Here is a list of unkept promises from other State of the Union addresses…. some realistic, some fantasy, most he did not even try and most are what the low information voter, “progressive” drones wanted to hear.

———-
We can confidently say that this pResident is INCOMPETENT and a FAILURE.
Update: We have a reason why obame has failed in keeping his promises, from the loony left. The reasons are, “it’s because he’s black and the evil GOP wants him to fail.” Wow, talk about regurgitating dumbed down talking points. So, if the GOP was so effective at stopping obame’s agenda, where did cappy’s “success” list come from? Also, when his own party opposed him on some issues, were they being racist also?
So when obame and his party had control of both houses before 2011, what is the excuse for not keeping those promises in 2009 and 2010? Plus for 2011 till present, why not sign more Executive Orders?
Thanks for the White House Press Release – but, it’s all bull.
Just to burst one of your sycophantic bubbles, we get 4% of our energy from wind – 39% from coal.
Wow….. Nice list cappy, kool-aid anyone? I see you posted the dumbed down talking points playbook.
Fiscal responsibility? Try $8 trillion in new debt.
Beefed up border security?
It’s hard to type and laugh at the same time.
The SOTU last night was the most partisan, contemptible speech ever delivered by a sitting President that I can remember. When Clinton proclaimed that the “era of big government was over’, he was recognizing the voters message delivered in the mid terms and was showing a maturity and willingness to work with the GOP. Obama has zero regard for those who oppose him and has obviously made the decision to go full speed ahead on his partisan, tax and spend, big government, wealth redistribution agenda.
cappy the mindless drone: “Perhaps you would like to mention what he has done.”
OK….
1) Numerous executive orders going around Congress and exceeding his Constitutional authority.
2) Outspent Bush’s eight years in just under four.
3) Attacked a sovereign nation when it did not attack us – drones predictably silent.
4) Lost Iraq to ISIS.
5) Made health care, premiums and deductibles more expensive, while issuing executive orders to delay the employer mandate till after the election.
6) Took credit for lowering gasoline and oil prices when his policies did nothing.
7) Expanded and accelerated domestic spying – something liberals were aggressively opposed to when Bush “tapped” outgoing calls to foreign individuals.
I could keep going but anything posted will fall on deaf ears of those who worship at the feet of obame.
Liberals like Obama have turned this country into just one big daycare. It’s embarrassing how they view America and Americans. Average, hard working Americans don’t need them, nor do we even want them, and that was made clear last November. Had Americans wanted the Obama agenda to continue, they would have kept Democrats in office.
The pResident said “I am not on the ballot, by my policies are.”. As you said, the American people spoke in November. Many die hard Democrat states lost Reps, Senators and even Governors. Those up for election ran from obame – too little too late.
Drones like watty, cappy and mitchie can live in denial. They want to point out specific poll results for legislation they want, but will ignore other polls (for example, majority of Americans are against obamaCare) and pretend they are meaningless. At the same time they buy into the spin and lies that obame is in a position of advantage regardless of the results from November.
I really do not want to waste any more time reading through Casper’s diatribe of talking points because most of the few that I did read fall under “lies, damn lies and statistics” grouping inside of President Obama’s Fantasyland SOTU speech last night.
Easiest to have corrected, even without an Executive Order, was the equal pay for equal work promise. We know how evil all non-conformist are; nevertheless six years into his Presidency–he still discriminates, or is it “Making a WAR on Women” about pay within the White house–more than 15% difference. Must have missed his attention with all on his mind–like his handicap and which course is next.
Mitchie is not even worth a response.
I usually ignore casper’s vapidity, his forays into utter silliness, but in this case he went so far into fantasyland that he opened the door to some pertinent commentary about his beloved Barry.
The list, as we all know, is nothing but a lengthy collection of claims ranging from simply stupid to surreal, with plenty of emphasis on sexual matters. But some of the claims stood out because they offered such opportunity to point out that the Loony Left (among whom poor cappy is one of the looniest) really has no relationship with reality. They show how impressed these dolts are with fluff, with empty words like “oversaw” and “designed”, and how indifferent they are to actual results.
