Remember how the deformed frogs were proof of mankind’s devastation of the environment? Well, not quite:

Scientists think they have resolved one of the most controversial environmental issues of the past decade: the curious case of the missing frogs’ legs.

Around the world, frogs are found with missing or misshaped limbs, a striking deformity that many researchers believe is caused by chemical pollution.

However, tests on frogs and toads have revealed a more natural, benign cause.

The deformed frogs are actually victims of the predatory habits of dragonfly nymphs, which eat the legs of tadpoles.

There has never, not even once, been a case of an environmentalist alarm proven correct over time. Its all just a bunch of lies which, unfortunately, has that kernel of truth that polluting is a bad thing – extrapolating from that, environmentalists have cooked up one blatant lie after another…and now we’re set to enshrine the biggest of the environmentalist Big Lies into law via Obama’s “soak the poor” energy tax…a device designed for no other purpose than to get average Americans out of their cars, turning off their air conditioners and becoming the helpless, little proles the Powerful wish us to be.

Well, we’re on to them – the Tea Party movement shows that the people are awakening from their slumber…for the moment, they have the power, but only for the moment.

The tough economy and tight labor market have tarnished the luster of a bachelor’s degree for young college graduates seeking employment.

New monthly survey data from the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University in Boston finds that during the first four months of 2009, less than half of the nation’s 4 million college graduates age 25 and under were working in jobs that required a college degree. That’s down from 54 percent for same period last year.

”I’ve never seen it this low and we’ve been analyzing this stuff for over 20 years,” said center director Andrew Sum.

Advice to college kids: move in to hard sciences – that MBA or degree in Feminist Theory just isn’t going to cut a lot of ice…you just will have to learn to do something useful in the making, mining or growing industries.

The government checks keeping Candy Czernicki afloat are fast running out. The reason? U.S. states obligated to pay benefits to the swelling ranks of jobless Americans are piling debt onto strained budgets.

Fifteen states have depleted their unemployment insurance funds so far, forcing them to borrow from the U.S. Treasury.

A record 30 of the country’s 50 states are expected to have to borrow up to $17 billion by next year, said Rick McHugh of the National Employment Law Project, a nonpartisan advocacy group.

“We are setting the stage for big pressures for states to restrict eligibility and benefit levels,” McHugh said. “Those type of restrictive actions undercut the (Depression-era program’s) economic and social stability purposes.”

This is the time you liberals want to impose a “soak the poor” energy tax (disguised as a “cure” for the hoax of anthropogenic global warming, no less) and a massive, new spending initiative to socialize our health care system…we can’t do it. We don’t have the money. Blame whomever you like – no matter where you lay the blame, the fact remains that we are bankrupt, as a nation. Only a massive reduction of spending to cover only the most important tasks of national security, aid to the poor and other such programs can be sustained at the moment. Everything else has to go – including your desire for a global warming fantasy and health care a la Sweden.

Either that, or you can just keep on (and I know you will) and we’ll have 15%+ unemployment by middle of next year, and then November will come.

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Thursday called the U.S. president inexperienced, compared him unfavorably to President George W. Bush and suggested he apologize for “interfering in Iran’s affairs.”

“Do you think that this kind of behavior is going to solve any of your problems? It will only make people think you are someone like Bush,” the semiofficial Fars news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.

“You are at the beginning of your way and you are gaining experience, and we do not wish the scandals of the Bush era to be repeated during your term of office,” the Iranian leader said.

President Obama, who has been in office for five months, has been treading a careful line on Iran, which has seen two weeks of street demonstrations following a disputed presidential election there.

To be entirely fair to President Obama, we have to treat this CNN story with care – after all, we learned post-liberation in Iraq that CNN trimmed its reporting about Saddam in a pro-Saddam manner in order to retain access…there can be no doubt that something similar to this is happening in Iran, today. Thus, this might be part of some careful script of the Iranian government to provoke a certain response in the United States.

