Payback for the SEALs

From the New York Times:

An American airstrike has killed the Taliban fighters believed responsible for shooting down a Chinook helicopter and killing 38 people aboard, including 30 American military personnel, the senior American commander in Afghanistan said Wednesday…

Well done.

Now is it time to let the muzzies wallow in thier own filth. I do belive this event would allow us the liesure of leaving in a position of strength. I see no reason why our boys and girls should be dieing for an official “Islamic Republic”.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Bring home our soldiers now so they can bask in their victory.

Would love to see you put on a uniform and go to a combat zone. Never happen though. Mock those that serve you, yes.
Can’t wait for the reply on how our soldiers do not serve you.

      • bozo August 10, 2011 / 11:51 pm

WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! I have never and will never “mock” our brightest and best. I, in fact, consistently slam you right-wing hypocrites who talk nice, then cut funding to those who have given their bodies and minds and lives in the defense of my great nation.

Our military is one of our finest socialized institutions. And our soldiers deserve their own ticker tape welcome home.

        green,

what is it with your obsession about people serving??

real men don’t go and join the army…nope, they educate themselves and help make the country better. invent new things, create jobs, and improve lives.

the only thing the military has done in afghanistan the past 10 years is die. that’s it. we haven’t gained a thing, and once we leave, it will go back to the taliban so fast, i’d be like we were never there.

“Bring home our soldiers now so they can bask in their victory.” Sounds pretty mocking to me bozo. Please tell me what you meant by “bask in thier victory”.

I assume Bozo means come home and receive the same type of warm reception that WW2 soldiers got when they returned from Europe or Japan as opposed to the hateful reception of those returning from Vietnam.

The problem is that without any sacrifices on the part of the people in the US the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are often treated like a costly football event with death and destruction. Our ‘TEAM’ is a group of professionals who try to defeat the other TEAM i.e. the bad guys. When the TEAM arrives at the airport they get a round of applause. That’s better than the mockery of Vietnam but on par with the reception pro athletes get when returning to the airport after a championship title.

Politicians of both stripes have used the phrase ‘best and brightest’ for soldiers so many times it seems empty or false when used by Bozo. My question: By what means could Bozo convince you that he really sees our soldiers as the best and the brightest or that they deserve the same treatment as the WW2 soldiers?

I think the problem is that we as a nation don’t really believe in the rhetoric, otherwise we wouldn’t think we can run 2.5 wars and keep other areas of spending untouched.

When I returned home my unit had a reception. Awards were given out and our company commander gave a welcome home speech. Afterwards there was a bar b que and a lot of alchohic beverages. NO politicians were invited. We did not mind. That to me was a proper welcome home.

we can go back to the isolation routine…bring all of our forces home…build up the reserve services…downsize active duty forces…and R&D like a *&$&#^& until we have enough advanced weapons that nobody on earth will touch us…

    oh…that isolation thing…includes locking down on immigration…
