"California's fiscal house is burning down"

So says California State Treasurer Bill Lockyer – and I believe he’s correct. With California’s State deficit possibly going to $40 billion over the next two years and one city already declaring itself bankrupt in a move which might well become a trend in California municipalities, we can say with some confidence that California, in large measure, is bankrupt. I also happen to think that not only is California bankrupt, but the United States and the entire world is broke. We’ve got this absurd financial house of cards which is “financed” by fiat money, the value of which can change minute by minute. The world is riddled with debt, a very large portion of which is actually unrecoverable (meaning that the options are to write it off, or figure out some way to loan money to the borrowers to pay off current debt holders and hope that no one ever figures out this is a Ponzi scheme). Resources are locked away at the behest of environmentalist kooks. Government confiscates wealth from some to give it to others. Aging populations equal a massive unfunded mandate around the world as fewer and fewer workers are depended upon to provide pensions for more and more retirees. The crunch has come – fake money and quasi-socialism have done all they can to mask the utter failure of the Statist-Corporatist model.

Time for a change. And not just hopeful change – but real change. A change which will put our fiscal house back in order with hard money, balanced budgets and a rigid adherence to sobriety in our financial decisions. The free ride is over, and its time to pay the piper. The good news is that the catastrophe isn’t permanent – unless we make it so, as FDR and his Democrats did back in the 1930’s.

As Obama Appoints Ever More Clintonistas

We can expect more of these skeletons to pop out of the closet:

Senate Republicans have requested information about Attorney General nominee Eric Holder’s role in the Elian Gonzalez controversy as part of a broad probe into his tenure with the Clinton administration and potential ties to presidential scandals during that era.

Eight of nine GOP members on the Senate Judiciary Committee wrote Clinton Presidential Library Director Terry Garner on Thursday to ask for 10 categories of material, including any information on Holder’s involvement with the Cuban boy seized by U.S. agents in April 2000.

This guy Holder, if confirmed, might redeem Janet Reno – she may longer be the worst Attorney General in all of human history. Reno was just the dimbulb asleep at the switch, Holder seems to have been the guy running the shop into the ground. Pardon Rich, send a poor boy back to slavery in Cuba…what’s next? Will we find out that Holder is the guy who passed on picking up bin Laden in 1998?

Perhaps we GOPers should agree to a do-over – just allow Obama to cancel everything he’s done since election night and start all over as if the last five weeks hadn’t happened. I’m a conservative who is gearing up to fight Obama tooth and nail on policy, but this is getting too easy…its like Obama wants to be a miserable failure.

Perhaps he really is a Rovian plant?

Kook Left: Still Crazy After All These Years

Geesh – let it go, already:

As the officials of the Bush administration pack up in Washington and move into their posh suburban homes around the country, will they be able to rest easy, or will they be haunted by the fear that they will be held accountable for war crimes committed during their reign?

And so the Bush Administration ends for the left – with yet another scream of mindless hatred.

Tell me, lefties, don’t you ever get tired of hating as much as you do?

What Media Bias? Part 138

From the Washington Post via Fishbowl DC:

WashingtonPost Media is at the epicenter of the inauguration, and the Classifieds team is giving readers the chance to send a personal message of congratulations to President-Elect Obama that can be read by millions. The announcements can be placed though the call center or online, with prices starting at $10 for the combo. TWP anticipates about 2,500 – 3,000 announcements will be posted, to appear in the January 20 inaugural issue and live online from today until President’s Day. This is a floating section, but users can find it via print and online promotions and through the global search bar.

Noted at the bottom of the advertisement:

All ads must be congratulatory in nature

We can’t even pay our own good money to dissent from Obama’s messianic coronation! Someone has to get some money together so we can rent a billboard somewhere in DC telling the Obamaniacs that we’re still out here – they sure as heck aren’t going to learn this from the Washington Post.

Senator Brownback (R-KS) to Retire From Senate

And perhaps run for governor:

Kansas Senator Sam Brownback will make it official Thursday. CNN.com reports Brownback will announce he plans to leave the Senate in 2010.

The move is not unexpected. Brownback is widely believed to be considering a run for governor.

Brownback is the second Republican senator to state he’s leaving Congress. Florida Senator Mel Martinez also announced plans to leave.

Brownback unsuccessfully ran for the GOP presidential nomination this year.

