Waterboarding High Level Terrorists Kept This Country Safe

Once again. Obama and the Democrats are wrong,

The Obama administration’s top intelligence official privately told employees last week that “high value information” was obtained in interrogations that included harsh techniques approved by former President George W. Bush.

“A deeper understanding of the al-Qaida network” resulted, National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair said in the memo, in which he added, “I like to think I would not have approved those methods in the past.” The Associated Press obtained a copy.

Critics of the harsh methods—waterboarding, face slapping, sleep deprivation and other techniques—have called them torture. President Barack Obama said Tuesday they showed the United States “losing our moral bearings” and said they would not be used while he is in office. But he did not say whether he believed they worked.

Obama ordered the release of long-secret Bush-era documents on the subject last week, and Blair circulated his memo declaring that useful information was obtained at the same time.

In a public statement released the same day, Blair did not say that interrogations using the techniques had yielded useful information.

CNSNews reports that thanks “enhanced techniques” of interrogation, a 9/11-style attack on Los Angeles was thwarted.

The Central Intelligence Agency told CNSNews.com today that it stands by the assertion made in a May 30, 2005 Justice Department memo that the use of “enhanced techniques” of interrogation on al Qaeda leader Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM) — including the use of waterboarding — caused KSM to reveal information that allowed the U.S. government to thwart a planned attack on Los Angeles.

If Obama doesn’t want to protect this country from terrorist attacks, then he should consider a different job.

ACLJ Goes After Department of Homeland Security

And a good thing, too:

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), focusing on constitutional law, announced it is launching a national campaign today demanding that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) retract a warning it included in a recent report on domestic terrorism that labels pro-life supporters as ‘extremists.’

At the same time, the ACLJ is notifying all 50 states that the report – and the offensive warning – should not be used to curtail the First Amendment rights of pro-life supporters. Further, the ACLJ is supporting a call for Congressional hearings on the DHS report.

“The report creates a very troubling climate for those who want to exercise their constitutional rights to speak out about protecting the life of the unborn,” said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the ACLJ. “It’s now clear the DHS ignored its own internal concerns about this outrageous and inflammatory warning.”

” We’re very concerned that this disturbing report not be used by law enforcement agencies around the country to silence the legitimate First Amendment rights of pro-life supporters. The fact is that the DHS must retract this offensive reference. We also support the call for Congressional hearings to get to the bottom of this. The DHS report represents at the very least – bad judgment – and at worst – an Administration-backed effort to intimidate and silence pro-life supporters.”

I go with the latter – whatever Obama’s views on the matter may be, he has stocked his Administration with the kookiest of screwball pro-abortionists who are bent on using fascist measures to shut down the pro-life movement. They hate us and want us to shut up and go away – turning us into proto-terrorists is just one of the ways they hope to accomplish their goal.

Now, where are all you liberal civil libertarians who were shrieking bloody murder over President Bush’s signals intelligence program? To listen to you a year or two ago, the mere prospect of Uncle Sam listening to your phone calls was the slippery slope to fascism…now we’ve got the government actually using fascist methods against dissent. What will you do? Show the courage of your claimed convictions, or mumble excuses and prove to the world you are no supporters of freedom?

Planned Parenthood Covers Up Child Abuse

And do keep in mind that this horrific group is the beneficiary of taxpayer funds:

A counselor at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Memphis, TN was caught on hidden camera coaching a 14-year-old girl to lie to a judge so he would not find out about her 31-year-old boyfriend; the girl could then obtain a waiver for an abortion without her parents’ knowledge.

This is the sixth Planned Parenthood (PP) clinic implicated in a developing multi-state child abuse scandal, involving the deliberate suppression of evidence of statutory rape by PP employees.

Lila Rose, a 20-year-old UCLA student and president of the nonprofit Live Action, entered Planned Parenthood’s Memphis Health Center undercover and told a counselor that she was 14-years-old, pregnant by her 31-year-old “boyfriend”, and needed a secret abortion so her parents would not find out about her sexual relationship with the older man. Tennessee Code 37-1-605 requires health professionals to report suspected cases of sexual abuse of minors to law enforcement immediately.

The Planned Parenthood counselor tells Rose on camera, “Look, if we keep this conversation I’m gonna have to talk to my manager and yeah, [your boyfriend]’s gonna get in trouble,” but promises, “I’m not gonna tell anybody, ok?” She adds, “And please don’t say that I told you this.”

