The polls are tightening! Biden is surging!

Or, so goes the conventional wisdom. And, hey, there might be some tightening as the primaries end and everyone sorts themselves out on partisan lines. But, there also seems to be in the latest raft of polls some significant oversampling of Democrats. Maybe the earlier polls oversampled Republicans? Could be. But as we’ve said here for years now, don’t put your faith in polls. 2016 was the definitive year on that – wasn’t it something like a 97% chance Hillary would win based on polls? This, I think, is far more decisive:

Except for a very slight uptick in Colorado (which was probably out of reach for us all along), this is a catastrophic collapse for the Democrats. And keep in mind that this shift happened while the GOP was largely run by anti-Trump GOPers who were diligently trying to finish off the whole MAGA movement. This is registration gains in spite of deliberate RNC incompetence. This is people looking at their nation and saying, “we’ve got to do something!”. Not that the GOP is great, but it is the only way to stop the increasingly insane Democrats.

I think that the Biden vs Trump rematch will revolve around the fact that here in 2024 there is no longer any mystery about Biden. Even discounting cheating to get him into the White House, the thing about him was supposedly boring and conventional. That there would be no massive policy changes and we’d coast along in peace and quiet after the alarms of the Trump years. That might have been the plan – in his lucid moments, it was probably what Biden wanted – but given that he is increasingly senile, his aides are running wild, imposing ever more far Left lunacy without a shred of legal power to do so. Biden can’t hide behind a Narrative any longer – he sucks. And the price of food and gas are through the roof. I expect at this moment a 49% to 47% Trump victory. Keep in mind, of course, that anything less than a 3+ point Biden win in the popular vote works out to a Trump electoral victory. Basically, Biden has to get above 50% to win because I can’t see Trump getting less than 47%.

Team Pudding Brain has pretty much abandoned Israel. They tried for a while to triangulate support for Hamas and Israel but the Muslim voters they count on aren’t having it – they demanded abandoning Israel and that’s what they’re going to get. Nothing matters to the Democrats more than winning and if they have to hate Israel to get a win, they’ll do it. Don’t put too much stock into this for us as a Party – most Liberal Jews are Liberals first and last…they are just Jews by descent for the most part; they’ll swallow the insult. Orthodox Jews were already moving towards us. This will accelerate that and it might mean a House seat or two but nothing decisive for 2024.

And it is just disgusting what they are doing. Hamas already has a plan written up for what comes after they kill all the Jews of Israel. Plans for what happens to Jewish property. All neatly typed up and ready to go. There are genocidal maniacs in this conflict; its just that they’re all Muslims. I do worry that Israel is losing the will to finish the job. Anything short of the total destruction of Hamas will be an Israeli defeat, and perhaps an ultimately fatal one. A nation can’t afford to have something like Hamas as a living enemy. I did hear the theory that they are just hunkering down and waiting for November’s result. This could be true. Biden’s people do have a lot of control over deliveries of war materials to Israel and so can exert a lot of pressure…pressure the Israeli’s know will end with Trump’s victory. But that is also a long time from now. Its all very murky at the moment.

Did you notice that the MSM was 24/7 eclipse for a while? I did. Lots of people did. Personally, I think it was to deflect attention away from Trump’s statement on the abortion issue. This is crucial. What he said did upset some pro-Lifers but the pragmatic facts of life are that a majority of Americans currently want abortion legal, at least through the first trimester. We just can’t get around that. Took 50 years of relentless pro-abortion propaganda to get us here and we won’t undo that in a day. It will take decades for us to build a culture of life – and we can’t do that if for purity’s sake we turn all power over to the fanatic pro-abortion Democrats. We have to take what we can get – that was Trump’s essential message. And it is a message Democrats want to bury because their whole Fall campaign is going to be “Trump wants to ban abortion” as a means of scaring upper class urban/suburban white women. Trump does need to get out in front of this – my view is that our failure to do so in 2022 cost us at least 3 Senate and a dozen House seats. Failure to address abortion squarely turned a Red Wave into a Red Trickle. Trump is doing the right thing here; nobody likes a coward so lets be a bit brave and say what we want.

