Are We There Yet?

Well again there are quite a few issues to address and I have trouble landing on just one, so consider this an open thread on a few issues du jour that are on my radar.

1. Immigration Reform – The brilliant Harry Reid announced today that immigration reform would be landing on the Senate Floor in the next work session possibly in April, meaning once again that Democrats will attempt to rush something through, as they did with the stimulus and the health care bill, which as we all know hasn’t turned out real well. Aside from that, it seems to me that entitlement reform and tax reform should take a much higher precedence than immigration reform. The main reason we continue to operate from continuing resolution to continuing resolution is because of Harry Reid’s gross irresponsibility in not passing a budget. This allows the Democrats of course to move from crisis to crisis and blame republicans for obstructionism. It’s insanity. But so is this entire government at the present time. Tax reform and entitlement reform are desperately needed.

2. Eric Holder should resign. Period. – This is a direct quote from our illustrious Attorney General:

“I am concerned that the size of some of these institutions become so large that it does become difficult for us to prosecute them when we are hit with indications that if we do prosecute — if we do bring a criminal charge — it will have a negative impact on the national economy, perhaps even the world economy,”

So perceived economic concerns now take precedent over adjudicating corporate crime. The Attorney General is responsible to uphold the laws of the country, not to evaluate economic impact. I have said before that the only regulation our federal government needs to effectively regulate the free market, is a fair and responsible Justice Dept. We now know that we don’t have one.

3. If anyone had any questions about cronyism within the Obama regime, this should remove all doubt. Close friend, Chicago elite, and former 2008 campaign bundler, Penny Pritzker is reported to be on the verge of being appointed to head up the Commerce Dept. Her qualifications? Being well connected, and raking in millions after over seeing the failure of Superior Bank in Chicago of which she ran. This appointment would be unconscionable and should raise HUGE red flags with every one. Of all the disappointing appointments Obama has made, this one would certainly be the icing on the cake.

Just an aside – the title “Are We There Yet” is a question directed to many Obama supporters wondering if they have finally come to the realization that what Obama promised with his soaring rhetoric, is far removed the results he is producing. If not, I wonder when that time comes for them.

There are many other issues of extreme import, so feel free to discuss what’s on your mind as well.

    NO!

Ochimpy should be impeached on multiple charges.
Holder should be under multiple indictments.
Hillary should be charged with dereliction of duty along with the kenyan.
Reid should be in a padded room.
and the DNC dissolved as a treasonous arm of CPUSA!

    OH

truth is not bigotry……. criminal trespass is not bigotry, I see no reason to attempt to woo those who pay no taxes, who live off the other 53% of us who work and pay for them.
We can only offer them what they have already rejected. FREEDOM and smaller government.
Things will change when the system collapses as planned. DNC/CPUSA (cloward piven strategy)

        WHO ARE THE PALESTINIANS?
        WHAT & WHERE is PALESTINE?

Please Note: The terms B.C. (Before Christ or Before the Christian Era) and A.D.(“Anno Domini” Latin for “In the Year of Our Lord”) have been replaced with B.C.E (Before Common, or Christian, Era) and C.E. (Common, or Christian, Era) so as to respect all visitors to this site. The terms are interchangeable and both are based upon the Gregorian Calendar.

These and other questions will be addressed more fully as you go through this website.

However, there is a preliminary historical fact that must be established now. There has never been a civilization or a nation referred to as “Palestine” and the very notion of a “Palestinian Arab nation” having ancient attachments to the Holy Land going back to time immemorial is one of the biggest hoaxes ever perpetrated upon the world!

There is not, nor has there ever been, a distinct “Palestinian” culture or language.
Further, there has never been a Palestinian state governed BY Arab Palestinians in history, nor was there ever a serious Arab-Palestinian national movement until 1964… three years BEFORE the Arabs of “Palestine” lost the West Bank [Judea and Samaria] and Gaza as a result of the 1967 Six-Day War (which the Arabs started).
Even the so-called leader of the “Palestinian” people, Yasser Arafat, is EGYPTIAN! In short, the so-called Arab “Palestinians” are a manufactured people…a people with no history and no authenticity… whose sole purpose for existence is to destroy the Jewish State!

