Trump has ordered a new census…keeping in mind that the Constitution requires a decennial census but it doesn’t prohibit a census at other times. Only hurdle here, legally, is to get the funding for it…which might be within Presidential budget authority on already-appropriated money (the census bureau isn’t only funded every ten years – it works all the time). Trump’s demand is an accurate account (everyone agrees that the 2020 census was deliberately miscounted in order to keep House seats and Electoral Votes in Blue States) and that it not include illegals…which is going to get the lawsuit as the Constitution does say all persons.

But is a person illegally in country a person per the Constitution? That is, can you illegally enter our country and then have an effect on the governance of our nation? Providing representation based upon illegal immigrants does dilute the power of citizens and legal residents, after all…there are seats which should be representing the peoples of Texas and Florida which are now representing California due to the counting of illegals in the 2020 census. If there are 3 million illegals in California (this is probably a low ball guess) then that’s 4 House seats which belong elsewhere. And, of course, the census also helps determine the flow of federal aid funds…welfare, medicare/medicaid, education…the number of persons determines how much money a State gets…and illegals aren’t supposed to be getting these funds.

Anyways, this will be lots of fun! And continue to make Trump’s point while also locking the Democrats into the 20 in another 80/20 issue…because if you point blank ask the question, “should illegal immigrants have representation in Congress?”, its going to be an overwhelming “no”.

Anita Dunn is saying Biden remained sharp as a tack – so, she’s lying. Now, that was just in a press release…under oath might be different. Biden’s people are lashed to the mast on this – if one of them goes down, they all go down in a conspiracy indictment. Key to getting to the bottom of this is to catch one of them in a lie (not hard) and then leverage that to get them to turn State’s evidence.

Jennifer Newsom runs a “non-profit” which seems to have funneled money to her “for-profit”. From what I’ve read, the Newsom family may have profited to the tune of millions. It might all be perfectly legal – this is the way NGO’s work and why the Establishment was so massively opposed to cutting off USAID. It is very much a club – and you very much ain’t in it. But if you are connected – and do as you’re told – untold millions will be handed to you by various means. And what does Newsom do to “earn” this money? Runs a “gender equity” organization…aside from agitating for overall Leftwing causes, there is no metric to judge the organization by. In other words, we can’t say they aren’t doing their job – there is no product, other than a new car for the Newsom’s and increased Leftwing agitation. I’ve been saying it for years: defund the Left = the end of the Left. They aren’t popular. They never have been. They’ve just been heavily subsidized since the New Deal. Time to end that subsidy.

Looks like Bibi might have ordered the IDF into Gaza to finish off Hamas. I believe that Israel’s campaign had been strategically unsound from the start – they should have laid a regular siege and starved them into submission. But I’m not in charge of the IDF and the Israelis want to fight the war this way. Hope it works.

If I were writing the headline for this story it might be something like “Hot Wheels Puts His Pedal To The Metal” or some such thing.

Paxton Moves to Vacate Seats of Quorum-Breaking Democrats

    by Brandon Waltens

After warning Democrat lawmakers to return to the Texas Capitol by Friday or face legal consequences, Attorney General Ken Paxton has followed through by filing a lawsuit in the Texas Supreme Court seeking to declare the seats of 13 Democrat House members vacant.

In the petition, Paxton argues that the members, by fleeing the state and refusing to attend the ongoing special session in protest of a congressional redistricting proposal, have abandoned their offices. He cites their own public statements confirming the intent to block legislative business as evidence of “willful refusal to perform their duties.”

“These cowards deliberately sabotaged the constitutional process and violated the oath they swore to uphold,” said Paxton. “Their out-of-state rebellion cannot go unchecked, and the business of Texas must go on.”

The 13 Democrats named in the petition include State Reps. Ron Reynolds, Vikki Goodwin, Gina Hinojosa, James Talarico, Lulu Flores, Mihaela Plesa, Suleman Lalani, Chris Turner, Ana-Maria Ramos, Jessica Gonzalez, John Bucy, Gene Wu, and Christina Morales. Sources tell Texas Scorecard similar action could be taken against other absent Democrats in the coming days.

The Constitution requires 100 of the 150 members, or two-thirds, to be present in order to conduct business. On Friday, only 95 were in attendance.

