Our enemies – foreign and domestic – are upset that an American sub sank an Iranian warship. It was sneaky!

Like, do you guys even know what a submarine is for?

For the record: it doesn’t matter if the ship was armed. Doesn’t matter if it was close or far from home. It was a warship – it was a target. It was sunk and that’s all there is to it…if you’re upset about it then I direct you to complain to the nearest Mullah hiding in an Iranian tunnel…they sent that ship to see in whatever condition it was. It should have been fully ready for war – warships are always supposed to be fully ready for war. If they’re not, then the commanders of those ships are the criminals, not the people who destroyed them.

Some people are saying that the Geneva Convention requires us to rescue the survivors of a torpedoing and to that I answer…what the heck are you talking about? The Conventions don’t mention submarine warfare and, indeed, it is the one area of warfare which has practically no treaty or legal coverage. Deliberately so: no nation which employs submarines would ever limit them…they are there to suddenly destroy, without warning and then sail away to find the next target. Warning the target or bringing succor to the survivors merely makes submarine warfare useless. This was disposed of as an argument by the Nuremburg tribunals where we tried to nail Doenitz for unrestricted submarine warfare – no less than Fleet Admiral Nimitz scotched that by pointing out to the tribunal that he had issued the exact same orders right after Pearl Harbor. Maybe subs should never have happened – but they did and in war time, their targets are anything on the seas. Anything. At any time.

We are being treated to a heavy dose of defeatist propaganda. Well, we are if we listen…as for me, I’ve muted most accounts on X which start off with “breaking” because I’ve found that what comes after is 99% nonsense. Merest clickbait unsupported by facts or even by common sense.

How is the war going? We’re sending B-52s. We don’t send B-52s into an environment where the enemy in any way contests control of the air. They are great planes. We’ll probably be flying them into the 2040s…but they are no match for anything like a modern air defense system, let alone a modern fighter. They go in when the skies are clear and we have a large target we want heavily degraded. That’s how the war is going. That is how we know we’re winning.

We’re re-establishing full diplomatic relations with Venezuela if you want a clue about how this thing in Iran will come out. Turns out that being America actually gets results. We haven’t tried to be America since Truman fired MacArthur.

Noem got the boot…and a new job with Rubio’s State Department. So, she clearly upset Trump a bit, but not all the way. She has a clear shot to get herself back into good graces. We’ll see how she does in the new role. Meanwhile, Senator Mullin is named as replacement and he figures that the babies of illegals need to be deported, too. So, Democrats may have semi-collected a scalp here, but they’re not going to like it long term.

Trump has convened the greatest, most unlikely coalition of all time … Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, etc … all fighting together against a radical Islamist terrorist State. Who ever thought that would happen? Iran is thoroughly defeated, it is simply their pride fighting back now. Soon they will have no choice but to surrender and at that point, I hope the Iranian people don’t let us down. They need to rise up and take control.

Also because of this action, Russia and China have been seriously marginalized. Their cheap oil and armaments are gone. And if you haven’t noticed, China, Russia, and NK have not lifted one finger to help their “friends” in Iran.

    America is BACK.

So Russia is telling Iran “Go poke the bear, go on, give her a good jab, and we’ll watch to see what happens when she eats you.” Russia couldn’t care less about Iran, but wants the United States distracted enough to take our eyes off of Cuba, and is perfectly happy to send Iran in as cannon fodder. In the meantime, Trump has enough different kinds of leverage to put some pressure on Russia. Too many sources of oil are lining up with Trump for Russia to take too many chances at being cut off.

I spent some time in the opposition areas of X and, wow!, they are convinced that the US has lost thousands and has been totally defeated in the war…that Iran is striding from victory to victory and the war will soon be brought to America in death, destruction and starvation. Now, to be sure, the owners of the accounts are mere paid lying propagandists…but some of the comments have huge numbers of likes and reposts so lots of people are buying it.

And of course this is all The Jews fault!

Amazing what people will fall into…and yet another reason that we must restrict the franchise. Maybe in a century it can be expanded again, but for now it needs to be limited to working people with some semblance of education and common sense.

I am familiar with the spin put on events by the Left, but not that entire fictional events are being created. Are you saying that there are two entirely different universes being posited—that ours, in which the entire Iranian navy has been destroyed and we are picking off their missile launch sites one by one as they fire, after wiping out most of their potential leadership, with growing global support for our efforts, is only one and the other has us being defeated by a strong and successful Iranian military?

      • Mark Noonan's avatar Mark Noonan March 7, 2026 / 11:28 am

Yep – Iran’s “government” announced today that they won’t fire on the Gulf States any more…because, of course, they can’t…that ecosystem is saying it is because Iran has punished them so severely that they’ve learned not to ally themselves in the future with the Great Satan…they are saying every US base in the Gulf has been totally destroyed and all our forces are in hiding at least 1,000 miles away from Iran.

        It is just ridiculous.

Re: Noem, she didn’t do herself any favors and appears to be a complete narcissist. Also, her reluctance to immediately address the shootings in MN was a HUGE FAIL.

Trump gets this and all conservatives should by now, and that is … when shit happens, we need to be the first to the podium to explain it in adult like terms, before the childish media takes over. That’s politics 101

    • Amazona's avatar Amazona March 6, 2026 / 11:54 am

Noem seems to have some abilities, which I hope Trump can develop, but she also seems impulsive and narcissistic, and really bad at reading the room. Ever since she started her cosplaying as head of DHS, showing up in every photo op all decked out in the appropriate costume, I started thinking she thought she was laying the groundwork for a presidential run in 2028.

I’m paying more attention to Trump than to Noem on this–he is being measured and thoughtful, giving her some dignity instead of just kicking her to the curb while reinforcing his new aura of statesman rather than firebrand.