Team Pudding Brain is also cooking up more illegal plans to annul student debt. You can get mad about it, if you like, but it is what it is. They’re playing to win. Those on our side who are all “pay your bills” are simply not getting it. In 2024, some votes have to be purchased. As I said years ago we should have been out in front on this one – and casting it as “Democrats enslaved you to college debt and we freed you from it”. If not cancellation, then at least make it dischargable in bankruptcy. And put the colleges on the hook for at least some of it. Tax college endowments to pay for low income college. So much we could have done and we just blew it. I’m hopeful that Trump comes up with something along these lines. There’s already indicators that youth is prepared to abandon the Democrats…we just need something to tip them.

There’s an old saying, “don’t piss on my shoes and tell me it’s raining,” and that is exactly what the Democrats and their allies in the media are doing. We’ll find out in a few months if enough people are buying it to keep them in power.

Thank you Fielding for proving my “irrational” voter assertion. Why do you label someone a “career criminal” who in fact has ZERO criminal convictions? That’s not what normal people do.

I always enjoy lectures from losers like you. Always good for a laugh. But thanks for chiming in and repeating your endless desire to kill unborn children. Democrats are known for death. Endless wars, abortion, no cash bail for murderers, etc. Normal people are ashamed to support these causes, but not you. You delight in political issues that allow you to demonize people, and not in any issues that actually help people.

Trump took a very measured position on abortion yesterday and the vast majority of Americans support restrictions. Abortion on demand is extreme and insane And a losing position, but that’s where you find yourselves … once again on the wrong side of history

“He is allowing murder in some states. – Fielding”

Really hard to believe how pathetically stupid Democrats are. What Trump is doing sweetheart, is advocating that the voters in each State should decide how they want to handle the abortion issue … you know, that democracy thing. Learn it

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona April 11, 2024 / 11:59 am

We have to remember that the squealers like fielding are so ignorant of the Constitution and reality that they actually believe the president has authority over things like this. He seems to believe that even a former president does

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona April 11, 2024 / 12:07 pm

Trump is merely accepting the ugly reality that there is a segment of our society so morally compromised that it willingly makes the preservation of human life a mere political issue. And remember, the Democrat Party has always been the party of slavery. It is, these days, merely advocating for the idea that a woman can own another human being if it has not yet been born and therefore dictate its right to live.

        Same mentality, just different circumstances

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people

I agree with Amazona. This is an issue that should go back to the states, or better yet the cities and counties as they are even closer to the people. Then again, maybe this is an issue that should be decided directly by the people themselves. Let’s let each person make their own choice about abortion. That’s the most constitutional way of handling it.

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona April 11, 2024 / 11:55 am

Do you feel that this arrogant assumption of the ability to arbitrarily end a human life based on how one FEELS at a certain emotionally charged, often panicky, brief period should be in any way regulated? That is, length of gestation, requirement of prior ultrasound, etc?

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona April 11, 2024 / 12:17 pm

Let’s let each person make their (sic) own choice about abortion.

I’m fine with that, as long as the person with the biggest stake in the outcome gets to vote. That is, the baby.

The Left is always about control, and the prissy pseudo-libertarian pap about just letting every woman make her own rules is really just saying that if a woman owns another human being she should be allowed total control over it.

      • Amazona's avatar Amazona April 12, 2024 / 9:58 am

One of the things that kind of intrigue me is the claim that a woman “prayed” about the decision to end her own child’s life. The act of prayer indicates a belief in God and prayer about this decision indicates a desire to know God’s will and even be guided by it.

So this leads me to the idea that some woman who not only believes in God but asks for His guidance says, essentially, “Heavenly Father, I have indulged in the pleasures of sex, knowing that this could lead to becoming pregnant, but now that I have participated in the creation of another life in Your image, a life You have said You already know in the womb, well, now I just don’t feel like taking responsibility for it even to the extent of letting it live long enough to be born. So I want to just kill it. Is that OK with You?” And, in this scenario of an allegedly moral woman asking for spiritual guidance, the Lord’s response is something like “Do whatever you want, makes no nevermind to Me”. Just a big old divine shoulder shrug and “whatev..”

