wage war. We’ve had this ability all along. We built it in World War Two…and for all the bombs we’ve dropped since then, we’ve never done what we’re capable of (the closest was in the 1991 Gulf War…but even there we didn’t hit at the regime’s ability to control Iraq; it was still a half measure). The Mullahs never had a chance – our capability is so far beyond what they could comprehend, let alone build. China and Russia are now probably in a funk…realizing that any strategic assets they have only exist as long as we want them to…and that no matter how much they hurry up trying to match us, but the time they can stop us we’ve moved on to the next generation of capability (word is that the Israelis – and, therefor, us – had hacked into Tehran’s traffic cameras…we essentially knew where everyone was in real time…everything is tracked by camera in China…they now know they’ve merely built a system to let us know where everything is).
God bless our troops. God bless President Trump. May our victory be swift and peace restored.
My first exposure to terrorism was the 1972 Munich Olympics. I’ll never forget the hooded terrorist on the balcony … I was 11 years and was mesmerized. Well since then, Iran has been a problem. Over 50 years of shit from them so action against them is certainly warranted. That being said, I am anti war but I am a big proponent of obliteration. Destroy every possible military capability as quickly as possible while at the same time, targeting the hardliners. It was just reported that Israel just bombed a meeting of top leaders who were selecting a new Supreme Leader. That’s how it’s done, so even if hardliners still prevail, it will be decades before they can be a threat again.
This thing will be wrapped up by the end of the month.
I was eating lunch at an old Denver landmark, the Pig and Whistle, with my boyfriend when the news cam on about the attacks in Munich, and have never forgotten the impact of realizing that such brutality existed in the “modern” world. That was my introduction to the hatred of Jews and Israel that defines the Middle East. Remember, even then the “news” was curated, to feed Americans only what was deemed OK for us to know, so the atrocities of Islam were not well known.
And it was the basis of my introduction to Mossad and development of deep admiration and respect for Israel and its intelligence service, as I later learned about “Operation: Wrath of God” and the careful determined process of hunting down and killing every person associated with that massacre. I also learned that the Mossad had never given up on tracking Eichmann and bringing him to justice, though it took about 15 years, or till 1960, to find in him Argentina, kidnap him and smuggle him to Israel where he was tried and executed.
This is probably the basis for my ongoing belief in that approach to this day, as we are now the ones under attack.
(It’s also probably what attracted me to a novel series by Daniel Silva about a Mossad assassin who is also an art restorer who specializes in Renaissance works and works closely with the Vatican on its vast art collection. Silva wrote some compelling work about Mossad and the Vatican, of course with no way to know how much was based on reality though he did seem to have some interesting connections in both worlds. I read everything he wrote until he contracted terminal TDS, resulting my abandoning the last of his books I tried to read, but the first few were riveting.)
The story of Eichman being captured by the Mossad is detailed in O’Reilly’s book Killing the Nazi’s and it is a fascinating account. Long story short … they hid him in a safe house for a long time before devising a plan to sneak him onto El Al, the Israeli airline in Buenos Aires. The pilots didn’t know; no one knew, but when the manifest didn’t match the passenger count, the tower instructed the plane to stop as it was going down the tarmac. They did, which concerned the Mossad agents in the back with Eichman. Finally one of the agents went up to the pilot to ask what was going on to which he was told about the count being off …. He then had no choice. He identified himself, told the pilots what was going on and demanded they taxi and take off asap. They did, to the very loud and strong objections of the Argentinians. Great story
I have to take exception with those on the right, aka Tucker Carlson, who hate on Israel and think we are simply fighting Israel’s war. What a bunch of crap. As if Iran hasn’t ever attacked America … these people are simply Jew haters and I put them in the same category as Democrat racists. People who like to categorize other people are the worst of the worst.
That is also getting tiresome.
The bottom line is that ending the Mullah regime is the best means to the desired end – a general peace settlement in the Middle East and the complete withdrawal of all American forces from the area. In other words, war with the Mullahs is America First.
Leading from behind is a distant memory.
In addition to seriously hurting China and Russia’s supply line of cheap oil, curtailing their ability to create chaos. It’s a win win
I seem to be missing a major component of human belief systems—that is, the conviction that an entire race can be defined and therefore hated because of its racial identity. This is why hating Jews simply does not compute for me.
I get hating a culture. For example, the entire 20th-21st Century Middle Eastern culture is, to me, wholly deserving of contempt–at least that element based on Islam. As Islam is really a political philosophy with a thin veneer of religion slapped onto it to try to disguise it, I have no problem with the somewhat sweeping observation that Islam is the corrosive and toxic element in the Middle East that has poisoned minds, destroyed civilization there and generated untold damage across the world. The examples are plentiful. We don’t remember the hushed-up comments of Americans stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan, as they talked about being forced to tolerate the screams of little boys being raped by “men” in the Middle Eastern ranks, because to interfere would be “culturally insensitive”. We don’t remember the stories of severe respiratory illnesses and diseases from breathing aerosolized feces and urine, as people routinely just relieved themselves along the roads where their excrement dried and became mixed with the dust in the air. Most Americans don’t even realize that there is a cultural distaste for any contact with the left hands of others, as the left hand is used to wipe after evacuating the bowels and is therefore unclean. Cultures which enslave women and treat them as chattel, where women can not only not drive but can’t go outside the home without being completely covered and escorted by a family male. Where girls who dare to go to schools are trapped inside and burned to death as lessons to other girls who might consider becoming educated. And so on.