Oh this is classic forker: “Neocon you want an echo chamber not a dialogue that results in solutions. What you have is anger that your “way of life” has changed into something that takes away privilege you used to enjoy.”

Ah, I see projection and then complete hypocrisy with the forker echoing the same “you have is anger that your “way of life” has changed into something that takes away privilege you used to enjoy.” like the rest of the mindless forker drones regurgitate.

“You are angry at having been a part of a failed US military incursion into southeast Asia.”

Thanks to PROGRESSIVE politicians who had no interest in winning wars just winning at the ballot box.

Desperate for postings on your ghost town of a “blog”. The land of make believe, the echo chamber know as the pitchfork is so desperate for participation, you have reverted back to the porn site you once were. Rousing debate? Get serious. There is no reason for debate there, just members regurgitating the same racist anti-religious (except Islam) crap as before. I do not believe yours (race based politics) are, – Mitch

See here we have a disconnect. I don’t care what liberals think of me. But strangely many liberals seem to think that their opinions matter oh so much, and that people should be concerned what liberals think of them.

      • mitchethekid March 21, 2013 / 12:36 pm

Then you confirm that liberals have the capacity for empathy and conservatives do not. Sociopaths also lack the capacity for empathy. On a physiological level, you are absent a brain chemical. I disagree that liberals (and the word is not a pejorative) are concerned what they think of others, or vise versa but in my experience, conservatives tend to be more reactionary, biased, rigid and defensive about it.

      • Cluster March 21, 2013 / 12:42 pm

conservatives tend to be more reactionary, biased, rigid and defensive about it.

Not at all. Conservatives are simply mature adults who realize that in a FREE world, people will be offended. Liberals are children, who tend to think that because conservatives are not the “mommy” types, who protect them from offenses, that somehow we are evil.

        Time to grow up Mitch.

What is this—-Libs Play Shrink Week?

mitche, you do yourself no favors by pretending to have some clinical insight into anyone else. You might be tickled at the chance to regurgitate what your own mental health people have told you, but you are simply making a fool of yourself.

Not that that ship has not already sailed.

And on top of that you are admitting to abject stupidity. No one said, implied, hinted or in any way CONFIRMED your utterly stupid claim that “….liberals have the capacity for empathy and conservatives do not..”

For one thing, if you have a brain you realize that “conservative” describes a POLITICAL stance, the belief that the United States of American should be governed according to its own Constitution. Evidently in that chaotic mess you call your brain this has something to do with the ability to relate to the conditions of others. ??????

You seem to be subscribing to the bigotry used as bait by the POLITICAL movement of Liberalism, which has to hide its reality behind a toxic mix of appeal to the intolerant, the bigoted, the gullible and the stupid

You are also using this as the shortcut to the Higher Moral Ground, where you can preen in supposed moral superiority because of your “EMPATHY” while doing nothing concrete to change things.

A platitude, which also happens to be true, began with the fuzzy-minded, well-meaning but emotion-blinded Left: “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.” But now the Left rejects this old mantra of theirs, in favor of “If you give a man half a fish a day for the rest of his life you feed his body and who cares about his dignity. If you want to teach a man to fish you are a cold heartless conservative bastid with no EMPATHY.”

I heard them described as reactionary conservatives, who refuse to accept the fundamental, irrevocable changing nature of politics and culture and who insist on returning to an idea of a past that never existed. They are a reincarnation of the Know Nothing party of the 1850’s, John Birchers and theocracts. Politics and culture are fluid, not solid.
        Carl Sagen once said:
” In science it often happens that scientists say, “You know that’s a really good argument; my position is mistaken,” and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn’t happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion.”

” I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion.””

And here I thought Carl SagAn was a smart guy. or at least an honest one.

