Benghazi

They say its not the crime, but the cover up – but with Benghazi, it might be the crime and the cover up:

At least four career officials at the State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency have retained lawyers or are in the process of doing so, as they prepare to provide sensitive information about the Benghazi attacks to Congress, Fox News has learned.

Victoria Toensing, a former Justice Department official and Republican counsel to the Senate Intelligence Committee, is now representing one of the State Department employees. She told Fox News her client and some of the others, who consider themselves whistle-blowers, have been threatened by unnamed Obama administration officials.

“I’m not talking generally, I’m talking specifically about Benghazi – that people have been threatened,” Toensing said in an interview Monday. “And not just the State Department. People have been threatened at the CIA.”…

Good to keep in mind that Nixon was brought down because Dean managed to sucker him in to giving post-facto approval to Dean’s attempted cover up of Watergate – and no one died in Watergate.  Here we’ve got dead people and possible obstruction of justice…and potentially attempted cover ups of both events.

Now, will this topple Obama?  Not a chance.  As long as at least 34 Senators are Democrat, then there is absolutely nothing Obama can do which would result in his conviction by the Senate.  We might do pretty well in the 2014 mid-terms, but we’re not going to win a net of 22 seats.  So, Obama will get the stay on – but it is important that the truth come out for two reasons:

1.  Simple justice.  The dead deserve to have the truth told regarding what happened.  Also, in future Administrations, wise people will take to heart what happened and work against a repeat.

2.  Benghazi doesn’t just mean Obama, it means Hillary – she is, in my view, one of the lowest people we have engaged in politics today, and that is in world where Obama is President and her husband was President.  Keeping her out of the White House would be a patriotic service to our nation – and the truth about Benghazi will be devastating to Hillary as well as Obama (and, in fact, perhaps more devastating to Hillary).

The bottom line of what happened in Benghazi – regardless of criminal folly – is that a President, a world-view, was put to the test and found wanting.  The Islamists enemies hate us, all the time and every where and nothing we can do short of dying or surrendering will change them. To ignore the Islamist threat is plain and simple idiotic – to try and explain it away as the result of Israeli or American action is simply to ignore the fact that Islamists, acting as Islamists, have been around for many centuries…not just since before Israel became a nation, but before we became a nation.  One example – in a book written long before our current troubles – really struck home for me.  America existed at the time, but we weren’t in any way involved – in this case, the Great Mutiny in British India in the 1850’s.  A group of Muslim soldiers were being whipped up by an Imam – urged to fight and die for Islam – and at the end of the fiery sermon, the Imam shouted “and now I, too, will die for Islam” and went down in to the fight, where he was promptly killed.  These are the kind of people we fight today – they won’t quit and whether we are soft or hard, they will keep fighting us – because they believe that God commands them to do so and will reward them magnificently for fighting.  Unless our government keeps this fact firmly fixed in mind, we’ll never get anywhere – we have to decide to either fight them to the death or surrender entirely.  Pick one, because our enemies will allow no other choice.

Obama and his Administration believed that words of sweet reason would change things – and our ambassador in Libya (perhaps very voluntarily) was sacrificed to this absurd ideal.  It is to be hoped that once Obama leaves office, his successors will have a more realistic view of things.

Fox News is the ONLY network covering the whistle blowers. It’ll be interesting to see how long CNN, NBC/MSNBC. CBS and ABC can hold out before they have to cover it or look completely foolish.

    • James0601 April 30, 2013 / 12:07 am

The reason they are the only ones covering it is because it’s much ado about nothing.

It’s a losing issue for the GOP, best to let this one go and chalk it up as a loss.

James, I’m sure the Obama administration and most of the MSM wishes that were so. But as the poem goes: “if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.”

Listen, it’s unfortunate that our ambassador died with those seals. The truth is that there was no cover up, there was no crime. It was a simple case of fog of war.

Your premise that the President, or anyone else in his cabinet intentionally ignored pleas for help and let their fellow Americans die is laughable and absurd.

