So the House will finally start thinking about impeaching Biden. Good.
Now, of course we can’t convict; there is zero chance that 67 Senators will vote to convict Biden no matter what the evidence shows. This, in itself, demonstrates how utterly corrupt our system is…and we can rely on it that at least some GOPers (Mitt Romney, eg) will also vote to acquit come what may (after all, his own son was also involved in Ukraine corruption). But this isn’t about getting a conviction. And, no, it isn’t revenge for Trump. If it is anything, it is to set the marker – to produce a body of work which will be the base-line for rooting out corruption in 2025 and later if we win.
This is why I hope that one of the charges made is failure to see to it that the laws are faithfully enforced. Article II, Section 3: he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed. The President is specifically enjoined by the Constitution to enforce the laws. All the laws all the time. Point blank: he doesn’t even have prosecutorial discretion (and, so, neither do his subordinates from Attorney General on down). There’s nothing in there saying “he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, unless he finds a reason not to”. It is just, “he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed”. The end. Doesn’t matter if its bad law or stupid law or law that no longer serves its purpose – if it is enacted by Congress and hasn’t been repealed or ruled unconstitutional, it is the law and the President shall take care that it is faithfully enforced until such time as it is repealed or ruled unconstitutional.
Why is this important? Because the President has allowed people to skate – all Presidents have to one extent or another, but under Biden it is on steroids. This is why Hunter is skating…but, more importantly, so are large numbers of people who should be facing massive jail time. Once again, not asserting the laws they would fall under are good or that we shouldn’t repeal/modify them, but they are the laws. The most egregious cases are the permitting of illegals to cross our border with impunity and allowing Antifa/BLM rioters to skate. Pudding Brain’s job is to enforce the laws and he has refused to do it in direct violation of the oath he took. All the rest of it is important, but nothing is more crucial than this: the law must be enforced. Tied in with this is the selective and cruel prosecutions of the J6 people and Team Trump…things that other people are allowed to walk on are being used to send J6 people to jail for long sentences…and they are proposing long sentences for Trump and his people on ridiculous charges no Democrat would ever face.
To get back to rule of law we must first punish those charged with enforcing the law who failed their duty. We can’t actually punish Biden, but if we can make the case and use it as a basis for prosecutions down the road, we’ll be on the path back to law.
The MSM – on orders – is calling the impeachment inquiry “without evidence”. This lie isn’t meant for you. It is meant for Democrats who still consume MSM product and so haven’t heard of the evidence. This is designed to make sure they don’t get curious about it.
Inflation rate is rising again.
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are anti-Catholic bigots. But they are also pervs. Really, really pervy.
There is so much evidence of serious crimes, if the GOP House members in charge of the impeachment inquiry are smart, they’ll dribble it out a little at a time for the next year. There no law that says the inquiry has to proceed rapidly. From everything I’ve heard and read in the last day or two, the evidence the Dems are really concerned about are the bank records. Drug cartels may be able to hide $30 million, but I don’t think the Biden family can.
I like that tactic … it’s what they did to Trump which was so effective, and of course the difference is that the damning information on Biden is all true and verifiable. And that’s what has the Democrats and the Deep State in such a panic. I have to think it’s been a really bad couple days at the White House.
When the Deep State wants their message out, they go to Saint David Ignatius, and yesterday he laid down the gauntlet.
Washington Post’s David Ignatius appeared on MSNBC to discuss his latest column where he wrote President Biden should not seek a second term and that his legacy will be that he is the person who stopped Trump in 2020. Ignatius also argued that Biden should have “resisted” Kamala Harris as the choice for Vice President.
This tells us right here that the evidence against Biden not only threatens his Presidency, but it may threaten and expose the FBI, CIA, etc., and that’s the real crime. The green light has been given to the agenda media that it’s time to take down Biden, the interesting thing is … I don’t think Biden or Kamala are going anywhere without a fight. They are both ego maniacs surrounded by yes people, and they actually do think they’re doing a good job so why step down?? 2024 will be the funnest, and most consequential election in my lifetime. Pass the popcorn.

WTF is this??
Sarah Ashton-Cirillo, a U.S. transgender soldier serving as an English-speaking spokesperson for Ukraine, issued a stark warning against Russian propagandists who are criticizing the Ukrainian government.
