An Interesting Thought

Some on the left have criticized my attacks on Obama, or my predictions of doom over the next four years, arguing that he hasn’t even taken office yet, and I should “give him a chance.”

Okay, there is something to be said about that. But, I’d like to suggest to the same liberals who claim Barack Obama will “unite this country” or “turn the economy” around to similarly recognize their lack of psychic abilities and stop arguing that he will do all these glorious things and “give him a chance” to actually do these things before declaring him a success.

Obama's Treasury Secretary Pick Evaded Taxes

Obama has totally botched his transition, with yet another one of his picks being under a dark ethical cloud. The latest is his pick for Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner, who failed to pay $34,000 in taxes from 2001-2004.

Most of the taxes were paid back shortly before he was “nominated,” after Obama’s transition team discovered it, but what really gets me is that they kept it quiet. For someone who claims be about openness and transparency, this proves that secrecy and lies will be common elements of Obama’s administration.

Obama's Terrorist Emancipation Proclamation

Obama deludes himself by thinking he comes even close to comparing with Abraham Lincoln, but I guess there is an interesting comparison to be made…

Abraham Lincoln, as we all know, signed the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed slaves in confederate states. Barack Obama want to sign an executive order (which we may as well call the Terrorist Emancipation Proclamation) to shut down the Guantanamo Bay military prison, where  hundreds of captured al Qaeda terrorists are incarcerated… a priority so important to him, he may do so on his first day of power.

President-elect Barack Obama is preparing to issue an executive order his first week in office — and perhaps his first day — to close the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, according to two presidential transition team advisers.

It’s unlikely the detention facility at the Navy base in Cuba will be closed anytime soon. In an interview last weekend, Obama said it would be “a challenge” to close it even within the first 100 days of his administration.

Looks like al Qaeda will have an ally in the Oval Office starting January 20th.

Obama The Socialist Picked A Socialist Climate Czar

Looks like birds of a feather do flock together.

Until last week, Carol M. Browner, President-elect Barack Obama’s pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for “global governance” and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.

By Thursday, Mrs. Browner’s name and biography had been removed from Socialist International’s Web page, though a photo of her speaking June 30 to the group’s congress in Greece was still available.

Socialist International, an umbrella group for many of the world’s social democratic political parties such as Britain’s Labor Party, says it supports socialism and is harshly critical of U.S. policies.

The group’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society, the organization’s action arm on climate change, says the developed world must reduce consumption and commit to binding and punitive limits on greenhouse gas emissions.

Mr. Obama, who has said action on climate change would be a priority in his administration, tapped Mrs. Browner last month to fill a new position as White House coordinator of climate and energy policies. The appointment does not need Senate confirmation.

Obama himself was once a member of the Socialist New Party. So really, this doesn’t surprise me one bit.

Obama's Preemptive Excuses For His Failures

Barack Obama was not one to hold back on doom & gloom characterizations of the economy, so why is it that only now he’s saying all the hope and change he promised will have to be scaled back?

[Comrade] Barack Obama said reviving the U.S. economy will require scaling back on his campaign promises and personal sacrifice from all Americans.

“I want to be realistic here, not everything that we talked about during the campaign are we going to be able to do on the pace we had hoped,” Obama said in an interview on ABC’s “This Week” program broadcast this morning. “Everybody’s going to have to give.”

Obama also said in the interview recorded yesterday that he wants stricter guidelines and greater transparency in spending the remaining $350 billion in the Troubled Asset Relief Program.

It is amazing how different campaign promises are from reality… especially for Barack Hussein Obama. His “hope and change” is looking a lot more like “nope and more of the same.”  It seems like we’re hearing a lot of preemptive excuses being given to explain why Obama is ultimately going to be a huge failure.

The Democratic Majority's Unemployment Legacy

In November 2006, the national unemployment rate was 4.4%. Republicans controlled Congress and the White House.

In December 2008, the national unemployment rate was 7.2%. Democrats had been in control of Congress for nearly two years.

Looking ahead the next two years, with Democrats controlling Congress and the White House, how wuch worse is it going to get and how long will it take for the voters to realize they made a mistake is November 2006 and November 2008?

Operation Election Steal

We’ve just seen how Democrats in power have turned a legitimate Republican victory for Norm Coleman into a stolen election for Al Franken… so this ought to be a warning to the Republican Party that they have to do a lot more to fight the Democrats attempts to steal elections across the country.

The highly publicized vote recount in the Minnesota Senate race between Democrat Al Franken and Republican Norm Coleman is shining a light on Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, the state’s chief election officer.

Ritchie is chairman of the Minnesota Canvassing Board, which on Monday certified that Franken received 225 more votes than Coleman did.

Ritchie gave partial credit for his 2006 election to a liberal 527 group, the Secretary of State Project, which says its goal is to “ensure fair, clean elections” by replacing conservative secretaries of state with liberal Democrats.

“I want to thank the Secretary of State Project and its thousands of grassroots donors for helping to push my campaign over the top,” Ritchie said in a posting on the project’s Web site. “Your wonderful support–both directly to my campaign and through generous expenditures by the strategic fund–helped me get our election reform message to Minnesota voters.”

The SoS Project says it spent a total of $500,000 in seven swing states in 2006 trying to get Democrats elected as secretaries of state. They achieved victories in all but two of those states–Michigan and Colorado–but helped fund Democratic wins in Ohio, Nevada, Minnesota, Iowa and New Mexico.

This blatant attempt to steal elections must be stopped.

Pelosi Shuts Out Republicans, Ends Era Of Fairness

Once again, so much for the so-called “most honest, most open, and most ethical Congress in history.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to re-write House rules today to ensure that the Republican minority is unable to have any influence on legislation. Pelosi’s proposals are so draconian, and will so polarize the Capitol, that any thought President-elect Obama has of bipartisan cooperation will be rendered impossible before he even takes office.

Pelosi’s rule changes — which may be voted on today — will reverse the fairness rules that were written around Newt Gingrich’s “Contract with America.”

Even our liberal friends here should be repulsed by this.

Richardson Pulls Out As Commerce Secretary

Citing an ongoing federal probe into a pay-to-play scandal, NM Governor Bill Richardson has withdrawn his name for Comrade Obama’s Commerce Secretary.

UPDATE, by Mark Noonan: Sorry, liberals – you thought that you had elected Selfless Liberals to save America from the effects of Chimpy McSmirk BusHitler…well, turns out you’ve placed in power a bunch of corrupt, partisan hacks and you’re now praying that Obama is actually clean, but there is that fact he arose out of the very sewer of Democrat corruption known as Chicago.

Have fun!

Most Active-Duty Service Members Uncertain or Pessimistic About Obama

Understandably so

When asked how they feel about President-elect Barack Obama as commander in chief, six out of 10 active-duty service members say they are uncertain or pessimistic, according to a Military Times survey.

In follow-up interviews, respondents expressed concerns about Obama’s lack of military service and experience leading men and women in uniform.

“Being that the Marine Corps can be sent anywhere in the world with the snap of his fingers, nobody has confidence in this guy as commander in chief,” said one lance corporal who asked not to be identified.

For eight years, members of the U.S. military have served under a Republican commander in chief who reflected their generally conservative views and led them to war in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Now, the troops face change not only at the very top of the chain of command, as Obama nears his Jan. 20 inauguration, but perhaps in mission, policy and values.

Sadly. we are going to learn the hard way that Obama has as much business being commander-in-chief as I have flying a rocket to Mars.
