Ditzy Debbie – The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Debbie Wasserman Shultz might be the best thing that Republicans have going for them right now.  The more that this brainless twit flaps her gums, the more inane her comments seem to become. Hopefully her baseless hysteric ignorance will be a turnoff to the voters of this nation.

In some ways I feel for her … she does have a rather difficult job: defending the obAMATEUR and his failed policies. You need to know that many, if not most, Democrats don’t much like Obama either; but he’s theirs and they have to live with the ugly person they brought to the dance. But on the other hand, you get the feeling that this woman truly believes the things that she is saying. If so, she is one of the most ignorant people in public service in this country. But .. that goes hand-in-hand with being a Democrat. Remember that being called a “democrat” used to be an insult. It meant one who panders to the mindless whims of the masses. Ditzy Debbie is most assuredly a democrat. I guess that’s OK, though, if you believe that to be your road to power.

Just when you thought she had hit some sort of ignoranus peak, she comes out with this unbelievably partisan quote:

“We need to make sure that we tone things down, particularly in light of the Tucson tragedy from a year ago, where my very good friend, Gabby Giffords — who is doing really well, by the way, — [was shot]. The discourse in America, the discourse in Congress in particular . . . has really changed, I’ll tell you. I hesitate to place blame, but I have noticed it take a very precipitous turn towards edginess and lack of civility with the growth of the Tea Party movement.”

Yes!  Those Tea Partiers are out of control with their riot like actions, squatting on public land, crapping on police cars, etc. etc. OH WAIT!  Those are the actions of her and her party’s beloved Occupy Anywhere for Anything lunatics. You know the Occupy groups that her pResident and her party had orgasms over and try to paint them as a mainstream movement.  Their uncivil behavior was beyond contempt but her regurgitation of dumbed down talking points against the Tea Party fits to the pandering to the ignorant masses, the drones.  Occutards left their occupied sites full of trash .. and sometimes dead bodies. Tea Partiers always cleaned up. And I’m still waiting to see the a picture of a Tea Partier taking a crap on a police car. Edginess? Lack of Civility? That’s the occupiers, not the Tea Partiers.

That wasn’t all she had to say. She goes on to say, “when [the tea party] disagree with you on an issue, you’re not just wrong, you’re a liar.” Now I don’t use the word “liar” lightly. Someone is lying only if they know what they are saying is untrue at the time they say it. I’ve highlighted, the many occasions, her inaccurate statements about Barack Obama’s economy. Does she know that she is full of donkeysqueeze at the time she is spouting off or is she just ignorant?

As if that previous quote from Ditzy Debbie wasn’t enough, now she has something to say about our tax code. You’ll appreciate this.

There is nothing wrong with doing well. It’s a goal we all inspire to. And we want everybody in America to do well. But we shouldn’t have our tax policy exclusively focused on helping people already doing well do better. In America we should target our tax policy towards people who want to be lifted up.”

First of all, half of Americans don’t even pay income taxes! For those who do, but find themselves at the bottom of the scale, it is not the job of the tax code to “lift people up.” Not to mention the fact that the earned income tax credit has become one of the federal government’s largest programs for lower-income taxpayers. Consider the following:

  • The EITC has grown in cost from $4.4 billion in 1990, to $26.1 billion in 2000, and to an estimated $44.9 billion in 2011.

  • The CTC was enacted in 1997, and then its cost rose from $0.8 billion in 2000 to an estimated $22.9 billion in 2011.

If anything, Debbie Wasserman Shultz should be outrage by the $4.2 billion in refundable tax credits given to illegal aliens just last year alone! Meanwhile, those who are doing well are carrying more of the burden than ever. The figure fluctuates between 37 and 40% — that is the percentage of income taxes paid by the top 1% of taxpayers. Meanwhile, they are earning around 20% of the income.