Within his first week, he signed an Executive Order ordering an audit of government contracts, and combating waste and abuse.
Signing is one thing—doing is something else entirely. How many audits have been done? With what results? How much potential waste discovered and headed off? Or is it enough to just pay lip service to it?
Created the post of Chief Performance Officer, whose job it is to make operations more efficient to save the federal government money.
See above. What operations have been made more efficient? How much money has been saved? Or is this just another “job created”?
On his first full day, he froze White House salaries.
Still frozen? Or just for the women?
He appointed the first Federal Chief Information Officer to oversee federal IT spending
And he obviously did a hell of a job—see the nearly one billion dollar contract awarded to old buddies of Michelle for the Obamacare website, which never worked, which was a mess, which had no oversight or normal periodic reviews—-and for which no refund was ever made to the US taxpayer. But, on the bright side, it WAS another job created.
Through an executive order, he created the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform
Goody goody—another agency, more jobs “created”, more taxpayer money spent. What has this commission accomplished? What additional fiscal responsibility has been achieved? What reforms have been put in place?
Oversaw the creation of more jobs in 2010 alone than Bush did in eight years
Hmmm. I wonder about what he DID, exactly, in this “overseeing”. Yet the percentage of Americans participating in the labor force has dropped
Along with Democrats, and almost no Republicans, implemented an auto industry rescue plan, and saved as many as 1 million jobs. Many are of the opinion that he saved the entire auto industry, and even the economy of the entire Midwest.
“Many” being the operative word in the second sentence. Define “many”. This hyperbole is disproved by the simple fact that Ford did not line up at the government trough, solved its own problems, and became profitable long before GM did, at no cost to the taxpayer. The whole alleged “rescue plan” was so rife with corruption, political maneuvering, fraud and waste it is amazing that anyone is still touting it as a success.
Doubled funding for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership, which is designed to improve manufacturing efficiency
“Designed to…” Did it? How effective was it. How much did it cost? What was the rate of return?
Signed the Democratic-sponsored Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) Act, which was designed to protect consumers from unfair and deceptive credit card practices
“Designed to…” Did it?
He created the Making Home Affordable home refinancing plan
HE did, did HE? All by himself? Better check that out with Wikipedia, where it says: The Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) was created by the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Goody goody, another agency.
Took steps to improve minority access to capital
Took steps. Sooo impressive. What steps? What was accomplished?
Used recovered TARP money to fund programs at local housing finance agencies in California, Florida, Nevada, Arizona and Michigan
Wow—more churning of taxpayer money touted as a success. From HuffPo:
“But 48 percent of the banks that have repaid the CPP used money they’d gotten from other federal programs, according to the GAO report. Those programs include the Community Development Capital Initiative — another TARP program — and the Small Business Lending Fund, a program designed to encourage lending to small businesses. Both of those programs have more favorable borrowing terms for the banks than the original CPP.
This isn’t a new issue — The Wall Street Journal reported last October that banks were repaying TARP funds with cash earmarked for small-business loans, after the Independent Community Bankers of America lobbied for the ability to switch money “from one Treasury program to the other.” “
Brought Much-Improved Transparency and Better Government
I don’t think even casper could say this with a straight face. It is too surreal to even try to dissect.
Signed an order banning anyone from working in an agency they had lobbied in previous years, and put strict limits on lobbyists’ access to the White House.
This is another howler. It only took a few weeks to learn that lobbyists didn’t NEED “access to the White House”—-were just meeting with White House aides and executives at sites away from the White House itself, so there would be no log record of their visits and meetings. (See “Transparency”, above) This is a companion to the touted “Provided the first voluntary disclosure of the White House Visitors Log in history”—-if secret meetings are held outside the White House, the information in the logs isn’t exactly informative, is it?
