I was thinking about that Ukrainian SS guy honored by Canada’s parliament. First off, my bet is that hardly anyone in the parliament had the foggiest notion of who fought who in Eastern Europe in WWII. For most of them – as for most in the West – there is just a vague sense that the Nazis were bad and that anyone defined as bad must be a Nazi. Probably not one in a thousand adults in the West today could even identify a particular Nazi program – and I include the anti-Semitism because do keep in mind that anti-Semitism is rapidly rising on the Left and in the schools the Holocaust is discounted in favor of various Woke programs (bet money that the kids in school have heard vastly more about George Floyd of Fentanyl than they have about the Holocaust over the past couple years). So, no surprise that a member of the Waffen-SS was honored – all they heard is that he was Ukrainian and had fought Russians. But then I thought further: even if you explained Nazi ideology to them, could the determine what makes it bad?
Because what, really, did the Nazis do that a modern Leftist would object to? The only thing I can think of is: jail homosexuals. And even that wasn’t a specifically Nazi thing: German law had long held harsh penalties for those convicted of homosexual acts (as did most nations in the world back then). Hitler, indeed, was very tolerant of it. And that goes to another thing the Left would have a problem processing: Hitler was an anti-Christian Bohemian. He didn’t believe in working for a living. Kept odd hours and odd habits. Was a crank in his personal habits (no smoking, no drinking, vegetarian). Shave off that mustache and give him a Che t-shirt and Hitler would fit in at Antifa meetings. The bottom line is that nothing the Nazis did is actually objectionable to the modern Left.
Heck, I’ve even seen a recent Leftist presentation which presents white people as insects sucking the blood out of non-whites. You know: we’re vermin. Just as Nazis described Jews. It really doesn’t surprise once you do think about it: people who have cut themselves off from God and who have started to worship themselves are the very definition of Supermen (that word confuses Americans with our Superman comics – but what is meant by the word is a person who holds themself unbound to any system of morality and who follow their own star without any thought to how it might affect others).
This is a real problem: we’re dealing with the amoral. If we were dealing with merely greedy or cruel people it would be a lot easier for us…but what we’re dealing with is people who are convinced they are morally excellent when they have no morality at all. This makes them very dangerous – and deadly to us if they win.

But the shrieks of hatred from the Left were amazing. Do keep in mind that most independents and all Democrats have no real idea what has been going on at the border. The news doesn’t cover it, so they just don’t know. Musk going brought it for the first time before huge numbers of people…and the video coming out of Border Patrol agents cutting the border wire and fist-bumping the illegals as they crossed is absolutely devastating for the Democrats. If Musk really keeps X as a free speech platform (and he recently fired X’s “election integrity team” when he discovered it was essentially working for the DNC) then what happens next year might be very surprising. The Democrats are bad people doing bad things and making life miserable. Forget Democrat rumors that they’re going to scratch Biden…if the truth really gets out, it doesn’t matter who the GOP and Democrat candidates are…the GOP will walk away with it no matter how much the Democrats try to cheat. Do keep in mind: the MSM hasn’t really reported the truth in general since 1980…and by telling the truth – even as they hated doing it – all they got was a landslide Democrat loss. Since then and increasingly since 2000 the MSM has relentlessly lied for the Democrats. Break that down, and 1980 can happen again.

