According to polling nearly a quarter of Americans 18-29 believe that the Holocaust is a myth. Another quarter believe it was exaggerated. I had said some time back that I suspect a lot of people don’t know why the Nazis were bad – they’ve just been told “Nazis bad” and ran with it. But now I’m adjusting that a bit – my bet is that for some time now they’ve been told something along the lines of “Nazis were white, Christian nationalists” and that’s what made them bad. The whole Jew-killing thing has been ignored or downplayed. So, if you suddenly pop up with, “the Nazis killed six million Jews” the kiddies don’t believe it…because if you come at it suddenly and without the lived experience, it does seem way too fantastic to believe. Keep in mind that young Commies simply do not believe that things like Gulag happened, either. As in all generation to generation things, what the current generation believes happened is what the preceding generation told them…and if one generation skips certain details, the next generation just doesn’t have them unless, on their own, they look it up.
You’d think that the Commies who by and large dominate education would want to keep emphasizing the actual reasons Nazis were bad but as soon as you think about it, you know why they wouldn’t. There is, in fact, no real objection to Nazism as it was for a true Leftist. Totalitarian control; destruction of undesirables; rejection of Christian morality…all same/same between Commie and Nazi. And now that Jews have been decreed to be “white settler/colonialists” operating an Apartheid State to keep down “brown” Palestinians (who are no darker than Israels, but details don’t matter), there’s no need to harp upon anti-Semitism as being something bad. The Left needs their bogeyman, of course…but what the bogeyman is bad for is determined by what the Left needs him to be bad for. Right now, the bogeyman has to be white, straight and Christian or at least two of the three at any given time. So, basically, to the Left Nazis are….well, you and me. And anyone Jewish who doesn’t join the Hamas side of things.
We’ve got a real problem, here, guys: we’ve got a rising generation who will vote for Hitler if he promises to annul student debt.
Hunter Biden got indicted – conveniently just in time to make sure no House investigation will be able to call him to testify. Of course, there is a chance the prosecutor – who got burned when Hunter rejected his really sweetheart deal – is now just going to let the process grind out. Hunter, if convicted, is looking at some years in jail even if the judge just slaps him with minimum sentences. It is all pretty much just a drug-fueled orgy – the money almost certainly illegally obtained and what’s tripping Hunter up is that he didn’t declare it on his taxes. And, yes, it is all definitely connected to dear, old Dad. Naturally the Democrats hope that the thing can be kept out of the news (the MSM will cooperate in that) and that it can be dealt with in December of 2024 via pardon – and that is whether or not Joe wins or loses. But the thing about scumbag, drug-addicted degenerates who are protected by indulgent fathers…they tend to be scumbags. I can see Hunter putting massive pressure on Dad to make it all go away long before December of next year…especially as if Dad kicks the bucket, nobody in power is going to give the least damn about Hunter’s problems. This could end up being a major albatross around Pudding Brain’s neck.
Never Trump, Democrats and MSM are all now spending a great deal of time “proving” that the polling is all wrong. We’ve been down this road before, but last time it was GOPers doing it. To be fair, polling is always wrong…but as I’ve also always said, trends are important. What we’re seeing is polls that were favorable to Joe (or at least unfavorable to the GOP) moving strongly the other way. You can always get outliers but they’re easily identified by being out of sync with everyone else…at this moment, even some of the most partisan Democrat polls are showing Trump, RDS or Haley handily beating Biden. And it seems to be fueled by blue collar people moving strongly to the GOP while minority and youth voters are moving a little GOP or expressing total disinterest in voting Biden next year. The only group remaining rock solid for Democrats are college educated white women; as one X friend of mine puts it, to them nothing else matters except their ability to kill their unborn children. What is staring Democrats in the face next year if the polling is even partially right is electoral catastrophe. And all possible GOP contenders are committed to massive reforms and deep investigations of just what the heck has been going on. Meaning: Trump may be revenge on steroids, but any GOPer is going to take a few pounds of flesh. They have to: survival of any future GOP Administration depends on really going after the Administrative State.
I can feel the shift out there. Can you?