There is no doubt that our tax code is riddled with loopholes; clearly you know my opinion of our tax code. But to claim that our tax code “exclusively” helps those who are doing better and needs to target people to “lift them up” is such a misguided view of things. This is a prime example of how politicians view our tax code as another means of legislation and a way to buy votes. Is it any wonder why they will fight so vigorously to defend it when challenged with ideas like the FairTax or the 999 Plan?

While we are at it, here other moments, brought to you by Debbie Wasserman Shultz.

Wasserman Shultz is one of the new “stars” in the Democratic Party, following in the footsteps of Kennedy,Schumer, Durbin, Pelosi and the list goes on. She’s one of the reasons why the Democratic Party is shrinking, why less individuals describe themselves as liberal and why more individuals describe themselves as conservative than moderate and liberal.

It’s amusing that you think “Debbie Wasserman Shultz might be the best thing that Republicans have going for them right now.” Speaks volumes for the quality of Republican politicians themselves, doesn’t it?

Ya know, Watson, there’s an old saying: “when your adversary is engaged in self-immolation, the best course of action is to hide the fire extinguishers and get the hell out of the way.” I think that’s what Tired was referring to.

Is that like the circular firing squad that Neocondolences keeps talking about?

The Newt came out today and said he was too anti-capitalist when he complained about wall street firing people for the greater good! Even Newt has to toe the corporate line. Too bad for Huntsman, he still hasn’t got the memo. After SC Huntsman will drop out as penance for his sins.

Wow watty, you, like Ditzy, regurgitate the dumbed down talking points just like I pointed out in the thread.

You follow the same theme “the Republican candidates are really unremarkable.”

If Debbie Shultz is the best thing Republicans have going for them right now they truly are in a pitiable state. You’re scraping the bottom of the barrel for subject matter in an amazingly rich environment of news and topical events. The blog lede has gone to hell since Mark left.

Again, the drones prove me correct and make my point. The poor content and the constant regurgitation of dumbed down talking points (like Ditzy Debbie) in your responses denny are always constant in this blog no matter who is the author of the thread.

“You need to know that many, if not most, Democrats don’t much like Obama either”…tiredoflibbs. That sounds very much like what we are hearing from Conservatives about their pi** poor selection of Presidential candidates. I also hope the DNC continues to parade DWS out in public. She is not only mindless, but awfully hard to look at too, so not much of an asset there but really what do the democrats have? They have no young talent on their bench like the GOP does. The GOP has Ryan, Rubio, Rand Paul, Allen West, Nikki Haley, and even Santorum, Christie, and Bachmann are all quite young as well. Who do the democrats have?? No one. Talk about the party of old white guys, the democrats always parade out Reid, Durbin, Schumer, Kerry, and Biden to defend their positions, and when Obama is gone, who picks up the slack? Hillary???

Finally!! People have become outraged at the inhumane actions of Islamic extremists – the beheadings, the stonings, and the oppression …………..

Prior to the call, Karzai described the video as “completely inhumane and condemnable in the strongest possible terms.” His administration called on the U.S. military to “apply the most severe punishment to anyone found guilty in this crime.”

Oh wait, nevermind. Once again it’s the actions of our military that are deemed deplorable, and once again, like the politically correct children we are, we cower when faced with criticism. Mountain, Boy Green whimpers: “If Mitt thought it was proper for the government to get into your personal life as a state governor I don’t see why anyone would think he would not carry that over to federal government.”

Well, the only reasons to make this statement are a belief that Romney is lying when he constantly refers to the 10th Amendment distinction between what is allowed to the federal government and what is OK for states to legislate, or complete ignorance of what the 10th Amendment says and means.

      Or both.

“The Tenth Amendment was intended to confirm the understanding of the people at the time the Constitution was adopted, that powers not granted to the United States were reserved to the States or to the people. It added nothing to the instrument as originally ratified.” – United States v. Sprague, 282 U.S. 716, 733 (1931).

The founding fathers had good reason to pen the Tenth Amendment.