I often say when it’s my turn to run the universe I am going to make all microwaves work the same way so I can heat up a cup of coffee without looking like an idiot. So play the “When it’s my turn to be in charge” game. ( I may have to recuse myself from this as we all know I am already the Boss Of Everything.) But till I get kicked out, if I had any authority, I would:
(1) Do a study to get a grasp of how many people vote for Democrats because of a belief in or commitment to the Leftist model of governance. We do love us our polls, so do some polls. BIG polls. Poll registered Democrats with questions like the ones I pose here: “Do you think the country is better governed by consolidating power in the hands of a few or keeping more authority in the states or local government?” A handful of questions like that would give a reading on the true POLITICAL positions of Democrats.
(2) Stop our tendency to paint all Democrat voters with the same broad brush and then give up on all of them. If we get a better idea of how many are just Legacy Dems with no real allegiance to the core political model of the party, or better yet whose core political beliefs are antithetical to the party but they just don’t realize it because they haven’t examined the party, we know who to target and how. It’s basic MARKETING, people! We are basically trying to sell steaks to PETA. We need to understand the market. For instance, supposedly about 15% of those polled right after the election said if they had known the truth about the Hunter laptop they would have voted differently. So we find out what, exactly, would have changed their minds? The degeneracy, the hints at Joe’s involvement in selling access (because at that time most of the real data had not come out) or what? What bothers some Dems about the party? About Biden? About the direction the nation is going? About the border? FOCUS!
Find out what matters to them. Supposedly the biggest issue is the economy. So put together that list I mentioned, call it The Blueprint for Destroying an Economy, and then have a list of ways these things have been done in the past three years. This is the kind of thing that has more impact when seen than heard. Then do mass mailings (see my point # 3.) Do a great, colorful, catchy graphic for the face of a big glossy postcard and do the list on the back, and mail to target Dem demographics. Then, in few weeks, do a Blueprint for Destroying Liberty. Then, in a few weeks, A Blueprint for Destroying our Elections.
(3) We beat the crap out of the GOP/RNC and tell them to lead or get out of the way. We demand that they fund a coordinated information campaign, and we make it clear that we demand their leadership in getting all GOP candidates on the same page, with the same messaging. That includes abandoning the tactic of attacking the opponent as a person and shifting to attacking the system the opponent represents. This is actually a more efficient way of using campaign dollars, as the same information can be used, to a great extent, in every campaign from statehouse to Congress. So we get the national organization to generate coherent themes for the whole election cycle, generate talking points and make sure that every candidate gets the memos, so in a certain time period, for example, every interview with every Republican makes fun of Identity Politics, in one way or another. When someone is put down for “not being likable” every single Republican should be saying, on every TV show, in every interview, something to the effect of “why should that matter”? “What is this, third grade?” “Would you choose a brain surgeon because of his skill, or because he tells great jokes at parties?” Then we move to a different cycle of coordinated messaging—assumption of dictatorial powers by the president, the problems of using federal agencies to crush political opposition (citing Stalin, never Hitler) and so on. A whole cycle on controlling how people feel by simply redefining words.
We live in a society in which this tactic is illustrated to us every single day. Every time we turn on our computers we are inundated with the same message from the same company, over and over again. Do they think we didn’t see it the first thousand times? No, their research has shown them that the more they repeat it the more effect it has. The Left knows this. We laugh at the fact that the talking heads in the Agenda Media read from the same script, but they do this because the Left is good at marketing. We, on the other hand, have no plan, no coordinated message, and everyone wants to be the boss with his own strategy, so the Republicans look like we are driving bumper cars while the Left whizzes past us on the track.
We don’t need a big media voice, as much as it would help, if we could figure out how to maximize the ones we have, like guest slots on Leftist shows.
And we need to do an end run around the control the Left has on the media. I think we should start a mass mailing campaign. You know those big glossy post cards we get trying to sell us stuff? We look at them, because they catch our attention, and sometimes we even read them, even if we don’t want solar panels or need cremation services. So do market research, pick a target market, put together a simple message that has nothing to do with a candidate (such as simplified version of the VDH piece listing the ways our liberty has been eroded) and mail out a few thousand of them.
I think more people than we know are seeing the truth. The manufactured crisis’s and the dishonesty of Democrats is being noticed and people are waking up. Covid was a manufactured pandemic, Jan 6 was a manufactured “insurrection”, the 2020 election was a manufactured win, the trans movement is a manufactured movement, the Ukraine war is a manufactured war of choice, and of course climate change is the greatest manufactured hoax of all time. Everything is fake and a lie. People are noticing, we just have to keep pointing it out.
Pointing it out in an organized way, so it forms a coherent pattern in those minds instead of just floating around as random ideas.
I think we should start with a few topics that are most likely to be well received, such as the use of federal agencies to spy on and punish political opponents and the assumed authority of one man to shut down the whole country with edicts including forcing people to take a drug or lose their jobs or ability to travel.
I think we need to avoid using volatile words, because they tend to have immediate rejection reactions, and keep to unemotional and purely objective statements of fact, and let people connect their own dots. I agree with everything you said, but also think your presentation would result in being rejected and ignored because of the volatility of your words. Presenting a conclusion is never as effective as presenting facts that lead people to their own conclusions. And some topics are, for now, third-rail topics you just don’t want to touch till they calm down a little, like the whole “trans” scam.
You have so many great ideas. Have you ever shared them with someone who actually has the power to implement them. I realize Harriet Hageman is just a freshman congresswoman, but, given your personal relationship, she’d be a great place to start.
Thanks so much for the comment, Spook. I think that I am like a lot of people who, like me, have had to solve a lot of problems and learned the technique of just whittling down a big problem till we get to a size we can deal with, and starting there.
I don’t think Congress can do much when it comes to the kinds of marketing approaches I mentioned. I think that falls into the realm of party administration, and ours is sadly lacking in vision and leadership.
Always – and it really does depend on how the GOP does it next year; whether it is DeSantis or Trump. Our biggest weakness right now is ourselves with GOPers arguing we have to fund the government because if we don’t, the border won’t be secured! They’re actually accusing MAGA of being weak on the border! I’ve pointed out to them that the Border Patrol is cutting the wire and fist-bumping the illegals as they cross…so defunding the government and furloughing Border Patrol would actually secure the border because it would allow Abbott to work without Border Patrol sabotage. But that nutshells our problem – a lot of the GOP is actually in favor of Democrat policies and so, naturally, is not inclined to attack Democrats. But if we get the right GOPers running things then we can take advantage of X and get the message out better than any time in the last 40 years.