Ukraine needs to go away. A long ways a way. They are Nazi’s, they are corrupt, they are women abusers, and now they are just useful idiots in Americas social engineering experiments. NO MORE MONEY.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/09/ukraines-transgender-spokesperson-issues-stark-warning-russian-propagandists/
My takeaway from this had nothing to do with Ukraine and everything to do with the fact that the internet enables sheer lunacy and anonymous attacks.
This man claims to be a spokesperson for Ukraine. Really? Who appointed him? As for the pretense of being a woman, nonsense, just more evidence of lunacy. He has tried to get a journalist killed, may have succeeded, and laughs about it. The internet, with all its benefits, is also a magnet for the most hostile and malignant among us.
It’s going to be interesting to see how badly the power players in the Democrat Party don’t want the evidence of Biden corruption that doesn’t exist exposed.
RFK Jr. Hints at Third-Party Run Because of DNC Primary Rigging
Of course it’s rigged. For anyone watching what the swamp does these days, this is nothing new. And I believe, RFK running on a different party platform would be awesome as it would dilute the demoncrat vote far more the republican vote.

The DNC Super Delegate scam guarantees that a handful of elites make all the decisions for the party. But when your party is based on consolidation of power in the hands of a few, what else can you expect?
Democrat in High-Stakes Va. Legislature Race Posted Sex Acts on Porno Site
The videos show GIbson and her husband, John David Gibson, having sex and at times looking into the camera and asking viewers for donations in the form of “tokens” or “tips” to watch a private show.
Strange way for political fund raising but considering she a demoncrat…
Gibson called the exposure of the videos “the worst gutter politics.”
Comical. Does she actually watch the news? What the left is doing to Trump is far worse by a magnitude of 10,000. And as for exposure… she makes it sound like someone else is responsible for this being on the internet. Typical leftist, blame others for your own actions.
Gibson said that exposing the videos was “an illegal invasion of my privacy designed to humiliate me and my family.”
Gibson’s attorney, Daniel P. Watkins, said that disseminating the videos was a violation of Virginia’s revenge porn law, which makes it a crime to “maliciously” disseminate or sell nude or sexual images of another person with the intent to “coerce, harass, or intimidate.”
How about, with the intent to inform? Can a person use a publicly available internet video to help inform voters of their opponent’s actions? She’s a poster child for how to self-inflict. This is the kind of lack-of-intelligence we don’t need in ANY political positions.
https://headlineusa.com/democrat-va-post-sex-acts-porn-site/?utm_source=HUSA_EMAIL_NSP2000&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=HUSAemail
So typical of Leftist “thinking”—post salacious material on a public site and then whine and try to run to the courts when it is reposted on another public site.
Whoever reposted the video ought to explain it was just done to expand their market and help them get more “tokens”.
Funny how public sex for money isn’t “gutter” but exposing it is.
Funny how public sex for money isn’t “gutter” but exposing it is.
And it is almost exclusively a Leftwing paradigm (publicly posted sexually related material, not exposing it).
This goes back to a couple of earlier posts where you and I discussed the ideological identity of those promoting things like sexualization of children. It is unlikely that any of the mothers taking their children to watch adult men dressed as insulting stereotypes of vulgar women acting out sex play and flaunting their genital areas are conservatives. It’s a pretty good guess that the parade-goers taking their children watch naked or near-naked adults engaging in deviant sex acts in public are also Democrats. The desperate fight to put and keep sexually graphic material in grade school libraries is fought by Leftists.
This reminds me of a funny Ann Coulter column about how most conservative “sex scandals” involve people who did not really have sex. One was the congressman publicly pilloried for the allegedly sexual act of tapping his toes on the floor while in the privacy of an airport bathroom stall and one was about the claim that Senator Jack Ryan asked his wife to have group sex (and she said no.) What was so interesting about these non-sexual sex “scandals” is that they appeared to be constructed to drive the principles out of office. The Ryan incident, in particular, was an example of chicanery. His ex-wife had put her account of an alleged visit to a sex club where she was asked to participate, but did not, in a sealed court file regarding a child custody case. But when newcomer Barack Obama was running for the Senate, this “sealed” and “confidential” report was suddenly, mysteriously, made very public in a typical October Surprise, too late in the campaign for Ryan to recover, giving us Senator Obama, fresh from the living room of domestic terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn.
