Do you really want to know what the Palestinians are like? Do you want to understand what sort of leadership there is? What sort of public attitudes are encouraged? Well, here ya go – from Palestinian Media Watch:
The Palestinian Authority chose the mother of 4 terrorist murderers, one of whom killed seven Israeli civilians and attempted to killed twelve others, as the person to launch their statehood campaign with the UN. In a widely publicized event, the PA had Latifa Abu Hmeid lead the procession to the UN offices in Ramallah and to hand over a letter for the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.
The official PA daily reported that she launched the UN campaign last week, and noted that she is the “mother of seven prisoners and of the Shahid (Martyr) Abd Al-Mun’im Abu Hmeid.” However, the paper did not mention that 4 of her imprisoned sons are murderers…
These are the people the Israelis are supposed to make peace with? This is an indication of a sincere desire to live in peace with Israel?
The reality is that the Palestinian leadership believes they will win it all, eventually. From being an exiled terrorist group chased around the world by Mossad they have been allowed to become permanently domiciled in parts of the West Bank and in Gaza…who, 30 years ago, would ever have imagined this? And, so, in their mind’s eye, where will they be 30 years from now? So, naturally, they choose the mother of murderers to present their petition for UN recognition…using murder and mayhem has got them this far and there is every indication that more murder and mayhem will get them farther.
It is time to force these people to be reasonable…give them a week to declare, in Arabic in letters delivered to every single Palestinian, that they recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish State, that they renounce the “right of return” and that Jerusalem is the undivided capitol of Israel…and if they don’t do it, announce that for each week they don’t, 1% of currently occupied West Bank land will forever be denied them. And if they do go 100 weeks refusing, then start taking 1% of the land they current own, week by week, until they agree. And if 200 weeks go by and they still don’t agree, then start kicking them out of the West Bank and Gaza and transferring them to Sinai and Jordan.
I know, harsh – but how are we to reach those who choose the mother of murderers as their symbol? Someone name for me anything the Palestinians have said or done which indicates a sincere desire for peace. We have to force it out of them by letting them know they are beaten and that their future, as a people in the West Bank and Gaza, can only come about via cooperation with the Israelis. Or we can just drift along and let them, murder by murder, slowly take over the whole of Israel.
THERE WILL be *NO JEWS* in the new pali state…..
Neo, the palis have already backed off that statement. At least for the foriegn press. Internally who knows? The have a history of saying one thing for the outside press and a different thing for pali consumption.
They really are a beautiful people with such a rich culture.
At least they are honest about how they choose to be represented. They come right out and say “We are a barbarous people with no respect for life or law and we demand to be recognized as such.”
we will veto the planned request of the Palestinians in the UN security council, and the world will go on.
the only difference is….this time we are on an island with Israel, and the world is against us.

And that will result in what?

For those who wish to have Israel relinquish Judea and Samaria (“West Bank”) so that the Arabs can form a SECOND Arab “Palestinian” Nation (the first being Jordan), take a close look at the map (below right). Notice the 2,200 foot high Judean Mountains running North to South 60 miles along the entire length of the West Bank. A Palestinian sniper (of which there are many!) or a rocket launcher would have a bird’s eye view of Israel’s most densely-populated areas. Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport would also be just a few short miles from the edge of a West Bank Palestinian nation! Israel’s capital city of Jerusalem would be nearly encased within Palestinian territory and jeopardizing its ability to survive an attack. In effect, Israel would be reduced to a defenseless nation 9 to 25 miles wide at areas separating Israel Proper from that enemies on her eastern flank! Also, if the Gaza Strip and the West Bank were joined to form a continuous “Palestinian” land mass, Israel would be cut in half! (below left)
Leonard,
maybe you think it’s ok for us to be isolated on issues of international importance, but I don’t.
The problem with Israel is that they are making it very hard for us to defend them in the court of public opinion.
This veto, though it will happen, is going to give our enemies a little more propaganda to spread against us.
It will also alienate countries like Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, and Turkey which we have had good relations with or rely on help in the WOT.
The other problem is that even the European nations are in favor of palestinian statehood just like they were for Israeli statehood 70 years ago.
In the end, Israel is making itself an isolated nation with fewer and fewer friends in the world.
I sure would hate for the “court of public opinion” not too like us anymore. That would just be awful.
you don’t get the implications.
that same court of public opinion was what brought on 9/11.
Maybe you’ve never heard of the CIA term blowback. look it up.
There is a reason the world hates us, and it aint because we are free and have junk food.
Thomas,
There are two reasons for hatred of the United States:
1. Greed.
2. Envy.
On one hand are those who are greedy to displace us in power and wealth…these are tyrannical regimes such as China an Iran, or wanna-be tyrants like those who run Hamas and Hezbollah.
On the other hand are those who look at something higher and nobler than themselves and come to hate it…rather than striving to rise higher, they seek, instead, to pull down what is higher.
If we are alienating the world by doing the right thing in Israel, then it is the world which much change, not us.
You’re right thomas. It’s time that America takes a step back and stop with the imperialist aggression isn’t it? It’s time now that another nation lead this world, right? Which nation do you think ought to step and take the lead?
First, “the world” doesn’t hate us.
Second, all “the world” knows, or thinks it knows, about us is what it has been told by Hollywood, through movies and TV. So “the world” knows we are licentious, greedy, evil, corrupt and power mad. They “know” the U.S. is accurately represented by the TV show Dallas, by movies of violence and adultery and cruelty and indifference to our fellow man. They think we all shack up instead of getting married and run around half naked, because they think Susan Sarandon and the covers of People Magazine represent Americans.
Hey, if all I knew of the United States was what I learned from movies, TV and the Liberal media, I wouldn’t be all that impressed with it either.
Let someone from “the world” come here and experience the United States firsthand, as I have done in sponsoring foreign interns, and they are amazed to find that Americans are just like them. When one intern joined the Midwest family of an employee for Thanksgiving, he said he just had no idea “Americans do that kind of thing”. What kind of thing? Oh, get the whole family together for meals and holidays, that kind of thing. When I drove one intern through the neighborhood of Columbine High School, he was astounded to find that it looks very much like where he lives in England, and that no, the killers were not motivated by grinding poverty or the oppression of the right wing. They were just nuts.
We not only can’t control what “the world” thinks of us, we can’t let it control us, either. As for the “court of public opinion” leading to 9/11, all I can say to that that will not be deleted is BULL !. What led to 9/11 was a demented version of an inherently violent religion which is intricately intertwined with politics, hell-bent on world domination, and seething with irrational hatred for all who are not exactly the kind of Muslims they are. We were not them and therefore we had to be destroyed. “Court of world opinion” my donkey!
Amazona,
Polls have shown that most international populations have a favorable opinion of the US population and a negative view of the US government and, more directly, its actions.
Regarding 9/11, the terrorists have stated pretty plainly that their beef is with US intervention in the Muslim world, particularly in Palestine.

So NK, Sudan, Ethiopia, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc, etc, should be viewed as our equals? Interesting.
This is real life David, this isn’t some college thesis, and in real life, there is right and wrong, and there are leaders. Come join us in the real world when you get the chance.