Jeff Childers has a more Noem-friendly take on this whole thing: “The timing shows Noem’s transfer wasn’t about Minnesota protestor shootings or seven-year-old affair allegations— it was about repositioning her for this specific role at this specific moment. Trump didn’t put Noem in charge of his new hemispheric security alliance because he thinks she’s a train wreck, or as though running Trump’s Monroe Doctrine project were a consolation prize.” He gives her the respect of assuming she will be “RUNNING” the project instead of just being the U.S. envoy—maybe my reading of “envoy” conveys less authority than Childers sees in it.

But in any case I think the whole thing is being handled very well, addressing a problem without destroying a person or telegraphing internal chaos in the administration. BTW the Childers article is, as usual, well worth reading.

I guess activist judges are everywhere but I was a little surprised to see this ruling going down in Indiana. Gotta hand it to leftist for creativity… even if it’s warped.

“In Indiana, a Marion County Superior Court judge issued a permanent injunction March 5 blocking enforcement of Indiana’s abortion ban on the outrageous claim that there is a so-called religious right to kill babies in abortions.”

I think this poses a dilemma. If a judge declares abortion a “religious right” then it would seem to imply, wherever government is pushing abortion they are by default illegally engaging in the establishment of religion, something explicitly prohibited in the constitution. Obviously, the implications of such a ruling extends far beyond Indiana. If this is not turned over quickly, every abortion ban becomes a target.

Indiana Right to Life President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Fichter issued this statement today on the ruling.

“For the court to rule that taking the life of an unborn child is an exercise of religious freedom is deeply distressing—and a perversion of the law’s intent.“ Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act was never intended to equate taking the life of an unborn child with religious expression in our state. While this current injunction is limited to the plaintiffs in the case only, if it withstands challenge, it will be exploited so anyone claiming a spiritual belief, even if personal and non-theistic, can justify taking a child’s life.

“We are encouraged by Attorney General Todd Rokita’s immediate move to appeal this injunction and pray it will be stayed during the appeal process.“Indiana Right to Life will continue in its work to make Indiana a model state in providing compassionate support for pregnant moms and protections for their unborn babies.”

Jesse Jacksons funeral was yesterday and of course Democrats turned it into a shit show of trump hatred and racism. Of course Jesse was nothing but a grifter so there is that, but what in the hell is wrong with these people?? They are not normal people. Here’s ol’ Joe spinning tales again

“I was the only white guy worked on the east side of Wilmington, Delaware. Matter of fact, they named the biggest swimming pool after me, the Biden swimming pool. Man, all kidding aside, I was one of only 13 lifeguards,” Biden said.

“I was the only white guy because I wanted to understand. I thought I knew the issues, but understand the individual persons,” Biden said.

“I remember, I had an old Chevette. Remember an all-state that halfback I played with. He said, Joe, you have a jerry can, you know, big five gallon. He said, can I borrow your car? I said, you got a car. Sure you borrow, what a jerry can for? He said, You dumb SOB, I’m going down to see my mother in North Carolina. I can’t stop at a gas station. I can’t stop at a gas station,” Biden said.”

Earlier this week, a Minnesota Democrat lawmaker urged studying “the benefits of shoplifting and retail theft.”
State Rep. Dave Pinto, D-St. Paul, said they should be studying the benefits of shoplifting and retail theft. “Perhaps people are relying on that,” he said.

This statement is foul on so may levels one has to wonder if following any law is totally arbitrary. For a politician to state that is even more egregious. Perhaps we should study the benefits of breaking & entering a politician’s home.

This is an effort to dismantle capitalism. Fox just showed a poll where 38% were favorable of socialism, now of course I believe that’s heavily influenced by the millions of foreign socialists who Democrats brought into the country, but that is the battle we fight. We have to make the American dream available again to turn this around …. Good paying jobs, affordable housing, and a recommitment to family and Faith.

You are right, but like moving into a house than has been abandoned and left to rot it’s not enough to say what has to be done to make it livable again without starting with the basics of cleaning it up, throwing out what is rotten and no longer functional, and disinfecting it. THEN you can start the building process.

He’s only one step away from getting rid of the stores altogether (wouldn’t they make great homeless shelters?) and just driving trucks of food and other products up to street corners and handing it out. If no one has to pay, why go through the charade of buildings, with maintenance and utilities and so on, and the pretense of hiring staff, when all that can be streamlined by just cutting out all the middlemen and going straight from warehouse to street?

COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC, but I have to give a shout out to my alma mater, Miami University (Miami of Ohio) for finishing the regular season 31-0 with a 110-108 overtime win over Ohio University last night.

The fact that they’re the only undefeated Division One team, and they’re only ranked 19th in the country reflects the fact that they probably didn’t play many top teams. It’ll be interesting to see how far they go in the tournament. There are four standout teams this year: Duke, Arizona, Michigan, and UConn. This could be one of those rare years when all four number one seeds make it to the Final four – OR, some 15 or 16 seed could get lucky and take one of the out early. Fun time of the year, kinda helps distract from all the crap that’s going on.

      • Mark Noonan's avatar Mark Noonan March 8, 2026 / 2:48 pm

That’s some good effort by the team

      • Retired Spook's avatar Retired Spook March 8, 2026 / 3:28 pm

Yeah, they’re one of only a handful of teams that have finished undefeated and won more than 30 games, mostly because the schedule has been expanded since the 1960s and 70s. The great UCLA teams that won 88 straight games (a record that still stands) had two back to back undefeated seasons from ’71 to ’73, but only won 26 games during the regular season. Kinda similar to the Indiana University football team that came out of nowhere and finished 16-0 this last season. Only one other team in history has done that: Yale in 1895.