I don’t buy it. If there is any prayer involved I have a feeling it’s more like “Dear God, I hope you won’t condemn me to Hell for killing my own baby because I just don’t feel like going to the trouble of honoring my side of the implied acceptance of responsibility for my own actions. Now I ask You to absolve me for the consequences of this one. ”

And BTW, I also don’t buy the claim that women confide in Casper about things like this but that’s another story.

Yesterday, a cockroach (aka Muslim) spoke in Dearborn, MI calling for death to America and death to Israel, and the expected enthusiastic chants from Democrat voters ensued. And this is the type of scum that Democrats are pandering to, and subsidizing. They should not even be in this country. And this in addition to Democrats support for, and funding for Central American gangs to illegally enter our country and commit heinous crimes with zero accountability. Democrats have become extreme, insane, dangerous, and a real threat to this country. How any rational American would vote for that party is beyond me. But alas, they are not rational, are they? Anyone who believes in the big government lies of climate change, white supremacy, and Covid, is not a rational person.

I honestly believe Democrats have become the shrieking minority. They just happen to own the media and the Deep State so their concerns are over amplified. I believe tens of millions of rational Americans are lying in wait to vote them out of power ….

And finally, just an observation, it doesn’t take much to scare upper class urban white women. They are quite the neurotic group

Definitely Arab oil money – with a good chance that Chinese, Russian and Iranian money is involved. The primary fact of American political life in 2024 is that everyone not MAGA is bought to one degree or another. What the armed enemies could never do by force, they have done by wire transfers.

      • Cluster's avatar Cluster April 10, 2024 / 1:35 pm

So the Michigan parents of school shooter Ethan Crumbley were sentenced to 15 years in prison for their lack of action in properly parenting Ethan, and no doubt the evidence pointed to that. My question is, why stop there?? I think if we locked up more parents this would be a better and safer country. The fact is, many parents simply don’t parent anymore, and they should be held accountable.

Casper chimed in saying that he thinks women should just be able to do whatever they want in terms of abortion, thinking that this is the ultimate extension of allowing the States to decide. So in reality, what Casper is advocating here is anarchy … strange coming from someone who often advocates for socialism. Democrats really don’t like a representative republic do they?

Quick! The sky is falling…   again!!!  But before you scramble to your bunker, maybe some truth (for a change).

The network was established to provide an “accurate, unbiased, up-to-date historical climate record for the United States,” NOAA states, and it has recorded more than 100 years of daily maximum and minimum temperatures from stations across the United States.

The problem, say experts, is that an increasing number of USHCN’s stations don’t exist anymore.

“They are physically gone—but still report data—like magic,” said Lt. Col. John Shewchuk, a certified consulting meteorologist.

“NOAA fabricates temperature data for more than 30 percent of the 1,218 USHCN reporting stations that no longer exist.”

Interesting quote from a person on the internet.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. I look around at things like the complexity of life, the vastness of the universe, and the order mathematical formulas that seem to make things heavily predictable in the scientific method possible. And I come to the conclusion that gosh, maybe some design was involved in all of this and that makes me a crazy person. And it makes me a crazy person by the people who believe that once upon a time there was nothing and then it became matter and then it became living matter and then it became living intelligent matter and then it became living intelligent moral matter with all because billions years ago a bunch of nothing got together and exploded just right to make it without any legitimate purpose or meaning. But I’m the unreasonable one.

    • Mark Noonan's avatar Mark Noonan April 11, 2024 / 7:55 pm

That’s about it. Most of atheism and such is really just someone trying to rationalize getting out of going to Church on Sunday. There isn’t much thought behind it.

An honest person would be Deist; admitting that something doesn’t come from nothing and so some Power outside the universe must have brought it into being and further conceding that as this universe has laws the Creator of it must be intelligent. You don’t have to subscribe to any particular religion to do all that…but a lot of people really don’t want God and for the reason that C S Lewis pointed out…what if you’re pulling on God and you feel a tug on the other end? That there is a God who cares about us and will judge us terrifies a lot of people…so they make up a fable about there being no God.
