I didn’t know much about Charlie Kirk. To me he was just one in a series of names pushing the cause forward…but I don’t watch much TV nor, since Rush died, listen to much political radio. Podcasts and such are almost alien to me. But all day I’ve been finding large numbers of people do listen to him…like everyone knows exactly who he is and enjoyed his show. The reason? “He just talks with people and its cool”. My wife is quite devastated over his murder – and she’s the archetype of moderate, Trump-skeptical, decent human being who just wants us all to get along.
This is an exceptionally radicalizing moment in America. The murder of Iryna Zarutska is pretty watershed but this one seems to be striking home a lot harder. Kirk just talked. That’s it. Sure, the Left says he’s a hate-filled neo-Nazi existential threat…but that’s a lie.
It is also why Kirk is now dead. As I’ve said again and again – hardly anyone is swayed by lunatic rhetoric. But some are. In a nation of 340 million people, if even one tenth of one percent are convinced of your insanity that works out to 340,000 lunatics primed to kill. They’ve been told that we on the MAGA side are pure evil and an existential threat. And just what do you do to an existential threat? You kill it as soon as you can. And we likely have millions out there willing to kill…believing they must kill.
We’ve been at this crossroads before:

This is a contemporary depiction of the caning of Senator Charles Sumner on the Senate floor by Representative Preston Brooks. It was, of itself, a terrible deed but what outraged the North was the overwhelming approval of the beating in the South. Sumner, of course, was a radical abolitionist and so was very much hated in the South…but people, until the beating, figured that most Southerners were reasonable people who some sort of agreement could be made. The applause for Brooks’ attack was a wake up call in the North…a time to realize that the leaders of the Slave Power weren’t interested in compromise but in domination. From that point on, Northern attitudes hardened and there became no chance of another 1820 or 1850 Compromise because the North felt that any such thing was surrender to threat. The murder of Charlie Kirk is our wake up call – they want us dead.
We are, sadly, on the brink of another Civil War. One which won’t have clear battle lines as we started with in 1861…it will be political violence all over the country and all at once. We can, just perhaps, stop it from happening – but as of today, I have little confidence we’re getting out of this without bloodshed. The 340,000 insane Leftist killers are out there…already primed and ready to go…and doubtless being backed by foreign actors who would love for America to fall into chaos. I have no doubt at all that Trump, Vance, Rubio and Hegseth are going to be continually targeted…and if they can’t get close to them, the Left will go after anyone on the Right whom they can reach. And, eventually, our side will shoot back…and shoot back a lot more than they were ever shot at.
I hope we can still get out of it – that Trump and his team can do it. I pray for our poor country.
It is time for good men, to do bad things.
Reading through X this morning … the left has learned nothing and are doubling down blaming Charlie for his own demise. This is fucking war. Get in their faces and argue and never let any liberal feel comfortable in your presence. They are truly soulless and evil people. Treat them accordingly
I do very little social media but on Next Door looking for a handyman I found a LOT of posts on this assassination, and nearly all were outraged, grief-stricken and pissed off. The few feeble voices that tried to promote the Left’s foul and toxic messaging were shouted down. A couple tried to deflect into “gun control” and I finally said fine, clearly we DO need new gun control laws. I suggested that we start with banning gun ownership by Leftists and see how that affects gun violence in this country. Crickets. But I did see a couple of tradesmen say not to even call them to do work if you’re a Liberal (leading to sniveling about “free speech” but telegraphing, to me anyway, the awareness on some level that if you alienate the productive people with actual skill sets you are in deep doodoo) and one manager of a large housing development lowered all its flags to half mast.
I thought that open antisemitism would be the death knell of the American Left, setting up a line of demarcation and forcing decent Dems to step away from the party, but the rank and file seemed fine with that. Maybe this, the assassination of a kind, gentle, dedicated man just because of his peaceful message of examining belief systems, might be the real turning point. I have a feeling this will move more college students than anything else. The deeply indoctrinated are immovable, but the normals were already moving to Charlie and I think this will accelerate that.
