The Trump vs DeSantis war is heating up – but I do caution that a lot of it does seem to be driven by terminally on-line people looking for social media clout. But there is a worry in that it is getting people not just to stake out positions, but really dig in their heels on it…which is likely orchestrated by Democrats with the intent of getting people to hate the other guy. As I said before: I will support the GOP nominee and I urge everyone to dial it back. From Trump to the most neo-con shill, all GOPers are the moral and intellectual superiors of Democrats. Whatever we get it is better than Pudding Brain or anyone they might replace him with.
Memorial Day is Monday and people are posting a lot of military stuff. This is appropriate but one which popped up for me was not about a man who died in combat, but who did a small deed of decency in the hell of war. It was Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds – taken prisoner during the Battle of the Bulge he was the senior non-com at his POW camp and when the commandant ordered all Jews to identify themselves – likely for at least hideous treatment, if not murder – Edmonds ordered every man to identify as Jewish. The commandant backed down. It was a small thing, as I said. In the grand scheme of things, it at best saved a couple hundred lives out of the millions who perished. But it was still important. And it took some guts. It is easy to look away, after all.
But that then brought me to Yad Vashem and the Righteous Among the Nations: these are gentiles who have been honored by Israel for helping Jews during the Holocaust. It is quite a list of heroes but something rather sticks out for me: that they were all just regular folks. There weren’t highly decorated soldiers who charged into the enemy – these were just people who saw what was going on and did whatever they could, no matter how small, to just throw a wrench in it. And then you realize two things: if every decent person had just thrown a wrench, the Holocaust could never have happened…and since all the wrench-throwers were regular folks with no special, inside knowledge everyone could have been a wrench thrower. They all knew – but most chose not to act on the knowledge. Many out of ideological commitment, of course, but the regular run of people simply because they didn’t want to be bothered.
And so it has been since then – we’ll likely never see the unique evil of the Nazi regime ever again, but we will certainly contend with evil until God in His good time brings it all to an end. Evil does walk the world today – ever more openly. And it is able to do so because most of us, most of the time, are just hoping it passes us by. The drug addicts rotting in the streets. The illegals being abused. The children being groomed. We for the most part pretend we don’t see it – pretend it isn’t happening. Because if we see it, we have to act. So we talk ourselves into believing that we don’t see it.
But, take heart: some times evil is so brazen that it wakes everyone up. And I think we have now reached that point. The Pelosi Democrats knew when to tap the brakes and allow people to continue to not see until it was too late. The modern Democrats are driven by ideological commitment and they are pressing forward on a variety of fronts to implement their evil. And so brazen is the attempt that regular folks can’t miss it…and just here and there but in my view in growing numbers, people are standing up and saying, “I will not participate”. No, none of us will have a chance to be as brave as Edmonds…but we are increasingly brave enough to say out loud that we will not participate. Sure, we still risk social opprobrium and our jobs are at risk…but none of that matters. We see it. We must say it is wrong…and as more of us do so, others gain the courage to stand up and be counted.

I’ve been commenting on this, and have come to think that the entire promise of reparations has been a plot to push irrational black people, already so indoctrinated into hate of whites, into all-out violent war against us.
What would a race war accomplish? Well, there is the rapid escalation of chaos, which is essential to the rise of Leftist control. There is the justification for martial law, and probably justification for canceling the election.
As so far only blacks in some California cities have been promised reparations, the failure to produce them would only directly affect those people. But violent, radicalized, programmed-for-violence black people all across the country could easily be triggered into violent uprising against whites.
Reparations promises feel like the last gasp of a desperate Left, which has seen its other efforts blow up into relatively minor kerfluffles only to be shut down by common sense. They tried class warfare, which has been a staple of Leftism since its inception, and while it’s never died it’s never really had much effect, either. The effort to create conflicts between men and women flared up a little bit with the feminazi movement, but it fizzled out. The subsequent effort to breathe life back into it has had some drama, as the Left started to invent genders they could then pit against each other, but the demographic of that effort is so emotionally and mentally unstable and unsavory and unlikable it has been self-destructing, and the virtue signalers who have been supporting it are now being called out for sexually grooming their own children or mutilating them for approval from the trans mob.
Really, all they’ve got is abortion, and while it’s a volatile topic the voices of the people as more and more states declare with their votes that they find the practice abhorrent are starting to have some effect. Abortions are down, and will probably continue to go down. I think this would happen faster if the Right could figure out way to communicate the fact that most women get over their original panic when not pushed into immediate butchery of their children, and be more effective in promoting pregnancy help centers. So that standby is not going to continue to have the impact it has had.