During a brief meeting of the House Friday afternoon, Speaker Dustin Burrows noted that he and Paxton were working to domesticate civil arrest warrants in Illinois and were in contact with law enforcement there. He also stated that 30 percent of each absent member’s monthly operating budget will now be withheld, and their paychecks must be collected in person at the Capitol rather than direct deposits.

The House is set to reconvene on Monday. With the special session ending August 19, Gov. Greg Abbott has already signaled he will call another session if Democrats don’t return.

Also on Friday, Paxton filed a lawsuit against Robert “Beto” O’Rourke and his Powered By People organization for allegedly funding Democrat quorum-breakers, which he says could amount to bribery.

This sure looks like “All gas no brakes”.

re: Leftist tears about how to count the census: Count it both ways.

Way # 1, the important way, is for allocation of representation in Congress, and that would only count citizens. It would also how indicate federal aid funds should be allocated.

Way # 2 could, if this were deemed necessary, just count every person, period, just to know how many people are there. This might be helpful for urban planning and so on.

The total from #1 could be subtracted from #2 to give an idea of how many non-citizens live in an area. I doubt that anyone would admit to being here illegally, but at least it could show the impact of non-citizens on a community or state.

This might produce a census that actually provides important information.

We’ve certainly had plenty of practice shaking our heads in wonderment at the spectacle of Dems frantically struggling to swim against the current of sanity, but every now and then one rises above the rest with an even more startling example.

The recent hysteria over the Sidney Sweeney jeans ad is a perfect example. Conservatives and most of the rest of the country as well saw the ad as an example of merchandising trying to attract business by using attractive models in advertising, (for the first time ever??) but a few on the Left (and it is ALWAYS on the Left) managed, somehow, to read all sorts of nefarious symbolism into the ad, primarily eugenics and racism. And you can’t really blame them—this was a twofer for the clinically insane, a chance to bleat about racism and Nazis at the same time.

As far as I could see everyone on the Right and most of the remaining country as well just looked at these howling screeching goofballs and shrugged, with a “well, that’s what we expect from them” dismissal.

And then comes someone so far out in left field the field is not even in the same county, explaining that it is the RIGHT freaking out over the ad:

    Lorenzo Maldonado

The manufactured rage the GOP attempted to create on this one fell flat on its face. The GOP continues to immerse themselves in a non existent culture war they are absolutely OBSESSED with.

Matt Vespa’s article on this says “… some outlets claimed it was we Republicans who were going nuts over this ad.” Well, I’d tone that “going nuts” thing way way down to merely noticing the ad and then voicing appreciation for seeing someone who looks like a normal American girl doing normal American stuff being used to promote a product that has its roots in the American working class. And I’m not aware of ANY “Republican” comments on it except in response to the shrill squealing of the Perennially Indignant who had just found a new trigger and that was more like “you’ve got to be kidding—get a life” than anger.

I’m not sure where Lorenzo Maldonado found “rage” on the GOP side of the aisle, as all I saw was casual amusement at what the loons had decided to tout as a crime against humanity and the observation that it was a cute ad with a pretty girl, nothing to see here folks.

The only “significant” thing about this is its illustration of how little the Left has to work with these days. It has embraced socialism/communism and the new incarnation of the Final Solution (once deemed as a bridge too far even for the most rabid of the American Left) and it has come out in favor of lower-case insurrection in supporting efforts by radical Leftist judges to assume the powers of the presidency. It has openly taken the stance of not just objecting to but obstructing the enforcement of long-standing federal laws. Its howls of “WE ARE DEFENDING DEMOCRACY” are increasingly drowned out by its efforts to keep people from voting and trying to subvert the votes that have been cast. Everything the Left has done in the past few decades but especially in the last ten years has contributed to its increasing isolation from mainstream American values and thinking, holding on by the thinning thread of Identity Politics, till they are best represented by the edited photo I referred to in an earlier post of the polar bears on the tiny little ice island floating away all by itself.

So the effort to present an ad featuring a pretty blond girl as a symbol of Nazis and white supremacy is a blatantly obvious panicked effort to find something—-anything—to appeal to anyone not already part of its demented base.

Another example: The mayor of Arlington, Texas, became enraged at a “street preacher” who was, evidently, making statements that a certain element found upsetting. His response was to get in the man’s face in a threatening manner and tell him “I’d f**k your old lady in the *ss.”

      How did Libs respond? Guess.