That’s why this issue isn’t catching on. Nobody believes your premise.

      • Amazona April 30, 2013 / 11:00 am

        “Laughable and absurd.”

Then an in-depth investigation should be welcomed, as it can only prove the absurdity and give everyone a good laugh.

The thing is, it IS “catching on”, at least outside the Complicit Agenda Media and its attendant knee padders.

      • James0601 April 30, 2013 / 11:18 am

Well, except that Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Programs Charlene Lamb testified last October that that’s exactly what happened. They sat there watching it unfold in “real time”, and not only did nothing, someone ordered forces that were ready to go to stand down. Anyone who was complicit in that travesty should be in Leavenworth.

Usually, the cover-up is worse than the crime; in this case the results of the crime is a dead US Ambassador at the hands of muzzie thugs (but I repeat myself).

The cover-up is the same political calculation it’s always been; deny, delay distort … act indifferent then offended; feign outrage … then change the subject.

        Positively Clintonesque.

Fortunately for all of us, some are more interested in pursuing the truth than political gamesmanship.

There was a time when liberals stood for something. Sad how now they just mindlessly defend incompetence and wanton ambition for the sake of a political party.

The Smallest Minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.” – Ayn Rand

        James,

Read “Worst” when it comes out – all 150 reasons we have listed that Obama is the worst President, ever, were covered in the news…and I’ll bet no one reading it is aware of more than 20 of them. Matt and I were astounded at what we kept finding – we finally cut it off at 150 because we’d never get it done if we kept looking for more reasons. But each and every one of them was reported in highly respected media outfits from the left on Counterpunch to the right at FrontPage and every sort of media in between (NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, etc). The difference is that the MSM didn’t relentlessly report it as they report things which can harm GOPers. It was all on page A-32, or the last 30 seconds of the nightly newscast, on a Sunday. But its all there – we have more than 450 source notes for our 150 items. You believe that Benghazi is no big deal because you’ve just mindlessly followed the MSM reporting – all of which is designed to protect Obama and Hillary. But even the few details we know for certain condemn Obama and Hillary…and when the full truth comes out?

      • James0601 April 30, 2013 / 2:51 pm

        Mark,

Read “Worst” when it comes out – all 150 reasons we have listed that Obama is the worst President, ever, were covered in the news…and I’ll bet no one reading it is aware of more than 20 of them.

No, you THINK he is the worst President ever. I won’t read your book, or any book that you ever write or will write. The problem is mark, I have nothing in common with someone like you and will never have anything in common with you.

Obviously the whole MSM is out to get GOPers and they all conspire with the administration to damage the GOP. The GOP damage couldn’t possibly be because you have people like Neo representing your party and because your message is a lousy one that doesn’t resonate with Americans.

It was all on page A-32, or the last 30 seconds of the nightly newscast, on a Sunday. But its all there – we have more than 450 source notes for our 150 items.

great! that still doesn’t negate the fact that its YOUR opinion as to why he is so bad.

You believe that Benghazi is no big deal because you’ve just mindlessly followed the MSM reporting – all of which is designed to protect Obama and Hillary.

Again, you assume that I follow mindlessly because I don’t agree with you, and off course the whole media is protecting Obama and Hillary. It can’t be because there is nothing to the story and that its sufficiently clear to onlookers as to what happened. Obviously its a big conspiracy to cover up the truth.

Have you ever heard of Occum’s razor?

      • M. Noonan April 30, 2013 / 4:35 pm

        James,

You just said you won’t read the book – in other words, you won’t even consider that a different point of view is possible. I’m reminded of a quote: “it is not bigotry to be sure you’re right; it is bigotry to not imagine how you could be wrong”.

      • James0601 April 30, 2013 / 5:22 pm

i won’t read YOUR book. maybe you misunderstood. I read plenty of sites and news sources that have opposing views. I just won’t read YOUR book because you start off from the point of view that I disagree with. You’re biased in other words.

