Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast

Obama may not be much of a churchgoer, but if you believe what he said this morning, he’s apparently all about the Word.

I wake up each morning and I say a brief prayer, and I spend a little time in scripture and devotion. And from time to time, friends of mine, some of who are here today, friends like Joel Hunter or T.D. Jakes, will come by the Oval Office or they’ll call on the phone or they’ll send me a email, and we’ll pray together, and they’ll pray for me and my family, and for our country.

Does anyone truly, honestly, sincerely, and wholeheartedly believe that Obama wakes up each morning to say a short prayer and spend even a half a second in scripture or devotion.

Does Obama really expect us to believe that? I guess if you still believe the earth is flat you might believe him.

And you know what else really gets me, almost as much as his ridiculous lie, is that President George W. Bush, a true believer and devout Christian, was often ridiculed by the left for his religious devotion. Yet Obama finds it politically advantageous to tout fake humility before a God higher than him.

Then you Neo demonstrate you bias and your ignorance once again. There is a big difference between being an agnostic and being an atheist.

I find it astonishing that you would presume so much about another person’s inner life. To call Obama a liar in this regard is treading on very dangerous ground. I criticized George W. Bush’s policies and often did so from a basis of biblical principle, but I never second-guessed his religious sincerity. I believe he was a genuine Christian and a fine father and family man.

When it comes to Obama you have all the same evidence: a dedicated family man with a wholesome family and a believable historical journey of faith. Just like George Bush, Barack Obama wasn’t always where he is now. His starting point was elsewhere, his path was a progression of faith and understanding, as it is with all of us.

There were those who ridiculed George W. Bush’s religious faith as being a matter of political expedience and called him a hypocrite. You are now standing on exactly the same ground they were.

BS as usual, or is it complete willful blindness?

remember KKKlintoon used to carry a HUGE bible weekly to “church” after cegaring monice.
that ended when his presidency did.

Obomba belonged to a racist black nationalist cult for OVER 20 years.
He is as much a “christian” as my dogs poop is.

    • Amazona February 4, 2012 / 10:19 pm

      “well said”????

      Bull pucky.

George W. Bush had a well-documented history of firm belief in God, often giving credit to his new faith for helping him overcome his drinking problem. He privately called in families of fallen military and prayed with them, he made faith an integral part of his life, and he was never a showboater about his religion but was firm and candid about its importance to him.

Barack Obama chose a church, finally, based (by his own admission) on its racism and twisted doctrine that Jesus was a black man, persecuted and killed by whites because of his color, which justifies and validates hatred of whites even now, 2000 years later.

Those close to him have said that when the Jeremiah Wright thing blew up, with comments about Obama being a racist because he sat in that congregation for 20 years while vicious anti-white hatred was preached, Michelle Obama insisted that no response be made because in fact Obama seldom attended the church, had joined it only to establish cred in the black community and as a Christian, and she did not want it known that his membership was a sham.

The choice of which church to use as a stalking horse for claimed Christian beliefs was based on its racism, but there is no evidence that Obama ever truly accepted any mainstream Christian doctrine.

In addition, once he was set up to use the church to claim Christianity, he didn’t go to other churches, either, not even when he moved in to the White House.

Only now is “religion” being used as a political tool—-misstating the teachings of Jesus to try to convince Christians that Christianity is really about collective salvation and not personal redemption, that charity really means taking what belongs to others to redistribute instead of making personal sacrifice to help the poor and needy, and now making his statement about the meaning of faith and prayer in his daily life.

“Does anyone truly, honestly, sincerely, and wholeheartedly believe that Obama wakes up each morning to say a short prayer and spend even a half a second in scripture or devotion.” – Matt

I do and I teach catechism and Sunday school in an extremely conservative church. In fact Matt just violated the Eighth Commandment. According to the parable of the good Samaritan, Obama is your neighbor Matt.

    The Eighth Commandment.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

    What does this mean?

We should fear and love God that we may not deceitfully belie, betray, slander, or defame our neighbor, but defend him, think and speak well of him, and put the best construction on everything.

So with no proof other than his own instincts, Matt has offered ” what else really gets me, almost as much as his ridiculous lie”.

    • mitch February 2, 2012 / 3:36 pm

      I think Matt’s Jewish.

      • dennis February 2, 2012 / 3:49 pm

The PROOF is this man sat for OVER 20 years in a hate filled racist black nationalist cult led by a maniac wright and chained to the ankle to faracan.
wright was his best friend, confidant, “pastor”, mentor.

