“CHICAGO (MarketWatch) — The Treasury Department is resisting General Motors’ push for the government to sell off its stake in the auto maker, The Wall Street Journal reports. Following a $50 billion bailout in 2009, the U.S. taxpayers now own almost 27% of the company. But the newspaper said GM executives are now chafing at that, saying it hurts the company’s reputation and its ability to attract top talent due to pay restrictions.”
So the Obama regime is RESISTING efforts of a private company to be private again. After forcing the resignation of their CEO, capping executive pay, and imposing the build out of their “green car” dreams, which is now out of production, the Obama regime is saying no to selling back it’s shares because of course that would then nullify Obama’s big campaign slogan – “We saved GM”!!
Unbelievable. Sadly though, the unbelievable has become believable in the surreal Obama universe.
Lot’s going on folks. Have at it and be civil.
As far as hurting GM’s reputation, that ship set sail when they took the “bailout” and put Barry and the Boyz in the driver’s seat They screwed the shareholders, they screwed the taxpayers, and now they are whining because they think they are being screwed by the government.
Hey, GM—-IT’S THE GOVERNMENT! What, you thought that they were just benevolent helpers in your time of need? It was like going to the Mob for a loan. Actually, there is no “like” TO it——-it WAS going to the Mob for a loan, and now the terms are too onerous.
Poor babies.
I love my new Ford pickup. When I wanted a sedan about three years ago I liked the look of the Malibu, and that it was AWD, but passed because of what GM did. I have met many people who became disgusted with the transition from General Motors to Government Motors, even before the shareholders got shafted and the unions paid off. It’s been really funny to watch Ford surge ahead and make money, while GM has been stuck with the deal it cut with the government, and even funnier to watch the shenanigans as the feds and the company shuffle inventory around and engage in creative bookkeeping to show a paper profit.
I got a chuckle out of this when I saw the headline at MarketWatch this morning. Anyone, I don’t care if you’re union or not, who has a pension fund that had investments in GM or Chrysler bonds should be outraged at what Obama did putting the unions ahead of the preferred bond holders, and turning a century of bankruptcy law on its head.
How many of you think that what Romeny said is spot on?
http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/Romney-video-american-victims/2012/09/17/id/452072
I think what he said is the absolute truth yet liberals are trying to construe this as mean. What a bunch of loser wusses they are. The fact is 47% DO NOT pay income taxes and DO believe that government owes them stuff BECAUSE democrats have been telling them that and promising that.
Time to break the cycle of losers and leeches. Way to go Mitt.
Clearly a DNC operative paid to go to a Romney fund raiser and recorded this – and then the Obama camp combed through it and found what they think is the negative aspect and handed it off to the MSM, instructing them to run it in to the ground. But, thing is, its just truth – those people who are dependent upon government are not going to vote for Romney on a tax-cutting, budget-cutting, traditional GOP platform.
This was all set up, by the way, some time ago – Donks out here in Nevada are already putting up lying ads misrepresenting what Romney said. In the olden days, they would be able to fully get away with it as no one would ever see the actual video – but now there is You Tube and the New Media, so people will find out that all Romney said was the truth.
Larry O’Donnell was just trying to sell the notion that what Romney said was the “worst thing any Presidential candidate has ever said”. Evidently Larry forgot about Obama saying that those in “fly over country” are clinging to their “guns and bibles”. Oh wait, Larry never covered what Obama said back then, so maybe he didn’t forget.
The most important thing to remember here is that these are acts of desperation by people who know they’ve lost the election…they are just using every expedient they can to try and shake off the economy and, now, foreign policy. This was probably something which was supposed to come out in time with the debates, but they had to move it up now in order to get everyone talking about anything other than the Libya/Egypt fiasco.
The best thing we can do, actually, is to just ignore them…whatever it is the MSM and Obama (same/same) want to talk about is clearly going to be something which doesn’t need to be talked about, at all.
About 43% of those Americans that don’t pay Federal income tax describe themselves as conservatives.
http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Latest-News-Wires/2012/0917/How-damaging-is-Romney-s-victims-comment/%28page%29/2
Ezra Klein does a pretty good job of explaining the whole 47% thing.
“Part of the reason so many Americans don’t pay federal income taxes is that Republicans have passed a series of very large tax cuts that wiped out the income-tax liability for many Americans. That’s why, when you look at graphs of the percent of Americans who don’t pay income taxes, you see huge jumps after Ronald Reagan’s 1986 tax reform and George W. Bush’s 2001 and 2003 tax cuts. So whenever you hear that half of Americans don’t pay federal income taxes, remember: Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush helped build that.”
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/wp/2012/09/17/romneys-theory-of-the-taker-class-and-why-it-matters/
cappy: ““Part of the reason so many Americans don’t pay federal income taxes is that Republicans have passed a series of very large tax cuts that wiped out the income-tax liability for many Americans.”
cappy, you forget the dumbed down talking points from the Democratic playbook. The DEMS, looters and drones kept saying that Republicans gave tax cuts to the rich at the expense of the middle and lower classes!
They are still saying it now during the Romney campaign.
Do you ever read an comprehend what you drones regurgitate.
Otherwise, are you saying that the middle and lower class are due a tax increase to pay down the debt? Something that obAMATEUR and the DEMS refuse to face?
So when we were saying it before, that 47% of Americans pay no federal income taxes, you drones were defending it. Now after Ezra Klein’s article (Ezra Klein? give me a break – another mouthpiece for the obAMATEUR administration – just look how he mindlessly regurgitating the talking points about civility), you change your mind and think it is a bad thing?
That would be too predictable….. and pathetic.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/sep/18/romneys-47-percent-us-election?newsfeed=true
Michael Cooper for the New York Times writes: “A major reason that many poor people no longer pay federal income taxes is the Earned Income Tax Credit, which has long been supported by Republicans. The credit was added to the tax code when Gerald Ford was president, and was expanded by President Reagan in 1986 and by George Bush Sr.”
So would Romney like to see higher taxes? Or perhaps just for the poor?”
So would Romney like to see higher taxes? Or perhaps just for the poor?”
Fred, you’re engaged in static thinking. No one wants needy people who are barely scraping by to pay more taxes. That’s simply a straw man. What I, and I think most Conservatives want is for an economy that is thriving and prosperous enough that it lifts people out of poverty, creating millions of new taxpayers and broadening the tax base in the process. I believe Romney wants the same thing. It’s nothing more than the old JFK idea that a “rising tide lifts all boats”. Your alternative seems to be trickle up poverty.
Cluster, this is not a debate that Romney should run away from. The people who are offended by his remarks, as he said, are not likely to vote for him anyway. There are, however, a lot of people who voted for Obama in 2008 who thought hope and change meant lifting the have-not up, not using them as canon fodder. We may be close to the tipping point where the takers outnumber the wealth generators, but I don’t think we’re quite there yet.
Spook
We may be close to the tipping point where the takers outnumber the wealth generators, but I don’t think we’re quite there yet.
dangerously close, when we hit that point WE the working stiffs who have been holding the whole country together will be blamed for the mess and set upon by the leftist loons.
Our only salvation is WE are armed and know what is to come.
Actually Spook this is a debate Romney should run from because the facts do not support his arguments.
cluster,
Do you believe that the 43% of Americans who describe themselves as conservatives are losers?
Sorry, meant to say:

SOD OFF LOSER
Casper, I’d be willing to bet that the majority of conservative commneters here on this blog have gotten refunds from the IRS the majority of their lives. That doesn’t mean they aren’t taxpayers it just means they never underpaid their taxes.
As a classic example of the economic illiteracy of the RRL: “I’d be willing to bet that the majority of conservative commneters here on this blog have gotten refunds from the IRS the majority of their lives.”
REFUND, you moron. As in, a return of OVERPAID taxes. You have quite a little run on stupidity in that one sentence, Freddy—“majority of conservative commenters here”, then the abject stupidity of not even knowing what a REFUND is, and then of course “the majority (sic) of their lives”.
But then, what can you expect from a pudgy cab driver who lives in hell?
This is classic casper—not a comment, just a sniveling little effort to set up a “gotcha” so he can tee hee till he pees down his leg.
It’s what passes for political commentary in casperland.
He still can’t, or won’t, man up and tell us how he thinks the nation should be governed, and why.
And there is a reason for this. He knows that he would have to lie and claim he believes the Constitution is the best blueprint for governing our nation, but then he would have to deal with the fact that the people he supports in office, Obama most of all, are actively appealing to people willing to ignore or overturn the Constitution to implement political plans and social engineering experiments that are antithetical to the Constitution.
And besides asking him to grow a pair and take a side, it would require him to think.
Not gonna happen.
So he will just continue with his weak little sniggers and impotent efforts at silly “gotchas”.
Amazona you get my point then. Virtually everyone who has a job in the US pays payroll taxes. Neocon1 was the first to bring this up in regard to people who get more money back than they paid in during the year. He included people who get REFUNDS in the “Moocher” category. And btw be warned no more name calling no matter how pissed you are that Romney is tanking.
ferddy sputz
BIG BIG difference in ***OVERYAYING****** your taxes and getting THAT OVERPAYMENT back, than the EIC where one may pay say $500.00 in taxes then get a check for $5,000.00 “back”
Pudgy taxi driver in hell?? LOL danny diVito ? is dat you?
Fredrick,
A great deal of these folks who are sucking the government teat for exaggerated refunds are not even legal to work in the US. One example could be found in the illegals that rape our tax system every year.
Illegal Aliens Got $4.2 Billion in Refundable Tax Credits Last Year: http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2011/09/illegal-aliens-got-4-2-billion-in-refundable-tax-credits-last-year/
Aside from that–I believe that everyone should have “skin in the game” so a FLAT / FAIR tax system is required and all exemptions should be done with. A break up to the “poverty level” and tax everything over. A fair solution is the consumption based taxes with a break to poverty level.
Mitt is toast now. Done. Finished. Kaput. His campaign is DEAD. About time, too.
Get used to hearing this phrase over the next few months and beyond:
Four. More. Years.
Polls indicate the many Americans think government “should do more”.
So, Romney is not far off.
http://www.gallup.com/poll/157481/majority-say-government-doing.aspx
Cybie, old pal. Back to your old screen name, I see. What you and most Lefties fail to recognize is that there are more voters (ie. people who are actually going to vote on November 6th) whose first concern is that their children and grandchildren are at least as free and prosperous as they have been than there are voters whose first concern is what they can get from government. The first is a much greater motivation than the second, and the election will reflect that.
Spook you might have been a great spook but you’re and awful pundit. Most Americans true would like a better future for their children and grandchildren but when it comes to this election many of them want to feel better about the near term first
Cyber,
Wrong once again as a poll taken by CNBC this morning (up till 2pm Eastern) had 70% response rate (just over 10,000 when I heard it) that agreed with Mitt. Spin, spin, spin but this is a plus for Romney.
Enjoy being pandered to Cluster. Many of those in that 47% who do not pay income taxes are the people who collect Social Security.
FsP
BS….again
lets try the innercitys huh?
This is terrific. Rachel Maddow, of all people, exposes the Obama regime as not only lying about the Libya uprising, but pointing to specifics that were completely ignored by Obama thereby clearly demonstrating how Obama put our ambassador and embassy at high risk. Thank you Rachel.
“The assignment was to set Derna up just outside of Benghazi as essentially a new, mini-Afghanistan,” Maddow said, “a new hub for al Qaeda, with multiple training camps there for al Qaeda fighters. That was last year and ultimately this murder of an American ambassador did not happen in Tripoli, didn’t happen way over on the western part of the country, in the capital where the US has its embassy and which is guarded by US Marines and has full security, it didn’t happen there. It happened when the ambassador was in this lightly fortified consulate building, over in the eastern part of the country, in a city that’s basically right next to what al Qaeda is trying to build as a new hub for terrorist training.”

I grew up GM / Chevy when one still pledged allegiance to a manufacturer. I will not even look at a GM product until it is no longer Government Motors including any and all regulatory measures on all levels.
Less we forget others near GM:
Delphi, a 13-year old company that is independent of General Motors, is one of the world’s largest automotive parts manufacturers. Twenty thousand of its workers lost nearly their entire pensions when the government bailed out GM. At the same time, Delphi employees who were members of the United Auto Workers union saw their pensions topped off and made whole.
{…}
The U.S. Treasury Department, led by Timothy Geithner, was the driving force behind terminating the pensions of 20,000 salaried retirees at the Delphi auto parts manufacturing company. The move, made in 2009 while the Obama administration implemented its auto bailout plan, appears to have been made solely because those retirees were not members of labor unions.
Worse than even living through the AMC / HD incident.
Read all about it: http://dailycaller.com/2012/08/07/emails-geithner-treasury-drove-cutoff-of-non-union-delphi-workers-pensions/
Seems that Obama’s kowtowing to Islamism knows no bounds
So who is the 47%?
“These Americans range from the very poor to solidly middle-class families with jobs, homes, cars and vacations. The Tax Policy Center says “relatively few nontaxable households” have incomes exceeding $100,000; families that make between $50,000 and $100,000 often owe no income tax because of breaks for their kids and for education.”
dream on, innertcity plantation dwellers are NOT conservative just because some Moron wrote an article saying so. LOL
All
dont forget about the dealers who arbitrarily lost their dealerships to minorities who were new to the business by the Ochimpy regime.

Who’d a thought??
Barack Obama’s political base always has been more “creative class” than working class—and his policies have favored that base, seeming to cater to energized issue and identity constituencies including African-Americans, Hispanics, gays, and greens, often at the expense of blue-collar workers.

Republicans are “bomb-throwers” and “hostage takers” who sip Slurpees while driving the economy into a ditch. If they want to help, though, they have to sit in the back of the bus. From there, at least they won’t be able to excavate moats and fill them with alligators to kill Hispanics slipping across the border from Mexico. Republicans are members of the Flat Earth Society, though, so how worthwhile would their input be anyway? Might as well stick with the Slurpees — if Mayor Bloomberg permits.
Guess that whole “there is not a liberal America and a conservative America; there’s the United States of America” thing was “just words” back in 2004.