      • dbschmidt April 30, 2013 / 7:34 pm

James is the perfect example of a modern liberal where they claim to be “open minded” but only if you are in lockstep with their beliefs. They want to help the “little people” but have been proven to not give a shit unless they can spend OPM in an attempt to appear they care–results be damned. I could continue for quite some time like Mark’s & Matt’s new book but James proves the point but stating that he will never read it or any other book written by these two because he perceives that they start from a perceived bias. Facts be damned–it is how I feel.

I do not want to put words into anyone’s mouth but I am almost sure he also sees Major. Hassan’s “Allah Akbar” shooting as “workplace violence.” Just as it was with the Barbary pirates, or for that matter the Crusades which was nothing more than them evil Christians trying to suppress others. Photo ID for voters is more critical to these folks even though you are required to have it to buy many products in your average grocery store these days. Nothing to see here–move along.

But this (modern liberal) also views this as the “most transparent administration ever” as they block and sidestep anything that might look improper on behalf of one their own. Why not stand on the side of actual transparency and demand a full investigation of not only Benghazi but many other things this administration has done? Why spend over $2 million dollars on sealing and refusing FOIA on the President himself if you are so open-minded and transparent?

As far as Hillary–the only word that comes to mind is “Failure.” On everything she has attempted to do since HillaryCare onwards which also includes Benghazi. I, honestly, cannot find one thing she was ever successful at except getting positions of power by lying.

No, we cannot actually examine any liberal because it might expose the soft underbelly of lying and deceit they rely on to survive. Look at the coverage of the Gosnell trial to see how they try to cover up the actual information by complicit media and information manipulation so their false idol of Planned Parenthood does not feel the blow back of an enlighten voter. Their stronghold is the low-information voter because they would never hold office again without them.

      • James0601 April 30, 2013 / 9:32 pm

Let’s dissect this idiotic argument that db makes. point by point.

James is the perfect example of a modern liberal where they claim to be “open minded” but only if you are in lockstep with their beliefs.

That’s the definition of Mark, Neo, Cluster and any other teaparty faithful. Aren’t you the ones who say compromise is bad and that there shall be no compromise? have you read GMB’s posts lately?

They want to help the “little people” but have been proven to not give a shit unless they can spend OPM in an attempt to appear they care–results be damned.

Great strawman, did you get your arguments from Rush or Beck this morning? Really? I don’t care about results and just want to spend OPM? what’s OPM anyway? we all consent to being taxed and put our tax money in the hands of people WE elect…so in reality, we consent to our money being used based on how we vote.

So stop your complaining. Seriously, grow a pair.

I could continue for quite some time like Mark’s & Matt’s new book but James proves the point but stating that he will never read it or any other book written by these two because he perceives that they start from a perceived bias.

They do start from a bias. Conservatives like Mark and yourself live in a bubble where Obama is a muslim atheist communist driven to take away your guns and turn you all into Muslims.

I do not want to put words into anyone’s mouth but I am almost sure he also sees Major. Hassan’s “Allah Akbar” shooting as “workplace violence.”

You don’t want to put words in anyone’s mouth, but then you do the very thing you say you won’t do? Really? Major Hassan’s act was simple terrorism. That’s it. Next time, step out of your bubble and actually live in the real world son.

Just as it was with the Barbary pirates, or for that matter the Crusades which was nothing more than them evil Christians trying to suppress others.

What the hell are you ranting about? seriously, people like you are slightly deranged and need to be brought back into reality.

Photo ID for voters is more critical to these folks even though you are required to have it to buy many products in your average grocery store these days. Nothing to see here–move along.

You want to rant about photo ID because you’re worried about voter fraud right? You’d rather limit some poeple from voting….to stop something that has NEVER decided an outcome of an election on a national level. Name me ONE guy on a national election level who has won or lost elections due to verifiable voter fraud??

But this (modern liberal) also views this as the “most transparent administration ever” as they block and sidestep anything that might look improper on behalf of one their own.

who said they are the most transparent? Did I ever say that? I didn’t…again, STOP HALLUCINATING!