Brownback won a special election to fill the rest of Bob Dole’s senate term in 1996. Dole resigned to run for president, a race he lost. Brownback won election to a full term in 1998 and a second term in 2004. At the time, he said he would not seek a third-term.

If he decides to run for governor, Brownback will face competition from Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh. He is currently raising money as he explores his own campaign for governor.

Governor Kathleen Sebelius cannot run for a third-term under Kansas law. After dropping out of contention for a place in Barack Obama’s cabinet to focus on the economic problems in Kansas, Sebelius is believed to considering a run for the Senate in 2010.

So, Brownback keeps his word – becoming a rather rare politician – and will now try for governor, while the current governor may vie to replace him. Kansas could end up being very interesting in 2010.

Democrats Ministry of Truth in Action

He who controls the past, controls the present – seems that the State of Illinois has removed a picture of Obama and Blagojevich in close conversation from a State website. Meanwhile, a news story stating that Obama was to meet Blagojevich regarding his replacement also seems to have disappeared.

I realize that the entire left and the MSM (I know, same/same) have a vested interest in protecting Obama – understanding that if he’s a flop, the left is finished for good in the United States…but adding this to the creepy cult of personality about Obama, one gets a shiver down the spine, and a feeling of gratitude for the Founders and their wise provision for the ultimate defense of liberty.

Nancy Pelosi Makes Demands

Of Obama and Co:

In a recent conversation with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Rahm Emanuel offered some advice on a Democratic House leadership race. Pelosi’s response, according to several Democratic sources: It is “an internal House Democratic Caucus matter, and we’ll handle it.”

Democratic insiders say there’s no animosity between Pelosi and Emanuel, who’s leaving his post as chairman of the House Democratic Caucus to become the next White House chief of staff.

But the speaker is laying down the law nonetheless.

In talks with Emanuel and others, sources say, Pelosi has “set parameters” for what she wants from Barack Obama and his White House staff — no surprises, and no backdoor efforts to go around her and other Democratic leaders by cutting deals with moderate New Democrats or conservative Blue Dogs.

Specifically, Pelosi has told Emanuel that she wants to know when representatives of the incoming administration have any contact with her rank-and-file Democrats — and why, sources say.

Given that Pelosi is bereft of ideas other than mindless parroting of received liberal dogma, this can’t be a move to ensure ideological purity – its likely just a power play where Pelosi wants to be Queen of the Hill who is in the loop on all Obama legislative efforts, thus allowing Pelosi to be the dispenser of swag to the Democratic caucus. As a Speaker Pelosi has been a utter failure with even a weakened and lame-duck President Bush able to run rings around her – Pelosi wants an end to that.

This will be rather interesting to watch – Democrats have no ideas and they are mostly just a collection of corrupt special interests united in defense of abortion and in opposition to the GOP. Elitist and very self assured, Democrats view power as their birth right and with their coming take over on January 20th, the universe will be back into its right relationship – and they won’t really be thinking that they could lose down the road, as they have convinced themselves they didn’t lose in 1994, 2000, 2002 and 2004 but were, instead, the victims of a GOP dirty trick to which they are now wise. Arrogance and hubris are a toxic mix, and it will be slopping over the Democratic party as they come into power in January. The question will be how long before they start ripping each other to shreds, entirely uninterested in whatever it is we’re doing because, well, we’re the minority party and now all that talk of respecting the minority in politics is tossed aside.

Look for leaks, slander campaigns and an MSM which will be torn to pieces as each section of it is commandeered by an element of the Democratic party and is set athwart all other Democrats and parts of the MSM not on side.

Want to be a Global Warming Denier?

Then we’ve got just your thing:

“I think the deniers should put their names on a big list to be handed to future generations,” writes Smiths. “These are the people that screwed the planet.”

Very well, “Smiths”. The big list begins.

I’m in. Had it with this nonsense – biggest hoax since the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and lets just hope it doesn’t cost as much blood and treasure as that one did.

Rahm Emanuel Recorded 21 Times

By the Feds, in regards to the Obama Senate seat:

Sneed hears rumbles President-elect Barack Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, is reportedly on 21 different taped conversations by the feds — dealing with his boss’ vacant Senate seat!

A lot of chit-chat?

Hot air?

Or trouble?

• • To date: Rahm’s been mum. Stay tuned.

Its trouble, and why Obama is dodging the issue – I wonder if we can get a pool going on whether or not Emanuel will be CoS come January 20th…
