Obama: Americans are Racist (BUMPED)

The general election race-baiting has begun. Obama is charging that Republicans will use his race to “scare voters.”

“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

Perhaps Obama needs to understand that his race is obvious to anyone who sees him or a picture of him. Obama’s comments are not only ridiculous, but they’re insulting. But, I guess to Obama, the Republican Party is just full of “typical white people” like his grandmother. How can Obama make such a claim, which essentially says that he thinks the American people are racist?

I think it’s obvious from his comment that Barack Obama is trying to insulate himself from criticisms by making it appear as if any attack against him is an attack on his race. Obama should be ashamed himself. If there’s anything we learned from the Democratic Primary is that race, gender and class warfare are DNC territory. Another thing we can expect from the Obama campaign, as evidenced by this racist implication he made, is that there will be subtle hints from the Obama campaign that if you don’t vote for Obama then you’re a racist. See, Obama wants this election to be about his race. He’ll wants to guilt voters into voting for him in the same way he claims Republicans wants to scare voters into voting against him. It’ll be a repeat of Deval Patrick‘s gubernatorial campaign in Massachusetts.

Obama is going to attack, attack, attack John McCain from all angles. Yet, should the McCain campaign release an ad that either (a) shows a picture or video of Barack Obama or (b) mentions his name, the Obama campaign will accuse McCain, or whatever organization puts out any such ads, of attacking his race.

Issues will decide this election… Not Obama’s desire to play the race card at every turn. Obama’s desire to raise taxes, have tea and toast with terrorists organizations, socialize healthcare. Issues alone will guide voters to vote for John McCain over Barack Obama in November.

UPDATE: A real example of using race to scare voters.

Is The Obama "Presidential Seal" Illegal?

Don’t take my word for it

18 USC Sec. 713 …
(a) Whoever knowingly displays any printed or other likeness of the great seal of the United States, or of the seals of the President or the Vice President of the United States, or the seal of the United States Senate, or the seal of the United States House of Representatives, or the seal of the United States Congress, or any facsimile thereof, in, or in connection with, any advertisement, poster, circular, book, pamphlet, or other publication, public meeting, play, motion picture, telecast, or other production, or on any building, monument, or stationery, for the purpose of conveying, or in a manner reasonably calculated to convey, a false impression of sponsorship or approval by the Government of the United States or by any department, agency, or instrumentality thereof, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

(b) Whoever, except as authorized under regulations promulgated by the President and published in the Federal Register, knowingly manufactures, reproduces, sells, or purchases for resale, either separately or appended to any article manufactured or sold, any likeness of the seals of the President or Vice President, or any substantial part thereof, except for manufacture or sale of the article for the official use of the Government of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

HAT TIP: The Weekly Standard.

I’m not expecting much to come from this, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama gradually stops using his presumptuous seal if enough people raise questions.

In the meantime we’ll continue to make fun of Obama’s audacity.

More Democrat Corruption in WA?

This story about the governor-select of Washington state suggests something unkosher is going on.

Gov. Chris Gregoire is benefiting from more than $650,000 in campaign contributions from Indian tribes that hit the jackpot in 2005 when she killed a gambling compact potentially worth more than $140 million a year to the state.

Unlike 22 other states that collect millions from revenue sharing agreements for tribal gambling, Washington gets no money from tribal casinos under the compact that Gregoire renegotiated with the Spokane Tribe.

Gregoire backed away from the 2005 agreement that included revenue sharing in an attempt to keep gambling from expanding too quickly and after listening to concerns from a wide range of groups, including other tribes, said her spokesman, Pearse Edwards.

But gambling experts say the state’s arrangement, which gives the governor power to approve or reject gambling agreements with the tribes and allows those same tribes to contribute to political campaigns, is ethically problematic but not illegal.

“It’s a payoff,” said University of Nevada-Las Vegas professor William Thompson, who has been studying tribal gambling since 1988. “She shouldn’t take any campaign money, nor should her political party, and it smells too quid pro quo for my liking.”

Even Gregoire’s fellow Democrats in the Legislature question the deal.

“Why would you give someone a monopoly without taking a cut?” asked Sen. Ken Jacobsen, D-Seattle.

Read the whole story… I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about his soon.

UPDATE: State lawmakers call for bi-partisan inquiry.

No Surprise

The McCain campaign held a conference call earlier today with Rudy Giuliani and senior foreign policy adviser Randy Scheunemann to respond to Senator Obama’s remarks on terrorism.

In response to the conference, plagiarist Joe Biden made the following comment.

“It’s no surprise that it takes a man with zero national security and foreign policy experience to defend the policies of John McCain and President Bush.”

That’s really funny, because it’s really no surprise that it takes a man with zero national security and foreign policy experience to be the Democratic Party’s nominee for president.