Why not stand on the side of actual transparency and demand a full investigation of not only Benghazi but many other things this administration has done?

ok..what other things has this administration done? how much more investigating you want to do on Benghazi? what do you believe happened?

Why spend over $2 million dollars on sealing and refusing FOIA on the President himself if you are so open-minded and transparent?

        huh?

As far as Hillary–the only word that comes to mind is “Failure.” On everything she has attempted to do since HillaryCare onwards which also includes Benghazi. I, honestly, cannot find one thing she was ever successful at except getting positions of power by lying.

I think you should do some reading and research. I will allow you to correct your statement on this later. You’re welcome.

No, we cannot actually examine any liberal because it might expose the soft underbelly of lying and deceit they rely on to survive.

STRAWMAN alert! Son, seriously, stop listening to Rush and Beck. please, for your sake, live in the real world, not your alternate reality.

Look at the coverage of the Gosnell trial to see how they try to cover up the actual information by complicit media and information manipulation so their false idol of Planned Parenthood does not feel the blow back of an enlighten voter.

Riiight, everything is a conspiracy and everything in the world revolves around abortion….seriously, who gives a damn about abortion.

Their stronghold is the low-information voter because they would never hold office again without them.

Right, you mean the same low information voter who thinks Obama is a Kenyan Muslim Usurper like neo? The same low information vote who thinks the President’s trip to Africa a few years ago cost 200 million? Or maybe the same low information voter who thinks the earth is 6000 year old and the President wants to take your guns?

Dude, seriously, get a life and start living in the real world.

      • M. Noonan May 1, 2013 / 12:40 am

        James,

Of course I’m biased – so are 100% of the people in the world. There is no unbiased person out there. You just don’t want to read the book because you’re afraid it will force you to question your views.

      • Cluster May 1, 2013 / 8:48 am

        James,

Your response to dbschmidt is as Spook says is – comic gold. Every rebuttal of yours can be condensed into – “you’re the lunatic, grow a pair man”. Who would’ve thought is was so easy to win a debate?

Dbschmidt makes an excellent when he says that if liberals are all about transparency than why do they block inquiry? If you believe that there is nothing behind the Benghazi debacle, than you should be the first one to call for a full investigation to clear your ideologies good name, and to further label your opponents as irrational reactionaries. But instead, you chide those for even suggesting the investigation and claim – “there’s nothing to see here”. That’s really not the comment from someone who champions transparency. Do you get that?

      • dbschmidt May 1, 2013 / 9:46 pm

Not that you are worth it but let us “dissect” your rebuttal “…this idiotic argument that db makes.(sic)point by point.” [Most other grammatical errors are intact as posted]

I stated: “James is the perfect example of a modern liberal where they claim to be “open minded” but only if you are in lockstep with their beliefs.

James reply: That’s the definition of Mark, Neo, Cluster and any other teaparty faithful. Aren’t you the ones who say compromise is bad and that there shall be no compromise? have you read GMB’s posts lately?

No direct response but a straw man or diversion, reader’s opinion, of his own. assumptions of his own without fact or data backup while claiming the same on my part. Mine are original opinion and no more—his are a knee jerk reaction without fact at any level. The original argument I put forth is never discussed but deflected into a school-yard (elementary at best) argument of “well he or she once said this—so there.”

Next, I stated, “They want to help the “little people” but have been proven to not give a shit unless they can spend OPM in an attempt to appear they care–results be damned.

James response: Great strawman, did you get your arguments from Rush or Beck this morning? Really? I don’t care about results and just want to spend OPM? what’s OPM anyway? we all consent to being taxed and put our tax money in the hands of people WE elect…so in reality, we consent to our money being used based on how we vote.