Neocon1 keep talking brother the folks in Ohio and Florida can’t hear you!
Fred,
The folks in Florida and Ohio already elected conservative governors and other representatives in 2010, and the folks in Wisconsin reelected a conservative governor who told the unions and the folks at MSNBC to pound sand. So they know very well what neocon is saying.
Cluster Romney has put himself in a box here he can’t get out of and still win this election. That 47% isn’t all black or all gay or all anything. Those people are the middle class and the poor in America. Romney had a choice he can give conservatives like you a few months of warm fuzzies to bash a President you hate for whatever reason or he could have tacked to the center and won in a landslide against a President he could have painted easily as a failure on the economy.
Fred,
They are poor primarily because of democratic policies. They fully understand that the Keynesian approach by Obama is a complete failure, and voted in conservatism in 2010, and will do so again in 2012. This election is a referendum on Obama, not Romney. And with rising gas prices, rising grocery prices, rising unemployment, rising debt, rising deficits, rising taxes, and a foreign policy that is literally killing Americans, that referendum will be an easy decision by a lot of people.
It’s sad to know that you support failure and mediocrity but that’s your choice.
David Brooks explains it all:
“But these are not the sensible arguments that Mitt Romney made at a fund-raiser earlier this year. Romney, who criticizes President Obama for dividing the nation, divided the nation into two groups: the makers and the moochers. Forty-seven percent of the country, he said, are people “who are dependent upon government, who believe they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to take care of them, who believe they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it.”
This comment suggests a few things. First, it suggests that he really doesn’t know much about the country he inhabits. Who are these freeloaders? Is it the Iraq war veteran who goes to the V.A.? Is it the student getting a loan to go to college? Is it the retiree on Social Security or Medicare?
It suggests that Romney doesn’t know much about the culture of America. Yes, the entitlement state has expanded, but America remains one of the hardest-working nations on earth. Americans work longer hours than just about anyone else. Americans believe in work more than almost any other people. Ninety-two percent say that hard work is the key to success, according to a 2009 Pew Research Survey.
It says that Romney doesn’t know much about the political culture. Americans haven’t become childlike worshipers of big government. On the contrary, trust in government has declined. The number of people who think government spending promotes social mobility has fallen.
The people who receive the disproportionate share of government spending are not big-government lovers. They are Republicans. They are senior citizens. They are white men with high school degrees. As Bill Galston of the Brookings Institution has noted, the people who have benefited from the entitlements explosion are middle-class workers, more so than the dependent poor. “
What the liberal David Brooks omitted was this:
Senior citizens have already paid their INCOME taxes, and are now receiving the return of their PAYROLL taxes. An inconvenient fact that liberals like to conflate every time. And it hardly matters what color of skin those who don’t pay income taxes, have, or what societal class they belong to. The fact is 47% of American households do not pay income taxes, thanks largely to democrats and republicans giving away the national treasury in return for votes. Therefore, only 53% of this country contribute to the general fund that carries this nation. That dynamic has to change. The key is to broaden the base, lower the rates, eliminate loop holes and exemptions, and reignite the economy.
I only wish liberals like David Brooks would be honest about that.
So.. again, cappy, the Democrats who say that the Republicans give tax cuts to the rich “on the backs of the poor and middle class” is a LIE?
Casper is dreaming once again or kids are worth a lot more than I could imagine on Fed Tax returns. I didn’t make $100K last year but filling as a single payer cost me north of $19,000 in taxes paid in that same year.
Spook,
You are correct, this is a debate Romney wants, and this is the BEST thing Romney has ever said, because it is the most honest thing he has ever said. The truth is, most, if not all of those 47% probably won’t vote for him because they are already on the democratic plantation, exactly where Obama and Pelosi want them. However, contrary to what democrats think, Americans DON’T WANT people like Obama and Pelosi telling them what kind of toilets they will have, what kind of light bulbs they will have, what kind of cars to drive, what schools their children will go to, and what their kids will eat at school. We ARE NOT that kind of people, but the 47% have already been bought off, and will most likely vote for the democrats who continue to promise them things and absolve them from responsibility in return for their vote. Romney is 100% correct in saying that he needs to win the vote of the 53%.
Casper is a good example. He will vote for any politician who he admittedly “likes”, be damned with any actual constitutional positions, and one who will strengthen his union entitlements of pension and benefits. Period. Casper doesn’t care about the most effective governance of a nation – one that has raised the standard of living of more people than any nation in the history of the planet, one that has given more civil rights to more people than any nation in the history of the planet, and one that has liberated more people in the history of the planet. Small minded people, myopically focus on small minded issues and mostly issues that impact themselves. Up thread, Casper mindlessly asked whether or not I thought if 43% of the people who say they are conservatives are losers. What a juvenile question, but it is a good example of the level of intellect liberals engage in.
Romney is spot on, and needs to say this everyday, if only to expose the 47% for being selfishly motivated. Maybe cyberactor will see himself for once.
Lord, the arrogance. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad.
Oh, Cluster is among the enlightened few that think only of the standards, history and liberating power of this country. The rest of us? We’re just in it for ourselves. Greedy, greedy liberals. That’s all we are.
Forget that the entire conservative agenda is based solely on the premise of making sure the rich get richer. And completely put from you mind the idea that raising tax rates on the top 1% from the current rate up to the Clinton rate of 39% is just plain socialism in their eyes. FORGET that. The rich aren’t part of the problem and never have been. You seem to forget the conservative mantra:
Blame the poor.
The 47% that Romney sneers at include the poor, the elderly, the disabled, the working poor, the lower middle-class and those with kids whose tax breaks allow them to get a refund rather than pay the Feds. Plus, let’s not forget that they also pay payroll taxes, too. But that’s not what’s important.
What’s important is: 47% of the nation, in Mitt Romney (and Cluster’s) eyes are “selfishly motivated.” Only guys like Romney and Cluster know best.
Don’t forget that.
Forget that the entire conservative agenda is based solely on the premise of making sure the rich get richer.
Well the above brain dead talking point aside, cyber at least acknowledged that I am smarter than him, which is true and good first step. Far be it from cyber to comment on anything in terms of the conservative agenda, of which he knows nothing, he does proceed to immerse himself into nearly every false liberal premise.
Democrats have spent the better part of the last four decades giving away the national treasury in return for votes, a fact of which slips past the steel trap of a mind cyber likes to think he has, and those giveaways have resulted in a large, entitled voting bloc of which Romney spoke of. That is simply a fact. Payroll taxes, are not income taxes, and are returned in the form of Medicare and Social Security to the payee, which is again a simple fact either ignored, or beyond the comprehension level of people like cyber. The key to turning this country around is to broaden the tax payer base, and reignite the private sector economy. Again, simple little facts that go beyond the intellectual capacities of a liberal like cyber.
Hang with me kid, I can teach you a lot.
Poor Cluster. Can’t see the burning forest for the trees.
Kids, your guy just lost the election. Look around the interwebs today and you’ll see: the main talking point is how Romney just proved himself to be the snobby, disdainful, arrogant, out-of-touch, privileged clown he has always been accused of being.
Seriously, how can a guy suggest that everyone- EVERYONE- who does not pay Federal income taxes is either a moocher or a bum? And that they ALL vote for Barack Obama simply because he will continue to allow them to suckle at the governmental teat? This from a guy who won’t release HIS tax returns? Oh, the delicious, wonderful irony of it all.
The best part? He’s sticking by it, for now. He hasn’t backed off this boneheaded claim. he will, of course. He has to. But this “debate you guys want so badly? Won’t happen. Romney needs to very, very carefully walk this back and I don’t think he can.
Seriously, how can a guy suggest that everyone- EVERYONE- who does not pay Federal income taxes is either a moocher or a bum?
Well thanks again for the commentary from the fifth grade. Your assessment of what Romney said, has no bearing on reality and rational adults see the absolute truths in Romney’s comments, truths that small minded people like you run from.
So enjoy paying high gas prices and high grocery prices while 23 million Americans are out of work, and the ME is on fire. That will all change on 1/20/13
Romney needs to very, very carefully walk this back and I don’t think he can.
Cybie’s position seems to be that all of the people in that 47% are there by desire and want to stay there. I think rather than being perceived as a flip-flopper – AGAIN, there’s a lemon/lemonade opportunity here. Rather than walk it back, what I’d like to see Romney do is appeal to the portion of that 47% who want to improve their station in life, something that will never happen with Progressive policies. In fact, under Progressive policies, that number will only continue to increase. It’s a pretty sad commentary on the greatest country on the planet when nearly half of the population is not prosperous enough to contribute to the general fund of the federal government.
Spook,
Brilliantly said. I once again defer to the master, and acknowledge that this is why you earn the big money.
“This from a guy who won’t release HIS tax returns? ”
See how desperate they are? They are not only dependent on lies, they are dependent on lies about the superficial.
and acknowledge that this is why you earn the big money.
Sadly, the check was lost in the mail, heh.
Cyberactor,
“Lord, the arrogance. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad” applies more to Liberals with their big government agenda and OPM than it does to any Constitutional driven individual of any party affiliation. First thing you need to understand is that the Government has no money of it’s own–it is taken from the people.
Why don’t we do a “wealth” tax like parts of the EU are now talking about? Evaluate everyone’s total wealth including the screamers from Hollyweird, Soros types (Koch brothers included), sports stars, etc. and then make a “Progressive” tax system which strip them of their (in Liberal / Progressive opinions) ill-gotten gains. Maybe 90% you all seem to like so much.
Watch the left start to scream like little babies stripped of their rattles.
The concept that this will harm Romney is laughable – if anything, it is simply going to drive more people to the polls to support him as he’s finally laying his finger on the fundamental anger of the majority: that too many people are getting a free ride. If Romney couples this with more and more vigorous attacks on Obama’s crony capitalism, then he’ll become a TEA Party hero and could easily top 56% of the vote.
The only thing wrong with Romney’s analysis is that it gives the impression that those who are government dependents all vote – they don’t. People who are sitting on their couch watching daytime TV while waiting for the EBT card to be re-filled are not citizens in the truest sense of the word. Some of them vote, but most of them are too lazy and indifferent to vote. It is because of this reality that we’ve seen our liberals over the past few elections trying to bribe these people to actually get to the polls…and why we’ve seen our liberals more and more rely on absentee ballot initiatives because they know they simply can’t get a welfare bum off his duff on election day (and it is the real reason they oppose voter ID and other voter security measures…such efforts will crimp their ability to get the welfare vote).
Romney will win this election – hands down and quite easily. It’ll be over by about 8:30 Pacific and it’ll only hold off that long because the MSM won’t want to call it for Romney before the polls close in California.
“Romney will win this election – hands down and quite easily. It’ll be over by about 8:30 Pacific and it’ll only hold off that long because the MSM won’t want to call it for Romney before the polls close in California.”
Mr Noonan I’m going to hold you to that.