How do you explain to people that you share the political philosophy with people whose views are so abhorent that they have to resort to assassinating their adversaries and removing them from th ballot? Sorry, rhetorical question.
We have to stop pretending that they are just a political opposition.
It does help that they seem to be self-immolating.
As usual, Coffee & Covid has an insightful and sobering take on the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
I was also reminded of Yamamoto’s comment, and kept thinking that the choice of name for Charlie’s group might have been a prophecy, as this could easily turn out to be the turning point of American politics.
The Left is in so deep they don’t even seem to realize the depravity of their territory. The Usual Suspects are still trying to gain traction, but it’s hard to imagine them being even remotely appealing to even a segment of their prior audiences.
They freaked out when Lamar Jackson retweeted a Charlie Kirk post saying “It’s all about Jesus”, finding it necessary to “explain” this (“giving him the benefit of the doubt”—a doubt which exists only on the Loony Left) while at least one person wanted Jackson punished for daring to quote Kirk:
The MadCow herself, Rachel, tries valiantly to spin and deflect, going back to some highly questionable “bomb threats” against Clinton and Obama in 2018 to try to link the Right to political violence. She explains that “the Republican” (as she refers to Trump) “flunked his leadership challenge”. Well, I read the full transcript of his statement and I thought it was an example of what leadership looks like:
Naturally, she and her fellow degenerates are upset by the promise to “ find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity, and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it, as well as those who go after our judges, law enforcement officials, and everyone else who brings order to our country.” Into that I read panic, not outrage.
As usual, Dr. Malone is succinct and accurate. Among his other comments:
Good Friday was the day
Of the prodigy and crime,
When they killed him in his pity,
When they killed him in his prime
Of clemency and calm—
When with yearning he was filled
To redeem the evil-willed,
And, though conqueror, be kind;
But they killed him in his kindness,
In their madness and their blindness,
And they killed him from behind.
There is sobbing of the strong,
And a pall upon the land;
But the People in their weeping
Bare the iron hand:
Beware the People weeping
When they bare the iron hand.
He lieth in his blood—
The father in his face;
They have killed him, the Forgiver—
The Avenger takes his place,
The Avenger wisely stern,
Who in righteousness shall do
What heavens call him to,
And the parricides remand;
For they killed him in his kindness,
In their madness and their blindness.
And his blood is on their hand.
There is sobbing of the strong,
And a pall upon the land;
But the People in their weeping
Bare the iron hand:
Beware the People weeping
When they bare the iron hand.
rocks, pretending there is something even remotely approaching the near vicinity of the zip code of equivalency is delusional. You know it’s delusional but you have to just pretend and ‘preen for the cameras’. Violence, political violence, is overwhelmingly an artifact of the left who believes power and ‘shut up’ justifies anything.
Stephen Kruiser writes in his article This Is a Good Time to Let the Haters Rot In Their Miserable Lives:
“I prefer to not give the trolls any oxygen. Many of them live for the attention they get from conservatives by saying or doing something ghastly. Leftists have an infinite capacity for being callous and offensive, and they get worse with each tragedy. We may think that they’ve reached bottom with their responses to Charlie Kirk’s murder, but there is no bottom for them.”
This is why I discourage any response to rocks, who has chosen to be the herpes of B4V and B4B before it. While his posts do reflect the rot he represents as a person, they are also pleadings for attention, so he posts offensive and/or false things just to get a response. There is no way to insult him, as any response will feed some aspect of his pathology.
In much the same way (and with the same level of disgust) that you sometimes have to shove your hand into a sink filled with scummy water to find out what is clogging the drain I have read some of the vitriol spewed by the haters, regarding Charlie Kirk, and I have found a common thread. That is, most howl that he “promoted violence” and “was happy to see children killed” to advance a Second Amendment agenda. So far, at least, what I have found is the desperate (and insane) determination to link his statement that yes, some people will be killed but it is still important to preserve the amendment to their deformed spin on this—to a defense of death from gunfire. to indifference to those deaths, even as approval of those deaths. Which they then further develop into “promoting violence”.