He only resigned after winning the nomination and being told by his handlers to distance himself from the lunatic and racist cult.

how can you “teach” bible class when you have NO spiritual discernment. He is an admitted racist, drug user, accused homosexual, un renounced muslim, where is the proof he is a baptised, repentant, Christian?
      He said so??????

You don’t know what went on week in and week out in Wright’s church. I would bet there was a scripture reading even if the interpretation was mangled. Matt isn’t saying Obama misunderstands the readings. He says they do not occur.

Obama himself claims to be a baptized Christian. Ultimately there will be a judgement, but we don’t know the heart of others.

I meet people every day who firmly believe Christ is their Savior, died on the cross but they can not judge abortion. I can’t understand their inconsistency, nevertheless I do not doubt their trust. I meet people every day who are awaiting “The Rapture”. I think this works against the stewardship commands of God. Still, I don’t doubt their love toward neighbors.

      • neocon1 February 2, 2012 / 5:43 pm

The call not to “judge” is referring to a “BROTHER” ( a BAPTIZED CONFESSING REPENTANT CHRISTIAN) in CHRIST, not a SINNER,

In Matthew 7:2-5, Jesus warns against judging someone else for his sin when you yourself are sinning even worse. That is the kind of judging Jesus commanded us not to do. If a believer sees another believer sinning, it is his Christian duty to lovingly and respectfully confront the person with his sin (Matthew 18:15-17). This is not judging, but rather pointing out the truth in hope—and with the ultimate goal—of bringing repentance in the other person (James 5:20) and restoration to the fellowship. We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). We are to proclaim what God’s Word says about sin. 2 Timothy 4:2 instructs us, “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction.” We are to “judge” sin, but always with the goal of presenting the solution for sin and its consequences—the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

        we ARE to JUDGE SIN.

a million $$$ for a drug is insanity, it is more insane to ask/demand your struggling neighbors to pay it for YOU!

      • Amazona February 4, 2012 / 10:33 pm

Oh, Velma, your utter stupidity knows no bounds, does it?

Do you even READ the links you post here? Do you ever get past the first or second hate-filled lie to the eventual quote that proves it false?

No, all you feed on is the lie. It is the lie that nourishes your insane spite and malice, it is the lie that draws you and thrills you and gets you all eager to spread it.

Let’s just take a look at the lie you just posted, ‘K?

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum told the mother of a child with a rare genetic disorder on Tuesday that she shouldn’t have a problem paying $1 million a year for drugs because Apple’s iPad can cost around $900.

Now think about that for just a moment. Read it again. See what it says? It comes right out and SAYS Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum told the mother of a child with a rare genetic disorder on Tuesday that she shouldn’t have a problem paying $1 million a year for drugs because Apple’s iPad can cost around $900.

But you know what’s really funny? That’s not what Rick Santorum said at all. As a matter of fact, it is such a bizarre and gross distortion of what he said, it’s hard to believe that even a rabidly radical Lefty Loon could try to pass off what he said as being even close to said Loon’s claim.

        So what DID Santorum say?

Speaking to more than 400 people at Woodland Park, Colorado, the former Pennsylvania senator said that demand should set prices for drugs.

“People have no problem paying $900 for an iPad,” the candidate explained. “But paying $900 for a drug they have a problem with — it keeps you alive. Why? Because you’ve been conditioned to think health care is something you can get without having to pay for it.”

The mother replied that she could not afford her son’s medication, Abilify, which can cost as much as $1 million a year without health insurance.

“Look, I want your son and everybody to have the opportunity to stay alive on much-needed drugs,” Santorum insisted. “But the bottom line is, we have to give companies the incentive to make those drugs. And if they don’t have the incentive to make those drugs, your son won’t be alive and lots of other people in this country won’t be alive.”

“He’s alive today because drug companies provide care,” the candidate continued. “And if they didn’t think they could make money providing that drug, that drug wouldn’t be here. I sympathize with these compassionate cases. … I want your son to stay alive on much-needed drugs. Fact is, we need companies to have incentives to make drugs. If they don’t have incentives, they won’t make those drugs. We either believe in markets or we don’t.”

If you want to bleat about Christian hypocrisy, just take a look in the mirror. You claim to be a Christian yet you wallow in spite and malice, you ooze blind miserable hatred of people just because their political identity is one you have decided ought to be hated and maligned, you gloat over the sins and misfortunes of others, you appear to reject the whole concept of repentance and forgiveness, you gleefully spread malicious lies and gossip, and in general you have to be the worst example of a Christian I can imagine.