A Christian preacher goes into a space he knows he is not accepted to provoke conflict. Whatever happens is his own fault. The Woke were not the ones who invented the Crybully, after all.
      ……….
Thank you Texas Mayor Jim Ross for standing up for sexual diversity.
      ……….
Do you realize how many people in our country become elated when they see behavior like this? It’s the same people who watch Colbert. They find humiliation to be very entertaining.
      ……….

(I’m wondering if this person thought the preacher was the one who was humiliated)

Just another footnote to the self-delusion (or more likely, simple lying) I am seeing when I look at the profiles of some of these hateful vicious Lefties—they love to claim to be on the Right, claim to be Republicans, etc. The author of the first quote describes himself as “Politics: Populist Right, American System” whatever that is supposed to mean. But as he is coming out against the First Amendment and the preacher’s right to free speech, I kinda doubt the “Right” and “American System” lies.

Restrictions on grants are great, but something that really has to be addressed is redundancy in “research”. This may be affected by cutting grant money, but universities all across the country are torturing animals in the name of “research” that is not only seldom if ever identified but is repeated by countless other schools. They apply for grant money for “research” and then set up “research” facilities, buy thousands of specially-bred beagles and then brutally cut their vocal cords (without anesthesia) to keep them from barking in agony, and then proceed to rake in millions while innocent animals are abused, in the name of “research”.

The system is backwards. Now it is “Here’s a lot of money if you can come up with a reason to spend it” when it should be “Prove that you have a legitimate reason for research and that it’s not being duplicated anywhere else and we will give you some money for it but will provide oversight”.

Good – but I note, also, that the GOP raised $81 million last quarter and the Dems $15 million. Looks like we know where the NGO money was actually going.

A Book You Need to Read

A good article and a book I will be ordering later today.

    • Mark Noonan's avatar Mark Noonan August 9, 2025 / 6:30 pm

Definitely looks like one to read – and the premise of Western stupidity is spot on. As I’ve said before, I’ve long thought about writing Unserious Men: the People Who Destroyed the West…basically it would be a catalogue of the fools who made all the mistakes. Maybe one day I will if my loathing for the subject matter cools enough to allow me to write without an obscenity every other sentence.

I can’t link to this article without revealing my personal email information as it is a subscriber firewall, so I will just copy the entire article with credit to the Bob Livingston Alerts newsletter.

I have had several conversations with friends about dislike for the growing dependence on AI, ranging from its substitution for humans in “customer service” meaning that any issue has to fit into a rigid template to be addressed to the obnoxious canned “articles” online that are so clearly assembled by AI that their templates are blatant and the style bland and often uninformative. We have wondered how many people are fooled by the plethora of “photographs” of wild animals approaching people to “ask for help” and even if this is a training exercise to train people to accept whatever is shown to them.

Livingston goes deeper than that: I have bolded the paragraphs that address issues that have already alarmed me although to be accurate I would have to bold the entire thing. I have often posted about the strategies of Leftist infiltration and propaganda, and this points out how this is accomplished through AI, and the push to accept AI as the new source of all credible information and, in my mind, the control over all information. (I was just explaining to a younger friend the origins of the saying “I’m sorry, Dave, but I can’t do that” from the movie “2001 A Space Odyssey” and its controlling computer Hal, and this ties in totally with that.)

Leopold Aschenbrenner, a 24-year-old former OpenAI employee, published “Situational Awareness: The Decade Ahead,” which New York magazine calls “an urgent manifesto about artificial intelligence.”

Why am I writing to you about this? Because Aschenbrenner suggests the technology could “structurally advance human health and alleviate poverty” but cautioning that he sees “no strong reason to believe AI will preferentially or structurally advance democracy and peace.”

    Indeed?

“Human health” according to whose dictates? Those who gave us the pandemic lockdowns? According to the pharma-medical-industrial complex who want death care for us all?

“Alleviate poverty” with whose methods and policies? Those who are governing our deteriorating and corrupt blue-run cities? Those who steal through taxes and borrowing from future generations to redistribute it via mass welfare for “the underprivileged,” foreign countries and illegals?

“Advance democracy” according to whose definition? We live in a constitutional republic, to the eternal sorrow of those who want everyone indoctrinated into the faith of “democracy” and liberalism.

