Poll: Anybody But Obama, '12

Interesting:

…A new CNN / Opinion Research Poll out this afternoon of 953 registered voters nationally finds Obama tied at 47% with any Republican candidate. Gee, if only Wendell Willkie was still around.

The same poll also finds a clear majority of Americans now believe that Obama is a one-term president.

Other than that things are looking great for the 14-month-old Democrat administration, which is still celebrating Sunday’s passage of a massive healtcare bill that most Americans don’t seem to like…

The real kicker: 20% of Democrats think a new candidate might be a good idea.

Keep an eye on Hillary, Barry, old buddy…and don’t turn your back on her!

The Bond Market Doesn't Like ObamaCare

Its an economic catastrophe, boys and girls – a slow motion fiscal train wreck:

Not many people noticed amid the Democrats’ struggle to jam their health care bill through the House, but in recent weeks U.S. Treasury bonds have lost their status as the world’s safest investment.

The numbers are pretty clear. In February, Bloomberg News reports, Berkshire Hathaway sold two-year bonds with an interest rate lower than that on two-year Treasuries. A company run by a 79-year-old investor is a better credit risk, the markets are telling us, than the U.S. government…

…Democrats … may have been soothed by the Congressional Budget Office’s report that it would reduce federal deficits over the next 10 years. But bond buyers know that the Democrats gamed the CBO system to get a good score.

The realities, as former CBO Director Douglas Holtz-Eakin pointed out in The New York Times, are different. The real cost is disguised by the fact that the bill includes 10 years of revenue but only six years of spending. It includes $70 billion in premiums for long-term care that will have to be paid out later. It excludes $114 billion in discretionary spending needed to run the program. It includes nearly half a trillion dollars in unrealistic Medicare savings.

Holtz-Eakins’s bottom line: The bill will not lower deficits, but will raise them by $562 billion over 10 years. Treasury will have to borrow that money — and probably pay much higher interest than it’s paying now…

We’re already looking at $10 trillion in deficits over the next ten years – ObamaCare will increase this by at least 5%. Good job, Democrats! A bankrupt nation now has another massive, new spending program to cover.

Do you utter fools on the left have any conception of what you’ve done? In service to an antique ideal – things like government health date, as a concept, to the 1870’s – you have put the United States, already up to its ears in debt, further in the hole. And your predictions of improved care are just as stupid as your predictions of financial savings – go to the DMV: that is what health care will be like once ObamaCare is fully up and running.

Which is why we are going to repeal it – maybe not all at once, but in the by and by all that you have done to health care will have to be undone. There is simply no other way around it – we’re not about to destroy our nation because some dim wit of a liberal got a fixation about universal health care in college and won’t let facts or experience get in the way of a dream.

On Those Threats

My lord, listening to the left screaming about violent threats against Democrat members of Congress or Barack Obama really gets under my skin.

First, let me state that no threats of violence against anyone is condoned here. What I have a problem with is how the left acts like the alleged behaviors being reported on incessantly are somehow unique to conservative activists.

Zowblog has an extensive collection of  pictures of liberals advocating violence against and the death of President George W. Bush. These pictures show a level of extremism that is unimaginable…  How likely is it the same people who made signs calling for Bush to be shot are outraged today at reports of alleged violent threats at pro-Obamacare Democrats?

Also, let’s not forget that House GOP Whip Eric Cantor’s office was actually shot at Wednesday night. Not exactly getting the same degree of media attention is it? The fake story of racial slurs being shouted at the health care rally on Sunday is still getting more play.

Why don’t we all unite in a bipartisan call for civility in public debate?  You know, I’ve been physically attacked because of my politics, I get the seriousness of it all. But the left can’t label anti-Bush protesters calling for his violent death for eight years  “patriots” and then sing a different tune about alleged threats being made against some Democrats by a select few people.

Castro Loves Obamacare

If you needed another reason to hate Obamacare, Castro’s endorsement ought to do it for you.

It perhaps was not the endorsement President Barack Obama and the Democrats in Congress were looking for.

Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro on Thursday declared passage of American health care reform “a miracle” and a major victory for Obama’s presidency, but couldn’t help chide the United States for taking so long to enact what communist Cuba achieved decades ago.

“We consider health reform to have been an important battle and a success of his (Obama’s) government,” Castro wrote in an essay published in state media, adding that it would strengthen the president’s hand against lobbyists and “mercenaries.”

So, Castro and Obama have similar beliefs on what makes good health care… How many of you liberals would voluntarily go to Cuba for health care?

I thought so.

Investigate Obama's Corrupt Deals

The news:

Rep. Darrell Issa, the top Republican on the House Oversight committee, told CBS News Wednesday that he will call for a special prosecutor to investigate the White House if it does not address Rep. Joe Sestak’s claim that he was offered a federal job in exchange for dropping out of the Pennsylvania Senate primary.

“If the public doesn’t receive a satisfactory answer, the next step would be to call for a special prosecutor, which is well within the statute,” Issa (pictured) told Hotsheet.

The California Republican has been pushing for the White House to provide details of conversations between Sestak and administration officials in the wake of Sestak’s comment during a radio interview last month that he was offered a high-ranking administration job in exchange for dropping his primary challenge against Sen. Arlen Specter.

Tip of the iceberg, as far as I can see – wait until we really find out who was paid what to get ObamaCare passed!

Corrupt. Dishonest. Un-Constitutional: things you can call a Democrat and never be wrong.

Poll: 62% Want GOP to Keep Fighting ObamaCare

And this is a poll of adults, which probably understates GOP strength by 5-10 percentage points:

A CBS News poll released Wednesday finds that nearly two in three Americans want Republicans in Congress to continue to challenge parts of the health care reform bill…

…The poll finds that 62 percent want Congressional Republicans to keep challenging the bill, while 33 percent say they should not do so. Nearly nine in ten Republicans and two in three independents want the GOP to keep challenging. Even 41 percent of Democrats support continued challenges.