When Rose tells the counselor she thinks her boyfriend will get in trouble if her parents find out, the counselor advises Rose to lie about the man’s age when speaking to a judge in order to obtain a bypass of Tennessee’s parental consent law for abortion: “Don’t mention it. Just say you have a boyfriend 17 years old…whatever.”

They’ll gladly take racist donations, they help statutory rapists escape detection – this is a group we taxpayers should fund? What say you, liberals? I mean, don’t you have even the slightest queasy feeling here? You are allegedly just pro-choice as opposed to being pro-abortion – will you now at least admit that PP is pro-abortion?

It is no surprise at all that PP is like this – any group dedicated to procuring the death of innocent people will be a group wallowing in wickedness. What is sad is that so many people refuse to recognize what a disgrace Planned Parenthood is – one might as well wish to associate with a drug cartel as be with PP.

GOP Strength in Virginia

The bellweather of 1993 and 2005 – perhaps the bellweather of 2009? Time will tell:

Republican Bob McDonnell has lengthened his lead on all three Democratic hopefuls in the race to be Virginia’s next governor, but it’s a long way to Election Day.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds the closest race is between McDonnell, the former attorney general and lone GOP candidate, and Brian J. Moran, a former state delegate from Alexandria. McDonnell now leads Moran by 10 points, 44% to 34%.

The highest profile Democrat in the race is next. Terry McAuliffe, a longtime Clinton confidant and former national party chairman, trails McDonnell by 12 points, 45% to 33%.

State Delegate R. Creigh Deeds of Bath County continues to fare the worst against his Republican opponent. McDonnell leads Deeds by 15 points, 45% to 30%.

It is, indeed, a long way to election day – and the Democrats will pour in resources as it is understood throughout American politics that a GOP win in Virginia would signal a strong shift back to the GOP after our drubbing 2006-08…if we could also win New Jersey, then we’d be gearing up for quite a 2010. But, lets just take it one day at a time.

Meanwhile, if you want to help the GOP come back, here is Bob McDonnell’s website.

Sun Rises in West

The world has just gotta be spinning out of control when a conservative agrees with the 9th circuit:

Believe it or not, the Ninth Circuit Court ruled today that the second amendment restricts the powers of state and local governments to interfere with the individual right to gun ownership. The decison even observes that the right to bear arms is “deeply rooted in this Nation’s history and tradition.” Notes Cato Institute’s Ilya Shapiro, “I rarely get a chance to say this, but the Ninth Circuit gets it exactly right.”

I expect that within a few days Obama will appoint Dick Cheney to be Ambassador to the UN…

51% View Tea Parties Favorably

Per Rasmussen:

Fifty-one percent (51%) of Americans have a favorable view of the “tea parties” held nationwide last week, including 32% who say their view of the events is Very favorable.

Thirty-three percent (33%) hold an unfavorable opinion of the tea parties according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Fifteen percent (15%) are not sure.

While half the nation has a favorable opinion of last Wednesday’s events, the nation’s Political Class has a much dimmer view—just 13% of the political elite offered even a somewhat favorable assessment while 81% said the opposite. Among the Political Class, not a single survey respondent said they had a Very Favorable opinion of the events while 60% shared a Very Unfavorable assessment.

One-in-four adults (25%) say they personally know someone who attended a tea party protest. That figure includes just one percent (1%) of those in the Political Class.

No surprise that the political class is unenthused about a movement designed to curb the power of the political class. And, think about it: 51% like it right at the start and before the full effects of Obamunism are known. We could be sparking a second American Revolution.

Obama's Drop-In-The-Bucket Budget Cuts

By now you’ve heard all about Obama’s call to cut $100 million from the budget.

Imagine that. How bold. $100 million out of a $3.5 trillion budget. Wow. There’s the epitome of fiscal responsibility. Republicans justifiably mocked Obama’s so-called fiscal responsibility.

The GOP is not impressed with President Obama’s call to save $100 million.

The basic point is that Obama’s savings amount to a tiny portion of federal spending.

House Republican Whip Eric Cantor’s office sent out a note just a bit ago declaring, “More money has gone to Rep. John Murtha’s (D-PA) pet airport in Pennsylvania than the federal government will save over the next 90 days under President Obama.