The filters in Leftist minds are convoluted and putrid, changing anything that passes through them into something foul that represents not what entered but only what it has acquired in its passage from exposure to the pathology of the person involved.
A sane mind, a normal mind (that is, not a Leftist mind) would hear Charlie admit that when guns are easily available yes, some will be used to kill people—but that this cannot be used to justify denying a Constitutional right—-and think “we are not willing to give up driving, even though thousands die in car wrecks every year, and some vehicles are used as weapons to kill others”. They would consider the fact that every vaccine ever invented has killed some people, but they would still find the risk worth it because of the value of vaccines. They might think “Prohibition tried to protect the nation from the dangers of alcohol and people still died from alcohol abuse, so we rescinded that amendment knowing that people will still die from using alcohol”. No sane normal person would claim that any of these thoughts was a callous indifference to death, much less a statement “promoting violence”.
Personally, I doubt that any of these people truly believes that Charlie was actually defending deaths from gun violence. I think they had developed a hatred for him because of his association with Trump and his impact on young people, and reverse-engineered the claim that they were reacting to his defense of the 2nd Amendment. They are posturing as people taking a principled moral stand, but they are really just wallowing in the ugliest level of Identity Politics. For one thing, the claim sounds canned—-it was picked up from some media person or propaganda source and recycled. I doubt that many, if any, of those parroting the “violent messaging” theme ever actually saw him speak or read anything he wrote. No, this is the media portrait of Charlie Kirk, slurped down by the mindless haters and recycled as a “justification” for their ghoulish reaction to his death.
Because we need to remember that once a Leftist has bought into the delusion that being a Leftist conveys morality there is nothing malignant enough, repugnant enough, to cancel out their smug moral certitude. Every one of these vile, virulent disgusting people is convinced that he or she is speaking Truth To Power from the dizzying heights of the Higher Moral Ground.
What he said.
Another guy posted on X that the Democrats won’t win another election in the next 30 years. I do believe this is going to be true – but I also commented on it that if they do, then it is time for us to go for secession. If after all of this the people of the USA decide that the Democrats are best, then I want nothing further to do with that electoral majority. I won’t hate them. I don’t want to fight them. But I don’t want to be associated with people who will decide that Democrats are to be in power.
If they do it’s our own damned fault for letting this toxic self-destructive Identity Politics crap continue to grow and fester and take over our nation. Let a Democrat run on his true ideology and see how far he gets. Let him run on a platform of denying individuality in favor of submitting it to a collective, let him run on consolidation of power in the hands of a few elites, let him run on going back to the concept of ruling from above from a massively powerful Central Authority, let him run on the actual record of Leftist governance when and where it has been in charge, and see if gets elected.
But let him run on the current Democrat strategy of appealing to people with a vague idea of wanting to be “good” by continuing their promise that being a Democrat is a shortcut to the Higher Moral Ground and we will lose the votes of people with a Tinkerbell concept of morality—“If you just wish it, it will be true”. Let him run on the current Politics of Personal Destruction, where opponents are characterized as evil and morality is shown by voting against them, and we will lose votes.
We have to admit that we are stuck with the fact that black voters will elect black politicians, no matter how blatantly stupid and unqualified they are. If we allow cysts of foreigners to exist, like the “communities” of Somalis or Mexicans, they will still vote in a bloc for Somalis or Mexicans. But overall, if we don’t get better at identifying and defining the true nature of Leftist governance they will come roaring back because there is no shortage of weak-minded people in this country with inner pathologies drawn to hate and/or flaccid wishes to be, or at least appear to be, virtuous without having to do any of the heavy lifting. The Left has hit on the perfect appeal to these people, a toxic hybrid of both, in which hating is virtuous and acting on hate is sanctified as proof of moral superiority.
