The ceasefire doesn’t seemed to have ceased much fire…but I’m gonna trust Trump on this as he’s earned that. Plus, one must understand a couple things:
- Iran hasn’t had a government since 1979. Its all just factions which have absolutely no consent of the governed. The Mullahs have been the primary faction but the whole thing is various politico-economic-religious groupings competing for power and wealth within Iran. When we went in and started decapitating this beast, it then fell to third and fourth tier members of these groups to pick up the torch, as it were. These people will be unsure of themselves, unsure of their fellow faction members and none of them will initially be able to impose their will upon everyone. So, when Trump talks of negotiating, he’s probably working in terms of trying to find the faction which can emerge triumphant and become the transitional government of Iran.
- The Mullahs did create the functional equivalent of the Hitler Youth and the Waffen SS in the Republican Guard. For 47 years now, this has drawn in Iranian youth (not all of it, but a substantial portion) and relentlessly propagandized them. Now, don’t get me wrong: this doesn’t mean they’re all true believers. One thing which should actually surprise nobody is that in 1945 when the Soviets started imposing Communism on eastern Germany, the people they found most apt to become bright, shining Commies were Hitler Youth leaders. Things like the Hitler Youth draw to leadership those who most want to be part of the Ruling Class…and they’ll turn on a dime if necessary to keep on the inside. But, also, you do create a class of True Believers…the kind of kids who were fighting to the last teenager in 1945. Iran has some of these as well. They will not accept a ceasefire…they’ll keep firing missiles until they run out of them or they’re killed.
- Trump’s goals are not what his critics think they are – they are highly strategic. And, in the end, the Mullahs were just in the way…Trump wants American control of the seas and global trade. That is the long term issue here…this means that Trump isn’t worried if a de-fanged, quasi-Mullah regime remains in Iran. American domination of the oceans and trade and, here ya go world, an open Hormuz courtesy of us, is the real end result. This does require a peaceful Iran, of course – and a destroyed Hezbollah, as well…and thus we haven’t agreed to a ceasefire in Lebanon.
We’ll see if he can pull several rabbits out of the hat here. I think he will.
The war has completely exposed how hollow NATO is and that European leadership is universally disgusting…even the so-called Right in Europe is mostly craven. Even if we get a change in government over the next few elections in Europe, we know that when push comes to shove, they’ll still side with the Globalists and the Islamists…and will continue Europe’s trajectory towards being overtly anti-Semitic. Sure, Labour only got 35% of the vote in 2024…but if you add up Labour and all the even worse parties in the UK, you find that more than 50% of the British people are evil and/or stupid. So, too, in France, Germany, Spain and on and on. Heck, there are rumors that the Turks provided the anti air weapons which shot down our jet last week. Not only do I want us out of NATO, I want us to become in policy overtly hostile to it. I might agree to some sort of alliance with Poland and Romania, but that is about it. But I’m also increasingly Isolationist…because the world is so disgusting. Even if currently governed by friendlies (like Japan and Israel) there is still the prospect that the next election will return a raving lunatic anti-American government…so, why sign in alliance with people who might vote to become America’s enemies? Better to cut it all out, build that 600 ship Navy and call it a day.
The bastard who stabbed Iryna was ruled not competent to stand trial – likely because the local establishment doesn’t want a trial at which it will come out just how hideously cruel and incompetent they are. The Feds say don’t worry too much – the murderer is in federal custody and they’ll be holding their own competency hearing. Meh. Look, guys, if a man can stab a defenseless woman to death then of course he’s insane…but he also knew exactly what he was doing. Such a man is precisely who you most want in jail for the rest of his life, if not executed. Its far more important to keep him locked up than it is to keep anyone else locked up…because that lunatic might just decide one moment that its time to stab again for no reason at all. And it doesn’t matter if you “cure” him in jail – he still has to stay locked up because (a) we can’t ever be totally sure of such a cure and (b) he took a life…if he is ever really cured, then the only they he’ll want is to sit in jail until death in atonement for his crime. If he ever wants out, then that is proof he ain’t cured.

Yep – when a Ruling Class person says something is “wrong” what they mean is “something I don’t like” and that really means “something which does not feed my base appetites”. They have no morality – not in the sense of a conscious worldview which decrees that some things are outside the pale of human action. We have to remember these people favor abortion to birth and assisted suicide…they will smile over a million corpses as long as they give something the Ruling Class wants.
Career politicians from both sides of aisle, are the people responsible for our country’s decline. Term limits are a must to save this country, as is a movement to require private sector experience before running for office. No more inexperienced morons making decisions for the rest of us. I also think we scale back the pensions and legacy benefits from politicians. We need a “fundamental transformation” of our political class.
I would just about say “Private sectors experience AFTER leaving office. No leaving your elected office then sliding immediately into a career bureaucrat. Heck, bring back the spoils system. EVERYTHING is open to be changed out. Entrenched careerists are a problem.
Term limits have broad support across all parties. I would also suggest that politicians be required to retire at 80.
Career politics is the bane of a Republic, that is for sure. Nancy Pelosi is finally exiting the stage in January of 2027 and that will be nearly 46 years in office. I was 16 when she first got in. I’m 61. And in that whole arc of her political life she simply went from bad to worse so that at the very end she sits upon a pile of stolen money in a dying State having ushered the Democratic Party into positions that are downright insane and anti-human. A career in politics almost always attracts the worst possible people – those who will say and do anything to get in and stay in. People whom the world would be better off if they had never been born. And don’t get me wrong: there are plenty of GOP examples of this – with the added twist that they’ll stab their own side in the back to stay at the trough. Only rarely do we find a career politician of intelligence and a sense of decency. And the bureaucrats have merely followed suit – entrenching themselves in office and helping those electeds who promise to reward the bureaucracy.
Ultimately, nobody should be allowed to work in the federal government – elected or appointive – for more than 20 total years. Complete turnover is the only way to ensure we don’t get this monster.
A bureaucracies first priority is to protect the bureaucracy, and the bigger it is, the more vigorous those efforts are. Zero based budgeting is also a HUGE problem. This is where if an agency does not spend all the money allocated to it in any particular fiscal year, they do not receive the automatic increase in the following years budget, which is completely backwards. The incentive should be on saving money, but this does explain why our government has NEVER spent less than the previous year. For 250 years, our government increased spending every single fucking year. The US Government is the largest employer in the world which is strange for a country built on the principle of small government.
I had a feeling that DOGE was intended to eventually move in the direction of abolishing zero based budgeting, as the size, scope and power of agencies were reduced and fraud and waste were uncovered and ended. Accomplishing this would make getting rid of zero based budgeting a natural next step.
I’m sorry to see those efforts slowing down, and hope this is just a calculation of a need to cool our jets a little till after the midterms, when it would be possible to crank it up and move agencies out of the Beltway, trim more fat out of their staffing, and slash even more fraud and waste.
On a really encouraging note, California may end up with a Republican Governor. Voters are finally waking up out there.