Ordered 65 executives who took bailout money to cut their own pay until they paid back all bailout money
When you’re the King, you can order citizens to do things like this. According to our Constitution, not so much. But Libs don’t care. And BTW, who enforced this imperial edict? Who followed up on it to make sure it was followed? Oh no, don’t tell me this was just another example of meaningless grandstanding to impress the mouthbreathing yokels! What impressed me about casper including this is that it shows the preference of the Left for dictators and tyrants.
Fashioned rules so that banks can no longer use YOUR money to invest in high-risk financial instruments that work against their own customers’ interests
Gee, he has sure been busy. Guess he “fashioned” these rules between golf games and planning the attack to kill Bin Laden.
Established a Consumer Protection Financial Bureau designed to protect consumers from financial sector excesses.
Great. More government jobs “created”. I am starting to see how he got to that ten million jobs created number. Too bad no one is paying those people but us. I notice that, once again, all that impresses the Left is going through the motions of something, with no attention paid to whether or not anything was accomplished.
Set up rules for banks in handling legal marijuana money
Yeah, I can see why the Choom Gang guy would find this a priority. Well, these rules might be “set up” but Colorado is still trying to deal with the issue, more than a year after the puff piece proclaiming this alleged success. It kinda looks like most of the giddy claims of wonderfulness cappy is swooning over are about as substantial as this one.
Along with Congressional Democrats, advocated for and signed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which made it a federal crime to assault anyone based on his or her sexual orientation or gender identity
And what could make a Loony Lib more thrilled to the very soles of his Birkenstocks than more Thought Police legislation? BTW, it has since come out that Matthew Shepard was not killed because he was gay, but because he was a drug dealer who stole drug money from a supplier, and his killers were not strangers who attacked him because he flirted with them but were involved with him in the Laramie drug world.
At a press conference August 9, 2013, gave up a small measure of executive power, promising to create adversarial process in FISA regarding NSA surveillance
The jokes just keep coming! This president, who has assumed more extra-Constitutional authority than any other (and look that up, teacher—-it doesn’t mean what you probably think it means, but actually means OUTSIDE OF Constitutional authority) is now being praised for, and I will try to type this without breaking into laughter, “..(giving) up a small measure of executive power”. Though, of course, he did no such thing, merely telling some reporters that he was going to do this. Hey, to the LL, saying is the same as doing, right? All they care about is the symbolism. The other hysterical part of this praise is that he also increased NSA surveillance without any oversight at all! Good little parrot, cappy, but do try to develop a sense of shame that might keep you from posting things like this.
Through a Presidential Memorandum, changed the rules to concentrate immigration enforcement on those who commit crimes, and voed (sic) to stop breaking up families.
Weasel words to try to reframe his arbitrary unilateral decision to override legislated laws and simply create his own. But here we have another example of the Left loving the assumption of power in a Central Authority, unfettered by the Constitution.
Helped to restore America’s reputation around the world as a global leader that does the “right thing” in world affairs, at least according to the rest of the world
More rolling on floor in hysterical laughter. There is no part of this that falls short of delusional determination to simply ignore reality. America’s reputation is at an all-time low. Starting with the infantile (and misspelled) “RESET” button, America’s international stature has been in a death spiral since Obama was elected.
Improved relations with Middle East countries by appointing special envoys
And how’s that working out for you, Mr. President? Let’s ask Ambassador Stevens, shall we? And we obviously need copies of the Leftist Dictionary, as their definition of “improved relations” doesn’t relate to anything we can recognize.
Pushed for military to emphasize devlopment (sic) of foreign language skills
Pushing, signing, taking steps, designing—-so many words, so little accomplished
Ended the Iraq War
Again, how’s that working out for you?
Authorized a $1.4 billion reduction in Star Wars program in 2010
A perfect reaction to Iran getting nukes. Hey, if we were to shoot one down over Tulsa, the Middle East might not like us as much as they do now, right?
Through the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), reversed the Bush Administration and committed to no permanent military bases in Iraq
I can’t believe anyone, even a dolt like cappy, can hold this up as a triumph or success of the Obama regime. Evidently he is proof of the adage that if you never pull your head out, the view never changes.