This is why it is so important for the Left to control education. If people are taught the truth about Leftist governance, the Left will never stand a chance at assuming more power in different countries.
Some of us are old enough, and fortunate enough to have lived in this country before the Left took over control of nearly all of the media, to have witnessed the horrors of Leftist governance. I’ve had looks of disbelief when I have told teenagers of watching TV and seeing bodies hanging from the East side of the Berlin Wall, where they were gunned down by Leftists as they desperately tried to escape to the West. Any story about Russians automatically getting in any line they happened to see because they knew that no matter what was being sold at the end they would need it, and standing in line for hours to buy two rolls of toilet paper or quart of milk. We remember the stories on TV of Russian sailors jumping overboard in New York Harbor to try to swim to freedom, and of Russian ballet dancers allowed to travel to the U.S. being under 24-hour guard to keep them from defecting.
Even today people risk death to escape Leftist tyranny, floating on inner tube rafts or crammed into tiny boats to try to cross the treacherous Straits of Florida to escape the Leftist regime in Cuba, but for some reason (/sarc off) this is barely mentioned on the “news” these days. Any such stories are usually cast as Coast Guard rescues (or discovery of many floating bodies) more than valiant efforts to get to freedom.
When education fails to educate, and the “news” edits and curates what is released to the public so the horrors of Leftist governance are covered up or ignored, no wonder young people fall for the false promises of the Left. They are trained to be dependent, brought up with Participation Trophies by indulgent parents who have convinced them they are entitled to have what they want given to them, and the Left happily steps in and promises relevance, a position on the Higher Moral Ground, and lifelong coddling. All they have to do is surrender their liberty.

Watching a couple of recent generations participating in what are disgusting displays of ignorance I realized that the Left does not just promise a shortcut to the Higher Moral Ground by assuring people that merely being “FOR” the virtuous things the Left claims to represent they will automatically BE virtuous, they also sell relevance.
Young people have always wanted to test themselves to prove their relevance, by rebelling against authority or striving for achievement or finding some other way to prove that they matter, that they are strong and independent and important as individuals. The canny Left knows this, and tells them that by marching, by protesting, by joining mobs in Leftist-approved displays, they are proving that they are relevant, because they are standing up for something important. Because this is coupled with the ignorance that is the result of carefully controlled “education” the pawns in this game, the mobs howling for what they are convinced are important human values, are unaware that they are actually supporting and even advocating the worst kinds of human rights abuses which are the hallmarks of Leftist governance.
I think the Germans who watched and tolerated the Nazi abuses of Jews did not do so out of ignorance but out of hate. I think the race bigots who tolerated and even joined the KKK did so not because they believed they were advocating for virtue but because they were filled with hate. But I doubt that most in the mobs we see now supporting Palestine are all there because they truly hate Jews. I think they truly believe that they are defending innocent victims against cruel oppressors, and that is an important difference.
And it underlines the crucial need to crush the Left and its hold on education and information.

Well said. A trend that is picking up here in AZ and CA is that people our age, are moving to Mexico, and I have been looking into that myself. There are quite a few charming little towns on the coast, the cost of living is next to nothing, the food is excellent, the towns are safe, and the people are wonderful. It sure beats living around the modern day Democrat, who have become just insufferable people.

I’ve wondered that as well. We’ve been in the cold phase of that civil war for some time, often referred to as the culture war. We have two diametrically opposed views of how the world should be, and they can’t coexist forever without some sort of violent confrontation. At the suggestion of a friend, and against my better judgement as to the use of an hour and a half that is a measurable portion of my remaining life, I watched the recent Tucker Carlson interview of Alex Jones. I’ve seen clips of Alex Jones before, and he always sounded like a kook, but I’ve never watched a lengthy interview with him. Like Tucker, I couldn’t disagree with much of what he says in this interview.
BTW, what form the confrontation takes depends on what event or event spark it, and there are quite a few possibilities. The worst, as I think you and I would agree, would be a complete failure of the electrical grid, either man-made of solar. Most estimates put the death toll within the first year at around 90%. Now a lot of that would be deaths caused by lack of food, water, medicine, medical care, and heat and cooling, but a lot would simply be shooting each other as some people decide to take what isn’t theirs by force, while others decide they’re not going to let that happen without a fight. Quite frankly, I’m amazed that one of our enemies hasn’t brought down our grid. There have been numerous small assaults of substations,, so you know someone is thinking about it.
I understand, and I also read “One Second After”—or tried to. It was so depressing I couldn’t get through it. But I’ve read a lot of dystopian literature and I get it. I just never thought of that as any kind of a “civil war” which to me is citizens of a nation fighting other citizens of the nation over political differences and seeking of power.
I started to worry about this way back when they had that huge rolling blackout that started in Ohio, I think, and rolled all the way up into Canada and back down the eastern seaboard. At the time it occurred to me how easy it would be for an enemy to create something like this, hitting selected substations around the country all at the same time and creating the same kind of domino effect of one overloaded station dumping its load on the next one and so on, till the nation was shut down.
Since then I have learned that nearly all our electrical grid is controlled by a computer system the Russians have already hacked into, and that they have played with some smaller systems to test their ability to shut them down. And that transformers are pretty much built to order, IN CHINA, and take weeks or months to build, but can be destroyed by high powered rifle fire.
And then there are EMPs, which have been considered a major threat for a couple of decades now yet we have not spent the money to harden our systems.
Alex goes off the rails sometimes, but he also nails it many times.
