The Acorn Doesn't Fall From The Obama Tree

CNN, of all places, notes that Obama is trying to mislead Americans about his connections to ACORN.

Meanwhile, problems with ACORN’s voter fraud are surfacing in Minnesota.

ABC covers Obama’s changing his “Fight The Smears” website after his ACORN connections were exposed.

Laura Ingraham talks about Obama’s ties to ACORN.

Obama's "Tax Cuts For 95%" Nonsense

The Wall Street Journal rebuts Obama’s claim he’d cut taxes for 95% of taxpayers:

One of Barack Obama’s most potent campaign claims is that he’ll cut taxes for no less than 95% of “working families.” He’s even promising to cut taxes enough that the government’s tax share of GDP will be no more than 18.2% — which is lower than it is today.

It’s a clever pitch, because it lets him pose as a middle-class tax cutter while disguising that he’s also proposing one of the largest tax increases ever on the other 5%. But how does he conjure this miracle, especially since more than a third of all Americans already pay no income taxes at all? There are several sleights of hand, but the most creative is to redefine the meaning of “tax cut.”

There’s a lot of detail, and rather than quote it all, just click here and read the analysis.

The Left's So-Called Moral High Ground

Isn’t just funny how Democrats seize on any scandal plaguing a Republican, regardless of whether it is factually based or made up, and claim to have the moral high ground in order to win elections…

Well, big “D’oh!” to that once again as Rep. Tim Mahoney, the Democrat that won Mark Foley’s seat in 2006, now has his own sex scandal making headlines:

West Palm Beach Congressman Tim Mahoney (D-FL), whose predecessor resigned in the wake of a sex scandal, agreed to a $121,000 payment to a former mistress who worked on his staff and was threatening to sue him, according to current and former members of his staff who have been briefed on the settlement, which involved Mahoney and his campaign committee.

Mahoney, who is married, also promised the woman, Patricia Allen, a $50,000 a year job for two years at the agency that handles his campaign advertising, the staffers said.

But here’s the best part.. the Democrats, lead by Rahm Emanuel, tried to cover up to save Mahoney’s reelection:

Senior Democratic leaders in the House of Representatives, including Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), the chair of the Democratic Caucus, have been working with Mahoney to keep the matter from hurting his re-election campaign, the Mahoney staffers said.

Rahm Emanuel is the same Democrat who knew about Mark Foley’s inappropriate behaviors but didn’t do anything about it until it had the most political opportunity.

Oh, how this amuses me.

Looks like Tom Rooney will be Florida’s 16th District’s next representative in Congres.

UPDATE: Are Rahm Emanuel and Tim Mahoney covering up a bribe?
