Told you guys this would happen:
…On Friday, when most of the basic facts (of Ft. Hood) were available, Mr Obama tried again. It was scarcely any better. He began by offering “an update on the tragedy that took place” – as if it was an earthquake and not a terrorist attack from an enemy within – and ended with a promise for more “updates in the coming days and weeks”.
Completely missing was the eloquence that Mr Obama employs when talking about himself. Absent too was any sense that the President empathised with the families and comrades of those murdered.
…Mr Obama needs to show Americans that he can relate to what they’re going through, and take responsibility.
It could do him good to show he has a bit of fire in his belly. Perhaps he might make a decision or two based on gut instinct and deep conviction. In other words, maybe he should try being a bit more like Mr Bush.
Our ship of State has been adrift on the crucial things (unemployment, War on Terror) and excruciatingly concentrated on relative trivialities (health care)…and about all things, President Obama dithers and passes the buck and allows others to lead the way. We don’t have a proper Commander in Chief – we’ve got a Orator in Chief; a plastic icon incapable of connecting with actual events.
Gonna be a long three years…

Actually, I would say Obama is more like a campaigner in chief, he is still in campaign mode. I do not believe he has ever stopped campaigning, as if he does not realize he got the job, and now needs to do it!
You can say what you want about the kind of president Bush was, or McCain would have been. One thing that is true, both did and would have been leaders, not campaigners.
He began by offering “an update on the tragedy that took place”
We don’t need updates from this jerk–we get plenty of those from the news. Maybe the Narcissist in Chief can get a job on a news network when he leaves office. I know of one idiot he can replace–Geraldo Rivera…
Aw come on Keef, Geraldo is great for comic relief. Kind of replacing Alan Combs.
“It could do him good to show he has a bit of fire in his belly. Perhaps he might make a decision or two based on gut instinct and deep conviction. In other words, maybe he should try being a bit more like Mr Bush.”
You’ve got to be kidding me. Gut instinct based on born again Christian convictions should have NO place in the decision making process. Bush would have immediately jumped to conclusions and painted a black & white picture, talked about holy war, creating an us vs. them scenario, and indirectly made life very difficult for the thousands of honorable Muslims serving in the US military who are equally appalled by this tragic event. Yes, Bush would have satisfied the religious right here and now, by invoking the lords name and quickly bombed someone but none of this would in fact do anything but push you further down the wrong road.
It was Bush’s ‘shooting from the hip’ mentality that made you/us take our eye off the ball and invade Iraq, an action who’s disastrous consequences cannot be emphasized enough but sadly cannot be understood by the far right. A president should not react instinctively unless time does not allow for an in-depth analysis of the situation. Every action has a reaction.
According to the people who know him (including many republicans), your current president is intelligent, analytical and thoughtful, hence the reason why the far right didn’t vote for him. Your hatred for the so called “elite” (black kid on food stamps) has become your own worst enemy because it has made it impossible for you to vote for someone smarter than yourselves. This is how you will end up with candidate Palin in 2012. Good luck to you.
Rasmus,
You’re a fool.
Wow, what a comeback Mark! I’m impressed.
“According to the people who know him (including many republicans), your current president is intelligent, analytical and thoughtful, hence the reason why the far right didn’t vote for him. Intelligent?
Let’s see, the man can’t say a complete sentence without the teleprompter, thinks that our prosperity is linked to government spending, thought the country had 60 states, can’t distinguish the difference between the Medal of Honor and the Medal of Freedom and has not taken a leadership position on ANYTHING. etc etc.
Analytical?
He has had a request for troops since August and has been briefed on the situation in Afghanistan many times and still has not made a decision.
Thoughtful?
Refer to the first paragraph and also refer to the many leaders he has snubbed with his arrogance.
The reason the far right did not vote for him is for his admission he followed Marxism and for his socialist views. As far as the “black kid on food stamps” reference, it does not apply to him. As I am sure you know, Obamateur was a world traveler in his youth and attended many private institutions. This talking point is mind-numbingly stupid.
For you to believe the tripe that you posted, you are indeed foolish as Mark accurately asserted. Obamateur performance as President has been a dismal failure with no future of changing.
According to Gallup, Obama has a 54% (vs. 41%) approval rating in the US, so it seems like a majority of your own countrymen are not seeing this as a socialist conspiracy to turn the US into North Korea like all you nuts do…
Besides, I’m having a very hard time taking anyone serious who, despite disagreeing with him, would argue that Obama doesn’t have the mental capacity to lead your country, but that Sarah Palin does! The far right will find the dumbest person available with a national profile to run with in 2012. You will do this because the real leaders of your manipulative party have become crazies like Beck and Rush.
you will do it because every talent you might have in your party always turns out not to be religious enough, patriotic enough or anti abortion enough, and as a result gets sacrificed on the altar of purity. You truly are becoming a dumb party.