The issue of power – and especially the great potential for a power struggle between the federal and the state governments – was extremely important to the America’s founders. They deeply distrusted government power, and their goal was to prevent the growth of the type of government that the British has exercised over the colonies.

Adoption of the Constitution of 1787 was opposed by a number of well-known patriots including Patrick Henry, Samuel Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and others. They passionately argued that the Constitution would eventually lead to a strong, centralized state power which would destroy the individual liberty of the People. Many in this movement were given the poorly-named tag “Anti-Federalists.”

The Tenth Amendment was added to the Constitution of 1787 largely because of the intellectual influence and personal persistence of the Anti-Federalists and their allies.

It’s quite clear that the Tenth Amendment was written to emphasize the limited nature of the powers delegated to the federal government. In delegating just specific powers to the federal government, the states and the people, with some small exceptions, were free to continue exercising their sovereign powers.

Nothing in the Constitution forbids states to vote to tax to create revenue to pay for health care for its citizens. Mitt Romney was elected governor of a state which voted to do this very thing. He swore an oath to uphold the laws of the state. He also understands the difference between state and federal government, and what is and is not allowed to each. Clearly Boy, Mountain Green does not.

This reminds me of the later-proved-to-be-fraudulent “study” that allegedly “proved” that even THINKING of eating meat was linked to antisocial behaviors.

“The study by three university professors to show that meat eaters are “selfish bastards” is based on fraud.

The professors suggested, based on a study, that meat eaters are more selfish than vegetarians and that they are less social to compensate their insecurity and loneliness.

The psychologists of the Radboud University Nijmegen and Tilburg University concluded from various studies on the psychological significance of meat.

They stated that thinking of meat makes people less socially (sic) and in many respects more “loutish”. It also appears that people are more likely to choose meat when they feel insecure, perhaps because it is a feeling of superiority or status displays, the researchers suggest.”

mitch seems quite gullible and eager to swallow any “research” that supports his bigotries.

The title of the author’s upcoming book, The Republican Brain: The Science of Why They Deny Science and Reality is the tipoff to his agenda and belief system.

This is just another example of people having some belief about something and then working backward to create a supposed “science” to support it.

I notice that mitch doesn’t seem interested in the many proofs of denial of reality shown by Libs as they pursue an always-failed economic, social and political model in the starry-eyed conviction that it will turn out to be the opposite of what it always has been.

GMB if you look at voter turnout in primaries for the GOP so far, they are low and disappointing.

The dems at this point have more money, and better organization. They also have a better ground game.

Believe me, Carter was not remotely close to Obama in terms of foreign policy and domestic policy. You forget what the inflation and interest rates were under Carter?

This President can lose about 7 states and still win the election. Not to mention, states like Arizona which are in play due to the hispanic vote.

The election is in november. A lot can change. bams has given the repubs tons of ammo to use against him. As far as as the voter turnout in the primaries so far, both Iowa and New Hampshire were higher than they were in 2008 but I will check.

Obama has a foriegn policy? Thats a good one. Maybe you should ask the employees of Hawker-Beechcraft why a Brazilian company got the contract for a light attack aircraft and they didn’t. Not enough campaign cash to bams maybe?

And that many are traditional in their religious views and upset about the sex-for-fun, kill-the-babies attitude of the increasingly Liberal Dems, particularly the kill-the-living-babies vote of Obama, as well as about the dilution of the concept of marriage so it includes pretty much anyone in any kind of relationship.

Amazona, our electoral process, being significantly shorter in duration, less convolouted and better run, doesn’t seem to have the problem with voter fraud to the extent that you supposedly have in the U.S.
        ——————————————————————–

‘A recent paper from Columbia University political science professor Dr. Lorraine Minnite serves to debunk the myth—one echoed on this side of the border by the Harper Conservatives in their C-31 sales pitch—that voters in the U.S., under the instruction of shadowy operatives, regularly organize in attempt to manipulate the system.

