The story of the family attacked on the 4th of July by a gang of young toughs – a white family attacked by a swarm of black youngsters shouting racial epithets? You don’t want to ignore it, but you don’t want to give an open sesame to racists to make hay over – its a terrible symptom of our societal breakdown and a clear result of racial grievance-mongering for decades.
The best I can do right now is to issue a blanket condemnation of all those in our society who propagate lies – such as, for instance, the lie that racism still keeps a black person down. Racism there is, but no racist can stop a black person from achieving whatever he wishes…but race-baiters like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton keep hate alive, and then young fools soak it up and, God help us, some times act out on the idiotic lies. Young black men instructed to take pride in the achievements of black Americans would be unlikely to do what this group does – but young black men instructed that being educated is “acting white” or that they still can’t get ahead because Whitey is keeping them down will do precisely what this group did.
Keep this in mind – tell the truth, all the time and every where. About things great and small. Do your utmost to allow not the slightest untruth pass your lips or, worse, settle in your heart. We live in an Age of Lies and we are seeing the ever more terrible results they bring. Its time to bring a halt to this.

I make no excuses for the assault except to say that it may have been provoked. We have only heard one side of the story so far leaving an infinite ability to analyze.

The whole “hate crimes” thing should be scrapped. As this piece clearly shows, the only way “hate crimes” can be applicable is to have the Thought Police go through a convoluted analysis of the inner thoughts, the beliefs, the MOTIVES of the criminals. And s we see here, when an effort is made to apply the concept of Hate Crimes equally and fairly, across racial lines, the outrage is palpable.
Thanks to fox and econ, the underlying rationale for”Hate Crimes” is explained—it is find ways to punish evil WHITE people for anything that might be done, might ever have been done, to anyone who can claim minority status.
econ has always been ready and willing to define all conservatives as racists, al la the bloch rants of old which lectured us that when white people ar poor, it’s because they WANT to be, while black people have to be poor because of he oppression and hatred of all whites. Or at least all conservative whites.
The sheer insanity of the RRL knee-jerk reactions to any effort to treat all races equally is an excellent illustration of the shallowness of the movement and its “mining the vein” of simmering rage and hatred that permeate its followers. econ’s baseless rants on the assumed racism of people he doesn’t like is typical.
The men who did the attacking stated, over and over again, that the attack was racially motivated. If one is truly dedicated to the concept of declaring one crime more heinous than another because of what was going on the mind of the criminal the time, then this HAS to be considered a Hate Crime. As much as the two-faced Left likes to try to have everything both ways, in this case they are hoisted on their own petard.

No, they do not. Because according to the Lefty Creed, once a black person becomes a conservative, or votes Republican, that person ceases to BE black. As an ousted former poster once declaimed, blacks such as Condoleeza Rice and Thomas Sowell are not “really” black because they have abandoned their principles, blah blah blah blah blah. Evidently to the most rabid of the rabid radicals, “blackness” is not really a color or an ethnicity but a state of mind, one easily cast aside merely by voting the ‘wrong’ way.
Take the term “Oreo” to describe black conservatives—”black on the outside, white in the middle”. Conservative values of small government, personal responsibility, equal opportunity instead of equal outcome, adherence to the Constitution of the United States, a belief in a truly color-BLIND society, all are apparently defined as “white” values—and by extension, the opposite must be “black” values.
The determination to divide (and conquer) this nation using race has resulted in the insanity we see here—trying to justify the brutal attack on a white family (do NOT forget the children!) and the other insane claims made by the pretzels of the RRL who need so desperately to have every single term defined in a way that they can use to back up their pathologies.
But thank you, casper, for pointing out that there might be an excuse for black youths beating a FAMILY while ” shouting racial epithets” might be excused by something not in the story—how suspicious that these lovely young men might have been DRIVEN to such brutal behavior. What smells here is the stink of moral relativism.

“It may have been provoked”—a favorite platitude of the RRL to try to excuse the inexcusable. After all, econ could not be held responsible for his coarseness and vulgarity and sexism when he attacked me with a favorite crude gyno-phobic, etc., phrase, a la Perez Hilton—I evidently “provoked” him.
And just who is claiming that conservatives like Social Security, Medicaid, etc? Do you people READ what people say here? You not only live in your own sick little universe of hatred and ignorance, you insist on bragging about it.
NO, conservatives do NOT love these socialist programs. Duh. We do admit the difficulty, if not impossibility, of unringing the bell—so many people are hooked on these programs, dependent on them, that any significant change would be pretty much impossible. But they represent the entry of America on the slippery slope intended to slide us down the incline into socialism and we HATE them.
Carol made an excellent point about the condescension inherent in Liberal attitudes toward black people—that they somehow are just lacking in what it would take to compete on a level playing field with others, so they have to be given special treatment and the pretense that they are equal. And when conservatives say that all races ARE equal, and that after all are given equal opportunities all can achieve the same goals, THEY are called racist by the same ones who are claiming that some races have to have things given to them because they simply will never get them on their own.
There is a lot of criticism for this blog, saying it has become nothing more than a forum for radical Leftist trolls to spout their views, but I have argued that there is nothing that will damn radical Liberalism to the ash heap where it belongs faster than getting its followers to openly argue their positions. Or what passes for positions, as they are really just rationales for emotional disfunctions.
If we were to assert that the rabid radical arm of the PROgressive movement was this ignorant, this racist, this sexist, this rage-driven, this irrational, no one would believe us. But by providing a place where they can strip off their masks and show us their true selves, they do more than we ever could to illustrate the moral and intellectual poverty of the Leftist movement.
And you are propagating a lie. You should stop it.
Advice to stop propagating lies from you, Mark? My, that is rich, given your own problems with honesty, and especially considering that I’m not propagating any lies (unless you’re trying to claim that the GOP gets a big chunk of the Black vote, which not even you are out-there enough to claim–hell, even crazy-ass amazona won’t argue that).
Maybe you’re unclear on what a “lie” is, then?
Sounds to me like you are saying that they are inferior….because they are black.

I excused nothing. If the story is real, I hope they catch the people responsible and hold them responsible.
And let’s not forget about Colin Powell who was given the title of “House Ni**er” by blacks and liberals since Powell worked in the Bush admin. Even the MSM used that title. Now Powell is the darling of all those blacks and liberals who hated him and the MSM b/c he supported Obama.

If you can prove that other faiths were denied access, you MIGHT have a point. As it is, if this is the only examply of O’Reilly lying that you can offer up, I have to say it is very weak, and laughably obtuse.
How do you write about this? You write about it in the context of the predominantly minority swim group that was denied access to the private swimming pool.

Well, it has become morally relative to our society. It’s what liberals do best, to them there is no right and wrong, because man is God to them, and thus we have a humanist, polytheistic society.

Reverend Al Sharpton is expected to be in Akron next week to work with the family in assuring them that this crime is investigated to its fullest. It is an example of what the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Act would do. When local law enforcement is not willing to investigate a situation like this as a hate crime the federal government would mandate that an investigation begin and oversee such to assure that it is being conducted properly.