I’m wondering what affect Swalwell will have? Lets review:
He’s been an absolutely loyal foot soldier for the Democrats – doing everything they told him to do, on cue uttering the most ridiculous lies.
He’s wrecked in his quest to be governor of California by the eruption of a host of sexual misconduct allegations; this done because there are too many Democrats in the race and there’s a real risk that the contest in November might be between two Republicans and Democrats cannot afford to have a Republican – any Republican, even the softest, most RINO-y Republican – open the books.
But he’s being allowed to remain in the House (because if they boot him, there’s two black female Democrats who also have to go).
This is just such an obvious and hideous exercise of ruthless Ruling Class power. It doesn’t matter if the allegations against Swalwell are true or not – their revelation was clearly coordinated and timed just to get him out. To preserve Democrat prospects to retain power. This simply has to look very bad.
As for Swalwell, himself, so far he’s just going along with it…but you wonder: after lowering yourself that deeply into the gutter to be destroyed by those you serve has to be infuriating. Maybe he’ll speak up? After all, he’s no dirtier than any other Democrat in California and if they know about him, he knows about them.
To be fair to Swalwell, he had every reason to expect the same protections for his misdeeds that all Democrats receive when they circle the wagons to cover for sleaze, slime and corruption. What he did not expect was the calculation from On High, as you explain, that at least one Dem would have to be tossed overboard to change the percentages in the jungle primary, and that he was giving them an easy exit ramp. (Although if he or one of his advisors had gone through this calculation it would seem logical for Porter to be the one sacrificed, as as bad as Swalwell is she is even worse. Porter is so execrable that we have to wonder 1) what she has on the rest of the party there to force them to tolerate her, and/or 2) what else there is about Swalwell that hasn’t been revealed yet.) Though adultery, rape, sexual harassment and banging a Chinese spy while sitting on the Intelligence Committee is a pretty hard resume to top.
Swalwell’s political career is over, as it should be. In less than 48 hours he has gone from potential governor to nothing. I would not be surprised if he also resigns his position in the House, something Tony Gonzales should have done a couple of months ago.
But here’s what you need to consider – they all knew. The stories are shot through with variations on “as has been said in private about him for years”. And these aren’t accusations like the clearly false and insane claims made against Trump – they are detailed and corroborated. They all knew. They were all in on the conspiracy of silence…including the victims. Everyone was in on protecting Swalwell…until he was deemed superfluous. Only when he could no longer be used to retain or increase Democrat power was the axe dropped…and even then the Democrats are still trying to keep him in House because if he goes, the other two notorious crooks will have to go and that would made it much harder for the Democrats to gum up the House works.
This is your party, Cap – don’t get me wrong, we’ve got some major dripping sacks of **** on our side as well along with the usual run of cowards and grifters. But this was the entire Democrat power structure allowing a man to abuse as many women as he wanted – and to compromised by a Chinese honey pot – because he was a loyal foot soldier when it became time to vote for Democrat priorities. And after issuing those statements he went out and abused women…with the tacit approval of the Democrat party, including all the Democrat women and those weirdo chicks in the Handmaid robes.

Hey just a reminder about the new Pope … he has not said one word about all the Christians being massacred in Nigeria. Not one word. He’s a fraud and a weak Christian.
We had hopes for this Pope but he is a real disappointment. He started off with some lip service to the illusion of having a backbone but it didn’t last long.

The foreign policy apparatus of the Church has been entirely captured by Globalist forces – the thing is theologically sound, but in practice it is abetting the bad guys. This “both sides” stuff along with a condemnation of any fighting – even in self defense – is just what the Islamist doctor ordered. Part of this is that the Church is still very European and has yet to feel the ardor that is rapidly building in the Catholic communities of Africa and Asia. This will change over the next generation and I think we’ll be back more on even keel.
One of the problems is that capitalism in South America is not the same as capitalism in the United States, so the perception of a profit-based economy is very different there.
I am loving Trumps latest move … America will now close the Strait of Hormuz and direct all tankers to the Gulf of America to buy American oil. We have plenty so come one, come all, and never give Iran another petro dollar. Let them starve.