This morning, the brain trust at MSNBC, ie; F. Chuck Todd, etc, are all a giddy over the “improving economy”. I guess rising gas prices, rising grocery proces, rising disability claims, and decreasing levels of work force participation are now good. Who knew?
Still, not one word from the media, or any democratic official on the audacity of the Obama regime and Susan Rice to outright LIE to the American people in regards to the embassy attacks on September 11th. NOT ONE WORD.
Mr. Obama is a liar, is incompetent, is a former pot head and not worthy of the office he holds.

It’s a sad commentary on the state of our country when liberals and the media, sorry for the redundancy, are more focused on the challenger stating inconvenient facts, rather than a regime who outright lies to the American public.
“It’s a pretty sad commentary on the greatest country on the planet when nearly half of the population is not prosperous enough to contribute to the general fund of the federal government.”
So let me get this straight: Your position is that the wealthiest Americans are overtaxes…but the poorest Americans are UNDERtaxed? That’s really your position? That those who are worse off than everyone else aren’t working hard enough or paying their fair share?
Please- run with that message. Carve it on a mountain. Put it in every political ad this year. Because that’s what we’ve been saying about you for years and it’s nice for you to finally admit that it’s true.
To find out who that 47% really is, have a look at this: http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2012/09/the-47-who-they-are-where-they-live-how-they-vote-and-why-they-matter/262506/
That’s right- the majority of Americans who don’t pay Federal taxes are from Red states, not Blue. Romney is attacking his freakin’ base. What a moron.
Cyberdrone, you either have very poor reading comprehension or you are simply lying like your looting proggy masters. Your claims of cluster’s and spook’s responses are not what was said.
Pathetic.
That’s EXACTLY what they said, Libby. They said, like Romney, that the mythical, lazy 47% are dependent on the government and only vote for Obama to keep themselves on the nanny-state’s teat. This is, of course, a complete lie. But that has never stopped you from spreading such disinformation in the past, so why should it stop you now?
However, I’m happy to have you prove me wrong. So tell me: of the 47% of Americans who pay no Federal income tax, how many of them are what you would classify as “moochers”? Answer that question honestly and I’ll change my tune.
And you tiredoflibbs are delusional.
As I said cyberdrone, your reading comprehension is dismal and/or non-existent.
“Moochers” are those who pay 0% income taxes, PLUS receive wealth redistribution payments or 100% of the tax credits and contribute 0% to tax revenues, which are not allof the 47% that you and your fellow drones lie about.
So to dumb it down for you… For example, a person pays $1000 in withholding taxes. At the end of the year, they get their $1000 refunded plus receive over $3500 in tax credits (EIC tax credit for one). They get $3500+ simply because some politician wishes to purchase their vote with wealth redistribution. That is a Moochers and not someone on SS who have contributed to the system.
You are regurgitating dumbed down talking points for the ignorant drones of the left.
Freddy the Forker, you are a simply ignorant cabby.
No, no, Romney is not “attacking his freakin’ base”. But thanks for at least a token effort at reining in your inherent profanity.
He is not attacking anything other than a system which allows the takers to decide how much they are going to take from the producers.
And clearly this candid comment on the state of the nation has a whole bunch of Lib panties in a collective twist (though, being Libs, could it be any other kind??) because they are crawling out of the woodwork like cockroaches to try to spin it into something less damaging to them.
Some know this is frantic spin to try to divert attention from the truth, some just buy into what their minders and talking heads tell them, but in any case all we ever have to do to see where their weaknesses are is to pay attention to what gets them moblilized.
Another thing they make increasingly clear is their position based on nothing but emotion. Anyone see one of the mouthbreathing trolls here address the differences in the political systems of Romney and Obama and stand up for one or dismantle the other?
Me either.
The closest they can get is silly lies like how all “conservatives” want to do is make the rich richer.
Just try to bring up the fact that this election is about big government vs small, collectivism vs individualism, Constitutionalism vs its opposite, and they flip out and start howling about “the rich”. It’s all they’ve got.
Amazona:
Jeez, I don’t know how many more times I can say it before you get it but…well, here goes:
Romney’s mistake was in assuming that (a) everyone in the 47% group who doesn’t pay Federal taxes is a moocher, (b) that this ENTIRE population votes for Obama, (c) that if you don’t pay Federal taxes, you aren’t taking responsibility for your life, you are dependent and are a drag on this nation and finally (d) that he wasn’t being taped at the time.
So here is YOUR chance: Of the 47% who do not pay Federal taxes, how many of them are (a) moochers and (b) Democrats? The answer, the REAL answer, is not what you think.
Please base any and all answers to this question on facts and not speculation. Thanks for playing.
YOUR mistake, though I’m not sure an effort to promote a purposeful lie can be called a “mistake”, is in falsely claiming Romney called these people “moochers”.
And when your entire screed is based on a lie, there is no reason to go further.
So let me get this straight: Your position is that the wealthiest Americans are overtaxes…but the poorest Americans are UNDERtaxed? That’s really your position?
No (I’m trying to remain constrained here in the face of a near total lack of reading comprehension). Come to think of it, I’m not sure I can lay it out any simpler than the way I did. From my 9:56 post:
From my 10:41 post:
Now, Cybie — think about this carefully before giving your typical knee-jerk answer. Where do you see anything about the wealthiest Americans being overtaxed? Where do you see anything of the poorest Americans being undertaxed?
Spooky:
That is NOT what Romney said. He didn’t say “I want this economy to get better so these poor working people can make enough money to begin paying into the system like everyone else” or “My economic policies are the solution to helping the working poor of this nation live better, healthier, more prsperous lives.” Nope. He said:
“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax….”
He dismissed, out of hand, almost half of this nation, classifying this ENTIRE group as greedy, lazy, entitled, self-involved dimwits who vote robotically for a President who promises to keep them on the government dole.
So…who are these people Mitt so cavalierly dismisses? A great many of them are Republicans. A great majority of them are the working poor and the lower middle-class. A great many of them are old and are now receiving benefits they earned through decades of contributions to Social Security and Medicare. And a great many of them are insulted and pissed off at this candidate’s stupid, thoughtless, arrogant comments.
Who can blame them?
That is NOT what Romney said.
Didn’t say it was (you really need to work on your reading comprehension). I said that’s what I’d like to see Romney say instead of trying to walk back those comments.
Here’s an article that gives a little broader context to what Romney said before in that private fundraiser.
Leave it to me to try to talk sense in the little B4B bubble. I’ll never get past the “Romney=Good, Obama=Evil” filter, so why bother?
The rest of the country is reacting to Romney’s boneheaded statements with disgust and anger, as we should. Why? Because Mittens wrongly identified ALL Obama voters as being non-tax-paying, dependent, think-swe’re-vitims takers and the rest of the country as the workers, the earners, the responsible ones. It is beyond arrogant. It’s just plain wrong.
The numbers are wrong, the economics are wrong, the characterization is wrong, the sterotypes are wrong and the voting patters are wrong. But…no point in trying to sway the willfully ignorant.
Sad, sad, sad.
Leave it to me to try to talk sense in the little B4B bubble.
Aw, boo-frickin’-hoo. You poor put-upon little leftist.