Lefties huff and puff and drag out what they think are relevant “whatabouts” which are usually at least partly lies. The favorite of sexually abusive priests is a good example. No, the Church is not and never has been a haven for “pedophiles” but the imagery of that is one of dirty old men abusing young girls. In fact, the Church did become a haven for sexual predators, but only after Vatican Two, when it opened its seminaries to homosexuals. Suddenly the Church was sending predatory young gay men into parishes where they preyed upon post-pubescent boys and young men. The homosexual aspect bumps up against the Left’s advocacy of homosexuality, so the narrative is tweaked to implicate straight men, with the added spice of the claim of abuse of pre-pubescent girls. When the scope of the abuse became more obvious, and younger clergy emerged who were more comfortable admitting to the homosexual aspect of the abuse, the Church started to crack down on the abusers and admit to the wrongs being done. But to this day, the Leftist narrative ducks the homosexual aspect of the abuse and clings to the general but false narrative of “sexual abuse” and its implied molestation of little girls by dirty old men. The narrative always refers to “children” and “pedophilia”. No, it was molestation of boys by dirty young men, for the most part, who only became accepted as priests due to the growing influence of the Left on the Church.
And the Church, when it tried to cover up these unforgivable predations, did not do so to tacitly approve of them. At that time the elders of the Church were older men whose focus was on protecting the Church above all else, who failed to understand the scope of the problem and who sought to control it by doing things like moving the predatory homosexual priests to different parishes in the belief that the episodes were due to attraction to specific boys in one parish. They were foolish, they were naïve, and in some cases criminally indifferent to the suffering of the victims, but the problem was never of the size or scope attributed to it by the State media. And literally no one in the Church—not parishioners, not priests, not bishops, not the Pope—ever conveyed any degree of acceptance or approval of these acts. Ever. The mistakes lay in the naïve belief that the problems were isolated and could be dealt with within the boundaries of Church discipline. But the acts were condemned, by everyone in the entire Church hierarchy, from parish priests to the Vatican.
As you pointed out, when Republicans get caught in sexual hijinks the party does not rush to their defense. It’s impossible to imagine a Republican who married her brother to commit immigration fraud being staunchly defended by the party and consistently reelected, as one example.
For an example of how Dems view public sex and prostitution (as taking money for sex is prostitution even if the payer is merely observing):
The leader of the Virginia Senate, Democrat L. Louis Lucas, said the behavior by Gibson was all the more reason to give her money —
State House Candidate in Virginia Condemns Leak of Sex Tapes
There’s water pouring out of the sink faucet that I just twisted all the way open. It must have a leak. The president just went on the record in front of TV cameras about a conversation he had with his Secretary of State. There must be a leaker in the White House. A Democrat candidate for the Virginia statehouse took cash tips to perform sex acts on the internet with her husband, and people have seen it. Somebody must have leaked the video.
This Presidency is becoming a Saturday Night Live skit …
Biden, at 80, the nation’s oldest-ever president, was speaking at Prince George Community College in Maryland Thursday. He raised eyebrows by saying: ‘I taught at the University of Pennsylvania for four years and I used to teach political theory. And folks, you always hear, every generation has to fight for democracy.’ While Biden did serve from 2017 to 2019 as the Benjamin Franklin Presidential Professor of the Practice, there is no record of him teaching classes. In recent weeks, Biden has also falsely claimed he was at Ground Zero the morning after the 9/11 terror attacks, that he witnessed a Pittsburgh bridge collapse and that his grandfather died days before his birth.
I wonder what’s going to happen today hahahahahahahahahaha
It’s probably going to be less about what happens today and a version of what happened in the past:
“I used to drive an 18-wheeler, man”
A conversation during his vice presidency with an old friend, an Amtrak train conductor, that could not possibly have happened because the man was dead at the time.
He claimed he had been arrested during a civil rights protest
He claimed claimed that late Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir had invited him to meet with her during the Six-Day War of 1967 (he actually met with her weeks before the Yom Kippur War six years later) and that she had wanted him to be “the liaison between she and the Egyptians about the Suez, and so on and so forth.” (There is zero evidence Meir ever wanted to use a 30-year-old rookie US senator as a “liaison” with a major adversary.)
And the latest Hunter Biden spin begins:
DOJ Finally Grows A Conscience, Does The Right Thing
Yes, folks, the DOJ wasn’t pressured by intense and growing outrage at its refusal to address the many crimes of Hunter and his family—it just GOT A CONSCIENCE. That’s why it picked the most minor of all the offenses attributed to Hunter to prosecute.