From her findings, Minnite writes, “The claim that voter fraud threatens the integrity of American elections is itself a fraud. It is being used to persuade the public that deceitful and criminal voters are manipulating the electoral system. No available evidence suggests that voters are intentionally corrupting the electoral process, let alone in numbers that dilute and cancel out ‘the lawful votes of the vast majority of Americans.’”

In April, 2007, the New York Times reported that a Republican-dominated panel responsible for conducting election research played fast and loose with their researchers’ findings to inflate the perception about the prevalence of voter fraud in American elections.

Minnite continues in her paper, “The exaggerated fear of voter fraud has a long history of scuttling efforts to make voting easier and more inclusive, especially for marginalized groups in American society. With renewed partisan vigor, fantasies of fraud are being spun again to undo some of the progress America has made lowering barriers to the vote.” ‘

CO, I think Bin Laden was “eliminated” in such an “efficient and low-keyed manner” because it was necessary to downplay the fact that the entire operation had been stalled and put off by the administration until the military and the Secretary of State decided it had to be done, and done immediately, and they needed to keep Obama’s dithering and obstructionism under the radar.

They planned it, they executed it, and they invited him off the golf course for a photo op to make it look like he was part of it, while he slunk down in a corner, pouting, and Valerie Jarrett fumed at being ignored.

As for Gaddafi, I think his demise can be attributed to Obama only under the category of “even a blind pig finds an acorn—sometimes”. It is a nice effort to claim that when Gaddafi was taken and killed Barry’s position was “That’s exactly what we planned” but in fact he dithered, again, till others stepped in and took action.

How many Americans even know who Debbie Wasserman Shultz is? Very few unless they closely follow politics. What a waste of time and space to write about her impact on anything at this time.
Meanwhile, there is a very active campaign going on between Mitt, Newt, Rick and Rick (and Ron) – but not much is addressed about that race here. Why not? The winner represents YOUR party. Has it just become too bizarre to talk about? It has been one of the more interesting races the Republicans have ever had – and yet one would hardly know it is even in progress from reading this blog.
How do you feel about corporate welfare, such as the Solandra mess? Of course, we are against it. But why are you not critical of your pResident, rather than defending him day after day? This was part of his FAILED policies to do everything in his power to keep from expanding on proven and efficient energy production – oil and gas. When the technology progresses enough for solar then it will happen. Government spending will not be the reason for success or failure for this. This shows that this man has no clue as to what he is doing just pandering to the ignorant masses – a Democrat.

This is by far the best post you have posted. But then you start in on the “corporate welfare” talking point. In this case, the government handing out cash (much like a venture capitalist) is truly welfare. Can we expect more from you against government spending to “Stimulate” the economy when it has been a proven failure versus unleashing the true capitalist nature of this country with the government getting out of the way (not completely mind you)?

As a Friedman fiscal conservative I don’t approve of any public-private enterprise that involves public funds to promote winners and losers in business. I approve of governments easing restrictions or regulatory encumbrances as an inducement, but not taxpayer money.

Sarah Palin alluded to this (Bain Capital receiving government “handouts”) on Hannity a few nights ago, I looked into it and believe it was a use of taxpayer money that I disapprove of; far less egregious than the Solendra-style of cash payout, or the Automakers sweetheart deal, or even the TARP taxpayer gift to mitigate risks in a risk driven investment scheme.

If any Keynesian methodology is applied to the Free Market, it is self-defeating, having said that a tax break is the least offensive Keynesian arrangement. I cringe but the reality is that it is an acceptable and legal method for localities to entice businesses and expand tax bases with very little risk to the taxpayers.

It was taken at the Bng airport and I have saved the local newspaper with the published picture for all of these years. At the time, I got a kick out of him being unshackled enough to express himself.

        a MUST read

        Coil of Rage ….

When you’ve read to the end, come back and read this first paragraph again.