“He dismissed, out of hand, almost half of this nation, classifying this ENTIRE group as greedy, lazy, entitled, self-involved dimwits who vote robotically for a President who promises to keep them on the government dole.”
************
Romney “….wrongly identified ALL Obama voters as being non-tax-paying, dependent, think-swe’re-vitims takers and the rest of the country as the workers, the earners, the responsible ones. It is beyond arrogant. It’s just plain wrong.”
**************
The thing is, this never happened.
You, CA, need so desperately to demonize the Right that you will stoop to anything, even overt lying, to try to make your venomous point.
But you simply lie. You project your own hatefulness onto a simple, honest comment, which is the only way you can come up with crap like “…classifying this ENTIRE group as greedy, lazy, entitled, self-involved dimwits …” And you double down on your vicious idiocy with “…identified ALL Obama voters as being non-tax-paying, dependent, think-swe’re-vitims (sic)takers …”
Aside from the obvious—-that clearly many Obama voters are quite wealthy, Hollywood and Wall Street standing as examples—this is just a creepy peek into the ugly mind of cyberactor.
Yes, it is tempting to look at the huge number of 47% and see only the harm it does to the nation by having such a large number of people not contributing to its expenses, and not break out the moochers from the workers who legitimately do not have to pay taxes on their income. But it’s just a shortcut, a little laziness perhaps, not the huge massive vile dismissive demeaning vicious reprehensible attack on half of the nation the slobbering Left is determined to make it.
Honest people would look at this and say “There are a lot of people in that 47% who are not taking advantage of the productive in this nation” and move on. But not the howling rabble that seems to BE the new Left in this country.
No, they have a chance to smear someone and by damn they are not going to pass it up!
And cyberactor is quite happy to be at the forefront of the mob, howling for Romney’s head, with little mitche trotting faithfully along behind, picking up the droppings of the crowd and sniffing them in admiration.
Cyber,
Just in case you missed it the first time;
Wrong once again as a poll taken by CNBC (not a right wing (whatever that is) news organization) this morning (up till 2pm Eastern) had 70% response rate (just over 10,000 when I heard it) that agreed with Mitt. Spin, spin, spin but this is a plus for Romney.
Great piece by Caroline Glick in The Jerusalem Post about the unrest in the M.E.
MIddle East!! MIDDLE EAST !!! MIDDLE EAST !!
Who gives a flip about the MIDDLE EAST when we can frantically devote energy and hysteria to trying to reframe what Romney said into something the Left can howl at the moon about?
Where are your PRIORITIES, man?
We have only two years of tax returns !!!!!!! after only asking for two years of tax returns from other candidates !!!!
We have a candidate commenting on a fact!!!!!!
If you get your way, we’ll be talking about the United States Justice Department overriding other federal agencies to put lethal weapons into the hands of one chosen Mexican drug cartel, to give it an advantage over other Mexican drug cartels, resulting the deaths of hundreds of apparently expendable Latinos and the ceding of US territory to the criminals.
If you get your way, we’ll be talking about the US government going behind closed doors to formulate laws forcing automakers to build unsafe cars to meet arbitrary standards of fuel efficiency—and the president announcing that continuing to be dependent on foreign oil by shifting the focus from domestic production to consumption is really the same thing as becoming less dependent on foreign oil.
If you get your way, we’ll be talking about the Federal Reserve openly admitting to being nothing but a political tool, propping up Obama’s failed economy with taxpayer dollars in hopes of gulling Americans into thinking thing are getting better, with a new influx of freshly printed dollars WITHOUT ANY LIMIT THIS TIME on how many will be pumped into the dying economy.
If you get your way, we’ll be talking about
Royal Edictspresidential resolutions, and how they illustrate Obama’s stated intent to just do what he wants to do if Congress won’t.If you get your way, we’ll be talking about how we “arm” our Border Patrol agents with weapons but then force them to fire beanbags instead of actual ammunition—-against criminals we have armed with really lethal weapons, see above.
If you get your way, we’ll be talking about the disaster in the Middle East, about how Barry’s overweening hubris and arrogance have set us up as still despised, targets for retribution for Bin Laden’s death and the subsequent gloating by the Left, and our failure to even provide basic security for our diplomatic corps.
No, we need to get back to just how many tax returns of Romney’s WOULD silence the rabble, and did you know his wife rides horses?
Amazona that screed just makes you look desperate girl.
Speaking of hilarious and sad….
Asst. Attny General for the Civil Rights Division Thomas Perez can’t answer the simple question proposed to him.
The question, “will this administration’s department of justice will never entertain or advance a proposal that will criminalize speech against a religion”?
He won’t answer it.
http://www.boortz.com/weblogs/nealz-nuze/2012/sep/18/controversy-continues/
Video at the bottom.
There is no need to engage the juvenile, over emotional and ill informed mind of cyberactor anymore. He has his Obama knee pads and chin bucket firmly in place and will ignore any rational discourse.
Another thing that must be remembered – the fund raiser was done on May 17th. That was five months before it was released to Mother Jones…which means that the Donks had it all this time and were just waiting for a moment when they thought they needed it in order to try and change the issue…now, what were we talking about just before this came out? Oh, yeah – our collapsed economy and the disastrous failure of Obama’s foreign policy.
We really have to stop falling for this crap. Its all just Obama/MSM nonsense designed to distract us.
UPDATE: Now it is coming out that the man who had the video was Jimmy Carter’s grandson…ROFL: I guess Carter is not satisfied with Obama being his second term and he now wants a third!
But they are so GOOD at it!
Probably because it has been the foundation of every campaign they have ever mounted.
When is the last time you saw any Lefty running as a Lefty? On the ideology of the Left? On the comparison of Constitutional government to the Leftist model, and explaining the Leftist model and defending it and pointing to its successes?
They don’t. They can’t. They do what they can do, which is demonize the opposition and throw up chaff to try to distract us from the important issues.
Cluster, it’s too bad because cyberactor is an intelligent guy. He and I used to have some great global warming discussions back in the day. He has the intellectual ability to actually explain and defend the Progressive viewpoint, but instead he engages in, as you note, juvenile gotchas. too bad — what a waste.
CHUTZPAH ALERT !!
“”It’s hard to serve as president for all Americans when you’ve disdainfully written off half the nation,” Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said in a statement.”
This from a man whose party has written off half the nation over and over again—has told one segment of America that another segment is its “enemies” , that people demanding Constitutional government are “domestic terrorists”, that we need to be wary of returning war veterans, and most disgusting of all that people whose real political goal is merely to return to Constitutional governance for this nation are really only interested in enriching the rich and victimizing the poor.
This from a man whose campaign is now based on the tactic of telling people that conservatives just have “STARKLY DIFFERENT VALUES” and then explaining that their OWN values are things like fairness, clean air and water, and feeding the poor. THIS isn’t “disdainfully writing off half the nation”?
For a party which has based its entire strategy on shattering this nation into so many mutually distrustful groups that we no longer think of ourselves as Americans first, this is the height of hypocrisy.