Has repeatedly beefed up border security
Another howler. Does anyone believe that cappy kept a straight face while posting this crap? Even he had to see the insanity.
Ordered and oversaw the Navy SEALS operation that killed Osama bin Laden
Well, no. Not really. As in “not at all”. Whipped into submission by Jarrett, whose control over him outweighed the combined efforts of his advisors including the Secretaries of State and Defense, he waffled and then played golf. They went ahead and authorized the mission and then let him sit in a chair in the corner, in his golf clothes, sulking, while the adults did what needed to be done. Didn’t order the operation. Didn’t oversee the operation. Didn’t have a clue.
Oversaw a $4.6 billion expansion of the Veterans Administration budget to pay for more mental health professionals
Evidently being told to wait for health care till you die is stressful. Good thing those abandoned vets might get some mental health care to help deal with it. Of course, Barry simply “oversaw” this alleged expansion—not quite sure how he did that, or what he did, aside from taking credit for something that may or may not have actually happened.
And so on. There is lots and lots of “overseeing” and so on, but the entire list of alleged successes is a bizarre compound of fantasy, invention, hyperbole and determination to ignore reality. It is interesting only in its level of delusion and its peeks into what the Left really finds admirable, such as the ongoing assumption of power and the superficial fluff of meaningless cotton candy words like “oversaw” and “designed” and “promised” and “pushed for”.
And, of course, there is the thread woven through this whole crazy rant of seething hatred of Bush, Regan, and Republicans in general. It’s creepy, really, to realize that so many people make really important decisions based on nothing more than a toxic brew of spite, malice, and stupidity.
Thank you, casper, for the primer on Loony Leftism and what it manages to identify as its successes. I for one find it very encouraging to see all that you (plural “you”—-I know you lack the intellect to come up with even this kind of dreck on your own) can come up with as bragging rights. “HOORAY FOR US! WE PULLED OUT OF IRAQ, MAKING THE SACRIFICES OF SO MANY PATRIOTIC AMERICANS MEANINGLESS, AND LEAVING A VACUUM QUICKLY FILLED BY PEOPLE INTENT ON KILLING US ALL AND SLAUGHTERING INNOCENTS WE NO LONGER PROTECT! (AND THEN WE GAVE A FEW BILLION DOLLARS AND LOTS OF WEAPONS TO THE PEOPLE INTENT ON KILLING US ALL AND SLAUGHTERING INNOCENTS WE NO LONGER PROTECT!) “
Amazona,
There are two possibilities: either Casper cut and pasted this from a left-wing website without reading it, or he’s more brain-dead than any of us realized.
Update: One possibility is not mutually exclusive of the other.
My dear friend, are you truly trying to set up a false paradigm? That is, that casper is either this or that? We all know casper and his bleatings well enough to understand that he (1) cut and pasted this from a left-wing website without reading it, AND (2) is brain-dead, though only marginally more so than we had realized.
I think the adulation he has reportedly received from the Dark Side has blunted any ability he may have ever had to process information, being admired for not even trying, and here we see a result.
You are spot on, Amazona.
From Clinton to obame, we have seen time and again when it comes to legislation that the proggies are more focused on their INTENTIONS rather than the RESULTS. It doesn’t matter that the GREAT SOCIETY has spent TRILLIONS and have only grown the dependent population but the intention. When it comes to obamacare, they are focused on people getting insurance, it doesn’t matter if they can use it or not (NOT with the outrageous deductibles, for example).
Their INTENTIONS are good, who cares if it gets results.
Oversaw the creation of more jobs in 2010 alone than Bush did in eight years
Hmmm. I wonder about what he DID, exactly, in this “overseeing”. Yet the percentage of Americans participating in the labor force has dropped
Amazona, there’s a really interesting interview at MarketWatch today with liberal U.C. Berkeley economic history professor Barry Eichengreen about the labor participation rate.