The Chinese would have to be a lot stupider than I think they are to not take advantage. To have within the USA at any given time significant numbers of their troops – obviously special forces-trained troops – able to carry out pre-planned acts of sabotage in case of a conflict with the USA is a huge military and psychological advantage. And it isn’t like you have to keep them here forever…you can cycle them through…and given the way things work in the USA right now, it is Uncle Sam footing the food and housing costs of keeping them within the USA.
I am absolutely confident that if war comes with China, the first thing we’ll notice is that our power goes out and major transportation hubs are destroyed in commando raids. It wouldn’t finish us off…but it would cripple our response and by the time we get our act together then China will have already seized Taiwan and anything else they wanted. Then it becomes a matter of do we want to expend a million lives getting them out of it?
Have you read the predictions of the loss of life if the electrical grid were to shut down? A total shutdown for just a few days would result in hundreds of thousands of deaths. Even a partial shutdown would be easy to do.
Way back when, we had the big East Coast blackout that turned out to be one poorly maintained electrical substation was overwhelmed by demand during a heat wave so it shut down and shifted its load to the next station. Which, already under heavy demand, couldn’t handle it and shut down and shifted both loads to the next substation, and so on. The map that was eventually produced of the domino effect of these stations sequentially being overwhelmed and shutting down showed a trail from the origin (in the Midwest, if I remember correctly) all the way into Eastern Canada and then back down the East Coast.
Even back then it occurred to me how easy it would be to research the energy flow from one station to another and then have a coordinated attack on the lead station in each chain, recreating that domino effect across the country. Low-tech, not calling for much more than a few good shots with high powered guns.

You have clearly missed my observation that the Left’s biggest lure is its message that it offers a shortcut to the Higher Moral Ground. Therefore, many if not most if not all who aspire to the Higher Moral Ground do so because they want to do good and be good. They have just been deceived into following the wrong path. They have been deceived into accepting a false definition of “good” and “evil”.

No matter who is installed in the office they will be just a mindless vote for the Democrat leadership; and not even the public leadership…the behind-the-scenes people (mostly made up of Team Clinton and Team Obama people) who really rule the roost. She will, like DiFi, make sure her family and friends get on the gravy train and return for her slavish devotion to orders she will now rise ever higher in the socio-economic system.