I have commented on a belief (hope?) that the pendulum is starting to swing back, and I agree that the brazen hubris of the American Left is starting to create pushback. The International Left has always been cold, calculating and understanding the need to play the Long Game. But Americans are too brash, too impatient, and so as the American Left has gained traction it has become cocky and overconfident.
Normal America (as opposed to Protest America, which is a hair trigger just looking for something to give it an excuse to emote) has always tended to just sit back and let things play out. So there hasn’t been a lot of open or organized resistance to the whole gay movement, which is BTW far more political than sexual, and this has let the movement assume more acceptance than it really has, But then the Left started openly coming for our kids, and that started a tectonic shift in attitude.

A few years ago there was a movement to stop the Common Core requirement for high school students to read “The Bluest Eye” because of its blatant and crude sexual content, but efforts to publicize this content were effectively shot down and then shut down. (A pornographically explicit description of a young girls’ genitals and their arousing effect on the viewer, the father getting ready to rape her, was described as necessary for students to “understand the mind of a pedophile” and, alternatively, necessary to understand “the black experience”. But there was never a chance to challenge the legitimacy, much less the sanity, of these claims, and the issue faded away along with the official designation of Common Core, though the essentials remain.)
But a true grass-roots movement began as parents started to challenge school boards (the ruling elite “expert class”) by simply reading aloud the kind of filth those school boards had voted to put in the hands of children. The outcome was explosive, as parents in the audience were finally exposed to what the school boards had been doing, as the board members often just fled in the face of the reactions, even as sometimes police were called in the pretense that this reading aloud was in some way a criminal offense.
The timing of this coincided with the growing awareness (prompted by the growing degeneracy) of the whole drag queen phenomenon, and growing resistance to this, along with growing disdain for the virtue-signaling moms who eagerly participated in this sexual grooming of their children.

Keep the green new deal.
Keep the student loan bailout.

Not put any meaningful caps on discretionary spending until 2025.

I have to say, I am torn on this subject.
I believe we have to have a sturdy and muscular defense which means a sturdy and muscular military. I think these people need to be trained to the fullest, to be able to protect and defend this nation. I understand that such training, involving as it does things that are designed to kill people, is dangerous, and that lives are lost in the training process.
Given that set of convictions, and added to it the belief that with great power comes great responsibility, I believe that much of this training should take place in areas where it can serve both the purpose of providing us with a highly skilled and trained military and that of protecting and defending the helpless and vulnerable.
That would mean searching out monsters.
Not siding with other powerful nations, not searching for power ourselves, but providing a shield for those who can’t protect themselves, The best example I can think of is the Janjaweed in Sudan. Here, brutal gangs slaughter whole villages, and prey upon the weak and vulnerable, even killing medical volunteers there to help the people. We do the virtue signaling of sending aid to Africa and then stand by while it is confiscated by other brutal gangs. Stepping in to control these predators would be excellent training that would actually be productive.
I believe that using situations like these to help train our military would serve multiple purposes: It would provide the kind real-life training that can’t be found in classrooms and organized drills, it would expose our young people to the realities of the world outside our own blessed America, and it would teach our young people that the highest purpose is to help those who need us.
I’m torn on this too but what I have witnessed in the last 60 years leads me to believe that we can not be the worlds hall monitor, and we should stop trying. The Viet Cong were killing their people too, Pol Pot was a legendary monster, Africa has always been in civil war (Think: Rwanda), Muslims continue to kill infidels and brutalize their women, and China is whole another animal onto itself. And despite Americas military strength, there’s very little we can do about any these issues.
IMHO, what we have done in the last 60 years though is neglect America while focusing on those monsters, and that has to stop. The monsters that Americans should worry about are the political and corporate greed monsters who control our everyday way of life, from selling out good paying jobs, pumping our food supply full of unhealthy preservatives, indoctrinating our children in manufactured social issues rather than the STEM skills they need, and encouraging hundreds of thousands of uneducated and unstable foreigners to come to our country. This is what has to stop first, before we focus on other problems. Just think what $113 billion could have done to help the residents of Chicago, Baltimore, Washington DC, etc. Instead that money is in Ukraine … and of course in Democrat campaign coffers.