What is funny is that now it looks like the Hunter Biden defense will be a defense of the Second Amendment and its absolute right to own and carry weapons. It looks like they will challenge the provisions restricting gun ownership from felons and demanding certain criteria in applying for gun purchases.
That will be fun, as it will outrage and alienate the entire gun control lobby and contradict the demands for ever-increasing restrictions on our Second Amendment rights.
This hard on the heels of the other tiger the Left has by the tail, that of how to get rid of its First Black Woman Vice President-To-Be-President without alienating black voters and women.
And then there is RFK Jr. ramping up his challenge to the Dem power elites.
I’m going to need more popcorn………….
Given the judge’s reluctance to grant the plea deal, Weiss simply had to charge Biden with something, and the gun charge was the least dangerous to either Hunter or Joe Biden. My guess is that there will be a plea deal covering the gun charge, giving Hunter community service or a suspended sentence, and that will be that.
The crimes for which Hunter should be charged are financial and failing to register as a foreign agent. The gun crime, while it clearly should be prosecuted in the same manner as is done with anybody else (and still won’t be), has no national significance and certainly wouldn’t warrant years of investigation. He is clearly guilty. He should be prosecuted as any private citizen would, and if he were anybody else that would be that. Happens daily.
And, as Ed points out, Hunter may totally skate on these charges in any case. There is a strong argument that the diversion agreement is still in force since a judge didn’t have to approve diversion agreements in any case.
In fact, it’s not entirely clear that this will go to trial at all. Expect Hunter’s legal team to demand that the court restore the diversion agreement:
Hunter Biden’s attorney Abbe Lowell previously said that the earlier gun deal with prosecutors “prevents any additional charges from being filed” and that his client “has been abiding by the conditions of release under that agreement.” Prosecutors say that deal never went into force.
That could be a bigger problem for Weiss than it looks, since diversion agreements don’t usually require courts to finalize. If Weiss agreed to it and Hunter didn’t violate its terms afterward, a court might be inclined toward sympathy for Lowell’s position here. And one has to wonder if that’s not what Weiss is counting on in filing this indictment, as a way to cover his own ass after attempting to bail out the Bidens over the last five years.
The charges that matter and from which Hunter Biden has been shielded the most are those that go to his influence peddling, improper access to government, action as a foreign agent while traveling with the president, sharing his income with his father and family during Biden’s Vice Presidency, and the evidence that they provide that Joe Biden has sold out the country for money.
Former Neil Gorsuch Law Clerk: ‘Don’t Be Fooled’ By These Hunter Biden Indictments
I’ve just witnessed the biggest disconnect in American politics. The NY Democrat representatives are speaking in front of the Roosevelt hotel on their desire to welcome and support illegal immigration while their own constituents are shouting them down. Democrats are actively governing against Americans. I also want to everyone notice how often Democrats use the word “fight” … well let’s give them that fight.
Here’s somebody who isn’t afraid to use the word. From Governor DeSantis, on willingness to kill cartel members invading the country.
“The reality is, they are overrunning our border, they’re sex trafficking, they’re human trafficking and they’re bringing in massive quantities of drugs,” he said. “I mean, our country is being invaded and hurt by what they’re doing. And the question is, do we just throw up our hands? And do we say there’s nothing we can do about it? Or does the leader take action? Because I’ll tell you this, I’m going to have the military at the border, 100%. I mean, if they’re trying to break through the wall, we will have deadly force authorized to be able to stop that.”
America is literally falling apart and we all need to directly blame people like Forty, fielding, and Casper. Do you whatever you have to do to make Democrat voters lives uncomfortable. This is all their fault.
But we need to make them not exist. If they don’t exist, they won’t be a problem to anyone. Won’t have to worry about all their bs anymore.
Which “them” and how do you “make them not exist”?
Katherine Richardson, a professor in biological oceanography at the University of Copenhagen….. pointed to the unprecedented summer of extreme weather the world has just experienced at 1.2 degrees Celsius of global warming.
“We didn’t think it was going to be like this at 1 degree [Celsius]” she said.
“No human has experienced the conditions that we’re experiencing right now,” she added.

We might be running out of ways to be “racist”, but not to worry—there are still many categories of “privilege” to mine. The latest seems to be “family privilege“. (But there is still an element of racism in this, too, of course.)