A Coil of Rage. The character of any man is defined by how he treats his mother as the years pass …. need I say more about this person below other than there is no character, no integrity but there is a ton of attitude and arrogance that defines his shallow past and hollow future ….. I rest my case..

I bought and read Obama’s book, Audacity of Hope. It was difficult to read considering his attitude toward us and everything American. Let me add a phrase he used to describe his attitude toward whites. He harbors a “COIL OF RAGE”. His words not mine.

THIS IS OUR PRESIDENT — HE’S RUNNING AGAIN, YOU KNOW! Is anyone out there awake?
Everyone of voting age should read these two books by him: Don’t buy them, just get them from the library.

        From Dreams From My Father:
“I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.”

From Dreams From My Father :
“I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race.”

        From Dreams From My Father:
“There was something about her that made me wary, a little too sure of herself, maybe and white.”

        From Dreams From My Father:
“It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.”

        From Dreams From My Father:
“I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa , that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself: the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.”

And FINALLY ………….. and most scary:

From Audacity of Hope: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

If you have never forwarded an e-mail, now is the time to do so!!! We have someone with this mentality running our GREAT nation! Keep your eye on him and don’t blink.

I don’t care whether you are a Democrat, a Republican, a Conservative or a liberal, beware of the attitude and character of this sitting President.

Spread the word, his own words!

Wow – you’re misquoting and taking out of context here neocon, but why am I surprised by that? You seem semi-literate at the best of times so your claim that you actually bought and read a book is suspect.

Your quote “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” is simply not found in the book.

The full and correct quote is:

In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.

He’s talking about standing by American citizens. But it’s far easier for you to misquote the book and spread mistruths isn’t it?

        mmmm mmmmmm mmmmmm

In Obama’s book, DREAMS OF MY FATHER..

        * “I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER’S RACE”

        * “I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites”

        * “That hate hadn’t gone away,” he wrote, blaming “white people — some cruel, some ignorant, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.”

However, while campaigning in Kansas, Obama frequently emphasized that his mother was white, and that he had grown up in a predominantly white world.

        * (Obama) vowed that he would “never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.”

        * “I was trying to raise myself to be a black man in America, and beyond the given of my appearance, no one around me seemed to know exactly what that meant.” Honolulu’s paucity of African-Americans meant he had to learn to be black from the media: “TV, movies, the radio; those were places to start. Pop culture was color-coded, after all, an arcade of images from which you could cop a walk, a talk, a step, a style.”

        * About student life and race at Occidental College Obama wrote “There were enough of us on campus to constitute a tribe, and when it came to hanging out many of us chose to function like a tribe, staying close together, traveling in packs,” he wrote. “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.” He added: “To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists.”

        * While in college, Obama wrote(he) disapproved of what he called other “half-breeds” who gravitated toward whites instead of blacks.

        Again, from Colonel Ray

“And after college, he once fell in love with a white woman, only to push her away when he concluded he would have to assimilate into her world, not the other way around. He later married a black woman.”

        * After making his first visit to Kenya, Obama wrote of being disappointed to learn that his paternal grandfather had been a servant to rich whites. The revelation caused “ugly words to flash across my mind. Uncle Tom. Collaborator. House *igger.

Gnash the teeth? Are you stuck in a rut? Question for you Cluster. Well two questions. Are you familiar with Mormon theology at all? Especially early theology before Joseph Smith died?

Do you think Mitt see himself as the white horse?

      • Cluster's avatar Cluster January 13, 2012 / 7:00 pm

I don’t care about early Mormon theology – I work with the here and now and what’s in front of me. I don’t care if Mitt sees himself as the “white horse” whatever in the hell that means. I leave that kind of bullshit to lesser minds. As I said, I am comfortable with Mitt as he is now, and if I am wrong, then I will help him be removed from office and will move on. My hunch is that he will make a good President and put us back on a sound fiscal path.
