Let’s help Bob Latta keep Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District in GOP hands…

Impeached Judge Hastings Resigns from House Intelligence Committee
This morning it was reported that Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL), an impeached federal judge (and convicted by the Senate), resigned from the House Intelligence Committee.
One has to wonder why someone who was impeached, convicted and stripped of his position as a result of federal bribery charges was ever put on the sensitive committee in the first place, considering that those on the committee are given access to our country’s most secret intelligence information.
Romney Nixes Company That Employs Illegals
The Boston Globe has been creepily staking out Mitt Romney’s residence in Belmont, MA. The Globe, a liberal paper (which reliably endorsed Romney’s opponents during his two runs for public office in Massachusetts) is clearly on a mission to derail his candidacy for president. That mission to destroy Romney probably only takes second place to the Massachusetts Democratic Party.
Anyway, The Boston Globe discovered that a company hired to do work at Romney’s home had illegal immigrants working for them. After this report, Romney fired the company.
What interesting about this story is the fact that the Boston Globe admits staking out and surveilling Romney’s home for the past two months for this story. One would think that Democrats and Republicans alike would be outraged at this violation of privacy, especially since similar surveillance of terrorists would cause so much outrage by Democrats.
At least Romney did the right thing, when the company failed to rectify the problem, he got rid of them. Can the same be said for other politicians, particularly Democrats, who employ illegal immigrants for cheap labor on their properties? One example being Nancy Pelosi, who has illegals working on her and her husbands vineyards? Does the media stake out the properties of Democrats, who are not only breaking the law, but are clearly in a conflict of interest when they vote on immigration laws?
No, Republicans clearly are held to a higher standard. Democrats don’t seem to be held to any standard at all.
And Romney clearly passed the test. He took action. In a statement he had this to say about the matter:
“Today, I fired a landscaping company that I learned was employing people who are not permitted to work here in the United States. After this same issue arose last year, I gave the company a second chance with very specific conditions. They were instructed to make sure people working for the company were of legal status. We personally met with the company in order to inform them about the importance of this matter. The owner of the company guaranteed us, in very certain terms, that the company would be in total compliance with the law going forward.
That’s a much different attitude than, for instance, Democrats who campaign on rhetoric such as “the rich must pay their fair share of taxes,” while they keep much of their fortunes in off-shore tax shelters. No, Romney has taken the route of practicing what he preaches… which is more than I can say about other candidates.
The Do-Nothing Democratic Majority
Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) posts a hilarious video on his blog demonstrating the Democrats’ complete incompetence as the majority party.
The Joke Is On Him
If Al Franken is still has to convince Minnesotans that his Senate run is in fact a serious one, then his campaign should do as well as that liberal talk radio experiment he started… Air America, for those of you who can’t remember.
Democrats Resort to False and Misleading Ad in Ohio Special Election
There’s a special election in Ohio’s 5th Congressional District next Tuesday, December 11. Republican candidate, Bob Latta is running to fill the seat formerly held by the late Paul Gillmor.
This is solid GOP seat, but the Democrats are now putting a lot of money into the race, hoping to edge out a victory. The DCCC is running an attack ad, so misleading that several Ohio stations have pulled the ad.

Big Democrat Donor Hsu Indicted
This is bigger than the Abramoff scandal of 2006,
Norman Hsu, a purported clothing magnate who became a top Democratic donor, was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of running a fraudulent investment scheme and using some of the proceeds to make political contributions.
The 15-count indictment formalized a case brought by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. The government alleges that Mr. Hsu conducted “a massive scheme that defrauded investors across the United States” of tens of millions of dollars. He also was charged with violating federal campaign-finance laws by making contributions to various political candidates in the names of others.
Suitably Flip has done a fantastic job chronicling this big scandal, which plagues many Democrats who have received Hsu-connected cash.
Blogging For Florida’s 16th Congressional District
I am pleased to announce that Blogs For Victory will be hosting the official blog for the campaign of Gayle Harrell, Republican congressional candidate in Florida’s 16th congressional district.
We are very excited to host the official blog for Harrell’s campaign. This is a seat the Republican Party can win back next year, and Harrell’s campaign clearly understands the importance of reaching out the internet grassroots.
Harrell hopes to unseat Democrat Tim Mahoney, who barely won Mark Foley’s seat last year campaigning on an anti-corruption platform, and then to voted in favor of putting indicted congressman William Jefferson on the Homeland Security Committee.
Be sure to check out out Harrell’s official campaign site and her blog. You can also join her campaign’s official Facebook group, and add her as a friend on MySpace.
Going Negative… Again. Big Shock.
I love how Barack Obama is claiming the moral high ground on the issue of negative ads and attacks by launching what can essentially be called an attack website against Hillary Clinton.
Seriously. Every campaign season we get candidates claiming they don’t like negative campaigning, making self-righteous pledge not to go negative, then suddenly everyone is shocked–shocked that they are getting criticized for something, and thus launches everyone into negative attack mode… as if we expected differently.
Let’s stop kidding ourselves. Everyone says they’re against negative ads, but saying you’re against negative ads is really just talk because eventually something happens that “forces” that candidate to go negative… but in self defense. In the end, everyone does it because, like it or not, negative ads are quite effective… even thought candidates claim they aren’t when they oppose negative ads.
The worst is how Democrats pretend like it’s the Republican Party that is the party of negative ads and attacks. This is the same Party that can’t speak a sentence without blaming something on President Bush, and they act as if no one in the Democratic Party has ever had anything to do with a negative ad before.
Aide To Senator Cantwell Busted In Child Sex Sting
This apparently happened a few days ago. Not media coverage is there?
Had this been an aide to a Republican Senator, do you think the media would have been so quiet about it?