In the academic world, I can point to David Horowitz as an example of one who has quite plainly said “..my position was mistaken..” when talking about his realization that the Left is not the bright sunshiny path to Utopia but a vicious and brutal system of government hiding behind feel-good platitudes. He has written about it and he talks about it quite often, though it is hard for him to get through a speech on any college campus, what with the intolerant Left heckling him and even physically attacking him on stage.

In the entertainment world, there is Dennis Miller as an example, a former Lib who saw the light.

And right here on the blog is lil’ old me, the former Unexamined Liberal who used to sound quite a bit like you guys, blithely mouthing all the Liberal pap I had unquestioningly accepted because it appealed to me emotionally. For me, what clicked off the emotional acceptance of Liberalism and clicked on the thought processes was the reaction of the Left to the women who accused Bill Clinton of various sexual assaults. The Left spun on a dime, when it was one of their own in the spotlight, from “every accuser needs to be respected and listened to” to “she’s too ugly to rape”.

Not to say there are only three of us, but it took less than a second to think of this three, just off the top of my head.

As for the stupid comment on religion, it looks like Carl was indulging his inner bigot. Surely we are all quite aware of the fact that millions upon millions of people either find religion—saying, in effect, that their prior belief systems were wrong—or convert from one religion to another.

The statement is stupid, it is a lie, and it reflects quite badly on Mr. SagAn. As for one who finds it worthy of repetition, well, this is about what we expect of you, mitche, always looking for something to support your intolerance and bigotry.

You guys are always good for a chuckle if nothing else. The problem as I see it, Sarah, is that you’re not really into ideas, just issues, and the more divisive the issue, the better. To play off the title of this thread; we aren’t quite “there yet”, but there will come a time when the majority of the public will tire of suffering as a result of divisive issues being used to buy their votes and yearn for ideas on how to actually make life better and advance the cause of civilization. The Left simply doesn’t do well in the arena of ideas, never has, never will. I hope it will happen in my lifetime, but it may not. BUT IT WILL HAPPEN.

Holder’s statement, though, should be taken seriously – the banks are “too big to fail” and “too big to prosecute”…which means they simply must go.

What I would do is forbid banks from working across State lines; forbid them from selling loans they write; force them to keep a cash reserve equal to 20% of their deposits…that would probably keep them from growing too large.

as we see from our resident proggy drones, no matter how badly obAMATEUR fails, they will still mindlessly support him without question. Remember, all the failures is someone else’s fault or its the tsunami, Arab spring, flooding, hurricanes, sequestration, global warming, or some other lame excuse etc. etc.

I remember reading how Truman had a sign on his desk “The Buck Stops Here”, but to the last two proggy pResidents, the Buck Never Gets There.

Kind of like you did with Bush, except that many of us have had issues with some of his policies (drone attacks for example).

      • tiredoflibbs March 21, 2013 / 4:44 am

Cappy, we are and have been critical of Bush where required. You are being dishonest again.

Speaking of drone attacks, obAMATEUR has taken them beyond anything Bush did, and you are predictably mute on the issue.

Your token “I disagree” does not cut it. You should be screaming from the rafters as you did with Bush, but again you and your fellow drones are not.

Cappy, you are once again being the moral relativist we have all become to know.

        Cluster has nailed it.

You certainly weren’t critical of Bush before the last year of his presidency. Since his presidency a different story. As for drone attacks, I’ve mentioned a couple of times I’m against them. Please pay attention.

      • tiredoflibbs March 21, 2013 / 9:38 pm

Cappy, you are being dishonest again! Let’s look at my whole post and not your cherry-picked version, okay.

I was paying attention. The total of your criticism toward’s obAMATEUR is summed up in a handful of words, “I disagree with drone attacks.” Wow, that will light a fire under obAMATEUR’s butt! Such scathing criticism!!!!

And we were very critical of Bush before his last year, you are too dishonest and very selective in what you “remember” – just like you are selective in your ignorance.

        Again, cluster nailed it.

“Cappy, we are and have been critical of Bush where required. You are being dishonest again.”