There are too many ignorant misgivings to address but I will do the best I can with this one. First—you need to understand the meaning of a “straw man” argument. I did not present one. You can pick one of many real situations including the “War on Poverty”, “War on Drugs”, and “War on Crime” among others that have failed miserably under multiple administrations to argue about but you choose none and claimed I had no standing. I have no allegiance except to the American people—no (R) or (D) behind my name or postings.

Nevertheless, you are a great little minion (non-thinking / low-information liberal) who automatically assumes I get direction from Beck or Rush even though I haven’t had the time to listen to them do to seeking a new work environment—somehow, you had the time to possibly get your points from Media Matters among others???

Next, you have no idea that OPM equates to “Other People’s Money” which your ilk suck up worst than blood from any vampire movie I have ever seen? Really, then I have given you too much credit. Also, please keep your “…we all consent to being taxed and put our tax money in the hands of people WE elect… because it is your belief.

James: So stop your complaining. Seriously, grow a pair.

My Response: If you had any concept of comprehension—I was not “complaining” but presenting an alternate point of view but after reading your entire posting I have come to realize that is also beyond your comprehension. I may or may not answer the rest of your post / diatribe as I see fit. Not sure it is worth my time and effort. Nevertheless, it is a minion’s view of the world that is “golden” in nature so I will call this the end of “Part 1.”

        ===End of Part 1 — Minion’s Gold===

Carney: “Benghazi Happened A Long Time Ago”
The Weekly Standard ^ | May 1,2013 | Daniel Halper

White House spokesman Jay Carney said in response to a question about the September 11, 2012 Benghazi terror attack that it “happened a long time ago.”

      • Amazona May 4, 2013 / 10:25 am

“White House spokesman Jay Carney said in response to a question about the September 11, 2012 Benghazi terror attack that it “happened a long time ago.” ”

Remember, the Left hates history, even recent history, like a few months ago. Do you recall one of the forkers bleating that I am “TRAPPED IN HISTORY” when I pointed out some hard cold facts about the multiple failures of Leftist governance?

History is not kind to the Left. In fact, history is the biggest enemy of the Left, because history is a look at how the Left really performs, rather than the wistful gazing into a hoped-for future that lures so many of the gullible into its clutches. This is why the Left is always insisting “Don’t look back—you don’t care what has happened, you only care about what might happen, some day..”

The War On Poverty—-history, you see, so not worth an examination, as they work so frantically to expand this failure while hoping no one will examine its cost or its record.

The Great Society—history, you see, so not something we want to look at too closely, or we might wonder what is so “great” about dumping trillions of dollars into bureaucracies where they can be funneled off into various hands, in the name of making the nation great, while the nation itself degenerates into internal and international weakness.

And so it goes, to quote a Lefty favorite author. From the slaughter of the czar in 1917 to the current debacle of the laughingly misnamed “Affordable Care Act” which is neither affordable nor about care. modern Leftism is an unbroken litany of failure after failure. Which is why Leftism has no rear-view mirror, and why it dismisses anything more than a few weeks old as irrelevant.

Obama Administration Replaces Top Generals Following Benghazi Disaster

        General Carter Ham

The latest making the rounds is that Barack Obama replaced General Carter Ham at AFRICOM after the general made a move to help the US security officials at the Benghazi consulate and annex. Ham was replaced by Gen. David Rodriquez on October 18.
        Tiger Droppings reported:

The information I heard today was that General [Carter] Ham as head of Africom received the same e-mails the White House received requesting help/support as the attack was taking place. General Ham immediately had a rapid response unit ready and communicated to the Pentagon that he had a unit ready.

General Ham then received the order to stand down. His response was to screw it, he was going to help anyhow. Within 30 seconds to a minute after making the move to respond, his second in command apprehended General Ham and told him that he was now relieved of his command.

The story continues that now General Rodiguez would take General Ham’s place as the head of Africom.

Sure enough Obama nominated Gen. David Rodriguez to replace Gen. Carter Ham as commander of U.S. Africa Command.
        The Stars and Stripes reported:

President Barack Obama will nominate Army Gen. David Rodriguez to succeed Gen. Carter Ham as commander of U.S. Africa Command and Marine Lt. Gen. John Paxton to succeed Gen. Joseph Dunford as assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta announced Thursday.