But, that aside, the lesson to be learned here is that the United States is the whipping-boy of all regimes in the world that are bent on evil. It is the nature of things – as the beacon of liberty in the world (and, liberals, that beacon never has been, is not and never will be such liberal utopia’s as Germany, Canada and Sweden – it is and always will be the United States of America…unless you get your way) thugs of all types around the world perceive us as the primary enemy. This is because of what we are, not because of what we do…be President Bush calling Iran part of the “Axis of Evil”, or be Obama kowtowing to Islamist thugs by carefully referring to Iran as the “Islamic Republic of Iran”, its all the same…because there is even the remotest chance that America will come down on the side of domestic freedom-fighters, the thugs see us and act towards us as an enemy.

In the end, the US might as well come down hard on the side of freedom fighters – even at some considerable risk – because we might as well be damned by thugs for doing what they fear most, when we’re going to be damned by them no matter what. By doing the right thing – all the time – we will always place ourselves in a stronger position. Additionally, the more we clearly come down on the side of liberty the more encouraged will be all freedom-fighters, and thus the pressure for liberty will continually increase around the world.

The New York City health department is moving forward with a plan that would require about 12,000 cigarette retailers to post large anti-smoking signs.

It’s billed as the first such regulation in the United States.

The eye-level signs would have information about the harmful effects of smoking, possibly with an image.

The assistant commissioner for tobacco control, Sarah B. Perl, says it can be effective to display gruesome health effects such as amputations and throat cancer.

The city’s Board of Health is now seeking public comment. At the earliest, it would vote in September.

Trouble is, if you actually gave rational comment (ie, “what the F are you lunatic morons doing?!?”), you’d be ignored…so, only stupid comments from people who think this is a good idea will be allowed, and thus on a wave of popular support (so called), this will become the way of life in New York City…

Since 1997, New York City has turned a blind eye toward anti-nudity and anti-lewdness laws that govern life in the Big Apple as well as the state during the Folsom Street East festival (FSE). This year’s even took place on Sunday, June 21, which, ironically is also Father’s Day.

Described on its website as “NYC’s premiere sado/masochist-leather-fetish themed street festival,” the event attracts approximately 10,000 visitors annually. They claim that this is the largest outdoor event of its kind east of the Mississippi.

The FSE press release stated that “the street will once again be lined with some 50 community groups and vendors that appeal to the LGBT and the kink communities and it will be filled with mobs of leatherclad musclehunks. A one-stop shop for leather gear, porn, and toys. And no throw pillow, magic mops, or tube socks – promise!”

The organization Americans for Truth about Homosexuality (AFTAH) obtained footage of this year’s event, which included scenes of an “electro-torture” demonstration where a half-naked man was strapped to a cross while electric current shocks were sent through his body.

As long as homosexuality is identified with this sort of thing, so long will homosexuality be considered outside the pale by the majority. It is tolerated, but not loved – and that is why gay marriage is running up against an immovable object in the votes of the public. People wanting to live their lives as they see fit – fine; people wanting to have their freak show considered as valid as normal human activities – not so fine. The key to any sort of victory for so-called “gay rights” is for homosexuals to show they are part of us – this sort of thing shows that homosexuals are not at all part of us and, indeed, are directly in opposition to us.

The Bay State senator was telling a group of business and civic leaders in town at his invitation about the “bizarre’’ tale of how South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford had “disappeared for four days’’ and claimed to be hiking along the Appalachian Trail, but no one was really certain of his whereabouts.

“Too bad,’’ Kerry said, “if a governor had to go missing it couldn’t have been the governor of Alaska. You know, Sarah Palin.’’

There’s just so much big hair and your wife’s Republican money can do for you Senator, and you’re waaaay the heck past your spoil date. Just go – move to France…heck, no, that is too mean to the French…move to Cambodia and set up house where you went on that secret mission for Nixon before he became President. Main thing – just get lost.

The number of pages in the Obama “Screw the People” climate change bill – which not one single person on God’s green earth has actually read…and Donks want to rush it trough. Just like the Spendulus, and we know how well that worked out, huh?

Makes you wonder just why the EPA is suppressing a recent climate change report – could it be that the word is finally getting out that anthropogenic global warming is a complete hoax, and thus the lefties better shove it through right away?