This isn’t the nail in Romney’s coffin, it’s the dirt being shoveled onto it. First we have the no bump RNC complete with Clint yelling at a chair, then we have Romney claiming the President sympathizes with the people who killed our ambassador before he had all of the facts, then the widely reported story of the in-fighting in his campaign and the disarray it is in and now this. Romney claims to love America but he holds in contempt almost half of Americans. That’s a winning message! But the reaction on this blog is to be expected. You all would support Charles Manson if he was the Republican candidate. You can try to blame “the media”, you can try to blame the Obama administration but what is truly sad and pathetic is that you refuse to blame Romney. I agree that his honesty was refreshing….and that’s his problem. We finally know how he really feels and the 47% don’t like it and the undecided find it an indictment of his self-serving character. He truly is a vampire on a day pass.
Sometimes when I see a pile of steaming yet meaningless mental excrement like this, I copy it into Word and hit Word Count, just to see how many overwrought words were needed to say absolutely nothing.
In this case, 182.
Oh, there is the predictable spewing of hatred and hysteria, but no matter how hard you look, no matter how much of this crap you shovel, you never find even a nugget of an idea of how best to govern the country.
mitche emotes all the time. mitche is a fount of hostile emotion regarding Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, all who seem to qualify in his tiny little brain as “conservatives” and in general all who do not share the echo chamber with him and high-five each other on the odor of their brain farts.
( “….a vampire on a day pass…” tee hee hee, titter titter. And no, it DOESN’T have to make sense—it just has to sound vaguely snotty.)
But what you don’t see, and what you won’t see, is a single calm and rational assessment of an actual Romney policy plan. Nope, the Left don’t DO ideology.
Oh, they can—-and do—misstate Romney plans, lie about them, distort them, and do back flips to try to make them sneer-worthy. But address them? Not so much.
And as for Obama’s policies? Wow, gotta steer away from THOSE, if you are talking to people who have been keeping track. Let’s see—his economic policy = F. His foreign affairs policy = F. His domestic policies, such as energy = F. His respect for the Constitution = F. The outcome of his bright ideas such as Fast and Furious = F-minus.
No, better to avoid all these traps and just stick to what the mitches are good at—emoting the nastiest, most hostile, vicious feelings possible, while ducking and dodging those pesky little things that actually impact things like our economy, our national security, our credit rating, etc.
What is truly disgusting about his honesty, is that while he is whining about mooches and leeches who pay no federal income tax, they do pay payroll and state taxes at a higher rate than he does. And then he disparages them for it. Here is a guy who has used every available deduction and loophole to avoid paying taxes and he has the temerity to dismiss others. Priceless.
Here is a guy who has used every available deduction and loophole to avoid paying taxes and he has the temerity to dismiss others. Priceless.
Mitch, if you don’t use “every available deduction and loophole” to avoid paying too much in taxes, then you’re even more stupid than you sound.
Sorry JR, he couldn’t possibly be stupider than he sounds.
Then again, that other nit-wit thinks we get “returns” on taxes. I suppose there is further distance to the bottom of the stupid well.
Carry on.
Then again, that other nit-wit thinks we get “returns” on taxes.
Reminiscent of the guy on Rush a number of years ago that claimed he not only didn’t pay taxes, he actually got a refund at the end of the year.
Personally, I’m glad these troglodytes are dancing around their tribal bonfires beating themselves into a frenzy with anticipation and excitement over a second Obama administration.
Takes the focus off Obama’s dismal record for a day or two, but that’s about it.
But mitche is just putting his famous mitche spin on everything–you know, the one that has you holding your nose if you get too close.
And by the way, he lies.
He fusses, for example, that Romney pays payroll taxes at a lower rate than others have to pay. ???? Romney pays no payroll taxes at all if he does not have a job. DUH. What connection between “payroll” and, well. “payroll” did you miss?
As for his taxes on interest and dividends, he pays the same rate that every other person in his state pays on interest and dividends. Another DUH for the Big Duh, mitche
And snivel all you want, spin and twist and lie all you want, Romney did not DISPARAGE anyone. What is it with you people? Your sick addiction to making everything ugly is really creepy.
You know what is disparaging? Telling Latinos that other Americans are their ENEMIES and that they should attack them. Telling the nation that people who believe in the Constitutional form of government for this nation are “domestic terrorists”. Telling the nation to be wary of returning war vets as they tend to become domestic terrorists. These are truly disparaging comments, and they come from the White House and Congress.
No, he commented on some very real facts, facts which do not contribute to a healthy functioning nation.
Yes, many who do not pay taxes do not receive anything from the government, and are tax neutral. Many are receiving a return on the funds confiscated from them during their working years.
But many are recipients of federal largesse, and can be counted on to vote for more of the same.
“According to the Census Bureau, 49 percent of all Americans live in a home that gets direct monetary benefits from the federal government. ”
““The amount of money that the federal government gives directly to Americans has increased by 32 percent since Barack Obama entered the White House.”
This is not tax neutral. This is not just about people who take advantage of tax law and end up paying no federal taxes while they remain productive workers in our economy.
This is money going from the federal government to people. And these are people who can be expected to vote for this money to continue.
If you want to argue this, then do so. But otherwise, stop trying to distract from the facts with your incessant recitals of your pathology.
I used the word disparage because I chose not to use the word hate. And Romney; being the equal opportunist that he is, also made light of Latinos in that speech as well as the Palestinians. And no, it did not escape me that Romney pays no payroll taxes. All of these arguments are academic because when Romney loses this election, hopefully it will force the Republicans to return to some semblance of sanity.
I used the word disparage because I chose not to use the word hate.
He disparaged somebody?? Oh the horrors.
I am still trying to figure out who the enemies of the Hispanics are, when Obama told the Hispanic caucus to “punish” their enemies. Do you have a read on that Mitch?
If the new GM wants to get out from under the U.S. Government ownership then the Management and Board of Directors should authorize the “buy-back” of the outstanding shares at the breakeven price of $54.00 a share. That would result in the citizens getting back “at least the original amount” but would not accrue any interest gained for the investment. The U.S. Government should not sell the shares at a loss.
You should send them a letter ‘dolf.
This is just the kind of solid governmental investment advice General Motors needs; borrow heavily against equity the government has in GM to buy shares at twice market value then sell the stock at $24.13 and use the proceeds to pay back the government loans.
With GM completely worthless we can finally stop subsidizing Chevy Volts.
BRILLIANT!
Exactly
SO Clueless, who started this thread is a Moron. The taxpayers (you and I) coughed up 50 billion and GM would like to pay that off with worthless stock.
Because it’s a bunch of rich guys in suits asking to defraud the taxpayers Clueless thinks it is hilarious.
The Count of Cant needs to advise Clueless that the taxpayers would be cheated by following his advice.
Wait … your strategy is to make a stupid statement, then lie about something someone else wrote (which is easily dis proven) then toss around accusations?
Stick to teaching arithmetic ‘dolf. You’re the only one around here that suggested GM spend twice market value to buy stocks.
the Government has already lost $ Billions on this stock deal; selling the stock only makes it official.
bardolf,
Last time I bought stock I put in a bid to purchase x number of shares at y amount with a limit on the range of the trade window–I did not get bent over a table by the government to do what they thought was “brilliant” without any input while violating so many principles of American business at the same time and shortly thereafter. Still went bankrupt once and is circling the bowl for round two.