Please provide example of where you were critical of Bush in the first 7 years of his terms. Doubt you can.

“Speaking of drone attacks, obAMATEUR has taken them beyond anything Bush did, and you are predictably mute on the issue.

You said I was mute on the subject and then provided evidence I wasn’t. Either I addressed it or I didn’t. I guess I did according to you.

“I was paying attention. The total of your criticism toward’s obAMATEUR is summed up in a handful of words, “I disagree with drone attacks.”

Again you admit I did what I said I did. Thanks.

        Tired,
Outside of amazona, you do the best job of projection of anyone on this blog. You are also the first one I check to pick up the daily rightwing talking points. Keep up the good work.

      • tiredoflibbs March 22, 2013 / 5:59 am

Wow, cappy sure is being lazy again. Let’s see, critical of Bush on:
        Spending!
        NCLB
        Spending!
        Medicare Part D
        Spending!
        Iraq and Afghanistan
        Spending.
        …to name a few.

You can look these up yourself, stop being lazy.

You criticism of obAMATEUR is a joke. As I said, you wimpy little words constitute nothing, you are effectively mute on the matter. Your criticism of obAMATEUR should match the same scathing criticism you shown towards Bush on the same issues! At least show you have a pair!!

You can’t and you won’t. You are very selective and willfully ignorant when it comes to obAMATEUR, or any other Democrat for that matter. In short, you are a coward and intellectually dishonest.

        Try again drone.

        Cappy whines: “Tired,
Outside of amazona, you do the best job of projection of anyone on this blog. You are also the first one I check to pick up the daily rightwing talking points. Keep up the good work.”

Prove it with links, cowardly blowhard.

When I nail obAMATEUR with his own rhetoric and actions, you are predictably silent, just like the rest of the drones – Velma, Denny, etc.

At least Denny had the courage to admit he would not criticize obAMATEUR on this blog.

      • tiredoflibbs March 22, 2013 / 6:24 am

Capoy, If you want proof of Denny’s courageous revelation here it is:

denny: “Tired, you have no idea what my grievances with Obama are, because I don’t air them in a venue where everyone is already all over him like feral dogs.””
        Thread: Cell Phones Are Universal

The info is out there if you (and you are not) have the courage to find it.

      • Amazona March 22, 2013 / 8:18 pm

Oh, casper is just doing what casper does—lying and showing off his ignorance at the same time.

Poor dope doesn’t even know what “projection” is.

But he is a catty little thing, isn’t he?

As for the sniveling about “feral dogs”, to the caspers of the country any criticism of the acts and polices of The One We Have All Been Waiting For is, by definition, a personal attack. The only thing he left out is that criticizers are all over Barry like RACIST feral dogs.

      • Amazona March 23, 2013 / 10:28 am

“You certainly weren’t critical of Bush before the last year of his presidency. ”

        casper, you simply lie.

And don’t start in on that silly claim that I am “projecting” when I call you out on your lying and your utter stupidity. Yes, sweetie, I know what the term means. And your link does nothing to support your totally inaccurate use of the word. All it does is show us, once again, that your reading comprehension is zilch.

But back to your latest lie. (I don’t count your misuse of the term “projection” as a lie, as you so clearly don’t understand what it means, so that would be in the “stupid” column.)

We criticized Bush when we thought he was wrong, for all 8 years of his presidency. It’s not that you kept track of what we said about Bush, it’s that the truth matters so little to you that you don’t even care that you simply invent things to support your bigotry.

Don’t like that assessment of your character? Then prove it wrong.

Tell us what “conservative” means to you, and what “liberal” means, and then support both your disdain for conservatives and your support for Liberalism. And do try to stick to political definitions—think you can do that? Because I for one am sick and tired of the bleating about “fairness” and “equality” and so on that you dupes fall back on to try to excuse your support for a political system that is UNfair, UNequal, and in fact brutal and dehumanizing when fully enacted.

Till you can and will do that, you are doing nothing but spewing intolerance and nastiness, and lying to do it.