You’re not only a sad excuse for a Christian, you’re a sad excuse for a human being.

      • Amazona February 4, 2012 / 10:48 pm

The drug in question is Abilify. This kid must be living on the stuff if it will cost a million bucks a year without insurance.

Here’s a quote about one source for Abilify:

Bristol-Myers Squibb Patient Assistance Program For Abilify, a patient assistance program provided by Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, offers Abilify at no cost for up to 90 days to those who are eligible for the program. Eligibility is based off of the following requirements:
        – You must be a citizen of the United States or its Territories.
        – You must not be covered by any private, public, or Medicare Part D prescription coverage programs.
        – You must not be eligible for both Medicaid and Medicare
        – You must meet an undisclosed income guideline.
Those eligible for Medicare Part D but not enrolled may still be eligible.
The medication must be sent to the physicians office.

Abilify is a antipsychotic medication launched by Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in 2002. Abilify has been approved by the FDA for treatment of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia and manic depression. Abilify is administered in tablet form.

In addition, there is a generic form which is far less expensive than the proprietary brand name. One 30 MG tablet of Abilify might cost $8.38 while the generic form is only $1.52 for the same drug.

One source of brand name Abilify charges $1900 for 280 10mg tablets.

It would take a while to run up a million dollar drug bill for this drug.

But the lie in Velma’s link will live on long after the truth is outshouted by the liars.

      • Ryan Murphy February 5, 2012 / 9:39 am

Amazon: That means it would take something like 147,000 pills to get to a million dollars. That’s. . .a lot of pills. 403 a DAY, if that is supposed to be a year’s worth.

On Friday (Aug. 13) President Barack Obama continued HIS annual tradition of
holding an iftar dinner, the meal that breaks the dawn-to-dusk fast for Muslims
during the holy month of Ramadan, in the White House State Dining Room.

During the month of Ramadan, observant Muslims abstain from eating, drinking,
smoking and having sex from sunrise to sunset in order to purify themselves and
        concentrate on Islamic teachings.

Over 100 guests attended Friday’s iftar, including ambassadors and officials
from Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and other Muslim nations.

Just out of curiosity Neo, who have you listed to, if anybody your entire life? If appears that person is just as bad if not worse than Rev. Wright. You spew more hatred than just about anyone else here. What one religious branch teaches may not be the same as others, and what you have heard from Rev. Wrights clips that have played are without a doubt the very worst – which was the purpose of those who found them and made them public. But believe me, there are white ministers that preach just as much hatred. Just because a minister, rabbi, priest etc might preach a certain ideology doesn’t mean that every member in the church will take it as their own ideology.
“you will know them by their fruits” doesn’t just apply to Barack Obama – it applies to all of us. So, before you go judging another you might want to step back and look at all the truly hateful things you have posted for the past 3-4 years. It is not you place to judge another’s religious beliefs – God really doesn’t need your help. Or Matts or Tireds.

        New International Version (NIV)
3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

        2 Corinthians 11:12-15

        New International Version (NIV)

12 And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about. 13

For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. There are many interpretations of the Bible, and many verses that can be used to make a point. The case in point – this email I received last week. Entertaining, yes . . . but it kinda brings this home.

      Owning A Canadian

On her radio show, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance.
The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, written by a U.S. man, and posted on the Internet. It’s funny, as well as informative:

      Dear Dr. Laura:
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God’s Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them
that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination … End of
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God’s Laws and how to follow them.
      1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are from neighboring nations.
A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians?
      2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
      3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her
      period of Menstrual uncleanliness – Lev.15: 19-24.
The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take
      4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a
pleasing odor for the Lord – Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors.
They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
      5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death.
Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
      6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an
abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don’t agree. Can you settle this? Are there ‘degrees’ of abomination?
      7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses.
Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
      8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
      9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
      10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16.
Couldn’t we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I’m confident you can help.
Thank you again for reminding us that God’s word is eternal and unchanging.
      Your adoring fan,
James M. Kauffman, Ed.D. Professor Emeritus,

Typical sophistry from our resident intellectual flyweight.

The “letter” is a fraud that has been around since 2000 and is based on a lie since Dr. Laura didn’t make the declaration attributed to her. The “author” deliberately misrepresents Leviticus.

Levitical Law consists of three parts:

        1. The Moral Law – as in the Ten Commandments

        2. The Ceremonial Law – rituals and dietary rules which allowed the Chosen People to survive in the wilderness and laws God set up to distinguish the people of Israel (or Children of Abraham) from others.

