Just to give you an idea of the dynamic that those two states represents, they control 38 Electoral College votes or 7% of the total of 538. Had George Bush won both Michigan and Pennsylvania in 2004, it would have changed the final result from Bush 286 – Kerry 251 to Bush 324 – Kerry 213.
If McCain wins either one or both of those 2 states, it becomes almost a physical impossibility for his Dem opponent (regardless of which one it is) to win the election.
The Blog post had nothing to do with Mark’s post topic. My post here was on topic.
Sew you are off topic.
What does my blog post have to do with red white or blue states???
Absolutely Nothing. its just an attack. Especially since only 19 percent of the citizens support george. This blog post of mine is not a divider or even about blue or red or white states. Its just an attack on me and very off topic.

“Its just an attack on me and very off topic.”
Since I made NO statements in #3, how could that possibly be an attack on you?
But it does demonstrate the absolute insanity of your post.
And RED BLUE is simply a way to state whether a state voted Democrat or Republican. For the mentally challenged, another way to say Democrat or Republican. This is not a “division about red and blue states”. But certainly your hatred in your post about W is divisive. Out to lunch permanently Serpentine.

right Mark – lets keep up the same policies that caused the dollar to go so weak in the first place. Consistent idiotic conservative reasoning – click your heels together and repeat three times ” supply side economics does work, supply side economics does work, supply side economics does work”
here is what nobel prize winners had to say about Bush’s tax cuts:
Passing these tax cuts will worsen the long-term budget outlook, adding to the nation’s projected chronic deficits. This fiscal deterioration will reduce the capacity of the government to finance Social Security and Medicare benefits as well as investments in schools, health, infrastructure, and basic research. Moreover, the proposed tax cuts will generate further inequalities in after-tax income”
guess what they were and are exactly right

“This blog post of mine is not a divider or even about blue or red or white states. Its just an attack on me and very off topic.”
So, you are saying that YOUR blog post “is just an attack on yourself”, even though it clearly is a deranged rant on W? Why would you attack yourself, with your post, on your ‘blog’? Take your meds.
W is a red stater, you are a blue state idiot, and your rant is divisive, not the concept of red or blue states.
I was born and raised in Michigan and I can tell you the state has radically changed over the years. When I graduated from high school, George Romney was the goernor and the state was pretty conservative. But over time, as automotive jobs decreased people moved out of the state. These were typically moderates or conservatives. Meanwhile, the state’s major city, Detroit, has a population boom from two sources. Detroit now contains the largest muslim population of any US city. And the Black population has exploded. Since the small towns and rural areas are where conservatives live, their numbers are few. Detroit controls the voting outcomes with their gigantic population so swinging from blue to red will be impossible. Also, the governor now is an extremely liberal ex-Canadian Jennifer Granholm. Bottom line, don’t count on Michigan. Famous bumper sticker seen on Michigan highways, “Last one out of Michigan, turn out the lights”

SEW,
don’t be a clown. First of all, this isn’t about MS’s blog, it is about this blog and the assertion of turning a “blue” state “red”. That is significantly different than having a post against a Bush policy.
Your argument is complete bull.
If you can’t speak out against a politician’s policy, that is not division. That is speaking your mind.
When you speak to making a state “Red” instead of “Bule”, then all you care about is your team winning regardless of the policies of that “team”.
You were bending over backwards to try and discredit someone for no reason. You looked like a fool doing it.

From Wikipedia. Nothing about divisive!
Red States and Blue States refer to those states of the United States of America whose residents predominantly vote for the Republican Party or Democratic Party presidential candidates, respectively. The term began to emerge in mainstream political discussion following the 2000 presidential election. However, the term gained ubiquitous status after the 2004 presidential elections. (See Origins of current color scheme) Since then, usage of the term has been expanded to differentiate between states being perceived as liberal and those perceived as conservative. A blue state may therefore be any state leaning towards the Democratic ticket while a red state may be any state leaning towards the Republican ticket.
This unofficial system used in the United States of America is in stark contrast to the color system used in the vast majority of other nations. In most other parts of the world, blue represents right wing and conservative parties, while red represents left wing and socialist/socially liberal parties.
Joe, it’s kinda like you calling me a racist, as you did, for using the name Barick Hussein Obama, the same name he was born given at birth. There is no racism there, and there is nothing divisive about Red and Blue. On the other hand, what Serpentine has to say about W is certainly divisive.
In fact as stated, I actually made zero statements or arguments in post #3. Your interpretation is a complete bull argument, when in fact there are no statements by me whatsoever. And Serp called it an attack on him! And it was not a post about Bush policy, it was an absolute deranged rant.
You are a fool.
JoeMarch 13, 2008 / 1:38 pm
Um… I never called you a racist. I said you were trying to fear-monger, but never called you a racist. I did say you were doing that to invoke thoughts of Sadaam Hussein in the least intelligent people that live in fear of all things Muslim. But never called you a racist.
I understand what red state blue state means.
Post #3 brought in a post from another blog in an attempt to say the blogger was being divisive. All it was doing was pointing out a disagreement with a policy.
If you can’t see the difference, then I can’t help you.