I find nothing—NOTHING—to respect in today’s Middle Eastern “culture”. I remember going to parties at Denver University where Arab men hustled girls, zeroing in on those less confident, as jackals pick out the weakest in the herds. As a restaurant manager I dealt with two such girls, shy and a little “backward”, who had been hustled by Arab men and then left, abandoned and pregnant, by men who had said they loved the girls but then when it was time to go home said they always knew they could never take an American girl home with them, much less marry one. They were mere toys.
But Israel? Jews? Israel as a country has never attacked any other nation except in self-defense, as it has literally been fighting for its very existence the entire time it has been a recognized nation. Israel as a nation is exemplary, in its development of a harsh environment into a flourishing and productive land. It has promoted achievement, productivity and personal responsibility. Israel is a nation with values and principles very similar to those of our founders and original tenets, or morality and families and religion and strength. And Jews? What is there to hate about Jews? Notice that this hatred is always non-specific. It’s not hatred of the religion—I’ve never heard derogatory comments about the religious beliefs of Judaism, beyond the usual sneering of the faithless who see all religions as examples of moral and intellectual inferiority. I simply do not, cannot, understand the kind of prejudice that creates a category based on ethnicity and then despises it.
But the collectivist Left does this, lumping demographics together and then following designated scripts of hatred and hostility.
One of the problems the Brits had back in the day was that some of those they sent “out East” became like those they were ruling…that is, coarse, brutal and…well…lets just say not sexually fastidious. It is why they tried to rotate them around on a regular basis.
The bottom line is that those we get along with best in the Muslim world are those who have adopted Western ideas – that is, they don’t see women as property, aren’t Islam-supremacists; don’t, in short, follow along with people like the Mullah regime. Those in the UAE seem to be the most advanced – the marker there being that you can openly be Christian in the UAE. There are still restrictions, of course – can’t expect everything to change in a minute, right? But for all intents and purposes, you are free to practice non-Muslim religion in the UAE. This is the model…and I think where Islam will go once the Mullahs are taken down.
Of those Muslims you mention, I would have to ask them the question David Horowitz asked “moderate” Muslims objecting to his campus lectures. Paraphrasing:
“Please answer honestly, just with a yes or a no. Do you agree with the statement by (forget his name—Muslim cleric) that he wished all Jews would return to Israel, so they could all be killed in one place and it would not be necessary to hunt them down around the world?”
And every single “moderate” Muslim replied “yes”. I’ve seen the videos. It is always a young woman, always very soft-spoken and articulate, always talking about accepting Muslims because not all are terrorists, and always representing CAIR. Some had to hesitate a moment, but none could come right out and admit to a willingness to see Jews continue to exist.
So it’s not enough that “they don’t see women as property, aren’t Islam-supremacists; don’t, in short, follow along with people like the Mullah regime.” As long as that lethal thread of blind homicidal hate is still there, that is all that matters to me.
It is a matter of degree – but at least I think we can work with Muslims who are of the UAE variety! Sword sharp, but sheathed, as it were.
But still a sword, though a couple of generations of being Americans might blunt it with reason.
You say ” In the end, I expect a change in Iran…even if an alleged Mullah is in charge of the transition, it will be a Mullah who got the message and knows its time to wind up the Islamic Republic” but Britannica says “The vast majority of Iranians are Muslims of the Ithnā ʿAsharī, or Twelver, Shiʿi branch, which is the official state religion” and it seems counterintuitive to think that we could find common ground with a religion based on the belief that upon the return of the 12th Mullah Islam will then rule the world, and his return cannot happen until blood runs in the streets. When a movement/cult/religion openly states that its goal is to eliminate all religions but Islam, and the belief that whoever brings this about will be the greatest prophet since Mohammed, I for one get the feeling that under some circumstances I could be part of that bloodbath.
The true believers will remain – they always do. Hans-Ulrich Rudel was walking around the ruins of Germany in 1945 on one leg still convinced that Nazi ideology was correct in all particulars – and it seems he went to his grave believing after spending the rest of his life trying to revive the Nazi dream. Some people are completely unteachable. But most of them hung up the brown shirt, got jobs and tried to forget about it. We hammer Iran hard enough and it’ll be the realists who rule the day.
“And we have a senator who’s really an amazing guy, and I’m thinking of putting him in the Supreme Court. No no, I’m thinking, because it’s very hard, getting these nominations through is very tough. He’s the only guy I know who can get 100% of the Democrat vote, 100% of the Republican vote, they wanna get him out of there, he is such a pain in the ass but he’s so good and so talented, Ted Cruz,” Trump said to applause.