        3. Judicial Law for the governing of the Old Nation of Israel.
The only part of the Levitical Law still binding is the Morale Law.
The ceremonial law applies no longer to Christians since the advent of Jesus, and is considered quaint to Jews.
The Judicial Law was for the governing of Old Israel; governmental entity that no longer exists.

      • Sunny February 3, 2012 / 5:53 pm

Well Bobby, it does not matter is the letter was written by an actual person – you missed the entire point. There are many things written in the Bible and one can search for the words that fit their opinions and feelings. However, it would not surprise me that Dr. Laura made such a statement. I have heard her make very similar statements over the years.

      • Bobby Hebb February 3, 2012 / 6:39 pm

        Dear Polly Pigdropping,
Oh, right, it doesn’t matter that Dr. Laura never said it, or that the letter is a fraud and factually wrong.

The only thing that matters is that you can twist what is in the Scriptures to mean something completely different than what is written and build a sophomoric argument to justify your deliberate misrepresentation.

And you think Christians are hypocrites? Nice.

      • RetiredSpook February 4, 2012 / 12:08 am

Well Bobby, it does not matter is the letter was written by an actual person – you missed the entire point.

Yeah, Bobby — you don’t seem to grasp this new concept of “fake but accurate”. Come on — get with the program.

Neo you are not intellectually capable of understanding my thoughts about the transcendent. God is an idea arrived at through deduction. A deduction based on presumptions, not verifiable facts. Ideas are conceptualized and then expressed in words. All words are metaphors. I do not anthropromorphize the god concept but I do recognize the possibility of a transcendent spiritual deity. An atheist rejects the idea of a god. An agnostic rejects religion as a vehicle to pay homage to said deity because implicit in this organized behavior is the presumption that “god” is human-like and demands worship.
As far as the rest of the tired, insane shit that you believe, get some help. You are sick.

do you believe this is all random?
is this all a result of a big bang of Hydrogen?
IF there are spirits, where did they come from?
do they believe in a GOD?

“get some help you are sick”. (spiritually)

      • mitch February 3, 2012 / 11:09 am

I never said there was no god, did I? In fact, i was very explicit about my understanding of the concept. Your problem is that you think linearly and you can’t get out of it through it. The physical world is a world of opposites and although that is where our bodes dwell, our minds do not. There are options but they require work to explore. You are a victim of your certainty. There is order in randomness but I do not think a creator was necessary. You do, because you live in a world of causality and duality. And just so you know, hydrogen was formed after the big bang.

      • neocon1 February 4, 2012 / 9:15 am

        the “BIG—-BANG” of WHAT?
a pinhead of “matter” (what matter?) exploded and the entire volume of the universe came from this pinhead?
Hydrogen was “formed” from WHAT?…. NOTHING?

and you claim you do not need faith to believe this stuff??

What is wrong with Barack’s prognosis and Barack’s cure?

Only this. It is the same old con, the same old shakedown that black hustlers have been running since the Kerner Commission blamed the riots in Harlem, Watts, Newark, Detroit and a hundred other cities on, as Nixon put it, “everybody but the rioters themselves.”

Was “white racism” really responsible for those black men looting auto dealerships and liquor stories, and burning down their own communities, as Otto Kerner said — that liberal icon until the feds put him away for bribery.

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America.

Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.

This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

      mental midgetry…

logic is great stuff…it is not by chance that we were given the power to reason, to examine evidence provided by our sense’s..and draw conclusions…i would not be inclined to lend my thought to this without a reasonable approach and logical conclusions…

that being said…is it sane…or logical…to believe that the mind of man…is the beginning and the ending…on its own merit…and that, by chance, all of this creation exists without purpose…having come from nothing…and which end results in…Nothing…

i think not…it is far more sane…and logical…to accept the existence of God…when in fact the truth of our existence without a complete, logical explanation to the alternative… is nonexistent, incomplete, and fails to answer some of the most significant questions

who are you, or i for that matter, to deny the wisdom and knowledge of the millions, if not tens of millions, of people who have lived before us…when in fact it cannot be shown that they were any less intelligent that we are today…the advances we have seen in the last 100 years in material products does not mean we are any smarter than those who lives 1000, or 2000 years ago…it only demonstrates the result of the application of such intelligence…over an extended period of time…it does not demonstrate that humans that preceded current generations were any less intelligent that today

to say it is so is a complete failure in logic and sound thought…to say the least

