Our prayers for the Obama family and for our departed sister.
God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.
Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
We pray in hope for the Obama family,
relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.
In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.
Amen.
UPDATE: I just want to state my sadness at this – to die on this day, before the result is known. Regardless of the outcome, for Obama it won’t be what it might have been. Mere human to mere human, Obama has my complete sympathy. I can imagine what it would be like for me should my father die the day before some major event of my life…