And no, that is not “projection” either.

  6. 02casper March 20, 2013 / 10:20 pm

    cluster,
“1. Immigration Reform – The brilliant Harry Reid announced today that immigration reform would be landing on the Senate Floor in the next work session possibly in April, meaning once again that Democrats will attempt to rush something through,”

Except Immigration reform has been discussed for years. This isn’t something new.

“2. Eric Holder should resign. Period.”

I would agree if I thought he would be replaced by someone who would go after the Banksters. I agree with Mark 100% about restricting the business of banks. Sadly, both parties (yours more than mine) are owned by the banksters so nothing will happen.

    • Cluster March 20, 2013 / 10:48 pm

So since immigration reform has been “discussed” for years, that makes it alright to put it ahead of other more pressing reform issues?

And since “banksters” contribute to both parties, it’s alright if Holder remains in office, ONLY if someone more competent would replace him?

Casper, do you ever get tired of being a moral relativist and a complete wus?

      • 02casper March 20, 2013 / 10:57 pm

“So since immigration reform has been “discussed” for years, that makes it alright to put it ahead of other more pressing reform issues? ”

Since it effects millions of people and has been discussed for years, i would consider it a pressing issue.

And since “banksters” contribute to both parties, it’s alright if Holder remains in office, ONLY if someone more competent would replace him?

Why would you want to replace him with someone less competent?

      • Cluster March 20, 2013 / 10:58 pm

Again, moral relativist and wus. You’re definitely a follower.

      • 02casper March 20, 2013 / 11:02 pm

        cluster,
Name a Republican that would go after the Banksters and I will support him to replace Holder.

        Casper,

Rand Paul definitely would – and I think that both Rubio and Jindal could easily be induced to do so. Of course, all three are Catholic and thus easily influenced by Catholic social teaching on the matter.

      • Cluster March 21, 2013 / 8:34 am

        Casper,

For once in your life, try standing up in your own big boy shoes and take a bold stance. Make a declarative statement. Something of which may rankle other liberals, or one of which that might actually lead someone else to believe that you are a leader.

As it is, your posts are always nothing more than apologetic pap littered with moral relativism and squishy statements or inquiries.

      • neocon01 March 21, 2013 / 4:24 pm

        catspuke

Where have any of them gone after the banksters?

define “banksters”, define “going after “THEM”, tell us WHY one would “go after “them”.

      • Amazona March 22, 2013 / 8:24 pm

cappy is not what you would call a manly man. Just look at the bitchiness of his simpering little posts. So don’t hold your breath waiting for much of a declarative comment. That coy little titter implicit in his posts pretty much sums up the guy.

And when he does stand up on his hind legs, he says something so profoundly stupid you start to appreciate that he has enough self-awareness to understand that he really needs to stick to his simpering. For example, he has stated that for one to believe in the Constitution as it is written, one is stating a belief that we should return to slavery and deny women the vote. And he has explained that we have all these federal elections by which we can change the nation. (BTW, as a former Wyomingarian, I can attest that not even in Wyoming is there more than one federal election. Which is too bad, because the nation could use a lot more of Wyoming and a lot less of, say, Massachusetts.)

  7. tiredoflibbs March 21, 2013 / 10:33 am

These proggy formers have clearly demonstrated that they have no clue of what a conservative is. To them, conservative is old whiebChristians who want purity of party and privilege and do not want to share, which is the theme they regurgitate and echo time and again.

The view the GOP in generalas conservative, which it is not.

  8. Cluster March 21, 2013 / 3:26 pm

You know Sarah, I and most conservatives just don’t think of people in terms of race or ethnicity, like you and most liberals do. You see a black person as a black person – I see them as a human being. Liberals are famous for categorizing people based on skin color, sex, etc. and then identify those groups as victims of some perceived evil effort, in order to rush in and be their protective heroes.

Liberals are not at all interested in solving race problems, because that is how they obtain and keep their power. There always have to be victims. And that’s what I mean by childish.

    Do you understand?