We, the American People, are never going to get our money back no matter how long we “buy & hold” this “investment.” Obama paid off another crony and we, the People, should get out as quickly as possible and take the current loss.
Kant
I’d stick to the arithmetic if only Clueless and you could make things add up.
You and he are continually lying about the nature of the GM CEO being forced out by the unions. Rick Wagoner was named one of the WORST CEO’s by the business press.
Really?
& when did I proffer anything about Rick Wagoner?
So the new strategy is to change the subject after being caught (yet again)?
“Forced out by the Unions”??
Your misdirection is as laughable as your insight. when you don’t have facts, make something up. Good job, too bad you’re the only one on the planet that believes that nonsense.
Count, take it easy on poor dolf. He was pretty sure he was the only college-type here, and then you came in and rained on his parade. He doesn’t handle competition well, and when you keep correcting his math (did you know he is a Fulbright scholar?) it just eats away at him.
Not to mention you are smart and funny and he is surly and can’t carry a coherent thought from one end of a post to another.
He is peeved about you, and not hesitant to show it, so cut him some slack. He picked a medium-level school in a small city in a small state so he could play Big Fish/Small Pond and quote a lot of Shakespeare and posture as an intellectual, but then he decided to strut his (imaginary) stuff on this blog and you pinned his ears back.
Instead of admitting he is in way over his head here, he just gets snottier and snottier, and more juvenile.
It stings, and he reacts quite predictably, by name-calling.
But I must get under his skin more than you, as he has invented elaborate scenarios about me. And my family.
He’s quite a piece of work.
If the new GM wants to get out from under the U.S. Government ownership then the Management and Board of Directors should authorize the “buy-back” of the outstanding shares at the breakeven price of $54.00 a share.
1.57 billion shares of GM common stock X $54.00/share = $84.78 billion. Maybe they could get Bernanke to suspend buying $40 billion in worthless toxic mortgage-based securities for a couple months and just give the money to GM instead to buy back their worthless stock.
The loss from buying @ $54 and selling @ $24 is $47.1 Billion.
We’d have to buy 4 million Chevy Volts or create 744 Green energy jobs.
Count,
I think the government at Obama’s direction are trying to buy that many Volts. There are government agency’s that have actually bought more Volts than they have employees. Then again, nothing to see here. Move along, move along.
Romney says 47% will vote for Obama no matter what, and the new Gallup daily tracking poll has Obama at (drum-roll please) 47%. Too funny for words.
http://www.gallup.com/poll/157481/majority-say-government-doing.aspx
A majority of Americans (54%) believe the government is trying to do too many things that should be left to individuals and businesses, down from earlier this summer. About half say the government has too much power.
Now 54% + 47% > 100%. Which means there are plenty of moochers who think the government does too much. Most of B4V posters e.g.
baldork
Now 54% + 47% > 100%. Which means there are plenty of moochers who think the government does too much. Most of B4V posters e.g
define moochers,
I define them as GOVERNMENT employees, so including YOU ……..yes you are correct because you post here as well as catspuke and several others MOOCHERS!
Neoconehead
I don’t take a dime of the money you send the IRS. I am a state employee. I know all those levels are confusing for you, but give a listen to Amy and she’ll splain you the constitution/states rights thingee.
OTOH, you get much more out of the government than you ever put in. That’s okay since you put your life on the line in Nam. (Together with GMB, the only posters here that should talk foreign policy).
The rest of the moochers here on B4V, from free land to hard working ancestors to dubiously useful ex-gov employees meh.
baldork
OTOH, you get much more out of the government than you ever put in.
seems YOU are the one needing the tutoring Mooch…..you are still a govt employee,
and states dont take in any federal money?? in education??
REALLY??????? REALLY?????
Like we have ALL said – they are attacking Romney for speaking the truth. Again, too funny for words.
Setting aside the over emotional, personality based aspect of this debate, as argued by cyber and mitch, at the end of the day, the conservative push is to reignite the economy and broaden the tax base, so that everyone contributes to the general fund and everyone supports themselves and is elevated off of the democratic plantation.
I have a dream!
I fear Romney is just as out of touch with the regular folks as DC politicians are when I heard his statement. Just from my observations: I know many more people who collect food stamps who will vote Romney than I know people who collect food stamps who will vote Obama.
However, I know many, many more people who are employed by the state or federal government who will vote for Obama than will vote for Romney. Conversely, I know more people employed by the local govt. who will vote R than who will vote Dem.
I would hope that Romney bends his statement into one where it’s state and federal union workers vs. the rest of us…that is so much more effective than angering the large number of the 47% who are transitional.
He would have been better off focusing on how the 1 in 9 American workers out there who are directly employed by the government seem to have a disproportionate say in how our country is run and it is that 1 in 9 that forms the base for Obama’s support.
: I know many more people who collect food stamps who will vote Romney than I know people who collect food stamps who will vote Obama.
MANY MANY….some how I sensed that
Mindless drones, like cyber and mitchie, fell for the carefully timed distraction released by the obAMATEUR campaign to deflect the discussion away from another one of his failures in foreign policy.
ObAMATEUR dropped the ball and failed to strengthen or secure our embassies and their personnel. You drones held Bush for 9/11 by a very vague memo Ina security brief. ObAMATEUR failed to attend secuirty brief and you pathetically and predictably give him a pass.
ObAMATEUR is not “bad” because of our posts and positions – it is because he is a failure by his own actions or lack of actions.
But what you don’t see, and what you won’t see, is a single calm and rational assessment of an actual Romney policy plan.
These are Ama’s words. Where, oh esteemed constitutional expert, IS an actual Romney policy plan? Is it hidden under your bed? Or in a barn somewhere? Because neither he nor his running mate have bothered to offer any details other than to say that they have to to be elected before they can share the specifics. It’s interesting that anything you disagree with is “a lie”. In your mind, they have to be because facing the truth is so much more difficult for you. Romney is without position. He contradicts himself; sometimes from one sentence to another. Personally, I think that his awkwardness and his ability to insult people (the English for example) is a form of Aspergers which also might account for his craven pandering. But in your mind, all of the polling data are “lies” all of the criticism coming from the right directed towards him are “lies” and generally anything that describes the obvious are “lies”. If Obama wins, it is a foregone conclusion that this blog will claim that he won only through deceit and manipulation and if a miracle occurs and Romney wins, it is the will of the people.
And speaking of lying, why does Ryan continue to lie about his physical prowess? Yesterday he made a claim that his BFI was the same as an olympic athlete. Previously he lied about his marathon time. If someone lies about some trivial issue, what else do they lie about. This is especially troubling because IF he had run this marathon in the time he claimed, he never would have forgotten such a great accomplishment. But no matter, the odds are not in favor of him wining this marathon. Looks like his run as a congressperson (guess he too isn’t to confident) isn’t going well either. Must be humiliating when the President wins your home state.
Conservative governors won Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Wisconsin (twice) in 2010. Must be humiliating when Obama’s agenda is so thoroughly defeated in blue states.
Can’t wait until November. See you then sport.

