A bunch of us from our local Oath Keepers chapter are doing something a little different this year. We’re participating in a Memorial Day ceremony at a small country Baptist cemetery later this morning.

God bless the men and women who keep us safe, and especially those who gave their lives doing so.

UPDATE: Well, it turned out to be a really meaningful event, a joint ceremony between local American Legion (which I recently joined) and VFW chapters. The cemetery is one of the oldest and largest of all the rural cemeteries in the area with numerous Civil War and Spanish American War vets’ graves and the oldest date going back to the late 1700’s, a couple decades before Indiana became a state. About 100 people showed up.

Sounds like a wonderful thing – just had some of the folks over today; it was a nice time.
