In Congress, July 4th, 1776

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness…

…We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these united Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. — And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.

    Happy Independence Day everyone. Our freedoms continue to erode away, especially if you’re a devout Christian, and you’re in a business that provides a product or service to weddings or you wish to build a house on land that has a puddle on it. Under President Obama America has dropped precipitously on the index of economic freedom, yet more people still want to come here than to any other country, and those who come legally are welcomed by most Americans with open arms. We have a lot of work to do if this country is once again going to become the shining city on the hill, a country where our friends appreciate and respect us and our enemies fear us. So roll up your sleeves, and let’s get to work.

    And God Bless to Donald Trump. He may have stated things more strongly than is politically feasible but he has stuck to his guns and made this debate real. There is no sitting on the fence when Trump is around. Can’t wait for the debates.

    Happy Fourth everyone. We’re still the best country on earth despite what progressives did to our healthcare system:

    The Oregon insurance commissioner, Laura N. Cali, has just approved 2016 rate increases for companies that cover more than 220,000 people. Moda Health Plan, which has the largest enrollment in the state, received a 25 percent increase, and the second-largest plan, LifeWise, received a 33 percent increase.

    Jesse Ellis O’Brien, a health advocate at the Oregon State Public Interest Research Group, said: “Rate increases will be bigger in 2016 than they have been for years and years and will have a profound effect on consumers here. Some may start wondering if insurance is affordable or if it’s worth the money.”

      The rates were only as low as they were because Uncle Sam essentially guaranteed the insurance companies against loss – now that the insurance companies know what the costs are to be under ObamaCare, the are pricing things accordingly as the guarantee against loss comes to an end.

      All Americans except the a$$hole across the road from me who’s been shooting off commercial grade fireworks for nearly 6 hours that have turned my dog into a quivering mass of jelly.

        It’s a little late now but for future, if it is not too late: Our dogs reacted the same way when we took them to a shooting range, till I rewarded every loud noise with a treat. Within a few minutes they looked forward to the bang. Doesn’t work on all dogs though—-I had a terrier mix who saw right through that.

      We can fight and win on that issue. Trump can’t, but the overall GOP…as the Democrats keep saying they want comprehensive immigration reform, just keep repeating endlessly that what is needed is border security…because only someone in favor of criminal gangs and murder can be against immediate border security.