Democrats and their MSM stooges are out with the talking points and their poll – claiming that now the bill is passed, it is the GOP which is rocked on its heels. The “Party of No” is totally confused and doesn’t know where to turn – they’ve missed out on helping to pass the most stupendous bit of legislation in a generation! Democrats are going to campaign, hard, on all the good stuff the bill has while the poor, pathetic Republicans will just be wallowing in defeat…

So much for the Democrat talking points. All of it is pure fiction. The fact is that, really and for sure, a strong majority has been against ObamaCare since last Summer and there has been nothing done since that time to increase popular support – in fact, the way the bill was finally passed just made things worse.

For the GOP, the only question now is just how to present our opposition to the American people – and just what alternatives we’ll pledge to provide. Helping us along is such things as the error in the bill – natural when its 2,700 pages long and written by lobbyists and legislative aides – which actually puts off pre-existing condition protection until 2014. Obama was hyping that up when he signed the bill – and this shows that even he doesn’t know what the heck is in there…I guarantee that once its gone through with a fine toothed comb, we’re going to find errors, omissions and all kinds of corrupt deals.

The real election season doesn’t start until the end of Summer, of course – right now we’re just in the preliminaries. Such things as the rally in Searchlight, Nevada this Saturday – gearing up and setting the stage (I’ll be there, by the way – I hope to capture some video of it, but will certainly get photos…it’ll be up on B4V and Noonan For Nevada by Sunday, at the latest though I hope to get it on a lot faster…that will partially depend on Searchlight’s internet connections). Its message-crafting time; recruitment time; fund raising time…

Gonna be a really fun year.

Liberal Fascism in the Great White North

Goodness, Canada really is done for – the very last ounce of Vimy Ridge has been squeezed out of it:

A couple of days ago, I mentioned François Houle, the leftist apparatchik and provost of the University of Ottawa who threatened Ann Coulter with criminal prosecution before she’d even set foot on Canadian soil.

M. Houle warned Miss Coulter not to “promote hatred”. As this young lady points out in her report from the university, the only hate-promoter here is the buffoon Houle, whose barely veiled threats led to a gang of menacing Houligans (le mot juste) getting the event closed down. Alliances between the state’s ideological commissars and street mobs are a familiar feature of certain kinds of societies, and I suppose Canada will soon get used to its membership of this unlovely club. Ann Coulter says of her experience in the Great White North:

This has never, ever, ever happened before — even at the stupidest American university… Since I’ve arrived in Canada, I’ve been denounced on the floor of Parliament — which, by the way, is on my bucket list — my posters have been banned, I’ve been accused of committing a crime in a speech that I have not yet given, I was banned by the student council. So welcome to Canada!

In one of the oldest settled democracies on the planet, freedom of speech flickers very dimly…

The article goes on to quote a Canadian feminist to the effect that Canadians don’t think freedom is important – much more important is group conformity and permanent terror of falling in to Thought Crime. Sure, I paraphrased her – but that is what she said, when you get down to it.

Point blank, there is no freedom in Canada. What you can say and think is determined by narrow minded, leftist bigots. You can’t be partially free – you either are, or you aren’t. Right now, Canada isn’t.

The Slow-Motion Euro Collapse

The news:

Greece will default on its bonds “at some point” as the euro region fails to deal with its first major economic crisis, said Paul Donovan, deputy head of global economics at UBS Investment Bank.

“I think it’s in an impossible situation,” said Donovan, who is based in London, in an interview with Bloomberg Radio today. “Europe has failed to clear its first serious hurdle. If Europe can’t solve a small problem like this, how on earth is it going to solve the larger problem, which is the euro doesn’t work. It’s a bad idea.”

And:

Portugal’s credit grade was cut by Fitch Ratings for the first time, underscoring growing concern that Europe’s weakest economies will struggle to meet their debt commitments as finances deteriorate.

The rating was lowered one step to AA- with a “negative” outlook, Fitch said in a statement today, adding that further economic or fiscal underperformance this year or in 2011 may lead to another downgrade. The euro extended its decline, dropping against all but one of the 16 most-traded currencies. Portuguese stocks and bonds fell.

Its because you can’t borrow, print and spend your way in to economic prosperity. You also can’t afford bloated, socialistic welfare programs. The Euro-zone is starting to unravel – it can’t sustain itself and only a radical de-socialization of the continent will fix the problem…but the European populations have grown addicted to welfare and probably lack the spirit to try living as free men and women, again.

This is what the Democrats want to bring here – and with ObamaCare and the massive deficits, they want to fast-track us.

Violent TEA Partiers?

I call BS on all such stories. We know the stories of racial epithets at the Capitol on Sunday were false, and its my contention that all the more recent accusations are also false.

Yes, this includes Stupak’s voice mail – unless you can provide forensic evidence linking someone to it who has voted Republican in every election since 2004, I won’t believe its an actual conservative/Republican/TEA Party member doing it. Absent such proof, my presumption will be that its either a flat-out lunatic or, more likely, a false flag operation…such as has already happened many times since the Democrats first started to tremble in fear of the TEA Party.

Furthermore, we know from experience – and Matt from personal experience with union thugs – that the violence comes from the left. Unable to win an argument and knowing that if patriots get the truth out, they’re cooked, it is natural for the left to try either intimidation or slander to derail the opposition. They’ve tried intimidation, and it didn’t work – now they’re trying slander.

We’re on to your game, liberals, and we’re not having any of it.