Like White privilege, family privilege is an unacknowledged and unearned benefit instantiated in U.S. laws, policies, and practices and bestowed upon traditional or “standard” nuclear families to the disadvantage of non-traditional configured family systems (e.g., sole-parent families, unmarried committed partners rearing children together, grandparents raising grandchildren). Family privilege is defined as the benefits, often invisible and unacknowledged, that one receives by belonging to family systems long upheld in society as superior to all others. It serves to advantage certain family forms over others and is typically bestowed upon White, traditional nuclear families.
These people must be exhausted by their relentless search for things to find outrageous, offensive, discriminatory, etc. But every now and then even a Progressive has to admit to the obvious:
NY Times opinion columnist Nikolas Kristof wrote an interesting piece yesterday highlighting something that is undeniably true but which we doesn’t get talked about anymore. Children who grow up with two-parents do significantly better in life. Kristof also takes on the reason why liberals don’t want to talk about this:
Families headed by single mothers are five times as likely to live in poverty as married-couple families.
Children in single-mother homes are less likely to graduate from high school or earn a college degree. They are more likely to become single parents themselves, perpetuating the cycle.
Almost 30 percent of American children now live with a single parent or with no parent at all. One reason for the sensitivities is large racial disparities: Single parenting is less common in white and Asian households, but only 38 percent of Black children live with married parents.
His column was prompted by a forthcoming book titled “The Two-Parent Privilege” by economist Melissa Kearney:
“The data present some uncomfortable realities,” writes Melissa S. Kearney, an economist at the University of Maryland, in an important book on this topic to be published next week. “Two-parent families are beneficial for children,” she adds. “Places that have more two-parent families have higher rates of upward mobility. Not talking about these facts is counterproductive.”

Sounds like Conservatives are beginning to get the hang of the Alinsky tactic of ridicule.
I’ve been arguing for many years now that ridicule is a powerful tool we should use more often, and I’m glad to see it being used now. I’d like it to be more mainstream, coming from someone other than Senator Kennedy, but maybe it will catch on in places other than “X” and comments sections.
This should be the core of every conservative campaign next year and from then on:
“You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves. – William J. H. Boetcker
Good words to live by.
GOP Rep Calls for Impeachment Inquiry After Biden Energy Secretary Granholm Lies Under Oath
Yes! We need impeachment hearings that have teeth and are not merely vehicles for educating the public about the crimes of the Bidens. Don’t get me wrong—-I am completely for doing that. And perhaps the impeachment process can be effectively bastardized to do that instead of what it was created to do, which was provide consequences and accountability for people in office.
We know that impeaching Biden won’t do a thing to impose either accountability or consequences for his illegal actions, and will merely provide a vehicle for getting that information past the gatekeepers of the Agenda Media. And that is fine, as long as we understand the inherent limitations of the process as applied to Biden.
But there is quite a list of officials who can, and should, be impeached for their various wrongdoings. I’d start with Garland, and Mayorkas, and certainly Granholm is a candidate. Bootyjuice could be impeached for incompetence. Wray ought to be investigated. Look at all the administration officials who have lied under oath. Look at the abuses of State power and persecution of Trump supporters under color of law, and impeach those people. These are people for whom impeachment would have an actual impact, not just symbolism of being staunch defenders of right, blah blah blah.

Electric cars and digital currency. What could go wrong?
Don’t forget the surveillance technology
George Orwell is smiling.
Just as the Left sanitized the phrase “Big Brother” so it longer means sinister surveillance of every moment but just a silly bunch of silly people being silly, as it sanitized the word “gulag” by making it a stage in a video game achieved by skill, as it refers to the butchered body of an aborted baby as mere “product of conception”, as the leftist construct of fascism is routinely applied to an Invented Other the Left calls the Right, the Left twists, distorts and redefines our language until it is meaningless. So when we talk of Orwell we talk of the dangers of government surveillance and control, but to younger people it is just a meaningless name.
Heck, they are now in the process of re-writing 1984 to make it Woke. Guarantee that the enemy will no longer be the Thought Police.
That’s the weirdest thing I ever heard. It’s like rewriting the Bible to make Satan the savior. They are so stupid they don’t even realize that changing it will mean it’s a different book. Duh.
I think it was Carville and the Clintons who said, “control the language, control the narrative”, and Democrats have been doing that ever since.
I’ve been saying that for years, long before Clinton or Carville, and I think it came from some Communist treatise. Or maybe just from observation.
Laugh for the day.
Here’s a statement from the Mayor of Chicago, heartwarming isn’t it? And you know leaders in Chicago have done such a remarkable job the last 20 years that I look forward to seeing government grocery stores serving the needs of the proletariat. It’s amazing how much they care.