If I remember correctly there were some members on this blog who made the same suggestion for Cruz some time ago. I wonder if this is a hint to either of our elder conservative Supreme Court justices?
https://pjnewsletter.com/trump-supreme-court/?utm_source=actengage&utm_medium=email
Cruz would make an excellent SC Justice
I’ve been wanting Cruz on the Court for a decade now. He would be John Robert’s biggest nightmare. Cruz and Thomas would be so impressive I think they would drag Barrett and Kavanaugh along in their slipstream, and Gorsuch has the chops, just not the experience yet. If Sotomayor’s health keeps declining she might be gone, which is also something to think about.
Don’t you wish Thom Tillis got this upset over Americans paying the highest prescription drug prices in the world? Or how about the tens of thousands of girls and women who were trafficked and sexually abused at the border between 2021-2024. MAGA still has a Republican problem
A Republican senator has issued a scorching rebuke to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem over her deadly immigration crackdown. Senator Thom Tillis branded Noem’s leadership a ‘disaster’ and demanded her resignation during a Senate Judiciary committee hearing on Tuesday. Noem remained silent throughout Tillis’ intense grilling and declined to comment after he publicly called for her resignation. Tillis became highly agitated, pointing his finger and yelling at the border chief as he ripped her for refusing to take accountability for mistakes surrounding the killings of protesters by ICE in Minneapolis in January.
GFY Senator Tillis!!!!
Crenshaw lost – Cormyn survived. Crockett lost! A bit of a mixed bag but I think its shaping up to be a GOP year.
The runoff between Cornyn and Paxton should be an interesting test of MAGA vs. entrenched Establishment.
Tillis’s version of “scathing” is about as compelling as Obama’s Mean Daddy look.
Completely off topic, but if this isn’t enough to make you want to hit someone, I don’t know what is. (compliments – Jeff Childers)
Wow. 🤯
Jeff Childers is a national treasure. A Florida lawyer who got caught up in defending people objecting to the mandatory Covid jabs, he quickly became an expert on the drug and its side effects, and from the foundation of educating people about what was going on he has become an excellent source of information on all the things we find interesting, with the advantage of a legal perspective. I recommend subscribing to Coffee and Covid.
New York—“whose state bird is a pigeon being eaten by a giant rat.”
I used to joke about having to add a wing onto the Federal Penitentiary at Leavenworth, KS, just to house crooked Democrats, but the level of fraud that’s being exposed across the country is going to require not just a whole new prison, but a whole bunch of new prisons.
It was just a couple of years ago when Lefties were talking about wanting to build “re-education camps” for conservatives. Maybe we could track them down and see if they still have the plans they were drawing up. And Sheriff Joe might need to come out of retirement.
As I was saying – I thought one in three dollars were stolen…now I’m confident it is one out of two…with no shock if I find out its two out of three.
The Establishment has been robbing us blind…we have the money to actually take care of everyone who really needs aid, but its all siphoned away by bogus welfare efforts…and just where is that money really going? Is it even going to Americans? I mean, even American thieves…or are we essentially funding foreign enemies?
Because our “foreign enemies” are often one of our own political parties, I think your question might need to be slightly reframed. If the goals of those within the country and without are essentially the same, national boundaries and identities might not matter much.
It is a bit six of one, half dozen of the other, ain’t it?
I was just thinking that the whole global system is lubricated by blood – and the purpose of the system is to extract money from the productive and hand it off to the non-productive elite. They use things like continued conflict in Israel as justification for their endless “negotiations” and so forth…but nothing is ever solved. Nothing is ever allowed to be solved. If its solved, where’s the payday in that?
RIP Lou Holtz, absolute great man and legend
Did you see what Keith Olberman said about Holtz??
Democrats hate us worse than the Iranians so let’s attack them next.
Who’s with me?
Did you see what Keith Olberman said about Holtz??
Leftists have projection down to an artform.
Or we can sit back and watch them self-destruct and eat their own. I’m kind of enjoying that. When your movement comes down to Kill All The Jews and/or Become a Felon, you’re going to provide a lot of entertainment value while diminishing your appeal to rational people who used to just think you were “the party of nice”.
It seems Kristi Noem is in hot water.

I lost respect for her judgment after the dog-shooting fiasco, a mess where she did absolutely everything wrong and ended up killing a puppy for acting like a puppy, so I was never thrilled when she got the DHS appointment. But I thought maybe in an administration job with guardrails and (I assumed/hoped) some oversight she might do OK. I haven’t been impressed with her camera-obsession and costumes, but again, it’s an agency which can handle a little glamming up. She’s been in a pool with some major heavy hitters, and to be fair has had to play to her strengths, such as they are, which increasingly seemed to be primarily cosmetic though she has tried very hard to come across as tough and serious. To steal a comment made about some other egoists, the most dangerous place to be is between Kristi and a camera.
Anyway, I have been developing a little skepticism about her as she seemed to be expanding her public persona a little more than I thought the job called for. So I am not surprised that Trump finally plugged the plug on the Kristi Show.