Obama’s behavior yesterday is even more disturbing than Nixon’s. Nixon at least respected the judicial branch enough to have his attorneys show up in court and follow procedure[.] … Nixon acknowledged the authority of the judicial branch even while he fought it. Obama, on the other hand, essentially said yesterday that the judicial branch has no power over him. He ordered his attorneys to stay away from the hearing. He didn’t petition a higher court in a legitimate attempt to stay the hearing[.] … Rather than respecting the legal process, Obama went around the courts and tried to put political pressure directly on the Georgia Secretary of State. When that failed, he simply ignored the judicial branch completely.

the man may be sitting in the chair, but he isnt my president…the POTUS doesnt need to hide the truth…or commit fraud…or refuse to appear in court to prove he is eligible to be POTUS…the man himself is a fraud…not a president

      • Sunny February 3, 2012 / 4:47 pm

How so? The President has in no way committed treason. Why can’t conservatives discuss policies instead of attacking the president with totally bogus accusations? You are not a true American with such a narrow minded attitude. He sure is my president, and I am hoping he will be my president for a second term. Those running in the GOP are jokes. Newt wants to go to the moon, and I wish he and his home wrecker wife would do just that; poor Mitt just cannot seem to get his foot out of his mouth. I think his wife is lovely – but she certainly looked embarrassed and uncomfortable yesterday in one of The Donald’s casino’s while Mitt was being crown the king by Trump. I guess Trump’s trophy wife was too busy selling her junk on QVC to show up. What a joke the GOP has become.

      • neocon1 February 4, 2012 / 9:19 am

Velma is just a big old lump of snot, isn’t she? She may looooove Obama, but she sure hates everyone else, at least everyone she can associate with conservativism.

But you know what many of us have noticed? Here, on this political blog, she never talks about POLITICS. Oh, she bleats a lot about personality, and scandals, and regurgitates a lot of vicious lies about personalities and scandals, but not once has she ever simply laid out a vision of the best blueprint for governing the nation.

Nah, Vel don’t DO ideas. Velma just wallows in Vel-snot, and loves every slimy minute of it.

Here’s an example of what passes for political commentary from LAW-YAH Velma: “Newt wants to go to the moon, and I wish he and his home wrecker wife would do just that.”

Yep, and this is probably the most intellectual sentence this mental midget has ever been able to put together.

every government official appointed by him, and every act they directed, are invalid
every ambasador, and every treaty, appointed and signed by him, are void

the damage done by the usurpation of the office of POTUS is immeasurable, and a life in prison sentence is wholly justified in this case…as it is treason to usurp the constitution by fraudulently obtaining the office of POTUS

Go ahead, Velma—turn him in. I am sure that when you waddle into the Tulsa FBI office with a bundle of posts by neo, they will be thrilled to see you. After all, who could be more credible than someone with the litany of insane, hate-filled, lie-filled posts YOU have littered this blog with for so long?

Yeah, Vel—go for it. Then sit back while they look at what YOU post, and talk to your bosses and co-workers, and uncover the vile spite-and-malice machine that you are.

Do get back to us on this, OK? And remember, as a LAW-YAH you are an officer of the court and therefore legally required to report a crime if you see one, so failing to do so is a crime of its own. Now that you have identified neo’s posts as criminal, you must act.

Again, you be sure to keep us up to date on this……

  13. dennis February 3, 2012 / 2:53 pm

Js and neocon, there were many respected legal minds who felt George W. Bush’s presidency was invalid. However once he was inaugurated, the point became moot from a practical standpoint, even if not a philosophical one. Most people agreed that to pursue Bush’s removal from office would be more disruptive than productive of any good – even after he committed acts later that probably were sufficient grounds for impeachment.

In Obama’s case even if the facts clearly were as you believe, which is far from the case, simple pragmatism would dictate leaving well enough alone. These people in Georgia (and you here) are beating a dead horse. And that is not to even touch on the matter of courtesy and respect for the democratic process. Unlike Bush, Obama won the presidency by an uncontested majority of both the popular and electoral votes.

All of which makes your call for Obama’s death by hanging not only monumentally foolish, but treasonous as well. If you actually loved America as a patriot, you would be working toward healing and a more perfect union, not fomenting hatred and more division. Your best way to do that would be to offer America a better choice for president in the next election, not wishing ill on the one we have.