Top 10 Percent of Earners Paid 71 Percent of Federal Income Taxes
Top earners are the target for new tax increases, but the federal income tax system is already highly progressive.
The top 10 percent of income earners paid 71 percent of all federal income taxes in 2009 though they earned 43 percent of all income.
The bottom 50 percent paid 2 percent of income taxes but earned 13 percent of total income. About half of tax filers paid no federal income tax at all.

how about a national sales tax where *********ALL PAY************ and ALL pay the SAME RATE
buy more, pay more
buy lots more, pay lots more
abolish the IRS and save HUNDREDS of BILLIONS.
that way illegals, ho’s, and democrats (same as #2) all get to pay their “fair share”
A President is the President of all Americans, not just a few. A difference between Obama and Romney, is that Obama has made an effort to appeal to those who do not hold him in good favor. Romney could care less and to further alienate those folks, he claims they are leeches. The irony is, a large percentage of those 47% are likely Romney voters. Whites are the largest ethnic group receiving some form of government assistance. Red states have the highest percentages of divorce, teenage pregnancy, domestic violence and dependence on the Fed for monetary relief. Imagine that! Oh, and then there is this lie, published in the communist on-line.

Man you are liberal morons are desperate. But when the economy sucks, blue states are turning against you and electing conservatives, gas is at $4/gallon and the middle east is burning Obama in effigy, I suppose you don’t have too much to talk about.
Good luck with all that.

the kenyan muslim , Manchurian, usurper is NOT my president…he is a FRAUD, I do not acknowledge him of anything but a dope head foreign student.
Please, PLEASE provide evidence that your delusion has a factual basis. Please. How; exactly, is he a usurper? Was there massive voter fraud 4 yrs ago? I believe the % is something like .000004. You claim he is a Kenyan. How then, can he be from Manchuria as well? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchuria
I won’t even bother with the Muslim nonsense. But I’d sure like to smoke a joint with him!
I bet you would SMOKE a “joint” with him….LOL

But not so fast. You don’t get to take all the Blue States with you–just the Blue parts.
We hate to break it to you, but your Blue States aren’t actually “blue.” Mostly, they’re states full of Red counties with pockets of Blue urban blight in them, who vote Democratic in such numbers that if the same results came out of a Third World country—which, come to think of it, many of the “Blue” counties pretty much are—we’d think it was fraud and send some election observers from the UN.
Even California is pretty much a Red State: Bush won 35 out of 58 counties, while Kerry won LA and San Francisco. You want ’em? we certainly won’t fight you for them but you’re going to have to found New California without 35 of your most beautiful counties and your second-largest city. Sorry about that.
Nationally, Bush won over 2.5 million square miles of U.S. counties (and an extra three and a half million votes, but we won’t rub that in.) Kerry won less than 600,000 square miles–meaning that in most states he was popular downtown and pretty much nowhere else. In other words, your guy won the places that people like him would get shot if he walked through them at night. Our guy won every place else.

Neocon1 I hate to break this to you but counties don’t matter, votes do. You can win all the landmass you want but if you lose Miami, Toledo, Cleveland, NYC, LA, Philadelphia, Chicago, KC, St Louis and so on you will lose. Do the words sparsely populated ring a bell? You are simply too dense to face facts your guy who isn’t even your guy is done. Twenty minutes after Obama is declared the winner you’ll be droning on about “I never liked Romney.”
Neocon1 Read it and weep brother . . .

So the only way Obama can win is to cheat? Laughable! Do you even realize how narrowminded you are? If you loathe this man so, why don’t you pack up and take your family to some fairer shore? Oh, that’s right America is STILL the wealthiest nation in the world with Obama as President.

I was an American before Ochimpy was a kenyan, muslim, commie, or usurper….maybe HE should go back to kenya or indonesia where they will love him.
Glad to see you as a Jew and donk love the HATE they heap on you and your Religion….
Germany right before hitler and you freddy are cheering him on, I can see you standing next to wright, farracan, and the muslim brotherhood waving the black flag and cheering how you are going to get all those rotten conservatives………ENJOY pal you will be FIRST in line…..
freddie the forker: “So the only way Obama can win is to cheat?”
Oh, yeah, he doesn’t have to cheat, just LIE, ATTACK and OBFUSCATE!. He can’t run on his record. He said it himself in the last election (speaking of McCain): “If You Don’t Have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone to run from”.
Oh, yeah Virginia is a lock for obAMATEUR. That why I have seen 3 Obama ads in less than 2 minutes in prime time.
Get real forker. Go back to driving your cab. Pretending to be a journalist of some fake newspaper in the land of make believe makes you real credible. At least as a cab driver you are somewhat useful, a step below fry cook.

Just a Blogger, your welcome, but I’m confused by your comment. Why do you feel dirty, and what, exactly is a non-Wilsonian Conservative?