The mass immigration of Somalis has certainly turned out to be a disaster…and going by who the Somalis invariably elect, I can only say that the Somali community in the USA hates our nation. Anyone objecting to this will have to find me a patriotic Somali politician. If there is one, I’ll be pleased – but I haven’t seen one. We are going to have to build the mechanisms to turn these people into patriots, or turn them out.
Who said this?
Charlie Kirk said this, just a few months ago.
I have commented on the smugness of the Leftist virtue signalers, so assured of their moral superiority, and now there is video of a couple of them. These slugs are the ones who refused to print posters for a Charlie Kirk memorial. Look at the smirk on the face of the cretin in the chair, and while no one that fat can be called a ‘mini-me” her backup was no better.

BTW, neither is now employed by Office Depot, and have inspired a company-wide memo.
Nothing has motivated me more than the murder of Charlie Kirk. I am more resolved than I have ever been towards restoring this country and in fact just ended a 15 year friendship. I HAD a friend who was a rabid Trump hater … always has been, but that never bothered me as I never thought he was real bright. He is the type that goes on to Facebook and rants about Trump being a pedophile, fascist, etc, and it was non stop. Well following a vile post of his regarding trump and Charlie I sent him a personal text that read
You had better choose your words more carefully from this point forward Mr Brock.
To which he posted a lengthy facebook post about how he was threatened and that he would no longer be commenting for a while. I was happy to hear that.
Democrats have crossed the rubicon and I will not relent until they are destroyed individually and collectively. Like Spook said …. I don’t want to know them or be friends with them. I AM DONE
It was hard to be friends, even when all you dared talk about was the weather and sports, but at least there was the feeling that you both wanted the same things, happiness, prosperity, and the sense that your children would have a better life than you did. You knew you disagreed with the means of achieving those things, but that was OK. Obama destroyed all that, especially the American Dream part. When I parted company with “friends” like that, it was like a dark cloud had been lifted from my life, and I discovered that most of our interaction was initiated by me, and when I stopped seeking them out, they just disappeared. Easiest divorce ever.
People of a certain age (now disparagingly dismissed as “boomers”) remember that JFK, while a Democrat, was openly a patriot who loved his country, and the sense I got even at my young and not-yet-political age (as well as looking back at him) is that while I disagreed with his basic Democrat concept that the government should be more involved in peoples’ lives he hated Socialism and was not seeking power for the sake of power. There was the sense that he would talk to people about ideas of how best to govern and the role of government.
There is now a feeling that his death was the result of his going against the hard-Left base of the party, as he was rational in his approach to Russia and Khrushchev, wanted out of Viet Nam, and wanted to lower taxes. We can look at his term in office and his assassination as the turning point in that era of American politics and the shifting of the identity of the Democrat Party, as it and LBJ dragged the nation into more war and bloodshed, higher taxes, much more government control via programs and policies (The War On Poverty) and we have been in a death spiral ever since. It leveled out a little bit, temporarily, with Reagan and the Contract With America (and we saw the effort to kill Reagan, too) and while there have been a few stuttering steps toward mitigating this lurch to the radical Left it has been pretty much an unbroken pattern.
And the biggest (and most sinister, to my mind) aspect of this is the destruction of the concept, by the Left, of discussion and debate of IDEAS, as the entire movement has been so successful in shifting what is still called “politics’ away from actual politics to mere emotion-based personality-based mudslinging unrelated to how best to govern the nation. The Left has been able to hide its true ideology behind its smokescreen of hate and hysteria and exercise of thoughts and behaviors never before accepted in American society as normal.
Charlie Kirk fought to bring thoughtful discourse back into politics, which is what made him such a threat to the Left. Because when and if people stop howling and hating and start talking and thinking the Left won’t stand a chance.