Rasmus,
You’re a fool.
——————————
Mark, perhaps you should read again, with an open mind this time, what Rasmus posted.
For someone running for political office your response was petty and very disappointing.
It would be to your benefit if, instead of offering a neocon/keef/cluster type of non-answer, you actually addressed the valid points Rasmus brought forth.
CO,
He didn’t bring up a single, valid point – thus, “fool”…which was a substitution for the initially typed, “idiot”.
I grow weary, at times, dealing with the asinine…and Rasmus’ post is the definition of asininity.
I grow weary, at times, dealing with the asinine…Mark

If you do succeed in your political aspirations, Mark, you will have to deal with asininity on a daily basis.
If the innocuous remarks of Rasmus make you weary, you haven’t seen anything yet.
Mark
more FOREIGN numbskull idiots spewing their commie BS.
it is growing weary indeed.
How do you know? There has been no central voice of enlisted Muslims in the US Military decrying these events, promising to work more closely with the US to end the violence aimed at infidels. And for that matter, there has been no apologies on behalf of the greater Muslim world for this tragic event. This is just more weakness on behalf of people like Rasmus, apologizing for the Muslim world, when in fact the Muslim world is not that apologetic.
Cluster,
Are you telling me that the “greater Muslim world” should apologize because an American Muslim soldier goes loco? Who should apologize if a white male kills a bunch of people, or a black sniper decides to take out as many as possible?
Don’t turn this into ‘us against them’. It will only create a greater divide and not actually solve the problem. That said, the US military obviously needs to look into this and determine if there is more of this in the pipeline or if it was just one guy snapping.
Don’t you think there has been a little bit more history of Islamic jihadism than this one isolated event? And the great Muslim world has yet to really vocalize a disapproval to events such as Khobar Towers, USS Cole, London, Madrid, Jakarta, Beslan, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. Yet people like you are quick to defend them. Why don’t we see if they step up to the plate. As of yet……nothing
really ras?

Yeah, health care’s real “trivial”. I don’t really care about my health. Who are these people who do?
Also, great idea to make decisions based on gut instinct as opposed to logic. We saw how far that got us in the last eight years, so why not continue?
Mark: I grow weary, at times, dealing with the asinine…and Rasmus’ post is the definition of asininity.
Is “asininity” a word?
Okay, I looked it up. It is. Question withdrawn.
“Also, great idea to make decisions based on gut instinct as opposed to logic. We saw how far that got us in the last eight years, so why not continue?”
Well, the Obamateur is certainly not making decisions based on logic, nor is he a student of logic. If he had, we would not have been exposed to the Spendulus bill, the omnibus spending bill, cap-and-trade bill and even the disasterous health-care bills being tossed around in DC. Afghanistan would not be a priority issue had he used logic and the advice of IN THEATRE commanders.
frooty, according to your posts you are a stranger to logic. Nope, just a mind-numbed, useful idiot lemming moocher who just regurgitates dumbed-down talking points.
It really must suck to be you.
Tired of libs: McCain lost. Obama won. Nuff said.