All Chicagoans deserve to live near convenient, affordable, healthy grocery options. We know access to grocery stores is already a challenge for many residents, especially on the South and West sides. A better, stronger, safer future is one where our youth and our communities have access to the tools and resources they need to thrive. My administration is committed to advancing innovative, whole-of-government approaches to address these inequities.
They also deserve to be able to sleep in their own beds without worrying that gunfire will penetrate their walls and kill them, and to be able to walk on the streets, day or night, in safety. They also deserve to live in a city where law enforcement captures, jails and prosecutes criminals.
Chicago had grocery stores, until horrible Leftist governance enabled thugs and villains to destroy them. Control the thugs and villains and the market will reopen those grocery stores.
The job of government is to protect citizens. Period. When this is done, citizens find their own solutions to their problems. “Whole-of-government approaches” is the same kind of weasel-wording I recently found in a novel I quickly discarded when the remains of an aborted baby were described as “the product of conception”.
Well this was their goal, allow crime to become so unacceptable and fear so widespread, that the government can then come in and “keep the people safe”.
We can not restore the country until we restore Faith, Family and … Fatherhood. Kids need Dads, particularly young men, and our government has worked diligently over the last 5 decades to diminish the role of Fathers, and unfortunately too many men have self abdicated that role as well.
The feminization of America needs to stop.
As a woman, I think the word “feminization” isn’t necessarily the same thing is the neutering of American men. It’s not that they are becoming more feminine, unless you have a negative definition of femininity. (I don’t find Leftist women to be very feminine either.) It’s just that the characteristics that used to define masculinity are now either absent or ridiculed.
I think there is an inherent desire to be respected in most people, maybe even more so in people with dangly bits. We see this in explanations of violence due to the claim “he disrespected me”. (This was recently used by a large black man to explain why he beat a small dog, breaking bones–the puppy did not show respect for him.) But our culture, particularly the culture in black communities, has corrupted the word so now the search for respect is seen in gang violence, rape, robbery and looting—in the imposition of physical strength and power or in the rejection of the law. And, as we have seen, in the random dispersal of semen as some black men brag about how many babies they have sired and then abandoned.
None of this has anything to do with “feminization” and neither does the wimpification of urban while males.
https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2007/05/08/the_feminization_of_america/
There’s also new report out detailing how elementary school practices and curriculums have favored girls learning over boys. Young boys learn differently than girls. Boys need much more physical exercise time than girls and boys don’t perform well when deprived of that. I’ll try and find the report.
That would be great. We have strayed so far from reason and reality in the pursuit of the Left’s conviction that they have the ability to rewrite human nature that we are not making any sense at all.
This is one of the most surreal videos you’ll ever watch. It was quite the scene. And make no mistake about it, illegal immigrants are the new slaves for Democrats, who are still angry we freed their slaves back in 1865.
https://x.com/CitizenFreePres/status/1702718761080332486?s=20
Even Fox contributes to the bastardization of our language by using the term “undocumented immigrants” instead of the accurate “illegal aliens”.
They do. That’s corporate America. Another destructive force. America needs to restore small, family owned businesses. Time to get back to basics.
New Yorkers keep re-electing turds like The Wadler. They kinda deserve what they get.
Perennial front-runner for Doofus Of The Year Keith Olbermann seemingly does not realize that the Babylon Bee is satire, as he evidently referenced this in his comment about Aaron Rodgers’ ankle injury: “Another #SuddenLisfranc due to failure to vaccinate 💉💉💉💉💉💉”
From the Bee:
NEW YORK, NY — After the devastating reports came out that star New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers had suffered what is suspected to be a season-ending injury to his Achilles tendon, experts immediately expressed belief that the injury was a result of Rodgers being unvaccinated.
“Taking the vaccine would have likely prevented this,” said Dr. Arthur MacArthur, a sports physician who has never treated Rodgers. “Research that we just came up with a few moments ago indicates there is a new COVID-19 variant that specifically attacks tendons and ligaments, particularly in the ankle. So Aaron Rodgers, due to his unvaccinated state, clearly came down with a sudden case of what we are referring to, as of right now, ‘COVID ankle.'”