Are you sure that Mitt Romney is a legal citizen of the US? Wasn’t his father born in Mexico? What did he do to become a legal US citizen – and would that make Romney a citizen of Mexico since his father was born in Mexico? I think we need to see his birth certificate and that of his father and grandfather. We need to make sure he really is eligible to be President of the US. Maybe some idiotic person can start filing lawsuits against Romney to make sure he really is an US citizen. Really, how do we know he was born in the United States?

      • Amazona February 5, 2012 / 1:03 pm

From wikipedia: While (George) Romney was born in Mexico, he was still considered a viable and legal candidate for United States president. His Mormon grandfather and his three wives had fled to Mexico in 1886, but none of them ever relinquished U.S. citizenship. While the Constitution requires that a president must be a natural-born citizen, the first Congress of the United States in 1790 passed legislation stating: “The children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond the sea, or outside the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural-born citizens of the United States.” Romney and his family fled Mexico in 1912 prior to the Mexican Revolution.

Note that the legislation of 1790 clearly stated that a “natural born citizen” had to be born to citizens of the United States no matter where they were born.

It used to be kind of fun to point out Velma’s stupidity and errors, but now it is just more of the Same Old Same Old. You see the name Sunny on a post and the response is “How many mistakes in this one and just how stupid are they going to be?” (The default answers are “Lots” and “Really”.)

      • Sunny February 6, 2012 / 12:37 pm

“The children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond the sea, or outside the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural-born citizens of the United States.”

There you go – from the creepy, stalking Amazona woman. Obama is a legal Us citizen, born in the USA and legally eligible to be President of the US. His mother was born in the US – makes Obama a natural born citizen. Even if, as so many little minds want to believe, that he was born in Africa, he would still be a US natural born citizen.

      • tiredoflibbs February 6, 2012 / 1:30 pm

An accusation is not a conviction or in it’s self treason.
I believe the fraud that has perpetrated upon America by O is treason, but that is MY opinion as well as many others, IF he is ever CONVICTED of this crime I hope the method I mentioned is legally carried out.

strangely though, You did not seem to be concerned by the ACTUAL calls for Bush’s murder by the left though. Why is that?

Actually the suit has been found not to have merit and Obama has been judged a “natural born citizen” by the state of Georgia and will be on the ballot in 2012. Another colossal birther fail.

      • Amazona February 4, 2012 / 11:21 pm

major pain, perhaps you can explain to us why simply being born in Hawaii is supposed to make Obama a “natural born citizen” when the crux of the question of the definition is not where someone is born but whether the term demands that the person be born to parents who were also citizens at the time of the birth.

This has been stated over and over again and it is simply ignored.

But this is why the same issue has been raised regarding Rubio and Jindal. No one questions that both were born in the United States, but as both fathers were not U.S. citizens when the men were born, the “natural born citizen” issue has to be resolved regarding them as well.

If the Georgia judge really did rule that because he finds that Obama was born in Hawaii this makes him a “natural born citizen” it appears to prove nothing more than that he graduated second from the bottom of his class at Bertha’s School of Hair Design and Law. We know that Velma was at the bottom of that class, as she illustrates time and time again.

Anyone who has bothered to read the compelling, if not absolutely convincing, body of law and legal opinions about the source and meaning of the term “natural born citizen” knows it has nothing to do with where a person is born.

But then anyone who is capable of processing what is said would also know that neo did not advocate killing the President but only imposing the traditional penalty for treason after a conviction for same. It’s a PROCESS, you nincompoops!

  15. Sunny February 3, 2012 / 4:55 pm

“Obama may not be much of a churchgoer, , , ,”

Neither was President Ronald Reagan, but that didn’t and doesn’t seem to bother any one on the right that much. So why does it bother you that Obama is not much of a churchgoer? Because he is Barack Obama? Going to church does not make one a Christian. Some of the biggest hypocrites in the world sit in the front pews of churches every Sunday morning. They cheat on their wives, take money from organization that are despised, line their own pockets through unethical actions, fail to take care of their children and blame everyone else for their failures. What could be funnier than watching Velma lecture on what it means to be a Christian? According to her, it evidently means spreading malicious gossip, lying and repeating lies, operating from a basis of blind oozing hatred of others based on nothing more than her perception of their political identity, and rejecting the basic tenets of remorse, atonement, redemption and forgiveness.

But she does come down really hard against taking “.. money from organization (sic) that are despised…”—because you have to get really really specific, you know, when you are taking the Higher Moral Ground and condemning people.

I’m not quite sure what Commandment covers taking money from organizations that are despised, or even who gets to despise which organizations or on what grounds, but I’m sure Velma has all that covered.