Achieve “peace” according to whose endgame? Peace through total disarmament despite the 2nd Amendment? Peace through defunding the police? Peace through

In San Francisco, writer Ezra Klein says that people there talk about “feeling the A.G.I.,” [artificial general intelligence] and building smarter-than-human A.I. systems has become the explicit goal of some of Silicon Valley’s biggest companies. “Every week, I meet engineers and entrepreneurs working on A.I. who tell me that change — big change, world-shaking change, the kind of transformation we’ve never seen before — is just around the corner.”

    Whose Change, Exactly?

I will keep asking what will happen when “AI” (computer learning programs designed by biased humans) takes over all search, all information, and all avenues of learning? Who, exactly, is programming these machine learning models, what data are they learning from, and who is regulating that?

It seems we can see where the technocrats would take AI programming and implementation. We should not be importing communist-leaning Ivory Tower thinking into the conversation about “regulating” artificial intelligence. That would bring us full circle back to Google’s chatbots and computer-learning models “creating” their own “diverse” history and only regurgitating information written and conceived by Leftists.

Remember that when the politically powerful and wealthy meet annually to chart the course of world affairs — you know it as the Bilderberg Group meetings — the CEOs of artificial intelligence-related firms like Google DeepMind, Microsoft AI, Anthropic and Mistral AI are now among the elite “leaders” who are attendees.

And if you recall a mere 5 years ago, during the COVID lockdowns, we were told that anyone who did not adhere to the views of the elites and their media and political mouthpieces were, as Brownstone Institute scholar Gigi Forster writes, not only “wrong, but anyone who challenged the mainstream view … was labelled as a danger … a tinfoil-hat wearing conspiracy theorist wedded to wacko, fringe ideas. Probably a prepper. Or a cooker. Maybe a ‘religious nut-job.’ Almost surely a ‘far-right’ adherent, and probably racist to boot.

“In short, there was denigration, gaslighting, and suppression of dissenting (that is, diverse) voices on those topics, with this suppression of a core societal strength done in the name of preserving the health and strength of society. That sounds ironic, but it’s a well-worn playbook from history. This is the same trick that has been pulled in other historical tragedies, from the Cultural Revolution to the rise of the Third Reich.”

It’s more of the same regarding the so-called “rise of AI.” Are we listening to accountants and lawyers to understand what is “lawful?” We know that the system owns these people. They must worship at the feet of the altar of the system or be disbarred. Whatever they tell you conforms to the system. Are we listening to the directed messages on AI and the dreams of a utopian Leftist society, coming from the fantasy world of the technocracy? There is no human freedom to be found there.

With biased Artificial General Intelligence models and their chatbots, all knowledge, methods, solutions, advice, definitions and so forth that used to be shared freely on any topic no longer will be, to send knowledge down the memory hole and replace it with the solution that makes the transfer of wealth and power away from the producers and savers the most complete.

Faith in technology is a false hope, not because of the technology itself but because of who is doing the programming. We should teach our children ourselves. They must be rescued from the public (non)education system, which teaches them fake diversity, equity and inclusion (in reality, special privileges, total compliance, and fealty to the state) and propagandizes them against their rights in the name of egalitarianism and socialism. If the technocrats have their way, we will have a dumbing-down to the perfect level of obedience.

Even Musk is acknowledging this – noting that Grok really shouldn’t be using Wikipedia as a source because it is heavily edited to support a Left Narrative…anything on Wikipedia that remotely relates to politics suffers from this (OTOH, non political subjects can still have some useful information to be gleaned). All AI programs are, well, programs – some human being told it what to do. Nobody is totally unbiased so even the most honest AI program will have a bias in it…but my bet is that all of them hold the New York Times to be a reliable source…same thing with articles in places like The Lancet and other Establishment prestige outlets…but what has been in the NY Times and The Lancet for decades has been drivel. It isn’t a matter of these sources having error or some times getting it wrong – they systemically lie about everything under the sun. This is why even Grok will not concede there are two genders – ask it any way you like and while it will not definitively subscribe to the trans agenda, it will not dispose of it. Why? Because it holds that Establishment sources are reliable – it won’t say, because it hasn’t been programmed to say, that the Establishment sources are inherently unreliable. To make an AI that would be long-term useful for human use, you’d have to program it to say there are only two genders and to discard as false any assertion to the contrary…won’t happen. Too much heartache even if the programmers aren’t Leftist fanatics.

But the problem we have is that youth, especially, is relying on AI in various forms. We’re losing the ability to impart hard facts to the younger generation…they won’t read the old books and the new AI doesn’t reference what is reliably known.