The excitement around the Jets had grown to a fevered pitch this offseason after the team acquired Rodgers, a Super Bowl winner and 4-time MVP, from Green Bay. The Jets made the move against the advice of members of the scientific community, who argued Rodgers’s mere unvaccinated presence would likely result in the death of the entire team. “He has not been vaccinated against the virus everyone has received protection from,” said one concerned scientist. “This obviously puts the protected people at severe risk from the person who isn’t protected. It’s science.”

I just saw a post in a comments section that addressed something I had not considered. That is that the Left’s reaction to the litany of crimes committed by Joe Biden all refer to things he did before he became president and therefore can’t be used as the basis for impeachment.
I hate to say it, but that might be a legitimate argument. I don’t know the statutes of limitations for the crimes he did commit, but I’m sure they all expired years ago. I can’t think of an actual crime he has committed in the past three years. Incompetence should be grounds for impeachment, the debacle in Afghanistan, the corruption surrounding the government forcing people to take experimental drugs while providing legal cover for the drug companies to protect them from liability for the damages of those drugs and the funneling of billions and billions of dollars to those companies, the weaponization of federal agencies to crush political opposition—all these are serious wrongs, but I’m not sure they would carry enough weight to impeach.
So don’t be surprised if the defense is that Biden can’t be impeached as president for things he did before he became president.
I hope they do use that defense. It will just further expose them as power hungry authoritarians rather than law abiding, decent Americans.
I want to hear that argument … “Yes Judge, we understand that Joe Biden serving as Vice President committed treason by enriching himself and his family by extorting foreign adversaries in exchange for favorable policy outcomes, BUT the statute of limitations has run out, so this case should be dismissed on these grounds”. Good luck with that.
Hunter Biden wrote in a text to a Chinese counterpart that “the Biden’s were the best at getting done what the Chairman wants done” – I don’t how you construe that to be anything other than treason
I agree, it doesn’t feel like justice would be served if this argument were to prevail. And I see that you are restating what I said. I merely said that it is possible that a compelling legal argument could be made that we can’t impeach a president for acts committed when he was not the president. (I mentioned statutes of limitation, knowing that you would probably jump on that comment, but only to point out that he also could not be legally prosecuted for those crimes, not related to the impeachment process. If you want to argue that statutes of limitation don’t apply to crimes from many years ago, go for it.)
And I understand the emotional need to apply the strongest possible term to what Biden did. But the simple fact is that the word “treason” has a specific legal meaning. In the Constitution it is actually defined: §2381. Treason
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason In Constitutional studies the term “enemies” has been defined as nations with which we are officially at war, though that has modified a little over the years.
Merriam Webster has a milder definition: “ the offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance or to kill or personally injure the sovereign or the sovereign’s family” but also tosses in an alternative that, while relevant in some ways, does not reflect any legal definition: the betrayal of a trust”
So we can be indignant about the betrayal of trust when an officer of the nation uses that office to enrich himself and possibly endanger the security of the nation, as well as robbing it of billions of dollars. But that indignation has to fall within certain specific legal definitions to be prosecuted. The United States was not at war so did not have any official “enemies” and engaging in corrupt activities with friendly nations is far from aid and comfort to an enemy. It’s wrong, it’s despicable, it’s illegal, it may include bribery, but it is not treason.
Your quotation—–““the Biden’s (sic) were the best at getting done what the Chairman wants done” —-can’t be accurately construed as treason as it has absolutely nothing to do with an overt act to overthrow the government (Merriam Webster) or levying war against the United States.
If we can’t find the accurate legal descriptions of the crimes committed we can’t accurately discuss them. But in any case, the law is the law, and if the law says that after X number of years we can no longer prosecute a crime, then we can’t prosecute that crime.
Theoretically Biden could be impeached for “high crimes and misdemeanors” which generally read to mean both indictable offenses and other serious noncriminal misconduct. The latter has included corruption, dereliction of constitutional duty, and violation of limitations on the power of an office. That’s because this offense is not clearly defined in legal terms and can apply to actions during his presidency. He could probably not be impeached for bribery if he did not commit that crime as president, and he certainly could not be impeached for treason because his actions met no criterion of treason.
Actually, it would just be enacting our own rule of law.
I’ll leave this here. All thanks to Democrats
New Reuters poll released yesterday shows Trump leading Biden in 7 swing states, by an average of 6 pts.
This map shows how Trump will win a landslide in the Electoral College, if the numbers hold true.
Trump 312, Biden 226

I don’t have a large income, but I don’t feel the way these people do.