“Money The President Says He Will Save Over The Next 90 Days: $100 Million

“Money That Rep. John Murtha Has Secured For His Pet Airport: $150 Million, Not Including The Nearly $1 Million In Stimulus Funding.”

John Boehner issued the followed statement in response to the news.

“The Administration’s new talk of trimming a meager .0025 percent from the $4 trillion federal budget just doesn’t square with its reckless record on borrowing and spending.  Washington Democrats have spent the past three months doling out more taxpayer dollars than every previous President combined, and the Administration is clearly feeling the heat.  If the Administration wants to get serious about cutting waste, it should start by taking a closer look at how millions in ‘stimulus’ dollars are being wasted on a skateboard park in Rhode Island, bike racks in Washington, D.C., highway studies instead of construction projects in Ohio, and programs led by housing agencies that routinely fail audits.

Gregory Mankiw, the former head of President George W. Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers, puts Obama’s call for $100 million in cuts into perspective:

Just to be clear: $100 million represents .003 percent of $3.5 trillion.

To put those numbers in perspective, imagine that the head of a household with annual spending of $100,000 called everyone in the family together to deal with a $34,000 budget shortfall. How much would he or she announce that spending had be cut? By $3 over the course of the year–approximately the cost of one latte at Starbucks. The other $33,997? We can put that on the family credit card and worry about it next year.

Obama: United States Is A Terrorist Nation

Okay, he didn’t say those words, but he sat idly by as Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega went on and on accusing our country of terrorism, without objection.

President Obama endured a 50-minute diatribe from socialist Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega that lashed out at a century of what he called terroristic U.S. aggression in Central America and included a rambling denunciation of the U.S.-imposed isolation of Cuba’s Communist government.

Obama sat mostly unmoved during the speech but at times jotted notes. The speech was part of the opening ceremonies at the fifth Summit of the Americas here.

Later, at a photo opportunity with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Obama held his tongue when asked what he thought about Ortega’s speech.

“It was 50 minutes long. That’s what I thought.”

Real nice. Just goes to show you that Obama, when overseas or out of the country, is on a Blame America World Tour, which may appease country’s that dislike us, but makes our country look weak and evil.

So, thank Obama for playing right into our ememies’ hands.

Obamunism Meets Mid-Term Fears

Seems that House Democrats are starting to figure out that while Obama’s personal numbers remain relatively high, Obamunism is falling flat, and taking Democrat popularity down with it:

President Obama is running into stiff Congressional resistance to his plans to raise money for his ambitious agenda, and the resulting hole in the budget is threatening a major health care overhaul and other policy initiatives.

The administration’s central revenue proposal — limiting the value of affluent Americans’ itemized deductions, including the one for charitable giving — fell flat in Congress, leaving the White House, at least for now, without $318 billion that it wants to set aside to help cover uninsured Americans. At the same time, lawmakers of both parties have warned against moving too quickly on a plan to auction carbon emission permits to produce more than $600 billion.

The unwillingness to embrace some of the major White House tax and revenue proposals has frustrated administration officials. They note that lawmakers, many of them supporters of the president’s ambitious agenda, clamor to hold down the deficit while balking at the proposals to finance his program.

Democrats liked the “tax cut for 95% of Americans” and want to run in 2010 on that…they don’t want to run on a trillion dollars in new taxes, as well as the likely double-digit unemployment we’ll still have in November of 2010. Remember, the prime motivator for senior Democrats is the retention and expansion of the power of senior Democrats – they might love Obama to distraction, but that won’t stop them from running for the hills if Obama’s plans will make it harder to retain and win seats in 2010. Democrat leaders are very aware to too swift and embrace of Clinton’s policies in 1993 played a large role in dooming them in 1994. Whatever else Pelosi, et al may want, what she wants most of all is to still be Speaker in 2011.

What I suspect will happen is a very large amount of bovine end products – Democrats will pass the laws for Obamunism and will just cook the books to show that they didn’t need a massive tax increase to pay for them…because Obama wants his plans in law, he’ll go along with it…and we’ll start printing money like no tomorrow. The only question, really, is when do we get hit with hyper-inflation – the economy is pretty dead right now, so you can print a substantial sum of money and not appear to be firing up inflation. For a while – eventually a massive increase in the money supply has to be matched by wealth or devaluation…ie, inflation.

Oh, there is one other question – will we GOPers return to power swiftly enough to prevent Obama from wrecking the country?