A New York judge on Tuesday canceled the certificates of the key businesses behind Donald Trump’s empire, ordering a quick timeline to dissolve the Trump Organization and other corporate entities.
Okey-dokey. Time for a multi-billion dollar lawsuit for damages related to the forced liquidation of assets. That would include reduced value of those assets due to the demand for forced liquidation, loss of income and loss of opportunity.
I’d file now, based on current revenues and appraised values of assets (real appraised value, of course, not some rinky-dink little tyrant judge) and then amend the suit weekly or monthly to add to the amount of damages.
At the same time I would buy newspaper coverage, at least a half sheet, with a chart showing the potential tax loss to the city and the state if the Trump businesses were to be shut down and/or moved, and the cost of fighting the lawsuits from Trump even if the damages are not eventually awarded.
Your average New Yorker is probably not aware of the revenue losses as businesses flee the city, so tell them. And add the revenue losses associated with Trump being forced out. Surely some high school sophomore in a computer class could put together a great graphic showing current tax revenue losses, projected losses if Trump is forced out, and on the other side of the equation how much money the city and state have spent to prosecute him, how much money it will cost to defend against his suits, and how much money it is spending to support illegal aliens and criminals.
Ask the simple questions: Where do you think the money comes from, and Do you know where it is going?
He owns Trump Tower—make it a billboard. Put up a Jumbotron or a few, and play these graphics nonstop, on the building. If there was ever a chance to shift from defense to offense, this is it.

As I said the other day, it all depends on how many people believe things have gotten so bad that the only solution is to change who controls the country. I thought we were at that point in 2022, and I was wrong. But you’re right, there are starting to be more and more articles like the one you linked to. When NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, FNC, the NYT, WAPO and LAT start to agree, then I’ll believe the light at the end of the tunnel is daylight and not an oncoming train.
I guess the question is, is the Right capable of recognizing this and helping it along? Because in all of the verbiage I see coming from the Right, it seems to be focused on PEOPLE on the Left, and not on the ACTIONS of the Left. It amazes me that we see so little (as in no) attention paid to the fact that the entire country was shut down because of the decisions made in the Oval Office. (We can go along with the fantasy that they were made by Joe Biden, who was probably just looking for his pudding cup till presented with an Executive Order to sign, but we still had this all happen under the name and signature of one man.)
Why aren’t we making a big deal out of (1) the fact that the Left assumed the power to shut down the country, (2) assumed the power to limit our freedom to travel, (3) assumed the power to force people out of their jobs and military positions if they did not submit to federal edicts and (4) did this without Congressional legislation or even oversight?
If the shift in Democrat support is based on the perception that the party is “more ideologically extreme” then why aren’t we building on that very accurate perception?
For the moment, I think our lack of a clear message is due to the on-going Trump vs DeSantis battle. Nobody is quite sure how that will come out so everyone is being wary for fear of alienating either side. Combine this with the fact that a least a large portion of the GOP leadership is pro-Democrat and it makes for drift.
Once we get our nominee then a very sharp message will resonate.
DeSantis is putting out clear messages but they are not being reported by the pro-Trump media. And no matter how much these media push anti-Trump messaging they still want him to be the nominee, so they stifle all news about DeSantis. As Trump is so far ahead and supposedly has no real opponent, he shouldn’t be shy about clear messaging. No one so dependent on Identity Politics trash-talking about opponents can hide behind a claimed fear of “alienating” the other side.
I was thinking more of the general GOP; but, yes, DeSantis is talking specifics into the void as the MSM clearly doesn’t want him to rise.

Something that’s really flying under everyone’s radar; financial markets are in a pretty significant decline in the last two weeks. The DJIA, the S&P500 and the NASDAQ are all off around 5%, Gold is off 6%, and silver is off nearly 10%. Something’s going on.
I’m noticing a lot of things going south as gasoline here in Vegas crests $5.29 a gallon.
I miss the $1.89/gal. when Trump was President.
I miss a lot of things we had when Trump was president, like the local economy, (including my company) booming due to the great jobs available in the petroleum industry. An economy which, by the way, extended far beyond the oil patch itself as it supported restaurants, housing, car dealerships, etc.