That’s probably because you grew up in a nation where it was possible to look ahead, set money aside, plan for your future and feel that you were working toward something and not just being on a meaningless treadmill with no hope of improvement.
Exactly. Recall the economic comparison of 1970 vs 2023 in terms cost of living.
You mentioned “consumerism” and I think this is a major factor in the lack of buying power these days.
I have recently read a series of articles on how different people “get by” on different incomes, and what has struck me has been how much money has simply been frittered away. I knew a young woman who complained about her finances, but ignored me when I pointed out that she set fire to or (literally) p****d away enough money every month to buy a nice car or even make a house payment. She was a heavy smoker, and made at least two trips a day to Starbucks, and got tattoos and piercings. Starbucks alone ran to about $300 a month, based on two $5.00 drinks a day, which is probably on the low side. Cigarettes were probably at least three times that much.
A journalist recently got flamed on TikTok after revealing that he spent a whopping $25,000 on DoorDash over the course of one year.
The journalist, Scoop Nashville editor Jason Steen, originally posted a tweet questioning why—and how—he spent so much. “I really find this stat hard to believe,” he wrote. “I spent $25K last year… How is anyone living on $40K/yr?” A screenshot of his spending breakdown accompanied the text. And the spreadsheet revealed that, among other things, Steen spent $3,020 at Chili’s, $2,177 at Chick-fil-A, $1,593 at El Bracero, and $1,024 at Shipley Donuts.
A lot of responders said the charges were similar to their own. “He just like me,” another said.
Indeed, Steen isn’t the only person to spend an exorbitant amount of money on DoorDash. Last year, football players at Rutgers University made headlines for allegedly spending a staggering $450,000 through DoorDash over the course of 14 months. Plus, one commenter who responded to the TikTok claimed that someone they knew spent $100,000 on DoorDash in a single year.
As an interesting aside, Steen also had a heart transplant. Gee, I wonder if cardiac problems were related to diet! And it seems a shame to put a new heart in someone who continues such an unhealthy lifestyle, but that’s another topic.
The point is, if we subtract a new iPhone every year plus a top-of-the-line data plan, tattoos and piercings, restaurant food and food delivery and $10.00 drinks at juice bars and/or coffee shops, we find that a lot of people actually do make enough money to save, buy a house, etc. (I get at least four meals out of a Costco rotisserie chicken–two or three hot meals and then chicken salad. I make my own lattes. I am on the road a lot and very aware of the fact that when I buy a fish strip meal at Arby’s I could make at least two more wholesome and better tasting meals at home for what I just paid for grease and convenience.) The “poorest” among us live on fast food. A lot of the “poverty” we see is less related to lack of income and much more dependent on ignorance, such as not knowing how to shop or cook, and choices of how to spend money.
Aside from their income, they seem to not even have a sense of joy or contentment. Our consumerism and selfish culture fosters this, and yes the leftist agenda is indeed secular and full of empty promises which creates anxieties. And yet they continue to vote and support an agenda that has made them miserable.
Wow. Your filters are certainly set differently from mine. From the videos, I got absolutely nothing related to “consumerism” or “selfishness”. What I got is what I get from nearly everyone—-the sense that the nation’s former promises of the ability to move forward if we work hard and play by the rules are now gone, and that no amount of hard work or honoring those rules of independence and personal responsibility is going to make a difference.
When you think about it, everything is a promise. The promise of equal opportunity, the promise of the ability to flourish with hard work, the promise that the government will provide the protections necessary to live in safety, the promise that we can choose our leaders…… When promises are broken, people become frustrated and then they become angry. Yes, many have voted for Democrats because of the empty promises of that movement, and yes, they are now getting what they voted for. But that is not the message I got from the videos.
I got frustration, and I agree with it. The woman who said it didn’t make sense to barely get by on $80,000 a year was right. This makes no sense, not in a properly functioning country. The ladder of success has been replaced by a treadmill. I don’t see how anyone can reasonably extrapolate a complex life of general joylessness, selfishness, secularism and discontent from tiny snapshots of expression about the economy, which is essentially what these videos are.
Happiness will never be found working for a corporation
Of course it can. Not all corporations are alike, not all corporate jobs are alike, and these women are talking about the fact that this nation has become a place where economic advancement is not possible. And that’s due to Leftist politics, not to working for corporations.
this is what secularism and empty promises results in
It’s actually what Leftist governance results in, but you are right if you are saying that Leftism is based on secularism and empty promises.