Talking about it is deadly to the Left – and Kirk played a huge role in the massive shift of 18-29 year old voters to the GOP last year…and it is a shift that is still on going and perhaps even accelerating. Nobody has to think about what happens to the Democrats if they lose the youth vote for a generation…they’re cooked. Now we need to have 10,000 Kirk’s bloom…and I think we’re going to get them. I have seen IRL people just upset and angry over his murder…just regular folks. People are now, for many for the first time, seeing the evil which is the basic characteristic of the Left.
Isn’t it funny how merely commenting on their nastiness is seen as a “threat”? Well, yeah, in a way it IS—the threat that someone might see them for who they really are. It reminds me of the time back in the B4B days when I asked Casper if the parents of his students knew what he was teaching them about the Constitution and he turned into a whimpering victim, accusing me of “trying to get him fired”. Which, of course, was not only projection on his part as I didn’t ever mention contacting any of the parents or reporting him, but more to the point a tacit admission that he WOULD probably be fired if his true beliefs and teachings came to light.
I tried to find posts by Charlie that supported any of the vile claims made about him, and all I could find was quotes that had been cited by someone, then edited down to a few words, then “explained” to the mushheads so they would know what he REALLY MEANT—and the translation from normal to Leftist then became the basis for the howling. A perfect example was what I think was probably an X post referring to a Kirk comment in which he specifically mentioned three members of Congress (as I remember, they were Crockett, Waters and maybe AOC) and saying he thought they were incompetent and unqualified to serve in Congress. Anyway, the huge, HUGE, all-caps bold headline was that he stated that black women were not smart enough or competent enough to be in Congress. (I am not quoting directly because I don’t feel like wading through that sewage again.) But it was a perfect example of how a reputation can be created out of scraps and fragments of actual statements, if manipulated by people who specialize in that. And, of course, of their cynical understanding of the intellectual and ethical limitations of their target audience.
When you do dip a toe in that cess pool, you can see a linear development of a theme. For example, if they start with a comment about specific black women and then connect that to an invented dot of disparaging all black women, then that can lead to disparaging all black people, then naturally to disparaging all people who are not white, which of course means that all other colors are inferior to whites, and SHAZAAM! you have yourself a white supremacist! If you can claim that this also means HATING anyone who is not white, you get extra points. And the mindless sheeple who are the base of the party never bother to find out if there is a true foundation for their yammering, they just get out their keyboards and start posting about how Charlie Kirk was a hater, a racist, a white supremacist, and BTW didn’t care how many people had to die as long as the Right could have their guns.
Once a demographic is trained to react to any stimulus provided by its masters, it takes very little to prompt a frenzy.
There was a silly joke back in grade school about a bunch of men in prison who, after telling the same jokes time after time, just numbered them, so one would say “23” and they would all laugh. This is how I see the Democrat base. Their trainers now just have to drop a trigger word and they all instantly respond with programmed vitriol and hysteria. And their conviction that they are actually “protesting hate” or some other argy-bargy gives them the moral certitude to be absolutely utterly vile, and smug about it.
rocks rather desperately wants to spin this into something not making him look so horrible doesn’t he?
One thing I noted is that within minutes of the arrest of the killer, social media was flooded with low-follower accounts saying a variation on, “he was a white gun lover from a GOP family”. This indicates two things:
1. There is an army of bots which had canned talking points ready to go.
2. Whoever paid for the bots to post knew who the shooter was before the arrest.
The Left is utter garbage…and with Kirk’s shooting and the Leftists who danced on his grave, nobody with any sense or even the least bit of decency can remain with the Left. Some people are trying to twist and turn into finding a way to remain Left after this…but even as they do it, they know they’re trying to remain aligned with evil people. It is interesting – and a bit sickening – to watch.
Oh, is that your interpretation of Mark’s hypocrisy on this topic?
You’re the only hypocrite here.
Such an intelligent response, RDM. Explain to me the moral principle at work in joking about someone getting attacked by an intruder in his home, resulting in a fractured skull, as Mark did.
He’s been trying to accomplish this for at least two decades, through a series of new aliases as he has gotten kicked off over and over again. He’s obsessed.