You don’t think you can carry on a conversation with this numskull do you?

He actually wrote “that its sufficiently clear to onlookers as to what happened” (ignoring his poor grammar) doesn’t that prove he’s an idiot? Why are you even bothering with someone whose head is so obviously up his ass? “onlookers”??? Seriously?

“I won’t read your book, or any book that you ever write or will write.” That you Ever Write or Will Write” ? He must have attended a fourth-rate madrassa in Stupidastan.

Typical Sasan; stupid angry & impotent. Just another Third World Loser!

        BeachWeek

(Editor’s note: Colin Flaherty has done more reporting than any other journalist on what appears to be a nationwide trend of skyrocketing black-on-white crime, violence and abuse. WND features these reports to counterbalance the virtual blackout by the rest of the media due to their concerns that reporting such incidents would be inflammatory or even racist. WND considers it racist not to report racial abuse solely because of the skin color of the perpetrators or victims.)

Reporters with all the local media had trouble describing what happened over the weekend when 40,000 black people descended on Virginia Beach for a party.

        Their audiences, however, did not.

Daniel Johnson was one of dozens of people who had no trouble talking about the lawbreakers and the widespread chaos, danger, thefts, violence and lawlessness they brought to Virginia Beach as part of College Beach Week 2013; a time when black students could “blow off some steam” before final exams.

“Because it was a group of young black college people everyone is scared to say anything for fear of being called a racist,” he said in a post to a Virginian-Pilot news story. “It is what it is – these people come to the Beach and do everything in there [sic] power to intimidate the local and visiting White people at the Beach – rude – disrespectful – dirty and violent – They come here and treat our beach like a toilet On Saturday afternoon I went to the Harris Teeter and a LARGE group of young black visitors were in the parking lot drinking and playing loud music – intimidating locals – I called the police and even though 2 cop cars drove by nothing was done!”

Police reported 900 emergency calls to 9-1-1 Saturday night involving at least three shootings, three stabbings and three robberies. That they know of. All during a four-hour period. People in Virginia Beach are furious and are taking to Facebook and the local news sites to have their say.

Mr. Nakoula was arrested in September and was ordered held without bail. *******Out of concern for his safety, he has been kept in protective custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center here*******
. A string of Muslim religious leaders in Afghanistan and Pakistan have offered bounties for the killing of the film’s maker.

BREAKING, a fly on the wall……

      • dbschmidt May 1, 2013 / 9:10 pm

Now, now, now Ama –just after I got up the other morning and got done shaving with “Occum’s (sic) razor”–I had a recurrence of “turret syndrome” which required me to quickly gain access to my highest tower on the property, curse unexplainable, while shooting high powered weapons at innocents single-highhandedly all due to my other hand being consumed with bible-clinging.

Later I apologized to the small town my vast empire overlooks and I took into terror explaining my “disease” and they forgave me in entirety. It is a wonderful tale of crap. 🙂

CA Governor Signs Law Allowing Confiscation of Firearms
    http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/05/01/CA-Gov-Signs-Law-Allowing-Confiscation-Of-Firearms

Registration databases of legal gun owners is the first step to confiscation. Ask Great Britain, among others, but not least Californians. Should we make sure felons and the criminally mentally ill do not have weapons–sure; but from the previous listing of NY gun owners in the daily rags to “Moonbeam’s round-up”–legal gun owners should not be on a database or list anywhere and in particular in the hands of an untrustworthy government.

Since California keeps a database of gun owners, they know where every gun is–or where it’s supposed to be–and they’ll use that database to locate them.

Guess they never got the “shall not be infringed.” memo. BTW, just in case anyone is monitoring this–I lost all of mine during that tragic Mariana Trench boating experience. I swear, just as Obama and his administration does. Plus, it was soooo long ago–nearly 7.5 months and all.
